Midnight Adventures.

"No way, you actually saw someone in the Midnight Channel?" - Yotsuba said, shocked as she slammed her soda into a table.

"Calm down, don't yell it like that" - Fuutarou said to calm the girl down, as he just told her of what he saw the previous night.

The two were sitting together during their break time, which Fuutarou used to tell her about his experience the previous night after trying the Midnight Channel.

"You don't understand this don't you? This is huge! It means that the Midnight Channel actually works, everyone needs to know about this!" -

"Are you sure? I couldn't even see who it was, all I saw is that it was a person, no features otherwise" -

"Oh, that's right… In that case, we need to do it again! We need to see what was really there last night" -

"We'll just have to wait for another rainy day I guess, and it might not be coming in a…" -

"Actually, it's supposedly going to rain later tonight again" -

"Are you serious right now?" -

"I wouldn't joke about this. But this time, I'm going to be there with you when you watch it" -

"What? Why?" -

"Because I wanna be there if something else happens, I wanna see the Midnight Channel with my own two eyes" -

"Why don't you do it at your house then? That could be a better place for you " -

"Are you serious? If I tried, there's a 99% chance one of my sisters would walk in and turn off the TV and make me go back to bed" -

"You gotta be kidding me…" -

"Come on, don't be afraid, I'll be there with you in case anything gets scary" -

"Hey, Yotsuba, what are you doing here?" - one of the Nakano siblings said as she arrived. The most distinct part of her clothing was the headphones around her neck - "We were supposed to eat together" -

"Miku! Sorry, I got caught up talking with the new guy. C'mon, tell her your name" -

"Hi, I'm Fuutarou Uesegi, the guy who crashed into your sister yesterday" -

"I remember you. I felt bad for how Nino acted with you" - she said with a quiet voice.

"Don't worry about her, she said she doesn't want to approach you anymore" - Yotsuba said at Fuutarou - "You won't have to worry about her anymore" -

"At least, I don't want to go through something like what happened yesterday again…" -

"Oh, speaking of yesterday. Hey Miku, tell the others I'm gonna be a little late tonight, I have some stuff to do" -

"You know Nino and Ichika aren't going to like that. What are you planning on doing anyways?" -

"Oh, nothing in particular, I'm going to give Fuutarou a tour of the town, since he's new here and everything" -

"Didn't you do that yesterday?" -

"That? No, I just took him to Junes and we had burgers there, he hasn't seen all of that Inaba has to offer, and I'm going to show it to him" -

"So it's just a walk?" -

"Yes, you have my word!" -

Before Miku could say anything, the door to the classroom opened and in came Nino, Ichika and Itsuki Nakano.

"What's taking you so long?" - Nino asked as she turned her view towards Fuutarou - "What is Yotsuba doing with him?" -

"She said that she's going to take him on a tour of Inaba later today" - Miku said as she returned with her sisters.

"And… Why? He has family right? Let them take him on a tour of the town" - Nino answered while crossing her arms.

"I'm trying to make friends with him, sorry if that bothers you" -

While they were talking, Fuutarou's mind drifted to the night before, the figure he saw on the TV, that vague human shape that could barely be deciphered in between all the static. Would he really see it again if he were to use the Midnight Channel a second time?

While distracted, he didn't noticed how all the girls but Yotsuba left the classroom, while the girl sat down before letting out a big sigh.

"Ah… They're my sisters and I like them but it's such a pain to deal with them…" - Yotsuba said as she turned to look at Fuutarou - "Everything fine?" -

"Me? Yeah, I was just thinking about yesterday" -

"Alright. We have our plan, where are we going to meet?" -

"Do you seriously want to go through with this?" -

"One hundred percent. Should we meet here at the entrance before 12? Maybe at 11:30?" -

"Just for the record, I'm not at all happy with the fact that we're going to try it again" -

"Yeah yeah, I get it. So it's a yes or a no?" -

"... Yes" -

The rest of the day went by rather uneventfully, and once classes were over, both Yotsuba and Fuutarou left together to take a walk, making the lie she told her sisters believable. While out, they talked about what they would do should the Midnight Channel's myth end up being true.

Yotsuba was pretty excited about becoming the girl who managed to discover it for the first time, while Fuutarou couldn't deny that the whole matter had captured his curiosity. Both wanted to see what was behind the mysterious channel.

"Should I bring some food for the big moment? How about a few burgers? Maybe some rice balls?" -

"Rice balls? That sounds interesting" -

"Really? That got you more than the burgers?" - she said before laughing a bit - "You're funny, Fuutarou" -

"Thanks I guess?" -

She laughed after seeing his confusion as the two continued their walk until it got dark, when both went to their respectives homes, their plan for the night now in motion.

Entering his house, Fuutarou saw Nanako doing her homework while watching TV, a commercial for Junes playing on it.

"Everything's great at your Junes!" -

"Everything's great at your Junes!" - Nanako sang the theme song right after the commercial ended.

"Hi Nanako, having a good time?" -

"Yeah. Dojima said he's working until late tonight" -

"Again? Man, how heavy is his work?" - the boy asked himself before going to his room to lay down for a while and wait until it was time. He was just hoping Dojima wouldn't arrive immediately while he was with Yotsuba.

The hours passed, and Dojima never arrived. Seeing as it was 11:15, Fuutarou decided to leave his house and start making his way towards the school to meet up with Yotsuba. He quickly checked to see if Nanako was still asleep, and luckily she was.

He grabbed the spare keys, locked the door, and left.

The night was foggy, just like the early day was. It gave the whole place a strange vibe, a scary one. He didn't want to be out for longer than he needed to, so he rushed to the school in hopes that Yotsuba would already be there.

She wasn't.

He stood in the entrance and waited for a few minutes until he saw a familiar figure through the fog. He knew it was Yotsuba, and he greeted her from afar. The figure rushed to him, and out came the girl with a smile on her face.
