Chapter 2

Goh ran and ran, calling for Mew, Max and Bonnie. Cinderace ran ahead of him. Cinderace stopped and came back once it noticed its trainer wasn't behind him anymore. It found Goh had stopped to catch his breath.

"Cinder?" Cinderace asked its trainer with great concern. Goh looked at his Pokemon.

"I'm fine, Cinderace." He reassured it. "You just keep on chasing after Bonnie and Max. I'll catch up…eventually…maybe." Goh's Rotom phone then rang. Goh took it out of his pocket to answer it.

"Hello?" He asked, his breath back to normal.

"Goh." Professor Cerise said. "I'm sorry to have to tell you this, especially when you're out enjoying the reunion with Ash's friends, but something terrible happened to your Suicune while it was visiting." Goh was shocked.

"Suicune?! Oh no! What happened?"

"Some bad guys came and took it away. Chrysa, Ren and I tried to stop them, but they were just too strong for us and they got away. I'm really sorry, Goh. We'll try to get it back. I promise." He then hung up. Goh put his Rotom Phone away. Cinderace saw its trainer clenching his fist in anger.

"Suicune!" He said to himself. "Whoever did this to you won't get away with it. I promise. If it was those same bad guys as before, they are going to pay big time for this!" He looked at Cinderace. "Cinderace, looks like we have to get Mew another day. Let's just get Bonnie and Max first." Cinderace agreed and ran alongside its trainer. Goh then bumped into Gary. He fell to the ground.

"Well, that hurt." Goh said to himself. "Sorry about th…" He then recognized that it was Gary.

"Well, well, well," Gary said to Goh. "We meet again, Ashy boy's friend." Goh groaned.

"Oh no, not you again!" He narrowed his eyes at Gary. "And it's Goh." Gary looked confused.

"Goh? Is that spelled g-o or g-o-u?" He offered his hand to help Goh back up to his feet.

"No. It's G-O-H. The H is silent. And why do you want the spelling? I doubt Project Mew will have a spelling test." Gary shrugged.

"Who knows? They might. You never know for certain. Anyways, I was just curious. So, do you need my help up or not?" Cinderace offered to help Goh up to his feet as well.

"I don't need your help to get up. I can get up on my own, thank you very much." Goh got up to his feet. "See?" Goh was about to fall but caught himself. "Easy peasy!"

"Whatever! Hey, where's that Grookey of yours?"

"It's not here right now."

"Well, I hope it didn't run away from you." Goh began to get annoyed.

"It did not run away from me."

"That's nice to hear. I was worried because if you're not strong enough, that might be one of the reasons Pokemon run away from their trainers." Goh scowled.

"Look, I don't have time for you to bully me today. I have far more important things to do." Gary held up his hands in defense.

"Whoa! I'm not bullying you. I'm just stating the facts. I'm just saying that might be the possibility." Goh couldn't help it and got angry,

"Well, it's not, ok?!"

"Ok, chillax. You are just too sensitive. You have to learn how to take a joke."

"I do know how to take a joke, really funny ones. And that one just isn't funny to me."

"Sorry, I got you all worked up again. So, what's so important? Are you after Mew?" Goh was surprised at this.

"How did you know about that?"

"Because Mew flew past here a little while ago and it is part of Project Mew's goal. Isn't that why you joined?"

"Yeah."

"Then there you go!"

"It's none of your business, but I was after Mew just now. But something came up and now I have to postpone chasing after Mew right now."

"What's more important than Mew?" Just then they heard two children scream.

"Bonnie!" Goh panicked. "Max!" He ran to where the screaming was. Cinderace did too. Gary watched him go. Hmmm, he might need my help. I might have to postpone chasing after Mew too. And with that, he went after Goh and Cinderace.

Bonnie ran after Max. Dedenne jumped to the ground to run beside his young caretaker.

"Max, slow down!" Bonnie shouted.

"I can't!" Max shouted behind him. "Jirachi's in that crystal which is on the back on that guy's motorbike! I have to save him!"

"What?" Bonnie questioned out loud. "In the crystal? Jirahi? You're not making any sense whatsoever."

"Denne. Den." Dedenne added.

"You'll see soon enough. Anyway, you and Dedenne didn't have to follow me you know."

"Well, someone had to follow you out here! The motorcycle is super fast. Can we even keep up?" Max realized she may have a point, but kept on running.

"Maybe so. But we just have to keep on trying." He looked ahead and stopped when he noticed that the motorcycle wasn't in sight anymore. He looked around.

"Where did it go?" Bonnie stopped as well when she was by his side. So did Dedenne.

