CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #1: Hello everyone! I have returned with a new chapter for all of you amazing readers to enjoy. Before we get into the story, I've got to first say that I am a full time college student and unlike the last semester where I struggled mightily and didn't focus 100% on my school work (which was a massive mistake on my part), this semester i'm 100% focused on my work. Because of that, i've had to set aside my fan fiction writing, no matter how much it has killed me. In light of that shift in focus, I cannot say when chapter ten will arrive, though IT WILL arrive!
CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #2: With that out of the way, let's talk about this chapter, shall we? I wrote most of this chapter weeks ago, hell I wrote some of it months ago! I've been unsatisfied with it and have reworked it several times, trying to make it work whenever I had the time. Finally, inspiration struck me day before yesterday and I did another rework that shifted a lot of the chapter into the tenth chapter, thus shortening and tightening up chapter nine significantly. I sent this latest version over to my beta, nevr, and he agreed that the changes were an improvement. So now i'm bringing this to you as you see it now.
CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #3: A huge thank you to my beta, nevr, the creative sounding board throughout this entire odyssey. He was the one I initially bounced the ideas off of when I contemplated continuing this story as a four chapter short story! Now it looks like eleven chapters and an epilogue is the final tally, a full year later! It's been an incredible journey and I couldn't have done this without him. Having said all of that, enjoy chapter nine everyone, I'm so glad to be sharing this with all of you.
CHARMING'S ADDITIONAL AUTHORS NOTE: I've decided to cut all of the lyrics out of this story to make it more compliant with the rules of FFN, I care about this story too much to lose it over something like that.

It was a hot and sunny afternoon by the pool for the newly minted Bartowskis. The morning had started out pleasantly, the two of them wrapped up in each other's arms. Unlike yesterday, Sarah had gotten morning snuggles with her hubby before they had to start the day; the passionate kissing and heavy petting in the shared shower had been fun, but Sarah had denied her husband, determined not to spend all day in their hotel room. Chuck had grumbled about blue balls, but Sarah had merely promised to make it up to him later on. That had been an hour and a half ago; since then, the two of them had gone and found a place to eat breakfast and were now down at the pool to soak up some sun and enjoy the cool water.
As Sarah stood in the poolside changing tent, changing into her bikini, she had to smile to herself, her poor husband was going to be beside himself when he saw her in this thing. At the moment, her husband was waiting outside the tent for her to finish changing; he'd already changed, so he was just standing out there. Once she finished adjusting herself as much as was possible in this tiny thing, she realized just how small this bikini was up top. Oh, it would have been just fine six weeks ago, but now? Sarah was barely hanging on. Sarah finished putting her regular clothes in the small grocery bag they'd had to resort to using today, considering they didn't have anything else. Once all of her other things were all set, Sarah got a cheeky idea and stuck her head, and only her head, out of the tent and spoke to Chuck.
"I'm almost done Sweetie, can you do me a favor and take this and go find us two chairs?" Chuck grabbed the proffered bag and gave her a confused look.
"Is something wrong?"
"Nope, nothing at all, I'm almost ready, just adjusting everything," she said before winking at him.
Chuck blushed brilliantly and nodded. "Say no more," he said with a nervous chuckle and turned to go find a pair of pool chairs. Sarah pulled her head back inside the tent and watched her husband walk over to the large, luxurious pool. Sarah felt a giddy thrill as Chuck luckily found two open pool chairs that were poolside, right in front.
"Perfect!" she mused to herself as she watched him set their things down and get settled. Once she was sure he was settled in, Sarah stepped out of the tent and started walking, no, strutting to her destination.
Sarah could see all of the eyes on her, not a single man, married or otherwise missed a chance to admire her form as she walked past. Too bad for all of the gawkers, her body was for her husband and her husband alone. Sarah glanced in Chuck's direction, he hadn't noticed her yet, which was exactly what she wanted; he'd see her before too long, he wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of her. As Sarah came to a stop on the opposite side of the pool, directly opposite where her husband was sitting, she turned and looked at him.
