A Second Chance Ch. 10

Happy looked own at the woman sleeping at his side, unable to keep the stupid smile off his face. Less than two days ago, her and Luna came in like gang busters effectively putting down a group of grown ass men. He knew from his experiences with Luna that she was a tough as nails type of woman, and hell the night that he slept with Liz after their fight, he knew that Liz was one too. It really pleased him to no end that his lady was not only smart, and beautiful, but also strong enough to handle her shit.

Not able to keep the smile off his face as she snuggled deeper into his side, this was the life that he could have only dreamed up when he was growing up and lying next to him was the woman that was truly made for him in every way.

Momentarily his brain went towards his past with Luna, sometimes it couldn't be helped, he knew that if it wasn't for her taking a risk with him in the very beginning, teaching him what love could actually be like, he wouldn't know the value of the beautiful woman that was next to him.

His mind racing back the conversation they had with each other about a month after Jax was moved in, and they were starting their lives together, it was in the that moment, he knew that he was going to do what he could to be the man she deserved in the first place.

FLASHBACK

Happy found himself sitting in the garage, working on the transmission of old man's truck. Sliding under, he started the process of draining the fluid. As he came up from under the truck, he found Luna sitting on the bench looking at him.

His heart clenched seeing her in a sundress, knowing what she felt like, what she looked like underneath it. Letting out a sigh, he stood up, wiping his hands, "What's up little girl?"

Luna looked up at the man, she could see that he was still a little tense around her, and while she could understand it, she knew if he didn't start talking about things, she was sure that he would close himself off to any possibilities to moving forward with his life, and she cared about him too much to let him wallow in this self-hatred.

Letting out a sigh, he was either going to talk to her, or tell her to go fuck herself, but she knew that she needed to take the risk. "Happy, are you OK?" she asked, never taking her eyes off him.

Tensing at her question, he could see it in her eyes that she was worried about him, perhaps that is what surprised him, after the fall out of him acting like a shithead he could look into her eyes now and see that she still cared for him as a person. "No, not really."

Sitting down, he took out a cigarette and took a big drag. "I know that it's over, I can see that you and Jax are a better fit in some ways, but it still hurts knowing, that if I didn't act like such a fucking idiot, you'd still be mine." His eyes closing at his words.

Luna leaned back, she knew what he was saying was true, but eventually they would have run into something that that proved that they weren't meant to be. "You're probably right, but if you take a moment to look at it, you'll see on some levels we were great, but our foundation wasn't strong enough to last forever."

Looking up at her, he didn't want to believe that, but the one thing that he knew, was Luna was very in tuned with the world around her. So, if he wasn't seeing it, didn't mean it wasn't there. Blowing out some smoke, "I would never have stepped out on you." That was a fact.

Smiling at him, "I know that Happy. It's one of the many things I respected you for." Her eyes watching him, seeing that he was starting to relax a bit. "In truth, you would have been the strong man in the storm, loyal to me, even at the cost of your own happiness. With everything that you do for the club, that's one the thing I would never want to keep you from."

He stared at her, really stared at her, "I'm not ready for anyone else Little Girl, I'm not even sure I will ever be." If he was being honest with himself, finding Luna was just dumb luck, and honestly if Jax wasn't in such a weird place when she first came around, he was certain they would have matched up from the jump.

Leaning forward, gently touching his hand, "No need to rush it," smiling at him as he watched her, "just do me a favor, don't close yourself off to the possibility, take your time heal, but if you find someone, don't let this be the reason you stop yourself, but the lesson you learned from, so you can do it right, do it better." Standing up she walked a little past him, looking over her shoulder at the man, "And who knows, she could be the best thing that happened to you."

Barking out a laugh, "Little girl, you're going to be a tough act to follow." Seeing her smile, "But I will try to be open." Standing up, he needed to get back to work, his eyes raking over her one last time, but a thought popped into his head, "You truly want me to be happy?" he asked, not really meaning to come off sounding like a bitch about it.

Nodding at him, "Yeah. You my dear friend, will always be someone special to me, even if it's not romantic, I will always love you, and you deserve everything good that this very complicated life can provide for you." With a little nod, she turned on her heels leaving him stand in the garage.

Watching her walk towards the clubhouse, in that moment he made a silent promise to her, that no matter what, he was not going to hurt her again. As easy as it would be to fall back into a lot of his past habits before he met her, he was going to keep pushing himself forward, to be the man she respected.

END FLASHBACK

Hearing her moan a bit as she woke, broke his train of thought, his eyes finding her blue ones staring back at him. "Morning Red." Leaning down to kiss her nose.

Liz smiled at him, stretching as she yawned, "Morning Hap." Her eyes finding his, she could tell that he was in deep thought not too long ago, "Everything OK?" she asked him.