"It's gone." She observed. "I told you that we wouldn't catch up." Max groaned.

"Aw, man! Now what are we going to do?" Max groaned again.

"No idea. But let's go back. I don't think we can do anything at the moment." Max didn't want to, but knew she had a point again.

"Fine!" He headed back with both Dedenne and Bonnie. Dedenne jumped into Bonnie's pouchette. They both gasped as they saw Meowth approaching them. The cat Pokemon looked up at them.

"Meowth?" Max asked, He groaned yet again. "What are you doing here?"

"Were you following us?" Bonnie asked. Meowth smirked.

"Indeed I was, kiddies!" He said. "Jessie and James told me to split up and follow you guys just in case you found any valuable Pokemon."

"We didn't catch up to the motorcycle for your information." Max informed the talking Pokemon.

"And even if we did," Bonnie put in. "We know what you would do. And there's no way that we're going to let you."

"Dedenne!" Dedenne said.

"I knew you would say that, mini twerpette, that's why I'm calling for help. Come on down!" They heard a Pelipper fly above them. The pelican Pokemon dropped a machine to the ground. It was the Rocket Prize Master.

"What is that?" Max wanted to know.

"Looks like something my dorky brother would make." Bonnie put in. "I do hope he didn't fall for their tricks and unknowingly make it for them."

"No, he didn't." Meowth told her. "This is a machine made for Team Rocket members only, the Rocket Prize Master. Allow me to show you mini twerps how it works." He then stood upside down inserted his charm into the shot machine. He turned the clank and a Pokeball appeared inside. He picked up the Pokeball.

"And the 'Mon of the day is…" He threw it.

"Can a Pokemon call upon another Pokemon?" Max wondered out loud.

"We'll soon see." Bonnie said. The Pokeball showed that it was empty with a note inside. Meowth was disappointed.

"Say, what gives?" He went up to it, grabbed the note from inside and read it to himself. He was then in utter shock."No way!"

"What did it say?" Max asked.

"Because I'm already a Pokemon, it won't let me send out another Pokemon." Meowth told him. "Oi vey!"

"You didn't know that already?" Bonnie asked.

"Apparently not. I was hoping though." He then grew serious and let out his claws. "Never mind though. I'm plenty strong on my own. I can take on two tiny children, paws down." Dedenne jumped down from the pouchette, ready to fight.

"Want to bet?" Max challlenged.

"My Dedenne can beat you, hands down." Bonnie stated.

"Dedenne." Dedenne agreed. Meowth ushered Dedenne to make the first move.

"Bring it on, little rat."

"Ok." Bonnie said. "Dedenne, use Nuzzle." Dedenne nodded, got super close to Meowth and did just that. The cat Pokemon screamed as he was being shocked. He collapsed to the ground.

"I shouldn't have done that." A fainted Meowth uttered as Bonnie and Dedenne cheered.

"Shouldn't have done that is right." Max said to the cat. "You know you're no match for us. Not even when you're with your buddies. It's sad, really."

"Max!" A voice cried out. Bonnie and Max looked and couldn't believe it! There before them, floated Jirachi.

"JIRACHI!" Max couldn't help but to shout out with joy. He and Jirachi both ran in for a hug. "Oh, Jirachi, I've missed you so much."

"And I missed you so much!" Jirachi stated. Bonnie and Dedenne went over to them.

"So this is your friend, Jirachi?" Bonnie asked. "Clemont said it makes wishes come true, right?" Max and Jirachi looked at them and nodded. "That's so cool!"

"Isn't it?" Max said to her. "Jirachi's the best. Oh and Jirachi, this is Bonnie."

"Hello!" Bonnie said, waving to the wish Pokemon. She ushered to Dedenne. "And this is Dedenne."

"Dedenne." Dedenne said its greeting.

"Hello, Bonnie and Dedenne!" Jirachi said. "Anyone who is friends with Max is a friend of mine!" Bonnie smiled.

"I'm glad." She looked at Max, confused. "Clemont also said that Jirachi is asleep for every 1000 years and is only awake during the Millennium Comet. So, why is it awake now?" Max looked at Jirachi.

"Yeah, why is that Jirachi?" He wanted to know.

"It's because of that bad guy!" Jirachi answered. "He was taking me away. So I chose to awake from my slumber in order to escape him. Now we must get out of here before…" Before Jirachi could, they heard a growl. The kids looked and gasped as they saw an Ursaring before them.

"I think you kids have something of mine." Its trainer said. Max noticed him as the motorcyclist and held Jirachi back.

"No!" He argued. "Jirachi isn't yours so you can't have him!"

"Is that so?" The man asked.

