Well now… what a surprise. We're all back here with another chapter of Poketail. Man, I can't believe how hyped all of you are about the next chapter. I mean seriously, I know the original story had some attention, but I never expected this story to garner such a following. But it does warm my heart to see all of you back for more. With online classes and COVID, it's been hard to keep up with my stories, but since I'm done with school forever, I have time to write.
But let's focus on some reviews for now.
RHatch89: Thanks.
STARSONGPAPA: Haha, sorry for teasing ya.
GirlFish: Oh, they'll have some interesting reactions to some Pokemon.
Megaboy20: I will.
Guest: I never said I'm not a fan of Ash. I just don't feel like having him in this story. Besides, Ash is becoming a pro with his Lucario, Dragonite, Gengar and Galarian Farfetch'd.
Guest number 2: I FUCKING LOVE CHARIZARD.
BanRedfox: Obviously, we'll see Team Galactic and they'll be a lot more intimidating in this story.
Amanny: Trust me, we'll learn more about their relationship later on.
GracefulArt: Dude, not giving Natsu a Charmander is like having Dragon Ball Z without Super Saiyans, or a pizza without cheese.
Guest number 3: Dude… Cynthia IS the champ. Why wouldn't I have her appear in the story?
To recap the last chapter: Night had come to the Fairy Tail Guildhall and in a surprising turn of events, Kevin offered to take some of the members with him back to the Crystal Empire. Though it was a tough decision, he eventually chose team Natsu, the Exceeds, Levy, Gajeel, the Strauss sisters, Romeo and Cana. The next day, they all met at the harbor in order to board Captain Nate's ship, the S.S Gyarados.
How will the Fiore wizards react to a world full of Pokemon? Time to make the donuts.
'S.S Gyarados, one week later'
Kevin Rowan always loved a good boat ride.
After all, with how far each of the regions were in the Crystal Empire, it only made sense that he would get used to riding on a boat. Even if he had Pokemon that could fly him to those places, there was just something about the scent of seawater that made Kevin feel calm.
"Almost home…" He muttered under his breath, leaning against the railing.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Kevin suddenly jumped as he turned around, only to see the Titania of Fairy Tail Erza giving him a smile.
"Oh, morning." Kevin said as Erza joined him, one arm on the railing while her other hand was on her cheek. "How's everyone else?"
"Some of the boys are still sleeping. But Lucy and the girls are awake, having breakfast." Erza explained, though her attention was focused on the water. "And what about you?"
"Just wanted some fresh air. We're getting close to the Crystal Empire." Kevin explained, unable to hide the smile appearing on his face. Fiore was a fun place to visit, but even he was starting to feel homesick.
"Do you have any family waiting for you? Any friends?" Erza asked curiously, this time looking at the black haired teen.
"Obviously my mom and dad. Then there's my grandpa, though I'm pretty sure he has his nose stuck in a book." Kevin said with a chuckle. "Then there's Barry, who I'm pretty sure is charging someone for some reason and Dawn. But honestly, I'm not even sure where she is right now." The more he spoke about the people he cared about, the more Kevin smiled. It was contagious enough to even make the stoic Erza smile gratefully.
"I never got to thank you properly for inviting us. I'm sure it was somewhat troubling." Erza confessed, only for Kevin to wave his hand.
"Nah. With how the captain and the rest of the crew reacted, I'm sure they would've invited you whether I vouched or not." Kevin replied as the two laughed a bit. Since leaving Fiore, Kevin had gotten to know his heroes bit by bit and needless to say, he was glad. After all, who could say they rode a boat with some of Fiore's top wizards from the number one guild? Barry would be so-
*BOOM*
However, his thoughts were interrupted by a rather big explosion, causing Kevin and Erza to sharply turn around. "Crap! Do you think that was-"
*Thud*
Rolling out of the smoke was none other than Gray Fullbuster, who glared at the figure walking out of said smoke. "That was a cheap shot, dragon boy!" Gray mocked out loud as his rival emerged with an equally angry glare.
"You're the guy who punched me in my sleep!" Natsu shouted back.
"Only cause you wouldn't shut up with your snoring! It's all I've heard for the past week!" Gray yelled while an icy mist appeared from his hands.
"What are you gonna do about it, huh ice princess?!" Natsu called out with a grin as he ignited his fists.
