Chapter 22: The Snake of Greed
It was so dark inside the Cave of the Wonders that the Toonateers' eyes were only seen.
"Geh! It's so dark! I'm scared! Turpley, hold me," said Tintley.
"Somebody hit the lights! I can't see squat," said Turpley.
"Again, who raised you to speak like that?!" Gus said.
"Wait! Mad Doc said something about a few surprises on my remote. Maybe I could use it to create some light," Oswald said.
When the antennas of his remote lit up, Mickey covered his eyes while shouting, "Ouch! Too bright!"
"Sorry, Mickers."
"Looky here, everyone. This staircase can lead us downward. We might be close to Princess Jasmine," said Ortensia, walking down.
As the Toonateers goes down, the place looks like Le Passage Enchanté d'Aladdin (French for Aladdin's Enchanted Passage), a walkthrough attraction at Disneyland Paris. They soon arrive at the treasure area filled with the same items in the real Cave of Wonders, along with E-Tickets, Disney antiques, Disney collectibles, Disney rarities, Disney limited things, and all items from the Disney Vault.
"Ah, yes. It's all here. I can't believe all of Wasteland's treasures lived for this long," said Gus.
"Ortensia, look! It's the reel of the film when you first appeared," Oswald picked up a reel called "The Banker's Daughter."
"That one was a wild work of art, and the day I first met you, Ozzie," said Ortensia.
But Mickey walked to a large letter that shocked him while balling his fist close to his Heart.
"Mickey, what's with the still emotional formation?" Turpley asks.
"Wow. Is that you and Oswald together? Hmm, Oct 1, 1935…Sincerely, Walt Disney," said Tintley.
"Daddy Disney?!" Oswald said, going close to Mickey.
Both brothers stared at the Oswald meeting Mickey in Walt Disney's enlarged letter to Universal founder Carl Laemmle, dated 1935. Ortensia and Gus came over to it for a moment of silence to see it.
"To Carl Laemmle- In memory of the days I produced Oswald for Universal- Best Wishes Always. Sincerely. Walt Disney," Gus read out loud.
Oswald slowly walks towards the letter and touches where Walt's signature.
Tears fell from his cheeks, and he said, "All this time…All this time…I thought he had forgotten about me…Now that I know he never did and still loves me…I never got a chance to tell him goodbye…when he passed on."
Mickey hugged Oswald in comfort and said with teary eyes, "You should've seen me when I and others watched him die. I was a mess, a total wreck. It's like half of myself was taken away. I couldn't do anything but watch. He still has plans and ideas to give out. Uncle Roy continued to make his ideas until it was his turn to pass on. They scattered his ashes in the Disney family garden in the Court of Freedom section of Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Even a lamp in Disneyland's Fire Dep might have his spirit in it. Mom Lilly lived for so long as did Sister Diane."
After the two half-brothers dried their tears, Mickey said as the Toonateers ran, "But let's get back to protecting our Father's legacy. Jasmine might be where the Magic Lamp is, and we might find BlotToon Jafar."
But when reaching the area, the three Generals were sitting on a balcony for BlotToon Mickey to say, "Ugh, spoiler alert! Sorry, BlotToon Jafar. Your entrance was ruined."
"Hey, how did you three-?" Mickey asks.
"We took the back route."
The Toonateers looked at the back entrance and groaned in disappointment. BlotToon Jafar, disappointed with a red Magic Lamp for a heart, came out from the Magic Lamp's resting place.
Pete Pan and his Sprite came out from behind and said, "Wow. You're such a buzzkill, Mickey. Just like your brother. Must run in the family."
"Hey! I prefer predictable," said Oswald.
"There for as your punishment."
He claps his hands twice to show the same giant hourglass in Aladdin while in his mirror prison.
"Jasmine," said the three Generals, concerned.
"Mickey? Mickey Mouse, get me out of here!" she said.
"You get to watch Jasmine drown in the sand because whatever touches the mirror will go in," Pete Pan continued. "Next, BlotToon Mickey will eat that gift again."
"Aw, really? I want to save room for the popcorn. Eh, it's fun to piss Mickey off," he said before swallowing it whole.
"Seriously? Why say the p-word?" Mickey annoyed.
"And then Jafar will have Toonateer snacks! Hasta la vista, Ortensia baby!" said Pete Pan before fleeing with his Sprite.
"Hey, don't flirt with my wife!" Oswald yelled.
"Didn't he say Jafar will have Toonateer snacks?" Tintley questioned.
The Toonateers slowly turn to BlotToon Jafar before he turns into a version of Jafar's snake.
"Eat 'em up, Jafar," BlotToon Ortensia commanded.
"Gus, please tell me you got some snake repellent on ya?" Oswald said as the Toonateers scrambled not to get eaten.
"Sorry, Oswald. No room with all of the other items we need" said Gus.
"Wait, I got it! Gather around, Toonateers," said Mickey.
When they huddled up, they whispered in hush tones, making BlotToon Jafar Snake curious. He gets close to them to listen, but Mickey takes out a bugle made from Paint and Thinner and blows loud at his face. Angered, BlotToon Jafar Snake slithers after him.
"Team, get ready!" Mickey shouted.
"Over here, Mickers!" said Oswald before hiding behind a pillar.
"Get ready, Ozzie-san."
When Mickey passes by, Oswald grabs BlotToon Jafar Snake's tail and ties it to the pillar.
"Alright. Phase 1 is done. Honeybunch, you're up!" said Oswald.
"You got it, Honeybunny," Ortensia replied while placing a log on top of two stones.
Mickey goes underneath the log, over it, and then underneath again so BlotToon Jafar Snake can do the same while he continues the chase. Gus is working on a pipe while Tintley paints an X on the floor. Mickey then passes the X, so BlotToon Jafar Snake gets on it. Turpley, on the other hand, is Thinner out the hourglasses for the sand to come out.
"Hey, BlotToon Jafar! Are you hungry? Have some lava chili! Let him have it, Gus and Tintley," said Mickey.
"Yes, Mickey," said Gus and Tintley, turning the valve.
As BlotToon Jafar Snake roars, lava goes into his mouth, and he begins to heat up so fast that he becomes solid as a rock. After the valve is turned off, the Toonateers cheer as the Guardians is free from within him. They soon go over to Jasmine's mirror prison to set her free and make it disappear. Jasmine stood there dizzy before Mickey caught her from falling.
"Jasmine, how are you feeling?" Mickey asks.
"Dizzy, but alright. Let's get out of here."
"To Bog Easy through the back entrance," said Gus.
The Toonateers walk away while Mickey and Oswald help Jasmine. The three Generals then go to the stoned BlotToon Jafar snake to pickaxes the now black Magic Lamp Heart. BlotToon Ortensia takes out the suitcase for BlotToon Mickey to place the Heart in its spot.
"Seven more to collect," said BlotToon Mickey.
"At least patience is what we three have," said BlotToon Oswald.
"Not the readers, of course," BlotToon Ortensia joked.