As Sarah looked at her husband, he finally saw her in the mass of sunbathers and swimmers milling about. When Chuck saw Sarah in the full bikini, his mouth about fell off his face it dropped so far, so fast. She was looking at him with the most desire filled look he'd ever seen from her; it was like she was speaking to him and him only, but Chuck's brain was too fried to understand the hidden message of her words. As Sarah saw the look of shock and lust on her husband's face, she had to smile that predatory smile she always gave him before they had sex.
"That's right Sweetie, it's all yours," she mused as she took off towards the awaiting water. In three quick strides, Sarah dove gracefully into the water, her body barely making any splashes at all. Her powerful legs and training allowed her to cover the width of the pool in one breath and mere seconds.
"Now for the big reveal," she mused as she reached the edge of the pool, right in front of Chuck. For poor Chuck, the entire scene seemed to play out in slow motion; he watched her stunning form gracefully dive into the pool, swimming right for him. When Sarah emerged from underneath the water, her body glistened in the noonday sun. As she emerged and looked right at him, her hair swept back by the water, Chuck had never seen someone so beautiful in his life.
"Jesus Christ…" Chuck mumbled to himself blankly as her stunning form fully left the pool and closed the distance to him. Chuck sat up all the way in his pool chair just as she arrived by his side; while Chuck had anticipated Sarah taking the seat next to him, apparently, Sarah had other plans. Chuck was wholly unprepared when she sat down astride his lap and pulled him in for a searing kiss. Chuck could have sworn he heard the collective groan of disappointment of every guy around him, but he couldn't be sure.
When the kiss broke, Sarah gave Chuck a giddy smile and spoke. "Hey there."
"Wow," Chuck said mutedly before he swallowed nervously, willing himself not to look below her face. Sarah had to smile at her husband trying to be respectful.
"Look all you want; it's yours and only yours, oh husband of mine," Sarah said before she stole a quick kiss and then stood up. When Sarah went to sit in her own chair, she grabbed one of their towels and tossed it at Chuck's lap. When she saw the confused look on his face, she leaned over towards him and whispered into his ear.
"You've got a bit of a problem going on over there, and considering it's a pretty big problem, I'm going to make sure that I'm the only woman here who knows exactly how big." Chuck simply nodded silently, still a tad out of his element with her overt flirting and PDA. When she pulled back, Chuck got a glimpse of her cleavage and had to look away before he fainted, Sarah simply giggled at his adorable behavior. Sarah laid down in her chair and slipped on the pair of sunglasses they'd bought in the hotel; she could see that her poor husband hadn't moved an inch since her little show.
"Once Big Charlie is gone, I'm going to need you to come over here and rub some of that sunscreen all over me, I don't want to burn," Sarah purred lustily, purely to tease her husband and exacerbate his predicament.
"You're killing me here. First this morning, then this; any more teasing and I'm going to lose my cool and we'll get arrested," he said quietly as he willed himself to regain control.
Sarah simply giggled and spoke flirtatiously, "is that a promise?"
"It's a prediction," he mumbled as he glanced over at her and saw her stunning form once again. The remaining droplets of water on her body gave her an angelic aura that was certainly giving him trouble this afternoon. Sarah turned her head to the left slightly and watched Chuck try hard not to stare and subsequently fail miserably. Her plan was working perfectly, today was shaping up to be the perfect day.

2:48 PM PST
Thank God they were alone on the elevator back up to their room; her husband, who was normally averse to PDA, was ravaging her with kisses. Sarah Bartowski was admittedly a bit shocked; she'd hoped to get Chuck to take charge in the bedroom by getting him a little revved up after denying him all afternoon, but this was so much more than she could have hoped for.