"Captain, they're at it again." One of the crewmen called out as some of them surrounded the two, with a large whiteboard somehow appearing.
"Alright, place your bets!"
"My money's on Salamander!"
"No way! Fullbuster has a bigger win streak!"
"You're blind, man! Dragneel has more wins!" And like that, the bets were on. Kevin sweatdropped at the display while Erza merely rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"You know after a week, I'm sadly used to this." Kevin said with a deadpan tone. Things on the boat were a bit crazy, what with Natsu and Gray's constant fights, Cana having drinking contests with the crewmen(they were still shocked how well she could handle her liquor) and even Erza's obsession with cake.
"SHARP!" Before Natsu and Gray could get any closer, Bisharp suddenly landed between them, pointing his blades towards each of their necks. They stopped and looked at the Dark/Steel-type in surprise.
"I think that's enough, lads." Captain Nate called out as he walked through the crowd, his hands behind his back while a smile broke on his face. "Don't want to repeat what happened two days ago, right?"
At the mention of that, the two wizards from Fairy Tail glared at each other before deactivating their magic.
"Sorry." They said in unison, making Nate chuckle while Bisharp lowered his blades.
"Were they trying to fight again?" Lucy asked as she and the rest of the Fairy Tail wizards emerged from the barracks, having finished their breakfast. They heard the commotion their guildmates were making and they already know what would happen.
"Aye, but my good friend here was able to stop them." Nate informed them while gesturing towards Bisharp, who crossed his arms.
"We're sorry if they caused you more problems." Wendy apologized to the captain while bowing her head.
"Truth be told, it brings more liveliness to my crew." Nate explained as he extended his arm towards his crewmen, who were working with smiles on their faces. "Being out at sea for a long time can take its toll on my men. So having a little distraction goes a long way."
"Excuse me captain, but how far are we from the Crystal Empire?" Happy asked with a raised paw. It was a reasonable question and was on everyone's mind.
"Good question, cat." The captain said before he looked ahead, the breeze brushing his face as he smirked. "Five minutes."
"How do you know that?" Lisanna questioned with a confused tone. Did he have some kind of magic that allowed him to judge distance? Or was it simply a guess?
"It's the breeze." Kevin spoke up while raising a finger. "When you're near a barrier, the breeze starts to change and you can feel it."
"A barrier? I heard the Empire had one. But how big is it?" Levy asked, curiosity taking over. Both Kevin and the captain shrugged, not really calculating how big it actually was.
"If there is a barrier, how do we know it won't keep us out?" Cana inquired with a raised brow.
"Because we have the Seal." One of the crewmen spoke up while pointing at the top of the ship. There seemed to be a silver crystal-shaped seal on it, flickering every so often. "If any ships without that Seal attempt to pass the barrier, they're pushed back. You can attack it as much as you want, but it can handle its fair share of magic attacks." The Fairy Tail wizards were impressed with how advanced the Crystal Empire was when it came to its defense system. Then again, given the creatures that lived there, it made sense they would want to protect them at all costs.
"Captain! We're about to pass it now!" Another of the crewmen shouted with some excitement in his voice, making Kevin and the captain smile even more. The Fairy Tail wizards looked ahead, curious to see how things would work.
The seal on the ship began to glow even brighter, indicating something was coming.
*Boom*
A wave of magic suddenly phased through the ship, much to the wizard and Exceed's shock. "What was that?" Lisanna questioned in awe.
"That was the barrier." Captain Nate said before he walked up to the ledge, his smile widening to a big grin. "Come look." Everyone followed the captain to see what he was referring to.
Only to be awestruck with the view in front of them.
Multiple creatures they hadn't been seen before were suddenly in front of the ship. Giant whales were swimming next to the ship and several birds were flying overhead.
"Are those…" Lucy muttered in awe.
"Pokemon." Kevin finished with a smirk. "The round whales are called Walmer and the birds are Pelipper. They're common in the sea. Fun fact: Pelipper is both a Flying and Water type Pokemon." One Pelipper flew onto the railing, looking at the group.
"Awww, it's so cute." Wendy said with a smile as she got near the Water/Flying type. The Pokemon looked at her for a moment… before blasting a small stream of water on the Sky Dragon Slayer. "KYAH!"
"Pelipper!" Pelipper repeated its name in a mocking matter before it flew away.
"Yeah… some Pokemon are less than friendly." Kevin said with a sweatdrop.
