"I could have sworn that I packed his motion sickness pills." I could hear Weiss say as we all were currently on a futuristic plane or a futuristic plane for me. It has now been a week, and the day we are going to Beacon Academy. Duration the week, I have been teaching Weiss and Jaune to speak Swedish and training with my wristband.
But not all is rainbows and sunshine.
The news outlet has caught wind of my and Jaune's confrontation with the police. They spun a story of how we were the aggressors in the situation. They make sure that I looked terrible in the video. Once it hit the news, Weiss was unhappy to find out about what happened. But once she understood what happened she went a bit easy on us.
The news also seemed to not be aware of our semblance. From what I could find out about us. They have no idea about mine and Weiss's semblance and just seemed to think we have the basic powers. Like super strengths speed and agility, and nothing more. It was great that they didn't know because that means we could use semblance without having to worry about people finding out about us.
But that meant that we couldn't use our semblances when we were going to fight the Rinshi. The witch was a downside.
"Are you sure you didn't pack the pills in one of your dust suitcases?" I asked her as Jaune was lying down while letting out weird sounds. I had changed my appearance now wearing a black shirt, combat pants, and combat boots. I also wear a black navy hoodie and wear my hair in a braided ponytail, which could reach lower than my neck
"You could be right." Weiss admitted before glaring at Jaune, "If only someone didn't decide to sleep in and make us late." Jaune had the decency to look guilty. The bastard was so excited about going to Beacon Academy, that he almost forgot to sleep at a reasonable hour.
"But aren't all good-looking people always late." I asked her with a grin.
"You wear too much black." Ouch, that hurt my pride a bit.
I started to look around at all the aspiring Huntsmen and Huntresses. From what I could see, everyone was wearing some weird-colored outfits. Were I and Jaune the only people wearing normal clothes? I mean sure, I wear a lot of black but I wasn't wearing clothes that anyone could spot from a mile away.
"Then you see the Red ranger fighting the Buffalo monster."
"Yeah, the Red guy got a lot of power."
"I'm more into the Blue chick, she's probably really hot."
"I could say the same thing about the Yellow guy."
I smiled as I could hear the people talking about us and how cool we were. I looked over to Weiss with a huge smile. She looks at me exasperated but couldn't hide her smile as she heard the people around us talking.
"Did you hear that they love us?" I whispered to Weiss before wiggling my eyebrows. Weiss gave me a deadpan look before I leaned back against the wall. It took us a few minutes before we finally landed on the ground and were able to walk out. Jaune ran out before he started to throw up in a trash can. Both I and Weiss walked passed him like we didn't know him.
Once my eyes lay upon the Beacon Academy my jaw dropped. The Academy looks like a giant medieval castle, and it's freaking awesome. I looked at it for a few seconds before I got bored and ran after Weiss, who was a bit far ahead of me. Once I catch up to her, I looked behind to see about three people carrying our stuff. I didn't know where she found them but I was loving the idea of people carrying things for me.
But the good time didn't last long.
Both I and Weiss looked behind us to see a small child had knocked down all of Weiss's dust suitcases. The small child is a fair-skinned young girl with silver eyes and neck-length black hair with red tips. I looked down at her with amusement while Weiss didn't.
"What are you doing." Weiss asked the small child in anger.
"Uh…Sorry." The little girl said to Weiss as she looked up at her.
"Sorry? Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" Weiss glared at the offender.
"Uhhh." The girl didn't seem to have an answer to that as she tried to give one of the dust suitcases to Weiss.
"Gimme that." Weiss pulled it away from her arms before going into scolding mode. "This is dust mind and purified from the Schnee quarry. What are you brain dead? Dust. Fire. Water. Lightning. Energy." Weiss kept talking while holding onto fire dust and waving it around. The girl suddenly sneezed and caused an explosion which Weiss and I were caught in. Weiss and I were covered in smoke from the explosion while we stared at the girl. I coughed up some smoke before I glared. Now I was pissed.
"Unbelievable. This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about." Weiss said while glaring at the girl.
