Chapter 34: The Mother Plant in the Factory
Mickey pushes open the double doors, so the Toonateers go into the Beanstalk Factory that looks at the insides of a Food Processing Plant. But due to being dark, the Toonateers' eyes are only seen.
"So, this is it?" Mickey questioned.
"It is a factory to create magical beans so we can grow any food imaginable for Wasteland. It's nothing but a little bit of Paint, technology, and magic," Oswald said.
"It sure is dark, quiet, and scary," said Tintley, hugging Turpley.
"Well, it hasn't been used for 94 years, Tintley," Turpley said.
"I sure wish we could find a light switch. It would be faster to look for the Disney Princess."
"Hmm, it should be around here somewhere," said Gus, feeling around.
But when he flips a switch, he said before flipping another, which turns on the lights, "Hmm…That wasn't it. Ah, I got it. Now, we can see properly."
"Gus, what was the other switch you activated?" Ortensia asks.
"It says Power Generator."
"I thought so because the factory is starting to work."
Everything in the factory, like converter belts, pumps, cranks, wheels, and more, moves around as they create magic beans.
"Well, while it's working, I guess we should fix the damages that quakes have made of it," said Mickey as they all looked around.
"There's a stone blocking the way for the beans to come in. I got this," said Ortensia, morphing her hand into a drill.
She breaks the boulder for the beans to come into the factory and then on a convertor belt.
"These beans look dry," Tintley commented before picking one to taste it. "Very dehydrated."
"I see that the hydration mechanism needs a little power up. Oswald, if you please," said Gus, seeing a console on the machinery.
"I'm all over it, Gus," said Oswald while he used his Remote.
With the machine powered up, water begins to hydrate the beans.
"Next, it's the flavoring part," Gus said.
The Toonateers go to a section where the converter belt load with the hydrated beans goes. This part holds eight containers filled with sauces, each with a different color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, grey, and black.
"During our earlier days, we managed to find crystals that create certain sauces of all flavors," Oswald continued. "The red one is Spicy. Orange has Savory. Yellow means Sour. Green is a Bitter flavor. Blue handles the Refreshing. Purple maintains the Sweet flavor. White, as you can tell, contains Salty. Black stands for Smoky. And lastly, grey is Blain."
"It looks like it needs some Paint so it can orderly spray onto the beans without trouble. Allow me, everyone," said Mickey, using his Paintbrush to make Paint fix the section.
But as he does, Tintley and Turpley stare at the sauces and begin to remember a memory. The Guardian Fairies are working in their lab at the Heart-Shape Island while Mother Angel and Papa Devi L are writing in their Arts of Paint and Thinner Book. When an explosion is heard, they rush over to the Guardian Fairies' lab to see debris on the floor and the Fairies coughing hard.
"Tintley and Turpley, are you alright?" Mother Angel worried.
"Physically and mentally, yes. But emotionally, no for this Paint experiment," Tintley said.
"But aren't you trying to separate the color qualities in it?" Papa Devi L questioned.
Then Turpley answered, "That's the problem. No matter which color we tried to get out of Paint, it seemed to backfire. And since it can make any color, we don't know which colors it has within it. That's the third time we made a bad result."
Tintley then goes over to a whiteboard to write on it as it lists the colors they tried to separate that failed: primary colors, secondary colors, and white, grey, and black with X.
"Remember you two: there will always be bumps and cracks along the way to succession. There's never an easy way to reach it," said Mother Angel.
"Have you tried gaining all nine you tried to desire together?" Papa Devi L suggested.
"But that sounds risky," Tintley said.
"Well, taking risks is part of the road to success."
"Hmm. We gotta give it a try, Tintley," said Turpley.
"Okay. Here we go," she said.
After turning a few switches, the Paint separates itself into the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, grey, and black. Once the colors went through tubes, the nine colors went into different test tubes.
"Ha, see? What did I tell? Taking risks can help with your goal," said Papa Devi L.
"Judging by its texture, it looks saucy," said Tintley.
"Try saying that again, Tintley," said Turpley.
"Eh?"
When the memory ends, Mickey finishes painting for each sauce to be poured on a different pile of beans.
"The Paint-Sauces helps with your food suppliance is nice to hear," said Tintley.
"You made these Flavor Sauces from Paint? Why ain't I surprised? You did grant us Invisible Ink and Indelible Ink," said Oswald.
"I should go the magic powder section for the magic to happen," said Gus, while the rest followed.
"So, this magic powder you mention, where does it come from?" Mickey asks.
"The after-shavings from the Disney Animators' pencils, erasers, pens, paintbrushes, and any high tech they used to make TV shows and movies along with their Toons."