"You're telling us this, now?!" Carla shouted at him while Lucy and Levy helped dry off Wendy.
"Aye. There are some Pokemon who want nothing more than to battle. They don't care who it is as long as they fight." Captain Nate informed them with a frown. "Those are the Pokemon that need to be avoided." The wizards understood what he meant. After all, despite having multiple abilities and intelligence, Pokemon were still technically wild animals and have different personalities." It made sense to the wizards, much like how people are. Romeo poked his head a bit more to see the Pokemon swimming below… only to catch sight of something.
"Ummm, captain? I think there's something stuck on the ship." Romeo spoke up while pointing down.
"Oh?" Curious, the captain, as well as the others looked over the edge to see what Romeo was referring to.
"What the hell's that?" Gajeel questioned with a raised brow as his red eyes stared at the strange… thing.
It looked like some kind of bulge, colored in aqua blue with some yellowish spike and a purple top, complete in a crown-like formation. Everyone was beyond confused by what it was, though Nate narrowed his eyes.
"Is that a barnacle?" Lucy asked out loud.
"I've never seen a barnacle that big. And is it… moving?" Levy pointed out as the 'barnacle' twitched a bit.
And then… it moved.
"MAREANIE!" Much to everyone's shock, the 'barnacle' leaped towards them, forcing them all to step back as it landed on the railing, giving them a clear view of it.
The barnacle turned out to be a short creature with a purple, stalk-like body and head. It has blue eyes with yellow pupils and sclerae, and three pointed teeth. The body consists of two sections; the top section is slightly smaller and overlaps the lower. On top of its head is a starfish-like collection of ten tentacles. All of the tentacles reach the ground, except for the one directly in front, which is shorter and leaves its face exposed. The tentacles are light blue and covered in purple spines. On top of its head is a purple area with a collection of spikes with a larger, yellow spine in the center. The new creature hissed at the humans, its tentacles waving threateningly.
"What is that?! A Pokemon?!" Happy exclaimed while landing on Natsu's shoulder. He then looked at Kevin, who looked just as confused.
"Hang on." Kevin reached into his pocket and took out his Pokedex, aiming it at the new creature.
"No data found." The Pokedex stated, much to Kevin's shock.
"No data? What the hell does that mean?" Kevin asked the device. He was sure his Pokedex was up to date before he left. So why is it bugging out now?
"Don't bother, lad. Your Pokedex wouldn't know this Pokemon." Nate said while taking a step forward, his Pokemon proudly next to him. "This is a Mareanie of the Alola Islands."
"Alola Islands?" Juvia questioned in confusion. She and the others didn't see anything like that on the map Kevin provided for the Crystal Empire. So that meant this was something new altogether!
"It was founded a few months ago, but not many people know of it." Nate explained before mareanie leaping towards him, prompting him to dodge as it landed on the deck.
"Allow us to deal with this Pokemon." Erza said in a serious tone as she summoned her sword, only for the captain to raise his hand.
"No, miss Scarlet." Nate told her with a small grin. "This is my ship and as its captain, it's my duty to protect it. And since you're my guests, I can't ask you to fight for us."
"Trust me on this. Once the captain has that look in his eyes, there's no changing his mind." One of the crewmen called out with a smile as he, as well as his friends, surrounded the group, excited to see their captain battle. Seeing this, the wizards eased up and allowed the captain to do as he pleased.
"Bisharp, will you help me?" Nate asked the Dark/Steel-type, who nodded. Floatzel merely shrugged while stepping back, allowing his fellow Pokemon to battle for now.
Mareanie was the first to move, leaping in the air while spreading its tentacles. The spikes began to glow before they were suddenly launched towards Bisharp.
"Bisharp, dodge!" The tall Pokemon buckled his legs before moving left and right, dodging the Spike Cannon attack. "Now Metal Claw!" Bisharp's claws transformed into metal claws before he rushed towards Mareanie at high speed, much to its shock. Bisharp then slashed Mareanie in full force in an X-shaped formation.
"Eanie!" Mareanie let out a pain filled cry as it flew in the air, landing on the deck with a thud. The attack wasn't as effective as it would be, but it still hurt a lot.
"Wow. Bisharp's fast." Mirajane commented, interested in seeing how the battle will unfold. Mareanie got back up, glaring at Bisharp.