"I'm really really sorry." The girl said.
"Do you think that anyone will miss her?" I asked Weiss in a dark tone while looking at that girl. The girl seemed to notice that it was no longer safe around me before backing away.
"Jack, we can't have you kicked out on the first day for brutally assaulting a person." Weiss said as she looked at me. "Do you want to go back to jail?"
"I can't go to jail if the body is not found." The girl looked completely terrified at the admission of me wanting to kill her. She took a step back away from me while looking at us.
"Hey, listen here, princess and meanie." The girl said as she tried to be brave but before she could say anything more, a new voice came.
"It's heiress." This person is a fair-skinned young woman with wavy black hair and amber eyes, she also has a bow on her head. "Weiss Schnee heiress to the Schnee dust company, one of the world's largest producers of energy propellant?"
"A person born with a diamond spooned in her mouth." I joked but nobody seemed to think that it was funny.
"Like I was saying, the same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners." The woman said and looked at Weiss's face for some reaction. And she seemed disappointed when she didn't show a reaction.
"I mean isn't that almost all companies." Everyone looked at me. "I mean, I saw a store getting shut down on the news because the owner was a racist."
"It's true but since my father's company is the biggest in the world, we got a lot more attention."
"That seems a bit unfair."
"You are right about that." Weiss sighed before she looked at the time. "Time for us to get moving."
It didn't take us long before we entered the building. Once we entered, we could see everyone from the plane was inside the building and waiting for instructions. I started to look for a place where I and Weiss could stand. I found it before I started to move forward while Weiss was behind me. I began to look around to find Jaune.
"Do you know where Jaune is?" I asked the ice queen, who looked at me for a moment before looking around herself.
"I have no idea." She answered, before both of us notice a tall blonde man walking in with the girl from before. Weiss's eyes narrowed when she saw who he was with. "I can't believe that his with that girl."
"I mean he wasn't with us when the girl made us explode." I said to her before I looked back at Jaune. "Wait here." Before she could answer, I went over to Jaune. I was only able to take a few steps before some bastard bumped into me.
"Hey watch it." The person that bumped into me snarled at me. I looked at him to see he has burnt-orange hair that is combed backward with a slight peak at the front and indigo eyes. He wears silver-gray armor with gold trim. I was too stunned by the audacity of his blaming me. "That's what I thought." He said smugly before he tried to walk away. I took a hold of his shoulder before pulling him around and punching him in the face. He was sent flying into a few people before he slowly got up from the ground and glared at me.
"You smug bastard, don't you dare talk to me like that." I shouted out in anger before I took a fighting stance. "Now let's see if you are gonna catch these hands." Both of us bolted at each other before we were lifted into the air by an invisible force.
"Hey, who the fuck is going this."
"Let us the fuck down."
Both of us started to shout out profanities before the person doing this step forward. The woman appears to be a middle-aged woman that has very light blonde hair tied back in a bun with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. Her eyes are bright green and she wears thin ovular glasses. She has dangling teal earrings that match the hanging pendant on her collar.
"Both of you will calm down immediately, understood." The woman spoke sharply to us before both of us reluctantly nodded our heads. She let us both go as we dropped to the ground before she returned to the stage. I glared at the taller guy with nothing but hate in my eyes and he did the same. I felt someone place their hand on my back before I spun around to glare at that person. My glare went away when I saw that it was Jaune. I just nodded, and we went back to Weiss.
I notice an old man standing on the stage before he began to talk. "I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, and direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." With that, he left the stage and walked away. The woman was before stepped forward.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight, tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready. You're dismissed." The woman simply said before she also walked away.
"This was pretty anticlimactic." Both Weiss and Jaune couldn't disagree with me on this.
It was now the next day and all of us were currently getting ready for the initiation to begin. Jaune and I were looking for our locker because Weiss decided to wake up early and leave us.
"Why did I need to place my stuff in a locker, I only have one wristband." I shouted out in frustration. It wasn't even the first day and I already hated this place. Jaune looked at me with pity before looking down at his piece of paper.
