Loonatics: United

The Wrath of Tenebrous

Episode 134: Disparate hearts

The sun of the morning brightened the green of the grass and illuminated the rocky surface of the rocky mounds. Duck, Rev and Lexi walked after exiting Ely's house. "So, what you guys gonna do?" Rev said while stretching out his legs.

Lexi shrugged. "I don't know."

"Me neither, I was gonna play hide and seek but I don't see that kid around." Duck replied.

"Hm, well I'd like to join you guys in your passiveness but I'm gonna run some laps around the place." Rev said.

"Okay." Duck said with disinterest.

"Alrighty, see ya!" Rev left with his super speed.

Lexi sighed. "I just wanna be with him."

Duck raised an eyebrow. "Wh…Rev?"

Lexi grunted. "No, idiot, Ace. My boy."

"Oh, sorry, you didn't specify." Duck argued.

Lexi shook her head. "Just shut up al…" Her eyes widened when seeing Ace walking towards them.

"Well, it seems I'm gonna be alone today… unless you want me to join you." Duck looked at her, she gave him a serious gaze. "Okay, have fun guys." He walked away from her.

"Hey baby." Ace smiled at her then hugged her strongly.

"Oh, hey sweet!" Lexi chuckled. "What's with the new clothes?"

Ace broke the hug. "Kufai gave them to me, we started training today."

"That's nice, but, aren't you black belt in karate already?" Lexi inquired.

"Yeah, but this is something else, I mean he kicked my tail, like, badly." Ace explained.

"Aw, you okay?" Lexi caressed his face.

"Yes, Zaji cured me." Ace stroked her arm. "Kufai gave me the rest of the day, so…" He approached her and kissed her. "…we can have some time for us."

Lexi chuckled while blushing. "You read my mind, Ace." She kissed him back while wrapping her arms around his neck. "What you got in mind?"

"I don't know." Ace looked away, glaring at the trees and bushes that surrounded the village. "Wanna explore a bit?" He glared back at her while poking her nose cutely. "Have a long walk, just me and you?" Ace kissed her cheek, then looked back into her eyes, caressing her face lovingly.

Lexi let out a sigh of bliss. "I'd love that." She rested her head on his chest.

Tech and Slam were in the living room, along with the Maniacs. Akinyi, Edison and Randy were sitting on the couch while the rest were standing. Akinyi let out a yawn while patting her belly. "I'm full."

"Same." Edison replied.

"We should take a nap." Akinyi proposed.

"Nap? We just woke up, we should go outside." Tech said. "Take some fresh air."

"Thanks, grandpa." Akinyi joked, then yawned again. "I prefer to stay here."

"Yeah, me too." Edison said.

"You're making me look bad, guys." Vale crossed his arms and let out a sigh. "What about you, Randy? Wanna go explore a bit again?"

"Uhm, sure, yeah." Randy stood up from the couch.

Tech, Slam, Vale and Randy exited the house. "So, you wanna see the lake?" Vale glanced at Tech and Slam.

"Lake? You bet!" Tech responded with enthusiasm. "What type of lake is it?"

"Uhm, a lake, lake." Vale replied while raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah but, I mean is it a fluvial lake, aeolian, landslide maybe?" Tech asked.

"I don't know, man." Vale replied.

Duck was sitting on a rock, over a slightly sloping spot, surrounded by the tall and green trees. "So bored." He sighed. "I wish someone was here to have a chat at least." Rev appeared before him all of a sudden, leaving a fading red trace behind. Duck let out a sigh. "I had to speak."

"Hey man what you doing?" Rev cleaned off a bit of sweat from his forehead.

"I'm sitting on a rock, don't you see?" Duck glanced at him with a straight face.

"Oh cool, well it's not that cool for me but if that's your idea of fun I respect you." Rev smiled at him while giving him a thumbs up.

"Thanks." Duck said carelessly.

"Mind if join you man? I need to recharge my battery a bit. Just kidding I could do this all day but I mean you don't seem that happy." Rev said.

Duck looked at him for a moment, then sighed and moved a bit to make a spot for Rev to sit down. Rev approached the rock and sat down next to Duck. "Sweet, this thing is comfortable…and warm."

"Yeah, I wonder why?" Duck rolled up his eyes.

Rev nodded for a few moments while glaring around. "And what are you thinking about man?"

"Nothing." Duck replied with apathy.

"That's impossible no one is capable of thinking about nothing." Rev said.

Duck sighed. "What's the point of this conversation?"

"I…guess there isn't, it's just a conversation, nothing else." Rev chuckled. He rapidly adopted a worried face when glaring at Duck. "You okay, man?"

"Yes." Duck replied.

"Hm, maybe you need some privacy I will leave if y…" Rev was interrupted.

"It's not that." Duck replied then glanced down with thoughtfulness. "I'm just remembering, okay?" He shook his head and let out a sigh. "My time in the orphanage."

"Oh." Rev expressed.

"The kids kicking me, the nasty food, that rusty playground. They're memories that just, uhm, stay." Duck looked into his comrade's eyes. "They never leave, and I…" He sighed. "I hate that."

Rev looked into his eyes with compassion, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You made new ones with us, you're making new ones right now. New memories man, a new life." He patted his shoulder gently.

"I know. It's only that, well, I see the kids here, specially this one, uhm, Jay. He is some kind of misfit here just as I was back in the day." Duck looked away.

"Do you fear that he won't have, well, happy memories of his childhood or something?" Rev inquired.

"No." Duck's voice started to break. "I mean, he has no friends but..." A tear ran down his face. "H...he's got his parents." He began to cry, still trying to hold his feelings with no success. "Mine just…they just ditched me." He sobbed with deep sorrow.

Rev hugged him. "Oh, man." He patted his back gently. "You have us."

Duck embraced him tightly, crying on his shoulder. "As if…I was nothing."

"But you are man you're valuable you understand?" Rev reassured.

Duck sobbed. "Mhm."

"You have a family." Rev stroked his back. "Everything is fine bud."

Two beastly outlanders were fighting to death between each other. A male wolf dressed with white clothes, same as his rival, a female sheep. Alfons observed the fight while sitting on the pilot seat, having a glass of whisky, wearing a black bathrobe. The King Sword was leaning against the seat. He had left on only a couple of lights in the cockpit. The wolf was smashing the head of the sheep against the floor, the sheep screeched loudly while moving her limbs with desperation. "Come on! Put up a fight already, darling!" He shook his head and took a sip from his whisky. "He's killing you already."

The sheep's screeches vanished after a while, the floor was spilled with blood, the wolf screeched monstrously, still smashing her head, even if she was already dead. Alfons sighed. "Pathetic." He let out a yawn. "I thought this would be way funnier, honestly." He shrugged. "Oh well." Alfons took the sword and swung it slightly. "You can start eating her now." The wolf started to eat the sheep, ingesting her raw flesh, blood and bone voraciously. "Do it slowly, would you?" Alfons lowered down the sword, resting it against the seat. The wolf now ate her with a much slower and calm pace, just as Alfons had ordered, making him smirk before taking another sip of his whisky.

Duck was still sobbing while Rev patted his back. "We'll never leave you behind man, okay?"

Duck nodded. "I know." He looked at him with a smirk. "Thanks man."

Rev smiled back. "No problem. That's what family is for."