"Mareanie!" It jumped in the air yet again, puffing its cheeks. Pulling it head back, Mareanie then spat out three balls of gunk, heading towards Bisharp.
"Look out!" Wendy called out before the attack struck Bisharp, covering his face with gunk. "Oh no!"
However, rather than be concerned, Captain Nate smirked knowingly. Bisharp shook his head, getting rid of the gunk and giving his opponent a glare.
"Don't worry. Bisharp's just fine." Kevin stated with a smile. "See, that attack was called Sludge Bomb and usually, it would poison the opposing Pokemon. But since Bisharp is part Steel type, poison attacks won't work on him."
"I get it. So there are some Pokemon who can't be affected by other types?" Levy asked while taking out a notepad and writing down the information. Hey, it wouldn't hurt to have extra knowledge every now and then.
"Right. And it looks like the captain's getting serious." Kevin commented, seeing the look on Nate's face.
"Bisharp, Dark Pulse!" The captain ordered as Bisharp cupped his hands together, charging dark energy. With a battlecry, Bisharp unleashed a beam of dark purple rings towards Mareanie, who widened its eyes in shock.
*Boom*
Mareanie screamed as the Dark Pulse struck it, sending it crashing on the deck. "It's time!" Nate reached into his belt and pulled out a Pokeball. However, this one had an aqua blue top with what looked like a net around it. "Net Ball, go!" With that, the captain threw the Net Ball at Mareanie, who still laid on the deck in pain. The ball struck Mareanie on the head before opening up, causing a net to shoot out and wrap around the Pokemon before turning into blue energy. The Net Ball absorbed Mareanie before closing up, landing on the deck with a small thud. Everyone watched as the Net Ball began shaking, the white button on the front blinking red every few seconds.
*DING*
After a few shakes, the Net Ball let out a DING, shrinking down to its smaller form. "What to go, captain!" One by one, the crewmen all cheered for their captain, excited by the battle they had just witnessed.
"So… did he catch it?" Natsu questioned in confusion, unsure of what happened.
"Yup. Whenever a Pokeball, or in this case a Net Ball, stops shaking and lets out that ding, it means the Pokemon inside is caught." Kevin explained with a smile as he saw the captain pick up the Net Ball, looking at his new capture.
"Alright, alright. That's enough, lads. We're almost at our destination, so get ready!" Captain Nate ordered playfully, getting nods from his men before they got back to work. He turned back to the Fairy Tail wizards with a smirk. "Well, I take it this is the first time any of you saw a Pokemon battle, eh? Hope it was entertaining."
"That was amazing!" Wendy and Romeo told him at the same time with smiles on their faces.
"I admit your Pokemon are quite skilled." Lily commented while on Gajeel's shoulder, his tiny paws crossed. Bisharp puffed his chest a bit, proud to get such praise.
"Of course. I train with Bisharp and Floatzel every day. It helps build a bond between humans and Pokemon." Nate said while patting his Bisharp's back, avoiding the sharp blades. He then looked at the Net Ball in his hand. "And now we have a new crew member. One from Alola, no less."
"Yeah. I gotta update this thing when I get home." Kevin said while looking at his Pokedex. He pocketed the device before looking ahead, a smile returning to his face. "Home…"
'Sometime later, Akayo Town'
After some more time sailing, the S.S Gyarados finally reached its destination: Akayo Town. It wasn't exactly a big town, but it was the place where most ships would come to whenever visiting the Sinnoh region. Once it docked, the crew of the S.S Gyarados began bringing down the supplies they brought, with some of their Pokemon helping out.
Kevin took a deep breath, letting in the fresh air of the Sinnoh region before sighing. "Ahhh, you can never go wrong with that Sinnoh air." He stated in a nostalgic tone. To be back home after traveling always made him happy and now that he was here, he could finally see his parents. However, he was the tour guide for the Fairy Tail wizards behind him, so going home would have to wait. Turning back to the wizards, Kevin chuckled a bit as he saw the looks they were giving the town. "So how does it feel to be the first Fairy Tail wizards to step foot in the Crystal Empire?"
"I have to say. It's not what I expected." Levy commented first while looking around. It didn't look that different from Magnolia, minus a few obvious differences. The biggest being the vehicles that were driving by.
"Look at all the Pokemon." Carla pointed out as they saw several Bug Pokemon fly by, with other types of Pokemon walking with humans.