"I'm on your side, I don't remember placing my stuff in locker 636 yesterday." I looked at him deadpan before I pointed to where Weiss was and his locker. Jaune let out an embarrassed chuckle before we walked over to her.
We both saw a woman next to Weiss. The woman wore her red hair in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet. She also wore light-green eyeshadow around the far upper corners of her green eyes. She was tall and quite muscular.
"Weiss how could you fucking leave us." I said as we got closer enough to both girls. Weiss looked at me with a frown while the other girl had a polite but forced smile.
"I do not need to wake the two of you up when you are a full-grown man." Weiss said with a sigh as if she was dealing with a child. "Anyway this is Pyrrha Nikos, Pyrrha this is Jaune Arc, and Jack Silva." Pyrrha looked like she was bracing herself for something.
"How in the hell are you already making friends." I asked Weiss as this was very unusual behavior. Weiss is nice to a stranger. Not normal. Weiss looked offended by the comment.
"What's that supposed to mean?." Weiss asked with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"You know what I mean." I barked back at her.
"First off, I'm always nice to people, and second Pyrrha is very strong, and I was hoping the four of us make a team."
"Why do we need her."
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum."
"Is that supposed to mean anything?"
"She's won the Mistral regional tournaments four years in a row. A new record."
"The what." Both I and Jaune said at the same time, still confused over why Weiss is saying that she was strong. Unbeknownst to us, Pyrrha was currently giving off the most wholesome smile known to man because of my and Jaune's ignorance of her fame.
"She's on the front of every pumpkin Pete's marshmallow flakes box." Weiss almost shouted the last part. Jaune gasped when he heard that, while I almost gagged.
"That's you. They only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters." Jaune asked her in shock.
"Yeah. It was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you." Pyrrha said with a polite smile.
"The cereal is a demon in disguise." I commented before Jaune turned to me with a scandalized look.
"How could you say that."
"It has pumpkin in it, that's not normal."
"You take that back."
"Never."
"Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff, immediately." All of us could hear the speakers say before we started to get moving. While Jaune and Weiss walked, I turned to Pyrrha.
"I don't know why Weiss thinks you are strong but don't you dare hold us back" Pyrrha smiled.
"Don't worry, I won't"
"For years you have trained to become warriors." The headmaster started by saying as we were on Beacon Cliff and looking out into the forest. "And today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." With that, the blonde woman took over.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates. Today." The woman said and my mouth moved faster than my brain.
"Fuck." Both of the Beacon staff looked at me. Qzpin coughed before he talked after my outburst.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." Well, that was a downer. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."
"I hate my fucking life." I said out loud while looking down to the ground before looking over to Weiss and Jaune. "Don't either of you leave me with these fucking barbarians?" Everyone but Pyrrha and the little girl was glaring at me.
"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die. You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the Cliff. We won't guard that item as well as your standing and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" The man explained to us before we took our positions.
Out of nowhere, I was catapulted into the air.
"Fuuuuck." I screamed as I was flying up into the air followed by everyone else. I started to write myself into a great position before I started to dive into the forest. I discharge an ice dust crystal before I started to transform. With my ice-blue scales, I started to shoot out ice and made a ramp while sliding down it. Once I was closer to the ground, I stopped shooting out ice, and jump down. I landed on the ground before I started to run.
I discharged a wind dust crystal before turning green and ran faster than I ever could. I was moving so fast that everything started to seem like a blur before I jumped over a fallen tree. As I was running through the forest, I couldn't help but wonder how Jaune and Weiss were doing. I just hope that I didn't meet anyone before I met them. I ran for a few minutes before I stop and saw two Ursa. Ursa has black fur, bony spikes on their backs and arms, and white, bone-like masks with red detailing.
"I don't have time for this." I said to myself before discharging fire. Both the Ursa ran at me before I jumped forward and touched both of them at the same time. Both of them simultaneously went into flames before disappearing into ash. I discharge another wind before starting to run again but this time faster. Any Grimm that I saw in my way, was completely decimated with a manic smile on my face. With each Grimm that is killed by my hand, the smile on my face grows bigger.
