'Beep' 'Beep' 'Beep'
I slammed my hand over the alarm clock and almost broke it into two pieces. I started to get up from the bed I was sleeping on groggily. I let out a big yawn of tiredness before I looked at the time, to see that it was about 8 am. I began to look around to see that I was in my new room at Beacon academy. The room was rather big since I didn't have a team, and it even had its own bathroom with a shower. It also turned out that I was neighbors with Jaune's and Weiss's teams with them only the next door down from mine.
I had about five minutes to get ready and get down to the dining hall for my breakfast which Beacon provided for us. I looked at my school uniform, with much hate for it. It was a black suit lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie.
As I was putting on the uniform, I started to think over the hybrid Grimm that I fought yesterday. There was something about the hybrid that didn't feel right. The thing that worried me the most was that the hybrid knew how to throw a punch. Witch meant that it had a brain or at least some intelligence. I wonder how RJ was taking the news about this. Last night, we called him and told him everything that happened with the new Grimm. He hadn't said much, only that he understood.
As I was putting on the pants, I started to think over what Qzpin had said to me while he and I were alone. He told me that even tho that I'm just a replacement if something were to happen. I was going to be treated as a student that need to socialize with my future teammates, even Cardin, and his teammate.
I looked at myself in the mirror with the uniform on, only to hate it even more than before. I loosen the tie almost halfway, and I wear an open suit. I took off the blue vest before throwing it onto the bed with disdain. I looked myself over again, and it felt so much better looking like this. I also came to a sudden realization that Weiss wouldn't like this. With the uniform all done, I started to braid my hair into a ponytail, before walking out of the room. I walked out of the room, only to be met with my two ranger teammates also walking out of their rooms.
"Food." I said simply as I looked at Weiss and Jaune, who both nodded. "How was your night." I asked the yellow and blue rangers who looked at me.
"Well, Miss Xiao Long seemed to snore very loudly, so I could barely sleep at all." Weiss said as I could see the black circles on her eyes before I took note of the miss part.
"Miss, when did you get so formal." I said jokingly before she looked at me.
"You just notice it now." Weiss raises an eyebrow at me. "The only reason I call you and Jaune by your first name is that you two never answered when I called you by your last name." Weiss sighed as she usually did around us.
"I had a rather peaceful night, except for Nora talking in her sleep." Jaune said as he was his turned to answer the question. "What about you Jack."
"I had the best night's sleep in like forever." I said with a smile. "It's pretty nice when you don't have to share a room when you are all alone."
"I still can't believe that they gave you your own room." Weiss grumbled while I just smiled at her.
"Get used to it, snow tiger."
With that, we walked in companionable silence down to the dining hall. It took us a few minutes before we finally got there. The academy had a large, formal dining room running down the length of a cloister-like hall. The dining room features four long tables the length of the hall with benches to either side and walking areas located in between.
"Let's get something to eat, snow tiger and greyhound of the desert." But before I could take a step, I could hear Jaune's voice.
"What's with the nicknames?" Jaune asked in a confused voice, and it took me a few seconds to realize that they didn't know the meaning of names.
"Oh, right you guys don't know about the animals back on earth." I said while gently hitting the palm of my hand. "Snow tigers were large predatory felines native to Rashemen which is on earth and distantly related to the red tigers of the North. A greyhound is a dog that is sleek and muscular like a cheetah. Both animals have similar profiles when running. So cheetah is nicknamed the greyhound of the desert because they live in Africa." I explained to both of them.
"What is Africa."
"Africa is a continent, and from the largest to the smallest, we have Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia." Both of their jaws dropped to the ground. Weiss was the first one to get her composure back.
"How big is Earth compared to Remnant." She asked before I started to think it over.
"How big is Remnant."
"About 21 324 800 km."
"Earth is 510 100 000 km."
"THAT IS TWENTY-THREE TIMES BIGGER THAN REMNANT." Weiss all but shouted that out, drawing people's attention to us. Weiss notices the people looking at us before she calms down. "That's quite large." I just nodded to that. With that, we started to eat the food, and Weiss demanded that told her more about Earth.
