Episode 157: Divide and conquer
Tech made the Leviathan dodge the shots from the enemy robots and ships by performing acrobatic and dangerous twists and turns. He let out a proud laugh. "Is this just the tutorial or something? Because I'm getting bored as heck!" Tech flew upwards just when the ship approached the facade of a tall building, so now he was flying just a few meters before it's shiny and reflective surface, being chased by two enemy ships and a group of robots, who were still shooting at the Leviathan. When the ship almost reached the top of the building, Tech flew upside down in order to get fully horizontal again, and when getting a clear shot, as the robots had just reached the top of the building, Tech fired the rocket launcher, making the projectile hit the group of robots between the two ships, which made them explode violently, followed by the ships, the great explosion dissipated after a while, leaving a big smoke on the top of the building, which had gotten destroyed by the explosion as well. "Yahoo! Who's your daddy?!" Tech yelled while flying in wait for more enemies to appear.
Ace, Lexi and Akinyi were fighting the monstrous deer inside the power house of a flooded hydropower plant, the water almost covered the huge generators entirely. As they fought over the surface of a generator, the deer gave Lexi a strong punch on the stomach, making her smash against the wall strongly and fall into the water. "Lex!" Ace deactivated his jetpack and dived in the water, swimming towards his girlfriend, who was slowly getting submerged, he felt a grasp on his foot, which made him unable to keep swimming down. "Lex!" He exclaimed through the water as he extended his hand towards her instinctively and with great desperation. Ace frowned and grunted then activated his jetpack under the water and flew upwards, getting out of it and then just hovering over the water, with his head almost touching the ceiling. "Get off me, demon!" Ace shot his laser vision at the monster's face, making him growl and let go off his foot as he had burned his eye completely, falling into the water.
Ace flew into the water and dived in while deactivating his jetpack and started swimming fast to the bottom while looking around with a noticeable anguish on his face, not finding his girlfriend anywhere. He rapidly swam back to the surface as he couldn't afford being much time in the water with that monstrous deer in it. Ace got his head out of the water and then activated his jetpack again, getting out completely. "Lexi!" He exclaimed with desperation while flying around in hope to find her.
"Ace, I got her!" Akinyi said as she was kneeling down next to Lexi, who was coughing. They were on the rooftop of what had been an office of sorts that was inside the power house.
"Oh, thank God…" Ace said with a great relief as he landed next to his girlfriend, crouching and placing both hands on her face. "You okay, babe?"
Lexi coughed. "Yes…" She smirked at him. "…I'm fine."
Duck and Rev arrived, entering through the large, broken elliptical window with their jetpacks. "The cavalry has arrived!" Duck said as he and Rev landed among their teammates, deactivating their jetpacks. Duck gasped when seeing Lexi still recovering. "Oh, sis what happ…" Duck got interrupted by Ace, who just got in front of him.
"Why did you take so long to come?" Ace looked at him and Rev with a frown.
"We were dealing with the survivors an…" Rev also got interrupted.
"Yes but we spoke like thirty minutes ago, you should've arrived way earlier!" Ace shook his head while walking away from them and rubbing his forehead. "Nevermind, at least you arrived. I hurt that thing badly but we're far from done with him." Almost right after Ace spoke, the beast roared as he got on the rooftop, having swum and climbed with stealth.