"Yeah, I'm good. Just grateful that you're mine." As he went into give her a kiss, he could hear his prepaid ringing. "Fuck."

Not being able to keep the laugh out of her voice, "Answer it, I need to get ready for work anyway. See you tonight?" she asked as she rolled out of bed.

His eyes finding her perfectly round ass, all he could do is nod. "WHAT?" he barked into the phone, his eyes never leaving her body as she walked into the bathroom.

Opie snorted, "Relax, we have some shit to handle with the 1-9ners, you're needed."

"Yeah, I'm heading in now." Disconnecting the phone. Tossing it on the bed, he made the bed for her, knowing that she loved her space neat and orderly, which really worked for him, because he hated messes.

Heading towards the bathroom, he found her stepping out of the shower, "Have to head to the club," leaning down giving her a swift kiss, "I love you, Liz."

Wrapping a towel around her body, "I love you Lowman." Smiling as he jumped in the shower to rinse off.

Making her way to the closet, she quickly grabbed her scrubs, and dressed. Knowing that he would go hours before eating, she quickly made him a breakfast sandwich, leaving it on the counter for him as she walked out of the house.

Several hours into her shift, she was devastated, her brain not comprehending that another woman strung out not only almost killed herself but ended up killing the baby. Looking over at Dr. Nameed, she could see his anger and frustration. Letting out a sigh, "You did everything you could."

His eyes found her watching him, for the most part he was able to hold himself together, but today, looking down at the baby that was born at 22-weeks, his heart broke. "I do my best to keep my self-separated from getting attached to patients, or the children I operate on, but this," wiping his face, his eyes not leaving the body, "this is a travesty." Straightening his spine, he made his way out of the operation room, "I'm going to call the cops, this was murder."

Liz watched him leave, she couldn't help but agree with that statement, this wasn't just on the mother, this was on the dealers that sold their shit to her. Knowing that by law she needed to go check on the mother, as she was her patient, Liz carefully washed her hands, doing everything that she could to keep herself in check. As furious as she was about the whole thing, this bitch wasn't worth going to jail for.

Walking into the room, she found the mother looking around, as Liz watched her, she could see that she would rather be anywhere but the hospital. Didn't she have a soul? Shaking her head clear of such thoughts, she didn't know her story.

Making her way to the woman, she carefully checked her vitals, but she knew that she needed to check her bleeding, "Ms. Charles, do you mind if I check you, make sure that the bleeding is slowing?" Keeping her voice as professional as she could muster.

"Whatever."

Biting her cheek, Liz just nodded at her, slipping on a pair of gloves, and quickly checked her cervix, glad to see that everything was on track to a full recovery. Tossing the gloves in the trash, "Are you comfortable?" she asked, trying to judge her pain level.

Debbie looked at the nurse, she could see that she didn't want to be here, but who the fuck was she, she didn't know what she just survived. "You hate me?" she asked, not even sure why she felt the need to say anything about it.

Her eyes found the woman watching her, and all over her face was lack of empathy, but this was her job, and no matter her feelings towards a patient, she would provide the best medical care that she was required to. "My personal feelings on the matter aren't important, I'm just here to do my job. So, are you in pain?" she asked again, hoping that she would just answer so that she could leave.

"I didn't want the kid," she huffed out, "I wanted an abortion, but my boyfriend wouldn't let me get one. He said I had to have his kid," her eyes burning with anger, "and then that fucker leaves me, cause the reality of being a dad got to him. INJECTING ME WITH DRUGS, WANTING ME TO OD." Her voice cracking, "He kept me hostage until I OD'd."

Liz was taken back, at first, she honestly thought the woman was lying, but looking her in the eyes, she could see the pain was swirling there. "He kept you hostage?" she asked her. If this was true, then this changed everything.

Debbie knew who she was, and the other RN that works here, the were Old Ladies to the SONs, perhaps she could get some justice for herself, while she didn't want the kid, she was going to carry it until it was born, giving the baby up for adoption. Hearing her question, tears slid down her face, "Yes. For the last month."

Wiping her face, "I wanted the abortion, but once I was past my first trimester, and he left, I was going to put the baby up for adoption." Her voice was shaking, "His name is Michael Kraft, I know you're an old lady or whatever, please, he killed that kid because he didn't want to be a dad, I was trying to do the right thing." Grabbing her keys, "Go to my house, on my computer, is all my documents about the adoption and clean bills of health from my OB."

Gripping the key. She just nodded, "The cops are coming, you need to tell them everything you said to me." As she walked out of the room, she looked over her shoulder, "No promises, but I'll look into it." With that Liz left the room, her body vibrating.