I suddenly stop when I saw a pack of beowolf with one Alpha beowolf. From what I could see, there was about ten normal beowolf's and that one Alpha beowolf. I discharge lightning before I turned yellow. I summon a lightning spear before I ran at the pack of wolfs. I swing the spear around my body before I blocked an attack from beowolf before swinging the spear upwards and cutting the Grimm head off its body.
I saw two beowolfs running at me, before I summon two lightning bolts, and struck both of them into ashes. I change my weapon from a spear into a whip. I swing the whip around a beowolf neck before pulling its whole body at me. I started to wrap the lightning whip around the wolf's neck before pulling the head off its body. I ducked under attack from another beowolf before I took a few steps back.
I saw all six normal beowolf charge at me. I waited until they got close enough before changing my weapon into a long sword and cutting them down in one swing. I felt a sudden hit to my side before I was sent through a few trees and landed on the ground. I looked up to see that it was the Alpha beowolf that hit me. I took out my scroll to see how much I had left and was at a good 94%.
"Come dog." I said before I saw the Grimm change form into something more humanoid. It was completely black with fur and purple eyes. This is not normal. Is this a hybrid between Salem and Dai Shi? I got rid of the sword before taking a fighting stance. The hybrid ran at me at full speed and threw what looked like a punch. I pulled up my arms to block the attack, only for me to get sent flying back. The force from the punch was unnormal.
I spun in the air before placing both my hand on the ground to slow me down. I landed on all four before I looked at my arm to see that it was bleeding. I guess this is a hybrid between the two evil overlords. This can get troublesome.
The hybrid ran at me with unbelievable speed before it tried to punch me. I place my hand on top of its head while keeping my body straight up, before kicking down and the monster's body hit the ground hard. The monster got up before I attacked with a flurry of punches, and followed that up with a kick to the side. Before the hybrid could move, I took a hold of his back before suplex it into the ground hard.
I let go of the body before I jump back a bit as the hybrid got up from the ground. Once it almost stood up, I ran at it. I jump into the air before kicking it in the head and following it up with a scissor takedown but with its head, slamming the head into the ground. I got on top of the hybrid before I started to punch its face with everything I had. The hybrid swung at me but I dodge it and jump off the body.
The hybrid got up from the ground and sent what I believe is a glare.
The hybrid let out a powerful roar before it threw another punch, and I took hold of its leg. I spun and made both of us fall to the ground, it was a perfect takedown. The monster raises the leg I was holding onto before I change into a mid-air ankle hold. I started to pull the leg as the monster let out a roar of pain. The hybrid started to slowly stand up as the ankle lock was failing. I took a hold of its arm before pulling it back down into a kimura lock.
The monster tried to get up but once it straighten its back, I went for a chokehold. The hybrid started to move around wildly before I snapped the neck into two. The hybrid went limp before going into purple smoke. I stared at the purple smoke, which was normally black after a Grimm was killed.
"I need to warn Weiss and Jaune about this." This could just be the beginning of something grim.
I never notice Camille, looking down at me.
I came across a scene with the little girl from before running from a Death Stalker. I discharge another ice dust before I started to run down. I looked to that side to see a blonde woman also running. I got there before the blonde woman did and took a hold of the girl wearing a red cap and threw her into the blonde one. The blonde caught her in her arms before I turned to the Grimm.
I looked up to see the pincer aiming for my head before I raise my arm up and made contact with it. The Grimm instantaneously turned into ice, before it shattered into pieces that fell to the ground. I looked down at the pieces of ice with a smile, before I turned around.
"Thanks for saving me." The little girl said with a smile before jumping back after an ice wall came between us. The blonde didn't seem to like that if the glare was anything to go by. I walked over to Jaune and Weiss, who both greeted me. I got closer to both of them before whispering.