"Monster and demons. Prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names." I could hear Peter Port talking as I was currently bored out of my mind. Peter Port has grey hair and a gray mustache and is a fat man. Peter appears to be a man in an early old age. I, Weiss, and Jaune were able to make it to class without any problem while Jaune's and Weiss's teams were almost late for class.
I have discovered that Peter Port is the most boring storytelling in the world, after all, half of the class is asleep while others were on their scrolls. I pulled out my scroll before I started to play a game on it.
"Put that away." Weiss reprimanded me as she was sitting to my right and Jaune to the left. I gave her a light glare.
"Why, the fat bastard isn't even teaching us anything." I whispered harshly back to her, as I was right. This bastard has just been telling us stories about his youth and nothing more. "I'll put it away when he is actually teaching us something." Both of us were glaring at each other.
"Calm down you two." Jaune tried to placate, but we both turned our glares around on him. "Nevermind." Jaune slumped down on his seat. Jaune's partner Pyrrha started to comfort him.
"The moral of the story? A true Huntsman must be honorable. A true Huntsman must be dependable. A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise. So who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?" I didn't hear a word as I was glaring at Weiss before I decided that this class was too boring and when I got up, Peter suddenly called. "We have a volunteer. Let's applaud him." Shit.
It took me a few seconds to figure out what just happened and I was not happy to find out that I was going to fight a Boarbatusk. I looked over the cage holding the Grimm, as it was moving around violently. I suddenly got the notification on my scroll before I looked to see that the city of vale was being under attack. I looked over to my teammate to see them also looking at their scroll. Both their faces had a worried look to them.
But before I could say anything, Peter opened the cage and the Grimm ran at me. I dodge the charging Grimm with ease before I backed away from it. The Grimm roared at me before it charge at me. I took hold of its tusks with both my hands and The Boarbatusk started to try and push me back.
"Ha-ha, you weren't expecting that, were you?" Peter guffawed at me while I just growled. I don't have time for this. Without any hesitation, I turned my entire body into iron, before I pulled one of the tusks out of the Boarbatusk. I kicked it with enough force to send it backward. Before the Grimm could get up, I pierce it with its own tusk and killed it.
"Bravo, bravo it appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntsman in training. I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings and stay vigilant. Class dismissed." Peter said before the three of us walked out of the classroom as fast as we could before disappearing.
Leaving Jaune's and Weiss's teammates to wonder where we went.
All three of us were running to where the people were running away from, only to come across one Rinshi beast warrior. The Rinshi beat warrior was on top of a building before with jumped up and landing on the same building.
"Time for you to go night night." I said to the Rinshi.
"Surprise think again." I heard a female voice before four more Rinshi besat warriors entered the building. "So those are the Power ranger, I'm so unimpressed"
"They look pretty sorry to me." Another Rinshi besat warrior said before all of them moved to stand side by side.
"By the power of Dai Shi, inner beast arise." They all said as one before they started to transform.
"A hundred legs to strike you, Rantipede." The Rinshi centipede warrior called out before taking his fighting stance.
"Fang full of venom, Naja."The Rinshi cobra warrior took his fighting stance.
"Queen of the toxic death, Stingerella." The Rinshi scorpion.
"Master of trickery and deceit, Gakko." The Rinshi Gecko.
"Skin stronger than armor, Toady." The Rinshi toad.
"We are the five fingers of poison." They said as one too much of our confusion. But before we could think about it, they ran at us before we summon our weapons. We took our fight off the building and one to the ground.
Weiss was swinging her nunchuck around at Rantipede who was dodging them with ease. Rantipede threw a few punches at her which she blocked with great difficulty as they were fast and powerful. Weiss tried to swing the nunchuck at Rantipede's head but he caught it. Weiss tried to punch him but he moved faster and hit her with a powerful strike. It was powerful enough to send her flying while spinning in the air. The blue ranger landed on the ground with a loud thud as she groaned in pain.