"So, basically, Toon pellets?" Turpley joked before bursting into laughter.
"Forget I ask."
A containment unit is filled with the after-shavings as it is smashed, heated, and mixed into a white powder that sparkles. However, a chunk of magic powder blocks the outing on the beans.
"A little Thinner should release the powder," said Mickey, summons Thinner on his Paintbrush to dab a bit on the chunk.
When it was gone, the magic powder did a puff for each bean pile on the converter belt. The Toonateers go over to a computer mechanism.
"What does this gizmo do?" Tintley asks.
"This machine analyzes each bean to determine which food it will grow into and puts a symbol on each bean. I'll get it tuned up," said Gus, taking out his wrench and working on it.
"Um, hello? Can someone get me down from here?" Petetronic's voice is heard.
"Petetronic?! Where are you?" Mickey looks around.
"I'm just hanging around. At least, for now."
Petetronic, in his average size, is seen with his pegleg caught in a chandelier's wire similar to the one inside Rapunzel's Tower.
"You know, once we're done fixing the Factory and find Rapunzel, we're coming after you next!" said Mickey, holding his Paintbrush like a beating ruler.
"Oh, yeah! Go get them, Mother Gothel!" Petetronic commanded.
But when nothing happens, the three Toonateers point their eyes to look around in confusion, along with Tintley and Turpley.
"Uh, Mother Gothel? This is your cue to attack…," said Peteronic in confusion.
When a cockroach sound is heard, Gus finishes fixing the machine and says, "I'm done. So, what's going on here?"
"Are you serious?! BlotToon Gothel! Get your big BlotToon butt down here!"
"Now, now, Petetronic. You didn't remember that we can get the BlotToon Lieutenants to do anything," said BlotToon Mickey, coming out of the darkness at the high platforms outside the boss's office with BlotToons Oswald and Ortensia.
"You three! I was wondering why you didn't show up," said Mickey.
"What are you three doing here?! Aren't you supposed to be on probation?!" Petetronic shouted.
"Probation? You and Big Bad Pete didn't mention that." BlotToon Mickey continued. "You said since we can't take care of those Toonateers, you'll do yourself. Did you never mention that we couldn't come along and lend a hand?"
"Whatever. Just do something!"
"You didn't say please."
"Ugh…Please?"
"Okay. Gothel! Sick 'em!"
BlotToon Gothel then shows herself on top of a staircase with a red Sundrop Flower for a Heart. Next to her is Rapunzel's mirror prison, but it is being held up by a stand that looks like her Tower. She's in fettle position and looking like she's on the brink of cracking.
"All of my past traumas have come before me," she muttered.
"Is she okay?" Oswald asks.
"Have you watched her movie and TV series?" Mickey asks.
"I'm still catching up to your Disney Icon knowledge you got, Mickers."
After showing her cloak, BlotToon Mother Gothel covers herself up with it to turn into a BlotToon version of Grim Guardianess from Kingdom Hearts III while her Heart is placed in the middle of her face.
"Yuck! What the heck did she turn into?!" Ortensia commented.
"Ah, the Kingdom Hearts III reference to Mother Gothel. How predictable," Mickey said.
"Kingdom Hearts III?" Tintley asks.
"What's that?" Turpley added.
"I'll tell you later. Right now, it's Epic Mickey time!" said Mickey, taking out his Paintbrush.
BlotToon Mother Gothel soon slithers down the stairs to attack.
"My word! She's bigger up close!" Gus shouted.
"Aim for the face. It's the weak spot," said Mickey before firing Thinner in her face.
But when she puked out crows, Ortensia hissed at the birds, making them shake in fear before exploding.
"I hate crows!" Ortensia exclaimed.
BlotToon Mother Gothel notices the red sauce magic beans before eating some. Because of this, flaming jalapeños grow on her leaves and throw them at the Toonateers.
"Watch out! Those jalapeños are muy, muy caliente!" Oswald warned as the Toonateers dodged them.
As the battle progressed, the three Generals were pouting at what they were watching.
"Gah, this fight is going to take forever. We need BlotToon Gothel's Heart," said BlotToon Oswald.
"Perhaps give them a hand. Give them some sweet magic beans that milk," said BlotToon Ortensia, who goes to controllers to get a lift to bring a crate of milk magic beans close to the battle.
"Huh?" Peteronic noticed her actions.
When the crate was close, Ortensia ran into it and said, "Everyone, milk magic beans."
"That's it! Spicy is tamed by milk. We can load into the water ceiling sprinklers to take down the enemy," said Mickey.
"I'll load them into the valve. All of you keep the enemy distracted," said Gus while he opened the crate.
