"Alright, dude and dudette, In order to defeat me, you'll have to be in complete harmony with your animal spirits and get very lucky." Those were the words that came out of RJ's mouth as Jaune and Weiss were circling around him. RJ was also wearing a blindfold to make it easier for them and more fun.
"Come on Jaune, he's all ours." Weiss said confidently while Jaune was more timid.
"Are you sure about this RJ, I don't wanna hurt you by accident?" Jaune asked his master.
"Ah, I'm using the swoop technique." He answers before saying in a cheeky tone. "Eyesight is just a bonus, not a necessity." He pulled both his arms behind his back before saying. "Hit me with your best shot." With that, the two students ran at him. Jaune came with a superman punch while Weiss backed him up with a kick to RJ's liver. RJ was able to block both attacks at the same time before pushing both of them away. Jaune tried a haymaker before the attack was caught mid-swing before he used Jaune's arm to block another attack from Weiss.
He held both of them still for a few seconds before he kicked Jaunes lets out and waited for Weiss to make a move. Weiss went for a kick to the legs but RJ jumped over the attack before moving away from another attack from Jaune. Weiss and Jaune tried to attack simultaneously, but RJ bednet his body to dodge both attacks before spinning on the ground and kicking their legs out. Weiss jumped up from the floor before going on a flurry of attacks with each one dodged with ease by RJ. RJ took a step back from an attack before kicking Weiss hard enough to have her collapse to the floor.
Jaune tried a sneak attack but RJ ducked under it before taking a hold of his arm and shoulder throwing him to the mat. With that, both students were defeated.
"How are you so strong." Jaune asked as he panted on the floor while looking up at RJ.
"I do a lot of yoga." He answered the young aspiring huntsmen before walking to his TVs. "I think that this is enough for today. I want you guys to take some time to internalize your defeat while I watch some judge Jamie." He said before sitting down on his couch and turning on the tv.
Jaune watched as Weiss went to her room before he looked over to his own room with the blue ranger in it. It had been a few weeks since the night Jack came to the parlor, with a bloodied, bruised, and haunted look to him. He hadn't even left that room in few weeks unless it was for going to the bathroom. Jaune, Weiss, and RJ had no idea what happened that night to make him like this. The only thing Weiss and RJ seem to come to a conclusion about was that he was in a bad mood after being bailed out of jail.
Jaune didn't believe that and thought that there was something more going on but since Jack didn't talk, he didn't know what. The yellow ranger walked over to RJ before kneeling down to level with him.
"Hey RJ, I need you to teach me something." Jaune asked his master as he turned to him.
"I just did, I'm on break now." RJ answered Jaune and Jaune frowned at that.
"You need to teach me more, I'm so far behind Jack and Weiss." RJ turned with a confused look to him.
"What do you mean you are behind Jack, on the contrary, you are superior." RJ started out by saying. "Jack may be the better fighter out of you two, but you are smarter, more tactical, and sometimes stronger than him. Jack has been focusing on strength instead of what he is good at. He doesn't even try to fight dirty or stealthily anymore. He is all about power when that is not what his animal spirit is about. You will win most of the time until he starts using dirty or stealth moves." Jaune could feel the confidence start to bubble within him.
"But I still need you to teach me." RJ looked at him with a serious look.
"Okay, but if we do this, you have to do whatever I say, that's the only way." Jaune nodded with enthusiasm. "Good, rub my shoulders." RJ ordered before he reclined the couch.
"Like right now."
"Yeah." Jaune stood up before he walked around and started to rub RJ's shoulder the best he could. It took a few minutes before the tv channel changed to show the Rinshi warriors and a young woman has stolen something.
"Oh yeah, the old museum heist, typical." RJ said before he looked at the two rangers. "Go and get them." RJ said.
"What about Jack, is he coming." Jaune asked as Weiss answered.
"We don't have time to try and convince him right now." The team leader answered while Jaune looked hesitant.
Jaune and Weiss started to run out before RJ added something. "And be ready for anything. She's a feisty one." RJ took hold of a bowl of popcorn to eat while watching everything at home.