Chuck was on fire, that was plain to see; her denying him in their shared shower and then the three hours of teasing and flirty banter by the pool had turned what she'd hoped would be a small fire to get him to take charge more, into a blazing inferno. She knew the bikini he'd bought her hadn't been a conscious attempt to buy her a skimpy bikini, but she'd known as soon as she'd tried it on, that it would drive him wild. Now as they rode the elevator, he had her pressed up against the wall of the elevator and was trailing kisses along her jaw and down near her pulse point. She could feel his hands roaming her breasts through her crimson top.
"Oh god, we shouldn't be doing this here," Sarah moaned moments before she captured his lips in a kiss. The elevator dinged and Sarah saw the door open. The two of them made their way out of the elevator, Sarah still holding their pool stuff in the grocery bag in one hand while clutching Chuck's shirt in the other. The husband-and-wife duo managed to walk past the people waiting to get on the elevator and slowly meandered their way down the hallway towards their room. Chuck reached into his back pocket as they kissed and walked and grabbed his room key. When they reached their room, Chuck pressed Sarah against the wall once against and the two made out frantically as Chuck slipped the key into the door nimbly. When the door gave way, Sarah practically pulled Chuck inside.
"Lose that shirt before I tear it the fuck off of you," Chuck growled lustfully as he attacked her with his lips once again. Sarah was just as on fire as her husband was, if not more so; her kind, gentle nerd, had become a lustful beast and she was loving it! As they entered the bedroom, Sarah felt Chuck's hands on her body once again as she reached for the hem of her shirt, pulling it over her head, exposing her bare breasts to the cool air of their hotel room.
As they each took a beat to catch their breath, Chuck admired her chest and spoke hungrily, "You've been teasing me all day." Sarah simply gave him a devilish smile and replied in a sultry voice.
"Yeah? Well, what are you going to do with a cock tease like me?"
"This," Chuck said before he practically threw her onto the bed and joined her. Sure enough, it would only be moments before Sarah would see exactly how her husband dealt with a cock tease.
Two Hours Later…
Chuck and Sarah were both completely worn out and absolutely satisfied. Chuck had been another level of aggressive the first round, but then again, she'd been mercilessly teasing him for nearly five hours, so she wasn't surprised. The three rounds after that had been progressively more tender and loving, culminating in the last round, which had been a slow and passionate affair. Sarah was loving this little moment in Vegas, she'd never felt so happy in her entire life and she never wanted it to end, even as she understood the inevitability of what lay ahead.
Staying in the moment, Sarah reached out and grasped Chuck's hand and kissed the top of it several times, laying kisses on his fingers, his palm. "I'll say that plan worked out perfectly," Sarah said contently.
Chuck simply chuckled at that revelation and spoke. "I knew it, you enjoy sex too much to turn down morning sex." Sarah laughed at her husband, he knew her too well and they'd only had a sexual relationship for one day!
"You know me so well," she said as she snuggled up against him comfortably.
"So that whole thing with the pool, where you dove in and swam to me…" Chuck started, before Sarah spoke, anticipating what he was saying.
"That was your loving wife telling every man at that pool that Chuck Bartowski is the man who the blonde hottie is hopelessly in love with. That was me showing all of them that I only have eyes for you," Sarah said before she gave Chuck a loving smile and a kiss. When Sarah settled back down into her spot, she spoke once again.
"I also wanted to make you hornier than you've ever been in your entire life," Sarah said, throwing that tidbit of information out there simply for Chuck's benefit. Chuck laughed at Sarah's admission and simply held her nude form tighter to his own under the covers.
"Two more seconds of you sitting in my lap like you did and I was going to faint right there in front of everyone," Chuck quipped which made Sarah chuckle.
"Well, considering how fast all that blood left your brain to go other places, I'm not surprised." Chuck laughed in response to that remark and shook his head in disbelief at his wife's crude comment.
"You are just incorrigible today," Chuck said to Sarah who was laughing into his chest at her crude comment. "Also, what's with the Big Charlie thing?" Chuck asked.