Jaune ran at Stingerella before ducking under a kick before Stingerella kicked Jaune in the back. Stingerella ran at Jaune as he tried to attack, only for her to block each attack with a kick. Jaune spun the bo staff around his body before thrusting the bo staff a the Rinshi female. Stingerella kicked the back leg of the yellow ranger and made him take a knee with that leg. She went for an axe kick but Jaune was able to block it. Jaune tried to get up, only to kick a powerful kick thrown at him and sent him flying to the ground.
Jaune noticed Weiss was in trouble before the threw his weapon away and ran over to her. As Rantipede was about to hit Weiss, Jaune took hold of that arm before pushing him back and started to throw a flurry of punches. Rantipede got the same idea and started to also throw a flurry of punches. The punches that were being thrown were faster than any hunter could reach either one hitting the other because they counted each other. But it didn't take long before Rantipede started to outspeed the cheetah ranger.
An explosive punch landed on Jaune and he was sent flying into a building. Weiss tried to attack as Rantipede was opened but Stingerella gave her a powerful kick before she could move, and sent her to the same building Jaune landed in.
Gakko jumped over my head as I was running at him before we both turned around. I started to attack him with my tonfas as fast as I could, only for him to dodge each of the attacks. As I pulled back one of the tonfas, he aimed a kick to my chest and had me taking a few steps back. Gakko jumped up to a ceiling before he looked down at me and started to shoot out green energy bullets at me. I was surrounded by four large explosions that sent me flying. I hit the ground before I started to look myself over for injuries. It seemed that the explosions gave me blunt trauma, nothing more.
"The fuck, I get hurt by a normal bullet but not fucking energy bullets that cause an explosion. This some bullshit." I muttered to myself before I got up from the ground. Out of nowhere, Toady came at me with a slash attack but I was able to dodge it. "Come here, fat toad." I shouted before I jumped up into the air for a dropkick to the face.
I landed on him, only for my attack to be harmless and I bounce off him and into a wall. I peeled off the wall before hitting the ground with a groan of pain. I slowly got up from the ground, only to simultaneously get hit by Jaune's and Weiss's bodies. The pile of bodies lets out of groan of pain before we got demorphed from our power ranger uniform.
"They are too strong, what do we do now." Jaune asked as both he and Weiss looked at me.
"I only have one last plan." I said to them as I was panting for breath before I shouted. "Run the fuck away." I scream before I turned tail and ran for my life, with Jaune and Weiss behind me.
The five fingers of poison were too stunned to speak after seeing the cowardly move.
The three of us ran out of the city of vale as far as we could before we finally stopped to take a breath of air. I looked over to my two teammates, to see the two of them catching their breath while Weiss was glaring at me.
"As much as I hate the idea of running away, I can't fault you for the decision." Weiss said while taking a few deep breaths.
"I like it when we only need to fight one at a time." Jaune said and I agreed with him on that. Out of nowhere, an explosion came knocking the three of us down to the ground. We looked up to see the five fingers of poison staring at us.
"Fuck me sideways." I muttered before purple and black lightning came in front of the five fingers of poison. The dust slowly went away before leaving a dog Faunus standing. The dog Faunus was staring us down before he slowly took a few steps forward.
"Look at what we have here." The dog said calmly while sizing the three of us up with his eyes. "The three power rangers that have been causing me so much trouble. Jaune Arc, coming from the great line of Arcs, known worldwide for being great Heroes and Huntsman." He looked over to Weiss. "Weiss Schnee, the heiress to the biggest company in the world. But you" I could feel his eyes on me. "You are an anomaly. There are no records of you ever being born in this world." I could feel myself start to sweat. "I have tried for hours to find out who you are, but there was nothing on you." The dog mused to himself. His head snapped to me." It's like you just appeared from out of nowhere."
"It doesn't really matter." I could feel danger getting closer. "I'm Dai Shi's vessel, but he doesn't control me." He said with a smile. "I'm Dave park, and I'm here to make a deal." He eyed each of us. "If one of you land a single effective hit on me." The smile turned cruel. "I'll spare all of you." With that, he started to transform. His outfit looked like a mountain lion with purple and black colors. "Now, come at me."
The three of us transform before I ran at him. I went for a spinning jump kick to the head but he just moved back with his upper body while looking at me boringly.
"No sign of hesitation, huh." He asked me.