"You aren't going anywhere." Weiss shouted as both she and Jaune ran up to meet their evil opponents.
"Oh, the power rangers, how sweet." Camille said before she glared at them. "Attack." she ordered her Rinshi warriors before they did. both the Red ranger and Yellow ranger rant at them.
Jaune slid under an attack from a Rinshi warrior, before kicking the legs out of the same warrior. As Jaune was still low on the ground, he use his hands to spin around while kicking. Three Rinshi warriors came flying backward from the attacks before he jumped up and landed on his legs. The yellow ranger blocked attacks from two different Rinhsi warriors before catching their attack. He swings them around while hitting other Rinshi warriors before throwing them away.
Jaune blocked an attack but it make him take a few steps back before bumping into something. He turned his head to see Weiss before they switch places and attacked each other's opponents. Both of them turned to each other before taking a hold of each other's hands, while Jaune started to swing Weiss around. While Weiss was being spun around, she started to kick everything she could before Jaune let her go. As she fell from the air, she dropkicked a Rinshi warrior.
Weiss ducked under an attack before counting it with an uppercut and a knee to the Rinshi warrior's face. The red ranger jumped up in the air before doing a dropkick to the Rinshi and followed that up with a right hook to another Rishi warrior. Weiss saw an attack coming before she did a slip, and use her hands to swing around and kick the Rinshi warrior in the chin. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see the woman start to run away from the battle.
"Jaune got her, I'll hold the Rinshi warriors off." Jaune turned to Weiss before he nodded and ran after the woman. Jaune ran as fast as he could to catch up to the woman before he was able to grab her.
"Got you." Jaune said before he was thrown to the ground hard and fast. Jaune quickly rolled to the side to dodge a kick to the head before he got onto his two feet. Jaune saw as the woman turned into a green Chameleon before they ran at each other. Jaune went for a kick but the woman did a cartwheel over it and landed on her legs. Jaune tried to punch her but she kicked his arms away. Jaune started to send out a flurry of attacks at the woman, only for her to dodge them with ease. She uses her palms to strike Jaune's chest and blows him away from her. Jaune rolled on the ground for a few seconds before he quickly go up from the ground.
"Where did she go." Jaune asked after seeing that the woman was no longer anywhere to be seen. Jaune turned around after hearing a noise and saw the Chameleon woman jumping off a side of a building at him. The woman superman punch Jaune, and from the punch, had his body slammed to the ground. Jaune's body hit the ground before bouncing back up and having the lady punch him in the face and sent him flying into a wall.
Jaune crashed through the wall before some rubble fell down upon him. Jaune started to remove the rubble before he saw that the woman was gone.
"Damnit." Jaune cursed for the first time in his entire life.
"I should have had her." Jaune said in frustration as he and Weiss were walking toward RJ.
"Don't take it so hard Jaune." RJ said as he looked at the two. "Camille is Dai Shi's ill-tempered servant and user of the Chameleon Spirit, allowing her to use camouflaging abilities and a battle-ready tongue. She is also very well-trained when it comes to martial arts. So no matter how hard you tried, you still couldn't beat her in your current state." RJ explained to Jaune and he somewhat felt a little better, before he realize the implication of him being very weak. "And I think you broke my chair."
"Forget the chair, teach me something." Jaune asked before RJ picked up a screwdriver and gave it to Jaune.
"Fix my chair." He simply said
"But."
"Remember whatever I say." With that RJ walked away.
The Everynight castle is situated in the Land of Darkness and shares its color scheme of shades of violets, purples, reddish sky, and black for shadows. Camille was walking down a hallway with a bag in her hands while a few Rinshi warriors were behind her. Camille was making her way to the conference hall as she was about to meet with her master and master's accomplice, Salem.
Camille knew that Salem wanted the same thing her master wanted with the humans gone for the world. But Camille couldn't help but wonder why she had human underlings. The green Chameleon shook her head before she let the thought go and looked forward again.