Hitting the button for the elevator she made her way out to the garage, she needed to leave, and she needed to get to Happy, Jax, fuck anyone with a god-damn patch would work at this point. Jumping into her Jeep, she sped as fast as she could to the lot, hoping that someone there would be able to help, or at the very least refocus herself.

Seeing only a few bikes, none which were Happy's, FUCK. Shaking her head, she walked straight in, finding Otto, Piney, and Prospect. Looking around the club, not wanting to vomit her shit out in front of anyone that wasn't a member, seeing that it was empty. "I need help."

Piney looked up at the girl, he could see that she was upset, never seeing her like this before, "What's got you twisted sweetheart?" Worried about her.

Letting out a sigh, she told them what her patient told her. Her eyes filled with tears, "I told her to tell the cops, only because I couldn't speak for the club, but please, please tell me there is something we can do."

Otto rubbed his beard, "OK, let's work smart here, let's go to the house first," standing looking down at Liz, "You and me, find out if her story is true. If that's the case, we'll bring it to the club. Sound fair?" he asked her.

Nodding. "Thank you." With that she followed him out to his bike, "I'll follow you."

With that the pair made their way to the house, and Phil sent a text to Happy about what was going on with his Old Lady but making sure to let him know that Otto was with her.

Happy looked across at LaRoy, never really liked the man, but as long as he kept his shit on his side of the fence, he didn't need to like him. It was business. Feeling his phone, he looked down seeing the text from the prospect. "Shit."

Jax looked up at him, "What's up?" he asked his SGT.

Knowing that Otto was there with her kept him from leaving, "My Old Lady. She's on an adventure, nothing serious." Giving Jax a look, letting him know that they'll talk after.

Nodding, he turned back to LaRoy, grateful that the deal was almost done.

Liz pulled up behind Otto's bike on the street, in case they needed to make a quick exit. She watched as he made his way around the house, and back to the front door, "Anything look suspicious?" she asked him.

Shaking his head, "No kid, but looking at the mailbox, she hasn't been here for a while." Taking the key that Liz handed her, opening the door, he walked in first, gun out, while he didn't expect trouble, he had Happy's woman with him, and there was no way he wasn't going to be on guard. Seeing her step in the house, "Stay here, let me clear it first."

Keeping herself from rolling her eyes, she just nodded, and waited. Grateful that it didn't take him too long to check the house, seeing him come back, "Anything interesting?"

"Even without the computer, I think she's telling the truth, in the bedroom, there's a little blood on the door, like someone hit it." Indicating for her to follow him.

Liz walked in step with him, finding the backpack that she mentioned, quickly pulling it up, she entered the password, and found the documents that she said would be there. "Otto," turning the computer towards him.

His blood boiled, this poor girl. "OK, get this shit to Juice, so he can verify. We need to get out, if the cops actually believe her, it wouldn't be good for us to be here."

Nodding, she quickly sent the files to Juice on the secured server line that he set up for research reasons. "Done." With that she wiped down the computer and followed Otto out the door. The entire way back to the clubhouse, she was planning on finding this Michael and breaking every bone in his body. One way or another, he was dead.

Happy found her sitting at the bar, looking all kinds of furious, his eyes seeing Otto, his body was tense.

Looking at Jax, he knew that they needed to talk in Church, and they agreed that Liz could discuss it in there. Making his way over to her, wrapping his arm around her. Kissing her temple.

Leaning into him, "Happy….." surprised that he cut her off.

"Not here baby, in Church." Extending his hand, smiling when she got over the look of surprise.

Looking around the room, it was weird standing in here, Luna mentioned being in here once after their rescues mission, and she was right, it was intimidating. She needed to shake off her nerves, while standing next to Happy, her eyes landed on the President, in this moment he wasn't her pseudo brother-in-law, he was the leader.

Jax watched her, seeing that she was waiting for him to give her the go ahead. Smiling at her, "Go ahead darling. From the beginning."

Taking a second to focus her thoughts, she needed to get everything out without sounding like an emotional bitch. Starting from the beginning she provided every detail that she could recall. "So, as I left her room, I told her to talk to the cops, because I didn't want to speak for the club, but I told her I would at least look into it." Her eyes finding Otto, "I came here, looking for Happy, but you were doing other shit, so Otto agreed to go with me." Giving him a smile, "There were signs of a struggle, and all the documents she told me were on her computer, were there," turning to Juice, "I sent them to your secure line." Letting out a breath, "I don't know what can be done if the cops are now involved, but this man killed his kid, kept the girl hostage pumping her full of drugs just so that she would miscarry." Wiping the tears that were threatening to fall, "He's smart enough not to beat her, he set her up to look like a junkie, no one would question him then. He needs to die."