"I learned that if I hesitate." I took a hold of his arm before spinning him off his feet and into the air. "Jaune and Weiss may get hurt." Dave spun his body around in the air before landing a downward kick on top of my head. The body hit the ground hard as I gritted my teeth together.
"Jack Silva, I don't think that you understand things correctly." I looked up at him. "Weiss and Jaune, aren't the only ones who'll die if you can't land an effective hit." He said before he got ready for an axe kick. "The people of Vale will die too." The kick came down as he finish his sentence. I close my eyes before I heard a thug sound and opened them to see Weiss had blocked the attack.
"You said that you will kill the people of Vale." Weiss's voice was filled with anger. "That won't happen on our watch."
"Because we will be here to stop you." Jaune said before delivering a devastating compact low kick at Dave's legs from behind him. Dave jumped into the air to dodge the attack with ease. Both I and Jaune jumped into the air to attack the vulnerable vessel. My fist was an inch was landing on his face before he turned his whole body around and kicked the three of us in an instant. My back hit the ground and Jaune landed with his head first to the ground too. Weiss was the only one who was able to withstand it.
Weiss looked at her opponent, as she couldn't help but feel like this was unfair. They all became stronger together but this person was a mountain to them. Weiss didn't have time to move before a flurry of kicks landed on her. Yet she couldn't help but grimaced before she started to throw a flurry of punches at him.
"Control your breathing more." The Faunus said to her, as she kept throwing attacks at him. She was fighting someone who seemed invincible, but she wasn't going down without a fight. Weiss didn't know what hit her as she felt a hit on top of her head. "Of course, that only if you survive today." Dave landed a final attack before knocking her out cold.
"Next up." The dog said coldly as he looked at Weiss's body. Jaune came in with a devastating knee to the gut. Dave moved a few feet backwards from the sheer force of the impact. Jaune looked at Dave, who was able to block the attack with his hand.
"Do you think that you can get to my intestines at that level?" The Dai Shi vessel asked the yellow ranger. Jaune wrapped his hands around the back of his neck before delivering a knee to the head that was blocked by Dave's hand again. "Jaune." He said before lifting himself off the ground while using Jaune's arm to hold himself upright. "This is what, piercing looks like." Dave swung himself down before kicking Jaune under the chin and sending him flying back.
As Jaune was still in the air, Dave kicked his face into the ground, and Jaune didn't move after that. Dave blocked a kick from me as the side of his liver.
"Don't worry." Dave started by saying. "Your friends aren't dead yet." I tried a low kick to the leg but he blocked it with the same leg. "But." Dave kicked me in the face and had me spinning in the air. "They'll probably die at this rate." The cruel words of Weiss and Jaune getting killed were just fueling my rage to keep fighting. I tried a kick to the head again but he just move slightly.
"I'm so envious." The dog Faunus delivered a kick to the stomach. "The willpower that you are showing is intoxicating to me." The bastard smiled pervertedly. He dodges another attack before kicking me back.
"But you really suck at being the leader of your little group, why is that." Dave asked innocently as I slowly got up from the ground.
"I have no idea why I'm the leader." I laughed humorlessly. "I'm the worst person to be a leader. A leader needs to be the symbol of courage and heroics, I have neither the courage or heroics." I stared the bastard down through my helmet. "The only thing I have ever been good at was hurting people, but being able to help the people of Vale makes me see things differently from before." I slowly started to walk closer and closer to him.
"How can I be the leader, if I'm not the kindest, Jaune is probably the kindest. I can't be the smartest because Weiss is the smartest." I started to laugh maniacally. "I have a different mentality, I will break my body into pieces if just for one moment that Weiss, Luna, RJ, Fran, and Jaune are safe and sound." I ran at him with the speed of a Jaguar. I went for a dropkick to the body but he dodge the attack. The attack hit the ground and exploded into pieces of rocks. "I'm willing to kill to keep them safe." Dave Park looked at me for a few seconds before he started to laugh like a maniac.
"Jack Silva, show me your true colors through this violence that we will commit against each other." Both of us laugh before we ran at each other.