Camille opened the doors to the conference hall and was met with two people, her master, and Salem. Salem's skin is currently a deathly pallor, with jet-black sclerae in her eyes and glowing crimson irises that shine brighter when she is agitated. Her master on the other hand took the form of a Faunus. His new form had a pair of dog ears that was very fluffy and red eyes that glowed. He was around 5'10 and had a very dark skin tone.
"You came here after failing to kill the power ranger, you truly are worthless." Her master said as his deep voice rumbled.
"Well, that's about to change." Camille said not letting the harsh words get to her. "Rinshi." The green Chameleon snapped her fingers together before one Rinshi warrior jumped forward. "This bag contains the angry spirit of the buffalo. When I unleash its power on this Rinshi." She said before she took hold of the same Rinshi when he tried to back away from her. "It will become the most menacing beast in the land." She turned back to her master with a smile. "It will destroy the city and the power ranger."
"Oh my, it seems like your servant had been working hard." Salem said as she looked at the eight-headed dragon in human form. The dragon huffed before looking down at his subordinate. "Now dear, why don't you show us." Salem purred out loud before Camille did what she was told. Camille opened the bag before blueish dust started to fly out of the bag and formed into a small buffalo head.
Camille took a hold of the head before she place it on top of the RInshi warrior's forehead. When she placed it, a dark purple aura surrounded him before he transformed. No longer stood there a Rinshi warrior but now stood a Rinshi beast warrior. "I give you Baffalord." Camille said before the Baffalord let out a roar and started to show off his moves.
Both evil overlords smile at the sight.
Jaune let out a grunt as he spins the screwdriver for what felt like a hundred times today. Jaune spin the screwdriver again but this time it was a bit harder to turn it as he let out another grunt before he let out a sigh.
"There it's fixed." Jaune said as he looked at RJ before pulling his arm back and rubbing his arm. "And my forearms will never be the same again." Jaune informed his master as he was in a meditative state.
"Great job, Jaune."
"Thanks, so maybe we can now get some one-on-one training." When RJ was about to say something, he got up from the yoga mat and looked at him.
"How about you wash my yoga mat, I think that something is growing on it." RJ said before he took a sniff of it and pulled his head back in disgust.
"Wash your, yoga mat." Jaune asked his master and RJ just reminded him what they agreed upon. Jaune took a sniff of the mat before he pulled his head back and felt like throwing up. How could it smell so bad? It only took Jaune a few minutes before he got everything ready and started to wash the disgusting-smelling mat his master is using. With everything prepped, Jaune began to start to wash the mat in his hands.
As Jaune was washing the yoga mat in the water before he started to spin it around and let the water out. He dropped the mat into the water again before doing the same thing again. Just when Jaune was about to let it into the water again, RJ said something.
"Don't forget to squeeze and shake." RJ informed his student while Jaune just glared at the floor. RJ watched as Jaune did what he was told to him before complaining. "Oh, you can do better than that. Come on, give it a good shake." Jaune gave it the best shake he could. Weiss came walking down to the floor while watching Jaune clean the mat before she pitches her nose.
"What in the world is that smell?" Weiss as while he still had her nose covered. But before she could get an answer, they heard a beeping sound goes off. Everyone turned to the TVs to see that the city was under attack again.
"Let's go Weiss." Jaune said before they ran out once again.
I looked up to the dark ceiling while my stomach was growling hungrily. I didn't know how long I have been on this bed, but it felt like weeks. I couldn't get that night out of my head or my mind, it was like it was on replay. I had killed a man in cold blood. I could remember everything so vividly down to the last second. I could remember how angry I was at everything that happened to me. I could remember all the blood around his face, the way his face was broken and beaten down by me. But the worst thing was that I didn't feel bad about it at all.
I had killed a person, A living human being but I felt no remorse for what I did to him. No matter how I rationalize this or how I was supposed to feel, I didn't feel remorse about killing him. I wonder how messed up I am in the head to be able to kill somebody without feeling guilty. It has only been a month and a half since I came to this world. I guess it only took that much time to become a murderer.