"I didn't think calling it Little Chuck was very nice, considering it's the opposite of little," Sarah said bluntly. Chuck was silent, which surprised Sarah; when she didn't get a response, she looked up at Chuck and saw the amusement on his face.
"What?"
"You're just so silly today; I love it when you're playful like this," he said honestly.
"I'm just so happy, I've never been this happy… ever, and that's all because of you, Chuck," Sarah said passionately as she looked up into her husband's adoring eyes.
"After you had to leave, I never thought I'd feel happy again; but now that we're here, it's like I've been reborn," Chuck said with palpable awe in his voice. Sarah couldn't agree more with her husband, he'd hit the nail on the head. The contrast between life with and without her husband had been stark, and she too had doubted she'd ever feel joy ever again.
Sarah spoke quietly, almost to herself. "It's a pretty good feeling."

Castle
Burbank, California
Sunday, May 10th, 2009
8:20 PM PST
John Casey felt like a caged animal; his asset was AWOL with his trained assassin girlfriend, and Casey was simply sitting here in Castle with his thumb up his ass! From the moment that he realized Bartowski and Walker were AWOL, he'd been tracking Bartowski's location. If the two idiots were intending to run, then they were doing a shitty job of it, considering they were in Las Vegas, the most surveilled city on earth, and they both had their cellphones with them. Casey didn't know why he wasn't on a chopper headed to Vegas with a strike team, to reacquire the moron and his traitorous girlfriend. He'd been waiting for two days now, just pacing back and forth in Castle, but no orders had come from General Beckman.
The entire time Casey had been waiting for his orders, he'd had Castle's computers searching for any new mentions of Walker or Bartowski in any of the government's databases or on the Internet. So far he'd seen nothing new, but considering he knew exactly where they were, he wasn't too worried about losing them. Casey was sitting at the main conference table reading the latest issue of Upland Bird Hunters Quarterly. Casey hadn't had a chance to hunt Pheasant in far too long, but he still enjoyed it. He could still remember the cold fall days up in Northern Michigan with his father. Casey's father was a factory worker at the old Ford, Rouge Plant in Dearborn; when he wasn't on the factory floor making Ford cars with American steel, he was hunting with his son. Those cold fall days hunting for Pheasants up in Grayling and Gaylord, their old bird dog Dusty happily flushing birds up into the sky for them. Those days when the two of them would bring back a cooler full of Pheasant breasts were always great days. Sitting down for dinner with his mother, the look of pride on her face at her two strong men as she always called them… seemingly a lifetime ago. Pheasant hunting was about the only connection John Casey had to his old life; his father had died of a stroke while he was in Afghanistan right after 911. Casey knew that his mother was still alive, but she was alone now, never remarried, no grandchildren. He'd left all of that behind to serve something greater than himself, and he didn't regret that choice, but that didn't mean he didn't miss them sometimes.
The sound of Castle's computers grabbed Casey's attention; setting his magazine aside, Casey grabbed the keyboard and mouse he'd been using and brought the alert up on the big screen.
New item(s) found…
Expanding the notification, Casey saw a legal document, a form of some kind. As the NSA agent and former Marine expanded the document, he was floored by what he saw… The document was a marriage license application form for Sarah Walker and Chuck Bartowski. Sitting up in his chair, Casey quickly began reading through the document to see if it was real, and to his shock, it was. In an instant John Casey, real name Alexander Lucas Coburn, knew that Sarah Walker's birth name was Magdalena Lisa Wilson, and her parents were Jack and Emma Wilson. As Casey read the document, the implication began to set in; Chuck and Sarah ran off and had gotten married. Casey couldn't begin to grasp the array of emotions he was feeling at that very moment. The idea that Walker and Bartowski had driven to Vegas was one thing, but to learn that they'd gotten married was just stunning. He'd known that Walker, or Bartowski as it was now, had been hopelessly compromised by her asset, but he'd never imagined that she was this compromised. Knowing that she had been that in love with him, that she'd married him, he couldn't imagine how hard this all must have been for the two of them. Beyond that though, was the sad reality that Beckman would likely send Sarah away, when she invariably recalled them. They'd get some time to be the happily married couple, but then they'd never see each other again. Walker or is it Bartowski? He was going to continue calling her Walker. The thing was, Walker is a federal employee who could quit at any moment for any reason. The two of them are married, what's to stop Walker from simply quitting and moving in with Bartowski anyway?
