Team recaps are going to be happening from now on.
Raijin (Elekid)- Male
Ability- Vital Spirit
Moves- Thundershock, Charge, Quick Attack, Ice Punch, Cross Chop
"Use Quick Attack Rattata!" Joey exclaimed while thrusting his right hand forward.
Izuku watched as Rattata was covered in a white energy before charging forward. Izuku didn't need to call out to Raijin to dodge. The little electric type easily sidestepped the attack as Rattata blasted forward, tumbling over itself as he missed its target.
"Raijin use charge, wait for it to get closer." Raijin nodded as he began spinning his arms faster and faster until they started to blur. At that point the electricity started to dance around the pokemon's arms and horns.
Joey reacted, not wanting him to let up. "Now go for a bite!"
Rattata, having recovered from his fall, charged forward once again, this time, it's jaws open as it ran at Raijin.
Izuku, seeing the easy opening, quickly called out his next move. "Raijin, use Thundershock then send it flying with Ice Punch!"
As Rattata jumped towards Raijin, he released the excess electricity straight into the rat. Both Joey and Rattata's eyes widened in fear.
"RATTATA! DODGE IT!" The boy yelled in worry for his pokemon.
But alas, it wasn't enough. The rat pokemon was sent flying back twitching in pain. As he started to get up, he looked up to see Raijin jumping down on him, his fist switching between its natural color and a light blue.
The rat tried to stand but couldn't fully bring itself to its feet, its body still spasming. It cried out in pain as Raijin's punch landed, knocking the little pokemon out.
Izuku stared for a second before a grin spread across his face. "We won." He whispered in shock.
"WE WON!" He cried out before running to Raijin and picking him up and spinning him around.
He stopped in when he realized what he was doing and blushed. Quickly setting Raijin down, who seemed surprised at Izuku's sudden outburst, he turned to the young boy and bowed. "I'm sorry if I came off as rude. You battled well and trained your partner well."
The boy was staring at him with a wide eyed look, before smiling. "That was awesome! You were super strong, Izuku!" He exclaimed while jumping up and down.
Izuku smiled at the little kid's enthusiasm before nodding. " Yep, I am pretty strong. And soon, you will be too if you practice and study a lot too. Next time, you might be able to beat me too." He added in with a genuine smile.
The kid's smile seemed to grow as he nodded and agreed to get stronger before rushing off to the pokemon center.
Izuku felt Raijin nudging his leg and giving an amused smirk. He mimicked Izuku picking him up and spinning around while giggling. Izuku blushed from embarrassment and looked away. "In my defense, I did just win my first battle."
Raijin mocked his answer before giggling a bit more.
"C-come on. We still have a ways to go." Izuku said, looking straight ahead as he began to rapidly walk down the path. Raijin had to snap out of his laughter and jog to catch up to his trainer.
[Later]
Izuku and Raijin were sitting in a comfortable silence on their walk. It's been a couple hours since they last saw any other trainers, and the pokemon were growing scarcer as they made their way deeper into the forest.
"Elek." Rajin suddenly spoke, gaining Izuku's attention.
As he turned to look at his partner, he saw the little yellow 'mon rubbing his stomach while gesturing to his mouth. Izuku, deciding to take a gamble, asked if he was understanding correctly. "You're hungry, right?"
His partner nodded and pointed to a clearer part of the forest, not too far away from the path. He walked over to the area and nodded in agreement when he saw the clearing. Pretty nice area, a circular area with sunlight coming in from above. Pretty good spot to have lunch.
Raijin walked over to a tree before sitting down and resting his back on it while his trainer unloaded his supplies. He blinked in surprise as he saw his trainer activate his ability and come back dragging two dig rocks behind him.
He looked over to Raijin and gestured for him to come over and sit. The little pokemon, shaking his head, made his way over to his trainer for lunch.
As they ate some sandwiches Izuku made for the day, he started telling his partner about his experiences from his world.
Raijin could only hope he was kidding. Because the situations he got into in the year were wild. At least he wouldn't have any dull times with him.
As Izuku was animatedly describing the fight between a hero named All Might and something called a Nomu, they were interrupted by a flash of light to their right.