"Why can't I be normal." I asked myself quietly before rolling over to my side. Why was I born a freak, why me? No matter how hard I tried to act regular or act like a tough guy, I couldn't help but feel like a freak every step of the way. After killing a person and having this reaction, the witch now gives me an answer that says I'm a freak. "I guess after the physical and mental abuse from my dad, I'm the only freak, out of my six siblings" I said with a bit of sadness in my voice. Why did they turn out normal, and I was the only one with emotional scars?
That would also explain why my parents love my siblings more than me. I was the failed first child while the others were successful children in their eyes. The only good thing was that there were people in the world that have it worst than me. I guess my trauma is nothing compared to theirs. I slowly got up from my bad before I decided to get something to eat and not starve to death.
As I walked down to the kitchen while hiding from Jaune, Weiss, and RJ so that they didn't ask my questions. Once I made it to the kitchen, I could see Fran, and she was covered in different types of stuff while I could hear children playing. Fran turned around to look at me and I couldn't help but chuckle at her. Her face was covered in different types of flour.
"It's not funny." Fran whine at me as I tried to stop laughing at her.
"Sorry, sorry." I apologize tiredly which she seems shocked about, after all, I never say sorry to anyone. Just when I was about to say something, we both could hear screaming that was not from the children but from the tv. We ran to the Tv to see that the news was on and they were showing Jaune and Weiss.
"Breaking news, it seems like the power rangers are losing their fight against the evil creature that looks like a buffalo." Lisa Lavender said as I watch Jaune gets slammed to the ground before being kicked backward on the ground. "There is still no sign of the Blue Ranger, as the Red and Yellow rangers are giving their all to fight the buffalo." The news lady said before it went black. I started to feel uncharacteristically worried for them and started to wonder if they were okay.
"Are they going to be okay?" I could hear a girl's voice before I turned to see one of the female children looking up at me. Fran went to the child before scooping her up into her arms.
"Of course, they will be okay, they are the Power Rangers after all." Fran said and I just watched them take to each other. I looked at the child and the other children to see all of them were worried for the rangers. They didn't have the same innocent look to them, rather they had a look of fear. Once I saw that look, something snapped inside of me before I started to march.
"Where are you going." Fran asked me before I turned to look at her with a smile.
"I promise to make the fear in the children's eyes go away."
"How in the world are we going to beat him." Jaune asked as he limped to stand beside Weiss. Weiss wasn't doing any better as she was having a hard time standing.
"I hate to admit it, but I never thought that we could lose to him." Weiss answered, a shame that she hadn't planned for this kind of situation. The fight didn't go as planned with them taking the win with their superior speed, the stupid Buffalord was too strong. No matter what they threw at him, he also counted it with his stupidly more superior strength.
"Come on, is that all you got." Buffalord said to the rangers that he had been beaten down to the ground.
"Get ready." Weiss said in a pained voice as they got ready to face the Buffalord before they heard the sounds of a motorcycle. Everyone turned their head to the side to see Jack on a motorcycle riding toward them. Jack suddenly jumped off the motorcycle but the motorcycle didn't stop and hit the Buffalord before exploding.
I landed in front of Weiss and Jaune before slightly turning my head to them.
"Did you miss me?" I asked with a cheeky tone of voice.
"Jack you came." Jaune said in a jovial tone before he hug me and to Weiss's utter surprise, he hugged back. Both of us broke from the hug before I took a step back.
"You two can leave this to me." I said before I took out my sunglasses and started to transform. As I was transforming into my ranger form, Weiss notice that her color red started to fade out and turn blue.
"My color is turning blue." Weiss exclaimed before a bright light came off Jack. Both Jaune and Weiss had their eyes covered before finally being able to see again. In front of them was Jack in his power ranger transformation but he was no longer blue. Instead, he was Weiss's normal colored red uniform.
"What in the world." I exclaimed, but I didn't have a long time to be in shock before I could hear a roar. All of us turned to the roar to see Buffalord running at them. "Bring it, you piece of bacon." I said before I ran at the Buffalord.
Buffalord gave me a devastating punch in the face and had him flying backward. My body hit the ground hard, Weiss and Jaune watched in concern as he was not moving. Buffalord started to walk past Jack's body, and while Buffalord was not looking, I sat up.