Happy reached up and rubbed her back, his eyes on Jax, he knew that this hit close to home after what Wendy did to Abel. He didn't have to say anything, the club knew that he would want to stand with his lady, so he waited for his President to make a decision.

Hearing the words that came out of her mouth was enough to send him into a rage, but he needed to remain calm, "Do we really need to vote?" he asked the table.

Tig looked over at Liz, "I'm in."

With that the entire table agreed, but as always Opie was the voice of reason. "I'm in, but Liz was her nurse, if something happens to this shithead, it could lead back to her." Rubbing his beard, "I say, let Hale do his job, see where it lands, if he can get that guy in jail, we have contacts that owe us, keeps us in the clear."

Looking around the table, Liz could see that the rest agreed with that plan, while it wasn't the exact outcome that she wanted, it was better than them turning her down. Letting out a sigh, "Thank you." Taking a step back she kissed his temple, "I'm going to sit at the bar, until you are done."

Happy watched her carefully slip out the doors, once she shut them, his eyes landed on Juice, "Find everything you can on this shithead, anyone that holds someone captive just to kill a baby, needs to die, like a lot."

Jax looked over at Juice, "I want to know everything about him, where he goes, who he sees, and where the fuck he was getting the drugs. Find that we put an end to shit coming into Charming and sends a message to the dealers."

Juice looked over at Jax, "You got it. I should have it done in the next day or so."

Hitting the gavel, "Get some rest boys, the deal with the LaRoy is done." With that they cleared Church and made their way to the bar.

Seeing talking to Luna, Jax knew that Luna would be the first one to strap up, wrapping his arms around his wife, "We'll handle angel."

Smiling at him, rubbing his arm around her waist, "I know," kissing his cheek, "Have I ever told you how amazing it is having an outlaw husband?"

Laughing at her, he turned her around tossing her over his shoulder, slapping her ass, "You have," making his way towards his dorm, "but you could always show me how much you appreciate it."

Liz couldn't help but laugh at them, she loved the fact that they were still in love, and it was only getting better each day. Her eyes finding Happy, "She's right you know," holding up her ring finger, "I should probably tell my outlaw how much I love him." Jumping off the chair, she pulled him towards their room.

Shutting the door behind him, she looked up at him, "Don't move."

Leaning against the door, Happy watched as she slowly undid his belt, smiling as she dropped to her knees. "Fuck Red."

Licking his shaft, she never took her eyes off him, smiling as he hissed when she moved her mouth slowly around his cock. Wanting to make this feel good for him, she took the base of him dick slowly moving her hand in time with her mouth.

Happy watched as she took his cock all way down her throat, it drove him nuts watching her take his cock. "Woman, don't tease me." He growled out.

Knowing that he was wanting her to make him cum. Smiling around his cock, sucking in her cheeks to create a vacuum, she flattened her tongue wanting to make sure that she took every inch of him down her throat. Once she felt him bottom out, Liz took a second center herself so that she could breathe through her nose.

As she got that under control, she slowly massaged his balls in her hand, knowing that was the trick to getting him to cum quickly. Moving her mouth, tongue, and hands around his body, she could feel that he was getting tense.

Doubling her efforts, she could feel him grip the back of her head, rolling his balls in her hand, she leaned forward, making sure that he was all the way down her throat as he came, to push him over the edge, she started humming lightly around his dick.

Feeling his dick slide all the way down, sent him right to the edge, his eyes locking on her blue ones. Gripping her hair, he slowly rocked his cock in and out of her mouth, slowly fucking it, but when she started humming, "FUCK BABY." Thrusting his cock deep into her mouth, his eyes closing as his body came in her mouth.

Happy felt dizzy, looking down he could see that she was still sucking him, it was always sexy as hell when she did that. Gripping her hair, a bit tighter, he carefully pulled her off his dick, "So fucking good."

Wiping her mouth, she pulled his pants up as she stood up. "Thank you for being a badass outlaw." Wrapping her arms around his waist, "I love you Happy."

Leaning down he kissed her head, "I love you too, Elizabeth." Taking a second to center his thoughts, "When do you want to get married?" he asked, wondering if she even started planning it.

Looking up at him, "I've actually given it some thought, maybe 3 months? Or do you want to push it out further?" she asked him, wanting his opinion.

Hearing someone bang on his door, "WHAT?" he barked out.

Phil always knew that Happy was the most volatile especially when Liz was near him, "Juice has something, told me to get everyone rounded up." He said to the door.

Letting out a sigh, "OK." His eyes finding a very amused looking woman staring at him, "I'd take you to the JOP, but you deserve to have the wedding you want. So, you tell me when, and my ass will be there." With that he kissed her lips and headed out towards Church.

Liz stood there stunned, well, even after almost a year together, he still had the ability to leave her speechless.
