Chapter 21 - Battle and Bold
"What else can we do? But sit still and hold our ground till the others come." Timmy conformed. "
"We're sitting ducks!" Musa snapped, "And they might not be back for hours!"
"She's right, Timmy. We need a plan of offense as well as defense. Those witches will have us buried in no time." Riven added, for once being the voice of reason among them. "We need a plan."
Flora was still rubbing her aches from the crash as she listened to everyone. Before she realized that she was sitting precariously in... Helia's lap! She sat bolt up right! As if a metal yardstick was tied to her back. She felt rather than heard his laughter rippling in his chest. As he leaned forward against her back to ask, "Tecna? Can you and Timmy get the ship up and running without going outside?"
"There are some components that will need to be repaired in person." Tecna responded as she ran a diagnostic program on her palm pal.
While, Timmy ran his on the console. "We'll need a physical presence to deal with several fried sensors. That's not including the emergency panel."
"Stella, could do!" Musa piped in, turning to look at Stella, who was sputtering indignation.
"Are you crazy!" Stella screeched. "I can't make a potion without blowing up half the lab!" She had a point, everyone knew about the horrific "new shade of pink" experiment and how it ended.
"You won't be on your own, Stella." Musa tried to soothe. "Timmy and Tecna can give you an ear piece. As well as attach a camera so they would have a visual feed and can relay intel."
"But!" Her teeth began to chatter, she always underperformed when pressured.
"You're the only one who'll be able project a heat shield around yourself."
"BUT!"
"Stella! You need to do this, for Bloom if not for yourself." Flora cut in, "She's counting on all of us to save her. Which means all hands on deck."
"But what if I blow up the ship!" Stella shrieked. Believing her friends had truly lost it, if they thought having her do any technical work was a good idea.
"Just don't do anything more than what they say and stay focused! You'll be fine as long as you stay focused." Helia added, "Bloom is counting on you..."
"...then let's get to work!" Stella snapped as she stood up flexing her fingers.
"While Stella, is repairing the outer most damage. We need to be ready for those three to attack again!" Riven added, fear leeching into his voice. As yet another lighting bolt struck the ship.
"Seriously, Riven you just had to say something!" Stella snapped, "There's way too much snow coming down!"
"We need to go now!" Helia shouted as the ship creaked, "Forget the repair, we can take care of it in hover mode. But we need to go now!"
"Slight problem...
"What Timmy?" Riven asked as he readjusted the instruments on the control console, that kept being thrown off with each bolt of electricity.
"Our main thrusters need time to warm up or else we run the risk of blowing out an engine!" Timmy snapped, "If that goes then we're really sitting ducks! It'll need a major over haul. And we can't do that on site!"
They stared out the main viewer and watched as Icy's blizzard, no doubt gaining momentum. "We need some serious fire power to get out of here." Musa said dejectedly. "what I wouldn't do to have Bloom with us. Right now." She voiced everyone's thoughts.
"Please, she's waiting for us to play catch-up." Flora told the very somber group at large. "We just need to get there."
"Flora's right now we need a plan." Riven contemplated as he continued to run diagnostic program after program. As the ship filled with silence. Everyone deep in contemplation, till yet another bolt struck them cause the power to flash than go out.
"Anyone got a plan, that includes not getting buried alive or fried." Musa's voice asked into the darkness of the cabin. Before back up power kicked in.
"Yeah, let's get out of here!" Riven snapped, "We can't take another hit like that, again. Or there won't be any power."