The more Casey thought about it, the messier it became; Walker would be an uncontrollable variable if she was allowed to be near Bartowski as a civilian. She would be someone they could never control, someone who could easily take the Intersect and disappear if she thought that her husband was in danger. Beckman was a cold, calculating woman; she'd have ways to make the two of them separate, she'd be able to force them apart. Beckman could threaten his sister, she could threaten to toss him in a bunker, somewhere Walker would never find him. Beckman could threaten Walker's family and force Bartowski to be the one to push Walker out of his life. At what point did it stop being about the greater good and become pure malice? Was ripping the newly minted Bartowski's apart for the sake of national security really worth the damage it would do to Bartowski mentally? What about Walker; would she survive as an agent, without her husband by her side? Casey doubted her chances; she was a good agent, but once a person falls in love, they're never the same person as they were before.
This entire situation was completely fucked; in order for Beckman to get her way, two people's lives had to be destroyed. Then, he'd be left to pick up the pieces of a shattered Intersect… again; but this time, Casey wasn't sure if there was any possibility of a recovery. This entire situation simply made him mad; this was all avoidable. Things had been fine on the team, there had been absolutely no need to blow everything up. Now, with this revelation that Walker and Bartowski had run off and tied the knot, the coming end of this journey looked to be one filled with needless heartbreak.
"God, this assignment is making me soft," Casey grumbled as he shook his head in disgust and left Castle. Walker and Bartowski were out there enjoying a moment of happiness together as a married couple, husband and wife, before the fucking CIA and NSA interfered and tore them apart. Sometimes Casey was ashamed of his profession; it was nights like this where he wondered if he should have told Keller to pound sand and simply stayed in the Marines and gone back to Kathleen.

8:28 PM PST
They'd arrived just in time it would seem, as a crowd was beginning to gather in front of the world-famous fountains. The rest of their day had consisted of walking up and down the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and seeing the sites. At one point, Sarah had spotted a rare book store that she'd wanted to go look at, but they needed to make their dinner reservation, so they hadn't had the time sadly enough. Their dinner had been splendid; they'd gone out to dinner at a well-regarded Italian place that wouldn't kick them out for their plain clothes. Sarah had worn her crimson top with the sweetheart neckline and the tan capri's, while Chuck had worn a nice button up short sleeved shirt that's design was a pleasing cross hatching pattern of multiple shades of blue. Chuck had paired his shirt with a set of tan chino shorts and the cheap tennis shoes he'd bought in a pinch. As the two of them found a spot near the fountain, they held hands in a comfortable silence. Neither had much to say, it was a nice night, the heat had cooled down a lot now that the sun was gone.
Sarah could feel the chill in the air and she had no doubt that her headlights were on if she were to look down. When Sarah had chanced a look down, it was plainly visible to all those that dared to gawk at her as she walked by. Then again, her husband hadn't bought her a bra and she was going to milk that for all of the potential teasing she could, before they had to go home. She'd had a wonderful evening, arguably the best date she'd ever been on, only surpassing her first date with Chuck, which had been interrupted by car chases, disabling NSA agents in a nightclub, and watching porn with Chuck, erm… watching Chuck use porn to disable a bomb. Tonight had been different; tonight had just been two people, two people who loved each other, two people who wanted to make the other the happiest person in the world, two people wanting one more moment together.