Quickly, Mickey spread some Paint beneath the boss's feet for her to slip all over. Ortensia then stretches her body for her hands and feet to hold pillars so the boss can trip on her.
When the boss looked up to see Oswald, he said before using his remote to shock BlotToon Mother Gothel, "Shocking, isn't it?"
After she was electrocuted, Gus finished loading the milk magic beans into the valve.
"She loaded. I'm going to need some Paint and Electricity to make it rain milk," said Gus.
"Let's do it together, Ozzie-san," said Mickey.
"You got it, Mickers," Oswald responded.
But BlotToon Mother Gothel grabbed the half-brothers. Tintley and Turpley flew to spray Paint and Thinner into her eyes, so they get free.
"Thanks, Tintley and Turpley," said the half-brothers before they used their Paint and Electricity to activate the ceiling sprinklers.
Upon activation, the sprinklers let out milk which made BlotToon Mother Gothel melt, the Guardians within her Sundrop Flower Heart be free, and it goes black.
"Yeah! And it's soy milk too!" Ortensia yelled before opening her mouth to drink some.
Mickey tried to hold in his laughter while Oswald smiled as Gus, Tintley, and Turpley came over.
"Oh yeah, Oswald. Ortensia is your type," said Turpley.
"You just said my wife's name," said Oswald.
"Now that you said all of our teammates' names, does this mean you see them as friends, Turpley?" Tintley asks.
"It is," Turpley replied.
"I'll take that as a yes."
The Guardians soon go to Rapunzel's mirror prison to set her free and make it disappear.
Before Rapunzel ran into his arms for a comforting hug, Mickey said, "Rapunzel, are you-? Oh!"
"It's like being locked in my tower again," she muttered while she hugged tighter.
"Rapunzel…You're squeezing me…hard…Can't breathe!"
Oswald then tries to pull Rapunzel off his brother while the others watch. Petetronic tries to get his pegleg loose from the chandelier's wire before the three Generals come to him on the platform.
"You three! I saw what you did! How dare you help that runt and his rabbit brother!" Petetronic complained.
"Put a sock in it, One-leg McFatty Drone!" BlotToon Mickey yelled.
"What did you just call me?!"
"Did you think we were helping you this whole time? Those BlotToon Lieutenants' Hearts are what we need for 'our' plan. And all we need is your work and the Toonateers for it to be complete," said BlotToon Ortensia, holding BlotToon Mother Gothel's black Sundrop Flower Heart before putting it in her suitcase.
"So long, sucker!" said BlotToon Oswald, using his right ear as a throwing knife to cut the wire that Petetronic was caught in.
This makes him fall as soon as Rapunzel lets her grip loosen on Mickey. Petetronic screams like a woman while he falls.
"I'm breathing better," said Mickey.
"We still need to catch Petetronic or those Generals," said Oswald.
But when Petetronic landed in a batch of gummi bear magic beans, everyone looked to where he landed.
"Wow, that was fast," Turpley commented.
"But he's in a sticky situation," Tintley giggled.
The three Giants soon entered the Beanstalk Factory with smiles.
"Hey, Oswald. We got rid of the BlotToons," said Willie.
"Since you got the factory working again, we'll get to work," said Gustav.
"You need help with Petetronic?" Rumplewatt asks.
"No need. He's all gummed up," said Oswald as he pulled him out of the batch.
When Mickey, Oswald, and Ortensia push the rolling tangled in gummi bear Petetronic out of the factory, he begins yelling, "You imbecilic fools! You got the wrong guy! Those Generals are the real deal here!"
"Sure, and I'm a replacement for my husband's old 1st love interest," Ortensia said sarcastically.
Upon hearing that, Mickey was startled and looked at the audience with a "Should I tell her?" face.
Mickey, the time will come soon….Now, where was I? Ah, three Generals smirked as they watched the Toonateers from the platform.
"So, the next time we see them, Mickey is all mine, and you two can keep the others distracted as I take him away," said BlotToon Mickey.
"Got it. But where's BOrtensia?" said BlotToon Oswald.
The two looked around and found her licking a puddle of milk leftovers from the sprinklers like a cat. They stared at her in confusion and disgust.
She turned to them and said, "What? Feline instincts can get the best of me."
"Let's get back to the Island," said BlotToon Mickey.
"This milk ain't going to finish itself."
She continued to lick the leftover milk.
"The real Ortensia wouldn't lick milk on the floor. And you're lucky that I'm Oswald's BlotToon Counterpart, and he always loves his kitten."
BlotToon Oswald grabs BlotToon Ortensia on the back like a cat, so the three Generals leave while she says, "Aw…You're a rotten black carrot."