Quickly sharing a glance, they both got up and ran towards the light. It wasn't too far from where they were eating. When they arrived Izuku realized it was yellow - wait, no. It was an abra.
It seemed to be fighting off a group off . . . a trio of vulpix? What the hell was going on? He's read that abra only teleports away and sleeps basically all day. What the hell was one fighting for?
His eyes widened even wider when he saw the little guy punch out a little vortex of fire. The vulpine pokemon scrambling away to avoid the blast. They retaliated by shooting a couple embers and one incinerate.
Abra teleported away but seemed to be exhausted. He Raijin shared a look before jumping in to help. They both started running forward, both charging their respective abilities. Raijinn spinning his arms behind him to charge more electricity while Izuku was charging his Full Cowling to 9%.
They both jumped in front of the abra, Izuku ready to swat away any more fire, and Raijin shooting a blast of electricity at the trio of vulpix.
Both the vulpix and abra froze when they saw him covered in strange energy. Being closer, he was able to note that the trio of vulpix were pretty young. Two of them had only sprouted two tails while the leader had 3.
He turned to Raijin and ordered him to use thundershock. Raijin wasted no time and immediately sent his attack forward.
Vulpix was confused. She was intrigued. But for the first time in a while, she knew what she wanted. She wanted to be on the trainer's team.
She had spent the past year caring for her two younger siblings, and gathering food. These tasks were hampering her time and ability to train. She was constantly helping them out.
They were out scavenging for food, and saw a stash of berries. They found an abra nearby but ignored it, after all, they always ran. She and her kin were starting to dig in before the abra sent them stumbling back with confusion.
Then a fight ensued. Abras never fought back to her experience, but this one did. And she would not lose to one. The fight took a bit longer than she would have liked, due to it teleporting or redirecting attacks sent its way.
Then that's when he showed up. That trainer with the baby pokemon by his side. The only difference between him and a normal trainer is that he was surrounded by energy. Energy of his own creation.
She and her kin, along with the abra, stood there amazed. After all, when has a human had powers like this? This was amazing. His presence felt powerful, and there was a slight ozone smell, too.
She grinned at this. An amazing trainer, that could get her stronger. She wouldn't mind getting captured at all. Her siblings knew how to care for themselves, she didn't need to watch over them anymore.
She was so lost in her thoughts she didn't notice the incoming bolt of electricity, unlike her siblings.
Izuku watched the leader of the trio of vulpix get hit by the thundershock. Even though she took the attack head on, she took it well. She managed to shake it off.
The leader seemed to yip something to the younger vulpix. They retreated to the tree line, before yipping back. The leader of the pack yipped once more, with a little more sternness, causing the smaller two to run off.
She quickly turned back to face him before backing up and settling in a stance. Izuku, not completely understanding what was going on, asked the Vulpine pokemon a question. "Do you. . . do you want to battle?"
The fox pokemon seemed to roll her eyes, even if he couldn't tell due to the distance and nodded. He looked to his partner, a silent question of him wanting to battle being asked. His partner met his eyes and shrugged, walking forward.
Vupix yipped again before running forward in a Quick Attack, clearing the distance between them quickly. Raijin barely had time to raise both his arms to block, but he wasn't rammed into.
Instead the vulpix had run around and pelted him with embers on his back. Raijin arched his back in pain when he felt the heat of the attack make contact.
He quickly turned around and sent a blast of electricity forward only to miss. This time vulpix rammed into his starter, following through with the quick attack.
Vulpix kept using hit and run tactics to avoid Raijin. Izuku, trying to help Raijin, was unable to help him deal with the speed. He was watching the fight clenching his fists, trying to think of how to help him. Hurry up and think, think, thi- oh, wait. He so stupid.
Letting out a self-deprecating sigh, he ran forward and intercepted the fox, grabbing it by its right hind leg and slamming it into the ground. The fox pokemon cried out in both pain and surprise at the sudden attack.
Before the fox could recover, his partner sent the strongest thundershock he could form as he was running forward, readying a cross chop, his hands barely emanating fighting type energy.