"Yup. The Crystal Empire has towns and cities that have Pokemon walk through it. Speaking of which…" Kevin took out a Pokeball before throwing it in the air, releasing his trusty old partner, Greninja. "Welcome home, pal."
"Ninja." Greninja muttered while stretching his arms, Being back in his trainer's Region was nice, though Greninja would have preferred to go back to Kalos one day.
"Glad to see all of you are excited." Captain Nate called out from the top of the ship, with his new Mareanie on his shoulder.
"Thank you for taking the time to bring us here, captain." Erza said respectively while she and the others bowed.
"Yeah, thanks a lot!" Natsu said while running up the walkway and patting the captain on the shoulder with a toothy grin. However, he then leaned close so no one would hear him. "By the way… you got any extra Lacrima for motion sickness?" This got a laugh from the captain.
"Sorry, lad. These aren't exactly cheap and we do need them for the ship. But I think you'll manage." Nate told the Dragon Slayer while patting his back hard, making Natsu deflate in defeat at the thought of his motion sickness. "Still, it was an honor to have such celebrities on my ship. If you ever need a ride back to Magnolia, just call."
"We will, cap. Thanks." Kevin spoke up, happy to see the captain offering the Fairy Tail wizards a ride back home since… he actually didn't think of that. With a nod, the captain of the S.S Gyarados went back to his ship.
"So where to first?" Gray asked the Sinnoh resident. He, like the others, wanted to explore the town while they could. However, before Kevin could even say a word...
"Vul?" A small noise came next to Gray, causing him to look down. Much to his and everyone else's shock, it was an unusual creature, most likely a Pokemon. It was a small, quadrupedal fox-like Pokemon with snow white fur, pale blue paws, blue eyes, a cute button nose and dark blue insides its ears. In addition to this, it had several locks on white hair on its head and a bushy white with six tails that curled up. Finally, the Pokemon seemed to have a blue collar around its neck. The white Pokemon seemed to be looking at Gray in particular.
"Awwww…" Most of the girls cooed at how cute this small Pokemon was while the guys simply looked at it.
"Is this another Pokemon?" Lily asked Kevin, who nodded.
"Yeah. It looks like a Vulpix, but… it's different." Kevin stated as Gray kneeled down and offered a hand to the Pokemon.
"Hey there." Gray said to it, to which the Vulpix sniffed his hand before licking it. It then began rubbing against Gray's hand with a small pur. A smile crept on Gray's hand as he began petting it. "So you're a Vulpix, huh?"
'My darling is so kind to other Pokemon! He's amazing!' Juvia thought with a dreamy expression.
"What do you mean it's different?" Lisanna questioned Kevin, who took out his Pokedex and began typing on it.
"This is what a Vulpix is supposed to look like." Kevin explained before he showed them his Pokedex. However, the image showed a Pokemon that was much different from what Gray was petting.
The Vulpix on the Pokedex has a reddish-brown pelt with a cream-colored underbelly. It has brown eyes, large, pointed ears with dark brown insides, and a triangular dark brown nose. Its paws are slightly darker than the rest of its pelt and have light brown paw pads. On top of its head are three curled locks of orange fur with bangs, and it has orange tails with curled tips.
"Vulpix, the Fox Pokemon. A Fire type. It manipulates balls of fire to catch its prey. If you raise one from when it's young, it will grow close to you like a puppy Pokémon."
"A Fire type?" Happy questioned curiously.
"Yeah. And from what the Pokedex is telling me, it should be red. So why is it white?" Kevin asked while scratching the back of his head.
"Maybe someone painted it?" Natsu suggested before he kneeled down next to Vulpix, getting its attention. "Hey, can you use fire? Like this?" He then took out his hand, creating a small fire with it.
"VUL!" However, rather than be interested in the flames, the white Vulpix yelped in fear, running behind Gray. It poked its head out and looked at Natsu fearfully.
"Good job, Natsu. You scared it." Lucy scolded with a frown.
"What? I want to see if it can use fire." Natsu reasoned while putting out his flames. He did feel a bit guilty for scaring such a cute Pokemon, but it was unintentional.
"I don't think it likes fire." Gray told everyone while patting Vulpix on the head to calm it down. "Its fur feels cold." Mirajane kneeled down and rubbed Vulpix's back, surprised to feel it was both soft and cold.