"You can't beat me that easily, because I make a promise to make the fear in those children's eyes go away." I said to the Rinshi beast warrior. "I'll be breaking my promise if I let you leave and hurt those two." Now I stood up and the two rangers that watch could feel the killing intent. "I will put my heart into this until the end." I shouted the last part. "I'll protect the children's happiness."
"In that case, I will make you break that promise to them." Buffalord shouted back at the blue-turned-red ranger. Buffalord came in with a heavy swing to the face which landed on my helmet/face. I stood my ground before countering with an uppercut and making the Buffalord's head snap up. Both of us threw one punch at each other and both landed at the same time.
Both of our bodies bent sideways before coming back with another punch at exactly the same time. The attack had me staggering backward before the Buffalord use his head to charge me. I took a hold of the two horns while I was being pushed back into a building. I lost my footing, which made the Buffalord able to take the upper hand.
The Rinshi beast warrior took a hold of me before throwing me into the building. I landed on a bunch of tables before I rolled out of the way from a kick. I got down to the floor before I jumped back to dodge an attack. I started to look at my surrounding to find a fire extinguisher. I jumped over a low kick and ran to the fire extinguisher before taking a hold of it and using it. The Rinshi beast warrior started to get surrounded by the Sodium bicarbonate, as it was starting to confuse him.
"Fight me like a warrior and not a coward." I could hear him scream at me for using dirty moves, like blinding him. I don't care if I was fighting like a coward because I wanted to win no matter what.
I jumped up in the air before slamming the fire extinguisher on top of Buffalord's head. Buffalord let out a pained sound before I swung the fire extinguisher again, and uppercut him with it. I hit him with the fire extinguisher again in the head before it explodes from the force of it. I looked at the now broken fire extinguisher and the now enrage Rinshi beast warrior before I only said one word.
"Oops." I was sent flying out of the building faster than the human eye could see. I came to a sudden stop when I hit a car. The car bent around my body before I looked up to the Rinshi beast warrior in the air, ready to dropkick me. I quickly got out of my predicament to dodge the attack. The Buffalord came down to the ground with his dropkick and it was so powerful that it make a large crater.
Before I knew it, the Rinshi beast warrior came at me with a flurry of punches with each one landing. He threw a punch for my head, but I bent backward, holding my hands on the ground while my lower body was at a ninety-degree angle.
"Take this." I shouted before spinning on my hands and kicking with everything I had at the Buffalord. The Buffalord took a few steps back from the powerful kick before looking at his opponent to see him curled into a compressed ball. Out of nowhere, I released myself from the compressed form and gave him a devastating kick. The kick had the Rinshi flying into the air around a few feet high. I watch as he changes position in the air before coming down at speed beyond me. He punch me so hard into the ground that it created a crater.
"You are strong." I mumbled as I was holding on to the fist that I was able to catch in time to weaken the attack. "Very strong, but I'm stronger." I said before rotating my legs and kicking him in the chin. I could feel like something ripped because I stretch my leg weirdly. But the attack was strong to get him off me. I slowly got up with my injured leg.
"Why won't you break like your friends." The Rinshi screamed in frustration at me but I just ran at him. Once I was close enough, I jumped into the air before shouting.
"Because I'm too stupid to know when to stop." I said before I aim a roundhouse kick to his face. The Rinshi was able to dodge it in time before trying to take a hold of my leg. I rotated my body in the air, to make sure he couldn't take a hold of it before landing. With that, my opponent started to throw attacks like wild buffalo and I dodged them to the best of my abilities.
I dodge an attack before I wrapped both my arms around his head and went for a knee to the face. The attack caused him to fall flat down on his back before I got on top of him. I took a hold of his right arm before I went into an armbar.
"Gaah." Buffalord let out a pained cry as I was trying my best to break the arm into pieces. Suddenly he swung his other arm around to grip the arm I was holding, and started to slowly get up from the ground. "Do you think your techniques will work on me." Buffalord said arrogantly before I kicked him in the face and make him lose the hold on his arm. And with a final pull, the arm broke into two pieces.