"They are making hybrids." I said and both of their eyes narrowed before they nodded. With that, I went over and took one of the relics that was left before walking back. I could hear a roar before I look up into the sky to see a Nevermore. "Weiss send me flying." I ordered him before I ran at her.
Weiss summons one of her glyphs to send me flying into the air. With that, I was sent into the sky at high speed and turned into my fire form. The Nevermore came flying at me and I touched it with my hand and it went on fire. With the Grimm killed, I was currently free-falling to the ground.
I took out some hard light dust, before I was turning white. I summon a shield just below me before I landed on it. Once I landed I summon another shield and did the same thing over and over until I landed safely on the ground. I was now on the ground, I dusted myself off before I started to walk over to the group of people.
I looked at the three newcomers, first, the blonde is a tall, fair-skinned young woman with lilac eyes and long, thick, wavy bright golden hair that fades to pale gold at the tips with a cowlick sticking out at the top.
The second woman is a fair-skinned young woman with orange hair and turquoise eyes.
The last one was a male, and he is a young man with long black hair that ends midway down his back. There is a magenta streak on the left side of his hair. His eyes match the streak in his hair.
"That was pretty easy." I said with a smile.
"Russell Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove bronzewing Sky Lark. The four of you retrieve the black Bishop. From this day forward, you will work together as a team Cardinal. Led by Cardin Winchester." I could hear Qzpin say as the crowd started to applaud the new team. The guy named Cardin sent me a smug look as if saying that his better than me by being the leader. I watch as Jaune and the other three went up on the stage.
"Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the White Rook. From this day forward, you will work together as, Team juniper. Led by Jaune Arc." I started to applaud the loudest because I felt so much pride in him being a leader.
"Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, and Yang Xiao long. The four of you retrieved the White Knight. From this day forward, you will work together as, Team Ruby. led by Ruby Rose." I already knew that Weiss was going to be pissed about this. And I was right when I saw the look on her face. She was beaten out by a child.
First, she gets to be the team leader of the rangers then I become leader, and now she gets beaten out by a fifteen-year-old. This was not her year.
"And finally, Jack Silva." I walked up onto the stage ready to get kicked out because I didn't have a team. "You retrieved the pawn piece because the teams became an odd number, you will become a replacement if either one of them dies or can't continue to be a hunter." That was pretty good, I think.
"What took you guys so long." I asked Weiss and Jaune, and both came walking toward us as the night sky was shining above us. It was only a few hours after the initiation. "Anyway it doesn't matter, both of you know why I called this meeting right." Both of them nodded.
"This is about the hybrid that you fought." Weiss said with that, I started to tell them everything that happened, how I met the hybrid and how I killed it. "If they are making such a powerful hybrid, it is only a matter of time before they are making Rinshi Grimm beast warrior fight us and we may not be able to win" All of us grimaced as the thought of that kind of Grimm was not welcome.
"I think that the hybrid that I fought was just a trial run. It was very physically strong but didn't have any smarts to it." I said sighing as the thought of the hybrid being a trial run didn't sit right with me. "But even if it wasn't a trial run, it was still very powerful."
"That means we need to up our training then." Jaune said with a worried tone of voice. "Are we going to tell RJ about this?" He asked before I and Weiss looked at each other. Telling RJ about this was probably the best thing to do since he was our teacher. As I was thinking it over, I came to an answer.
"Let's hold off on telling him until we have more information about these new Grimm that Salem and Dai Shi are making." I finally said after a long pause. I heard something rustling in the nearby tree before I jumped over to grab the thing. The thing let out a loud screeching sound as I pulled it out of the tree. I look at the thing in my hand to see a house cat size Nevermore.
"What's a Nevermore doing here." I could hear Jaune asked with before I gave him a deadpan look. I started to look the Grimm over to see that it didn't have red eyes but purple.
"We have a hybrid spy in our hand." I said as I started to shake the Grimm violently. After a few seconds, the Grimm's neck snapped before it went into purple smoke. "I guess they heard everything that we talked about." Each of us had a worried look. "We'll tell RJ about this." We went back to Beacon academy.
I wonder what this school has in store for us.