"Gray's right." Mirajane said with a slightly surprised tone. She noticed the collar and pulled up the small tag it had. "Snowy? That's your name, isn't it?"
"Vulpix." Vulpix said its name with a smile, now calmed down from the sudden fire. It always hated fire, the flame being too warm. It much preferred the cold.
"If it has a collar, maybe it has an ow-I mean trainer." Wendy quickly corrected herself while looking at the white Pokemon in concern.
"Greninja, mind asking Snowy where her trainer is?" Kevin asked his partner, who nodded.
"Ninja, Gren." Greninja began speaking with Snowy, who looked at him curiously. However, before Snowy could say anything-
"SNOWY! WHERE ARE YOU?!" A female voice called out from the distance, with the white Vulpix perking up before running towards the speaker.
'Hang on, that voice…' Kevin thought, his eyes widening a bit as he and the others saw Snowy's owner.
It was a young teenage girl who looked a year younger than Kevin with slightly tan skin, blue hair that reached her back with small parts of her hair tied on each side of her head, and matching colored eyes. Her attire consisted of a sleeveless black top with a short pink skirt, a small white shirt being seen from her black shirt, a small bracelet on her right wrist and a device on her other wrist, knee high black socks with long pink boots, a small red scarf around her neck, a white beanie with a pink Pokeball symbol on the middle and a yellow backpack.
"Vulpix! Vul!" The white Vulpix called out while running to the girl, making her gasp.
"Snowy!" The girl cried out in joy as Snowy jumped into her arms, allowing her to hug it. "I was so worried! You shouldn't run off like that, silly!" Snowy howled a bit in joy, not realizing how concerned her trainer was.
"Well, that settles that." Erza said, a smile on her face as she and the others witnessed such a nice moment. However, Kevin and Greninja walked towards the girl.
"You were always bad at making sure to keep your Pokemon close. Then again, that was always the fun part of our journey together." Kevin spoke up, getting the girl look at him before she let out a stunned gasp. "It's been too long, Dawny."
"Kevin… is that you?" The girl questioned, much to the curiosity of the others. Did they know each other or something? However, her suspicions were confirmed as soon as she saw Greninja, who looked at her with his arms crossed. "IT IS YOU!" Without warning, the girl lunged at Kevin, embracing him with one of her arms.
"Dawn… too… tight…" Kevin squealed, shocked by the amount of strength Dawn was using on him.
"Oh, sorry." Dawn stepped back with a sheepish smile, a bit embarrassed by the strong hug. She then turned her attention to Greninja, who felt sweat run down his head. "Don't think I'm forgetting you, Greninja. Come here!" The Water starter from Kalos could only croak(hehehe) as Dawn also gave him a hug, though this one wasn't as hard as the one she gave his trainer. Still, as a prideful Pokemon, Greninja felt very embarrassed about showing open affection such as hugs, as evident by the blush on his cheeks.
"This just got weirder and weirder." Gajeel commented out loud with a bored tone. He just wanted to get this little tour over with, yet now it looked like Kevin was reuniting with an old girlfriend or something.
"Come on, be nice." Levy jabbed his chest playful, to which he scoffed.
"I guess introductions should be made before we start asking questions." Kevin said while fixing his clothes and coughing in his hand. "Guys, this is my old friend and sort of rival, Dawn Hikari. Dawn, this is-" However, the moment Kevin looked at his friend, he stopped talking. "Ummm…"
"I-I-I…" Dawn finally saw who was behind her childhood friend and to say she was shocked would be a BIG understatement. She unconsciously released Greninja(much to his relief) and lazing let go of Snowy while looking at the Fairy Tail wizards.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asked the blunette with a slightly concerned tone.
"Y-Y-You're… all of you… Fairy… all of…" Dawn began stuttering random words, her eyes the size of dinner plates while her jaw dropped.
"I think she's broken." Happy theorized with a paw raised.
"Fairy… Fairy… Fairrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy…" Unable to find the right words, Dawn did the next best thing.
*THUD*
She fainted.
Everyone was shocked by what happened, with some of them even sweatdropping. "Well… that happened." Cana commented somewhat dryly.
"Pix?" Snowy walked up to her trainer's side, poking her head with its paw. However, Dawn didn't react.
"Great. Honestly, I didn't think she would actually faint when she saw you guys." Kevin said with a thin line on his lips, looking down at his friend.
"So she's a fan? That… makes sense in a way." Carla stated. "Should someone wake her up?"