"AHHHHH." The Rinshi beast warrior screamed in pain while I inwardly smiled. I felt something grip hold on my clothes, to see that it was the same arm I broke. He lifted me off the ground and into the air before he stood up.
"What the hell, I already broke your arm." I exclaimed before I was slammed to the ground. "Gah." Goddamn that hurt like hell. I was lifted off the ground again before being slammed down but even harder. I could feel the hold on his arm loosen.
"So what if you broke my arm? Crushing you with a broken arm is as easy as breathing." He said before he threw me into a building. I landed inside the building hard on my back. I started to gasp for air, as it started to get harder to breathe. I notice a sledgehammer but before I could get up, I saw the Rinshi beast warrior walk into the building I was in while holding his broken arm.
I got up from the floor and got hit with a surprise attack to the head. I tried to attack but the Rinshi beast warrior started to throw a flurry of powerful attacks with his one working arm. He threw a devastating liver punch before I fall to the floor while gasping for air.
"Taking on me alone was foolish." He gripped my face with his hand before pulling me into the air. "And now you will die." Before Buffalord could do anything, I went in for another armbar. "Your armbar won't work on me." He shouted out before slamming me to the ground over and over again. I could hear my spine start creaking from the force, he was slamming me with. When he lifted me for what felt like a hundred times, I let go before I kicked his legs out from him and made him fall down on his butt. Both of us took a deep breath before we ran at each other.
The Rinshi beast warrior threw a punch but I ducked under it, before delivering a liver punch. The attack didn't seem to affect him before he punched me in the face. I stood my ground and watched as he went in for another attack, but I ducked and sent out three consecutive punches to the gut. I followed that up with a straight uppercut kick, and I took a hold of his arm before doing a shoulder throw. But just when I was about to throw him, my whole body suddenly stop moving.
He places his broken arm on the back of my head before forcing my head to the ground. He lifted my head up before throwing my face down to the ground. I slowly got up while trembling. Before I knew what happened, Buffalord started to throw a flurry of attacks with both his arms. The more attacks he threw, the more I started to hear my bones start breaking down. I saw him pull back his arm before I took that moment to punch him in the face.
I lowered my body before I sent out four consecutive punches to the gut, and followed that up with a haymaker. I could see him take a step back before I went in with a flurry of attacks. With one of my arms, I pulled back before giving him a powerful straight punch to the gut. I watch as he flew backward before I ran over to take a hold of the sledgehammer.
I swing the sledgehammer at the Rinshi beast warrior's head and watch as his head snapped to the side. Once the first hit came, I didn't stop and started to swing with everything I had at him. The sledgehammer started to get a black aura around it before I swung it and hit the Rinshi in the face. I watch as the head was dislocated from his body before it turned into stone and exploded on itself.
"I won bastard." I said before everything turned black.
"It seems like the Morphing Grid change the coding itself and I have no idea how to undo it." I could hear RJ's friend say to us. We had gotten back from the fight with the Rinshi beast warrior, with me being more injured than Weiss and Jaune. When we came back, RJ had called a friend to look into why I was now the Red Ranger, and if there was any way to undo it. "So until the Morphing Grid decides to change again, you will not be able to be the Red Ranger."
"Will thank you for coming and looking into this." RJ said while his friend nodded before he took his leave. RJ turned to us but before he could get a word in, Weiss beat him to the punch.
"This is utterly ridiculous." Weiss shouted in anger. "You gave me the Red Ranger sunglasses because you believed that I had what it took to be a leader. And now out of nowhere Jack gets to be the leader of our team that I work too hard to make work." We had tried to switch sunglasses but every time we did it, Weiss's sunglasses turned blue.
"I hear you, but it seems like the Morphing Grid believes that Jack is the better person to lead this team." RJ said while trying to placate the angry heiress. Weiss just huffed before leaving the room and slamming the door behind her. "Well, that could have gone better." RJ sight before also leaving the room.
That just left me and Jaune in the room alone.
"Wanna play a game." Jaune asked.
"Why not."
