Several days later Ariena drove herself and Emmett Bravic to the Alderney apartment, knocking on the door "215", immediately hearing barking at the door, eventually replied with an annoyed "Shut up!" from inside the room. More barks. "Jody I said shut up!" The voice repeated, now right outside the door, this time the animal finally listening, with a small whimper.
The door opens to Katie Bellic inside, wearing a blue sundress, and her white dyed hair covered by a backwards cap, which was also blue. "Oh, it's you." Katie replied, somewhat deadpan.
"Hey cuz." Ariena waved, wearing her usual blue outfit, jeans and t-shirt. Even her nails are blue, as well as parts of her hair. So her favourite color is obvious. Kate has white nails to go with her hair. Which is actually brown.
"You remember Emmett right?" Ariena said, pulling him over with a side hug.
"Yeah, I remember him being in chains." Katie snarked.
"It.. It was dad's idea." Ariena said nervously. "We need to hide…"
"Fine, but this is the last time I'm harbouring you." Katie groaned, in a tone that suggests this happens all too regularly, but still letting them inside. Once seeing her the black lab immediately jumps on Ariena, trying to lick her. He definitely remembers her.
"Down, I don't have treats this time." Ariena said, pulling him away gently. Emmett going in more nervously, expecting the dog to be less friendly to new faces, but the dog did not sense a threat, and at most just ignored him. Which Emmett notices and calms down, casually closing the door behind himself.
"Where's Liz?" Ariena asked, referring to Lily.
"Still at the party." Katie replied, Jody the dog seen behind her as he heads back to the kitchen. Hopefully he'll become a recurring character in this one.
It's revealed the New Years party at Pinkie Lancer's apartment is still going on. Pink still holding the x-box while chatting with the others and everyone cheers after the countdown, except Lazlow who's still pouting and finds Lily coming back from the washroom and makes a deal with her steal the x-box and give to Lazlow. After a whole bunch of snarking she eventually agrees, but once they return to the gift exchange game she instead steals a present from the still unopened ones.
This immediately causes Lazlow to snap at her, sarcastically complimenting her decision, and eventually reveals that he himself was the one who bought the x-box. Lily is actually seen trying not to laugh. She's probably one of the few people who actually finds him funny. In turn he does seem to like her more than most others. Even said earlier rant is still much nicer than he would have been to any of the others. He's mainly just sarcastic, hence her response.
"Woah hey, you can't pick your own gifts." Sachi replied.
"Well how bout this Sachi, this game is stupid, and I hate your face!" Lazlow cried angrily. Sachi doesn't even look angry. In fact she looked confused, asking herself 'what just happened?'.
Lily actually lets out a snicker.
"I'm sorry he just gets me." Lily replied, after she caught Sachi looking over at her.
"Wait if you wanted an xbox why did you put in a gift exchange?" Jeremy asked.
"Jee I don't know, why'd the Grinch give all the presets back!?" Lazlow asked rhetorically, Jeremy not replying, mostly out of confusion of what that even meant.
"Woah bro, you live here, we're neighbours we can just share it. Now calm down and have another beer." Pinkie insisted, Lazlow annoyedly sits down. But without warning he literary grabs the system and runs out the apartment building, his car heard speeding away.
"… He literary lives here so I don't know where he's going." Pinkie groaned.
Lazlow does have a very "pet the dog" relationship with Lily.. Being he's actually nice to her.. Even though it's mainly for pragmatic reasons (AKA: not wanting to lose his only fan).