Sarah had been to Vegas many times during her career, it was a favorite party city for the CATS, along with Miami, whenever the CATS were in the United States. That being said, Sarah had never actually seen the fountain at the Bellagio, she'd heard it was especially romantic, but she'd never been there. What was the point in going to see them if she was alone? Instead, she'd spend those nights partying with the CATS or locked away in her hotel room reading. Solitude had never bothered Sarah, she'd spent most of her life alone, both physically and emotionally. The thing was, since she'd met Chuck and been around his family, being alone was just awful; her six weeks alone in her DC apartment had been the worst, most emotionally draining experience of her life.
The thing was, now that Sarah had Chuck back in her life, she didn't want to go back to the way things had been just three days ago. Yes, she'd been promising herself to make a life for herself outside of the spy life and be happy, but the reality was that the ceiling for her happiness was significantly lower without Chuck. With Chuck in her life, it wasn't so much a ceiling to her happiness as much as it was a floor, meaning there was no limit to how happy she could feel with a gift like Chuck in her life. Every moment she'd spent with Chuck, even during their miserable cover, had been the happiest time of her entire life, a splendid gift for a dying soul.
As Chuck walked hand in hand with his beautiful wife, he glanced over at her and saw the introspective look on her face. She didn't look troubled, so whatever his wife was thinking about wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The fountain up ahead of them looked absolutely beautiful in the evening; the two of them had been walking around the strip after their dinner, intent to get to the Bellagio in time to see the fountains in one of the fifteen-minute cycles. As the two of them got within one hundred feet of the fountains, Chuck turned his head and spoke to Sarah.
"I know it's cliché, but I've always wanted to kiss someone next to the fountains," Chuck said honestly with a hint of embarrassment on his face. Sarah gave Chuck a loving smile and reached up to caress his cheek.
"Well don't worry oh, husband of mine; you're going to get to do just that tonight," Sarah said with a loving smile. Chuck matched her adoring look with one of his own as they got within fifty feet of the fountain.
"I've been to Vegas only one other time, way back while I was at Stanford; Bryce and the rest of our frat drove here to party one weekend during the summer." Sarah simply nodded.
"Yeah, I've been here a few times over the years, but that was simply to party with some colleges, never to do anything like this," Sarah said honestly. Chuck simply nodded in understand and opened his mouth to reply, but was interrupted by the sound of his phone ringing. His phone hadn't really rung all weekend, so the sound of it was rather jarring. Chuck reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, bringing it to his ear.
Chuck hadn't received a call all weekend, so he fully expected this to be his sister demanding to know what the hell was going on. Chuck answered without a care, "Hello?"
"Good evening, Mr. Bartowski," came the unmistakable voice of Brigadier General Diane Beckman, Director of National Intelligence. In an instant, Chuck's mood flipped as he stopped walking; Chuck's change in posture and sudden stop alarmed Sarah.
"General," Chuck said flatly, completely lacking emotion.
"How's Las Vegas?"
CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #4: I know a cliffhanger is really mean, and I know I said I didn't know when chapter ten would be out, but trust me, this was the only way to make this chapter work thematically! Please don't kill me!
CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #5: As for the future, I've got a good 85% of chapter ten written, I just need to connect the beginning 20% to the ending 65% and i'm golden! I also need to finish inserting the song lyrics (got a good one for chapter ten BTW) into chapter ten and then send the whole thing off to Nev for beta. Yeah with my schedule and class work it could be a bit and I'm truly sorry about that, but college HAS to be my first priority. Thinking longer term, I've got an idea for what I want to happen in chapter eleven, but I've got nothing written yet. I do have a tiny bit of the epilogue written, just to get the idea on paper before I lost it, but that's for down the road.
CHARMING'S AUTHORS NOTE #6: So, what did you think of chapter nine of I Don't Want You Desire? What do YOU think Chuck did to show Sarah what she gets for being a tease? What do you think Beckman has to say? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a review! Reading your reviews, good, bad, or otherwise, is always a joy for me. I feels so good to be back here with you all, i've missed you all so much and I can't wait to share more with you!
Until Next Time :D