"We got it. Greninja?" Kevin asked his partner, who sighed while shaking his head. Greninja kneeled next to the fainted Dawn before aiming one of his hands, firing a small stream of water onto her face.
"GUAH!" The cold liquid being shot on her face was enough to snap Dawn back in reality, causing her to sit up. Dawn then began wiping her face, giving Kevin an annoyed glare. "What was that for?!"
"You were passed out and Greninja was right here. Kinda self explanatory, Dawny." Kevin joked with a shrug before he helped her up. "Still, I didn't expect to see you here."
"I can say the same. Especially with THE Fairy Tail behind you!" Dawn exaggerated while gesturing to the group. Fixing herself up, she gave them a bow. "H-Hi, I'm Hikari Dawn… I mean Hawn Dikari… I MEAN DAWN HIKARI!"
"Nice to meet you, Dawn." Mirajane was the first to talk to her with her ever so bright smile. "Snowy is adorable."
"W-Wow. Thank you." Dawn replied with a blush as she picked up her Pokemon. "She's actually from the Alola Islands."
"Hang on, Alola? How does that explain why it's white and cold?" Kevin questioned, wanting to know more about Snowy.
*Grrrr*
However, an audible grumble was heard coming from Natsu and Gajeel's stomachs, making the former grin sheepishly. "Hehehe, looks like I'm hungry." Natsu said while rubbing the back of his neck.
"You had breakfast a while ago and now you're hungry? Classic Natsu." Lisanna teased with a giggle.
"If you want, I can show you to a good cafe… if that's okay." Dawn offered, a bit nervous about eating with her favorite wizards.
"Is there cake?" Erza asked in a serious tone, making Dawn gulp.
"... Yes?" Dawn answered meekly. She then jumped when Erza placed a metal hand on her shoulder… and smiled happily.
"Then we accept your offer, miss Hikari." The others nodded in agreement, not minding a bit of food before the tour. Dawn was surprised before a big smile broke out on her face as she picked up Snowy.
"Follow me!" She said cheerfully before making her way towards the cafe, with Kevin and Greninja next to her.
"By the way… Snowy?" Kevin asked with a cheeky tone, making his childhood friend pout.
"Shut up… I think it's cute."
"Cute, but basic."
"I hate you."
"I know."
But little did they know… there was something else going on in the back.
On another ship, the cargo was being taken down, with many of the crew either working or taking a much needed break. However, they failed to see two figures sneaking past them, each dressed in dark blue cloaks with a white outline on the edge. They continued to sneak until they were away from the ship, moving towards a nearby tree.
"It doesn't look like we were followed. Good." The first and taller of the two said in a serious tone.
"Did we really need to sneak in? I'm sure they would've let us ride if we paid." The shorter one, a female, stated, to which her companion sighed.
"I know. But we don't have the money to pay for a ride. You know that?"
"Yeah, I know. Still…" The two then removed their hoods to reveal their faces and blue and pink hair. "But are you sure they're here?"
"My contact hasn't been wrong. Besides, I'd rather not take the chance of the Rune Knights arresting us." The man with blue hair stated stoically while looking at the bright sky. This was his first time in the Crystal Empire and so far, it was nice. Much different than Fiore.
"I'm not doubting you, Jellal. But we are in a new place." The pinkette reasoned with a frown. However, she noticed a Butterfree fly in front of her, giving her a curious look before flying away. "Then again, there are worse places to be."
"For now, we just need to lay low. He said he would meet us here tonight. We'll be fine, Meredy."
Jellal Fernandez and Meredy of Crime Sorciere were ready for their mission.
Not the most action packed chapter, I will confess. But it at least sets the groundwork for what will come. So as you can tell, seventh generation Pokemon will be a major factor in the story and given how it was discovered, it makes sense Kevin doesn't know about it.
Like in the original story, Dawn will appear from time to time and is Kevin's friend. She is one of my favorite female trainers in Pokemon, so of course I will add her. And as you can see with Alolan Vulpix, she will have different Pokemon. Though let me know if you guys want Gray to have his own Alolan Vulpix. I won't keep any Alolan forms off the table as long as I can make it work.
And finally, Jellal and Meredy are here. I wonder what their storyline will work out. You'll just have to wait and see.
But anyways, this is the first story I'm updating for 2021, so I hope it was worth it.