He didn't need to use the move however, because Izuku threw a pokeball at the vulpix, watching it dematerialize in a red light as it was sucked into the pokeball. Raijin clicked his tongue when he saw the pokeball, and started charging in preparation if it broke out.
They both stood still and watched the ball shake.
Once. Twice. Third. After what seemed to last forever, the ball finally stopped shaking, eliciting a sigh of relief and grunt of annoyance from Izuku and Raijin.
He chuckled at his partner's antics. "Relax Raijin. You would've lost if I let you keep fighting. Besides, now we know I need to train you with speed in mind. Or at least get you started with Quick Attack or Shock Wave. Actually, preferably both."
As Izuku kept on with his ramblings about ways to train Raijin; Said partner softly kicked the pokeball containing the damned fox. He grudgingly picked it up, before handing it to his trainer.
Izuku quickly grabbed the ball and attached it to his belt, while trying to hide his excitement. Even if it was obvious by the way he was grinning with a megawatt smile, and how he was practically vibrating with joy.
Raijin snickered while Izuku was somewhat put out by his partner laughing at him. "Hey! It's alright for me to be this excited! We just caught our first pokemon!" Izuku stated while puffing out his chest with bravado.
Raijin faced him with a raised brow, or the equivalent of that for an elekid. Izuku raised his brow right back at him. "What? We both worked together to catch Vulpix, doesn't that mean we caught him?" Raijin conceded with a shrug.
They both froze when they heard snort behind them and heard something softly thud against the ground. They both turned and saw abra lying against the ground, breathing hard.
They both quickly moved over to the abra to help. Izuku turned to Raijin before giving him commands. " Raijin, get a potion from my bag. Biggest pocket on the left side. I'm going to be checking his wounds." Raijin nodded before moving behind Izuku while unzipping his bag.
Abra stayed still carefully watching Izuku as he checked the burns, scratches, bites, and bruises littering his body. Abra was helping, pointing out some other injuries he missed. Raijin handed him a potion from over his shoulder, while zipping his bag back up.
As Izuku got to work, cleaning and spraying the cuts, he started to talk to Abra. "Thanks for not fighting us. It would've been harder to help with your injuries if you ran. It would've been a pain to chase you down to try and help." Abra simply snorted and nodded.
Once Izuku was done treating his wounds, Izuku turned back to say something to Raijin, but watched his eyes widen at something behind him. Izuku quickly turned back when he noticed a flash of light.
He sighed when he noticed Abra wasn't in his previous spot, having teleported away. Izuku let out a sigh. "That's a shame, I was going to offer him some food and if he wanted to join the team. It would've been nice to have someone as smart as an alakazam." Raijin nodded along to his trainer.
"Soooo, should I run to Saffron? I think Vulpix is pretty hurt. Plus it would be nice to sleep in a bed right?" Raijin seemed to ponder it but nodded in the end.
"Alright, that's good. Want to hop on my back or get in the ball? Raijin pointed to the ball." Izuku nodded before returning to his partner.
He activated Full Cowing at his limit, before running just a little ways from the path. After all, he couldn't let anyone see him with his Quirk active. That would ruin the point of keeping it hidden.
[Later]
After a couple hours of running non-stop, he was barely on his feet, but made it to the edge of the city. Being too tired to care or notice the people around him staring at him due to his disheveled state, he suddenly yelled in anguish.
He fell to his knees as he held his head. He forgot some of his supplies in the clearing and he would have to go back to the forest to collect his supplies. As he slowly got back to his feet he stumbled his way back into the brush to activate his quirk once again.
He had some supplies to save.
So . . . . yea. I did, in fact, not submit the chapter sometime during the weekend. Better late than never however. I apologize for that, but I'm still pretty shit at following a schedule, but I'll keep trying to stick to it.
Also if you're wondering why Izuku isn't shy with his pokemon, then I'll go into detail on that next chapter. Leave any pokemon you think would be cool for him to catch, I would like to read and maybe incorporate any ideas I like form you guys.
So yea hope you like the chapter, and leave any criticism about the story and chapter. Any way to improve my storytelling, character interactions, or writing in general would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