Both of us started to throw attacks like a bunch of wild animals with neither one of us hitting the other with the attacks. I went for a punch to the face but Dave dodge it before trying to give me a spinning back elbow. But I was able to duck under the attack. I tried an uppercut, but he dodged the attack before I was hit with a kick.
My body hit the ground before I started to roll around dodging the kicks Dave was sending at me. I push off the ground before landing on my feet, only to get a flurry of punches at me. I just held my guard up and blocked the attacks.
Dave kept throwing attacks as he looked at the red ranger, but he couldn't figure out why he was just blocking. Dave threw a powerful attack, that broke through his guard. I threw a kick in desperation before I was punched in the face. I fell down to the ground before looking up at Dave.
"How long are you going to last." I was attacked with a flurry of attacks with each one landing and doing some damage. I tried to block an attack with my left arm before I felt something break.
"AHHHHH." I screamed in pain as I fell down to my knee holding my broken left arm. I was kicked in the face before I felt Dave take a hold of my throat and punching away. I could feel each punch as they almost broke more of my bones before I was able to get him off me. I jump back away from the Dai Shi vessel. I was panting heavily while on the other hand, Dave Park barely looked winded.
"I guess that it's over now." Dave asked me before moving closer to me. "I can see that you don't have the will to keep fighting, so let's end this." I shoot out like a bullet at Dave, who didn't have time to move before giving a punch to the face.
"That's your single effective hit." I growled at him before his body snapped forward as if nothing happened.
"That was a clean hit." Dave said before he backed off. "I'll keep my promises to not kill you three." Out of nowhere, Stingerella hit me before I fell to the ground in pain." But that doesn't mean I can't hurt you before I leave."
"Goodnight, Red ranger."
Glynda Goodwitch looked down at one of her first-year students before looking over to the other two. Mr. Arc and Mrs. Schnee were both standing in the doorway as Mr. Silva was on Beacon's hospital bed. She looked over at his body which showed that he had multiple bruises and a broken arm.
"How is he doing." The headmistress asks the leading beacon doctor in front of her. The doctor was a Faunus woman with a pair of cat ears, long black hair, and a light skin tone.
"Well, he is honestly lucky to even be alive." The doctor said in a matter-of-fact tone."As you can see, he has multiple bruises, a few small fractures around his body, a broken left arm, and a concussion. That on top of the poison in his veins." The woman sighed as Goodwitch looked at her student with concern. "But it all thanks to his aura, it was able to heal the most serious injury, but we don't know when he will wake up." She nodded before walking over to the two other beaten students.
"It's the first day of school and the three of you skipped half the day. Even worst the three of you come beaten and bloodied." Glynda Goodwitch glared down at the two offenders. "The two of you better have a good reason for everything or may the beaten I'll give you have mercy."
Weiss and Jaune looked at each other while having a silent conversation. Both knew that they couldn't tell the truth to her or even who did this for fear of revealing their identities. The best thing they could do was lie and hope that she believed them.
"Jack wanted to fight more Grimm after the initiation, both I and Jaune told him that it was a bad idea but he wouldn't listen to us." Weiss put her best acting on the front line. "Both of us followed him, and we encountered some trouble. The poison is from a snake." Weiss tried her best to not break down from the glare she was getting. From the look she was getting, the headmistress didn't believe a word.
"That was a very nice try, Mrs. Schnee." She hit the palm of her hand with her crop. "I'll give you one last chance of giving me the truth." Glylnda looked at them for a while waiting for one of them to break. When either did she sighed, before pulling the big guns. "As the both of you heard, Mr. Silva has a serious injury." She looked at both of them. "Are you willing to let him maybe die?"
The intended effect was reached from the looks both of them got. Jaune looked to the floor while having a guilty expression. Weiss looked calm on the outside but from the way, her eyes were moving, she was not that calm. Goodwitch did not like that she need to guilt trip them but she need to know who did this to them.
When neither broke again, she just let out a sigh. "Both of you will be having detention, do you understand?" Both of them nodded. "Dismissed." She said before watching them leave the room. "Those three are going to give me a headache." She muttered to herself.
She didn't know how true her words were going to be.