"It is!" Bonnie replied. "So why don't you just leave us alone?"

"Den, denne!" An angry Dedenne agreed.

"Afraid not, girly. I'm not leaving without Jirachi. Now I'll ask again. Can I have Jirachi?"

"No!" Max shouted again.

"I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice." He looked at his Ursaring. "Ursaring, attack those kids!"

"Dedenne, Nuzzle!" Bonnie ordered. Dedenne went in for Nuzzle.

"Slash that pipsqueak away!"

"Ursaring!" Ursaring slashed Dedenne to the ground. Bonnie ran up to it.

"Dedenne!" The girl cried out.

"I don't think we can stand a chance against that guy." Max told Bonnie. Meowth came to and went to their sides, putting his claws out again.

"Don't worry, kids." Meowth said to them. Bonnie looked at him. "I'll deal with this!" He pounced towards Ursaring. "No one takes Jirachi anywhere except me, you dig?!"

"Ursaring, slash him away." The bad man ordered. Ursaring slashed the cat Pokemon to the ground.

"So, what do we do?" Bonnie asked Max..

"Only thing we can do…" Max began. "RUN!" Max ran away, screaming. Bonnie nodded, picked up Dedenne and did the same. The man and Ursaring chased after them.

"I'm coming too!" Meowth said, who got back to his feet and ran with the kids.

"You can't run away from us, kids!" The man said.

Goh saw the running and screaming kids and Meowth. He looked at Cinderace, all determined.

"Time to show these two what we're made of." He told the rabbit. "Cinderace, use…" Before Goh could call out an attack, a black blur jumped down above them.

"Umbreon, use Swift" Goh looked and saw Gary behind him. Swift made contact with Ursaring and the big bear went hurling towards a tree.

"Nice job, Umbreon!" Gary congratulated his Pokemon.

"Umbre!" Umbreon stated.

"Uh, excuse me?" Goh said to Gary. "Cinderace and I has this handled. You kind of stole my thunder."

"I just figured that you needed my help."

"Thanks, but I think I knew what I was doing."

"Whatever. Now you can see if the kids are okay." Goh then realized something and nodded. He went down to where Bonnie and Max were. The Ursaring trainer scowled at Gary.

"You're pay for that!" He looked back at his Ursaring. "Ursaring, you're okay."

"Ursaring!" Ursaring roared, ready to fight once more.

"You two, okay?" Goh asked both Bonnie and Max.

"Yeah." Max stated. "But it would have been better If you had battled instead, then you would have redeemed yourself a little in our eyes." Goh was irritated at this.

"I came down to check up on you two. The least you could do is be more appreciative of me."

"Max, maybe we should thank him." Bonnie said to him. "He went all of his way to check to see if we were ok."

"Whatever. It still doesn't change the fact that you're a coward." Goh was really getting tired of Max's attitude.

"Ursaring, use Hammer- Arm!" The bear Pokemon trainer ordered. Ursaring doing just that.

"Umbreon, dodge it and use Swift again!" Gary commanded. Umbreon obeyed. Swift hit Ursaring.

"Ursaring, keep attacking!" He looked at Jirachi and tried to grab it from Max. Max held Jirachi tight.

"Hey!" He yelled.

"I just want the Jirachi, kid!"

"Well, you can't have him!"

"Leave him and Jirachi alone!" Bonnie yelled as well.

"Den! Denne!" Dedenne shouted. Goh saw Max and the man fight over Jirachi. Jirachi obviously wasn't enjoying this at all.

"Stop!" Goh demanded. "You have to stop this right now! I won't let you hurt Max or Jirachi!" Bonnie was impressed by this, but resumed with her shouting pleas. Cinderace shouted too.

"I don't like this." Meowth stated. "And neither does Jirachi. Why can't we talk this out like adults even though the majority of this group is filled with Pokemon and children? Why can't that one adult be an adult here?" Jirachi's wish tags glowed, and then both Ursaring and his trainer vanished out of thin air. Everyone was confused.

"What just happened?" Gary questioned. He and Umbreon went down to where everyone was.

"He and Ursaring just vanished." Goh stated. "How does that even happen? Was it a Pokemon's doing? It just doesn't make sense." Max then remembered something and looked down at Jirachi.

"Was that you, Jirachi?" Max wanted to know. "Did you just poofed him and Ursaring just like you did with my sister?"

"I did." Jirachi answered. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm tired." It then went to sleep in Max's arms.

"Um, will someone please clarify what just happened?" Goh asked. So Max explained. Everyone was shocked.

"No way!" Meowth stated. "It can do that?!" Max nodded. "That makes it one valuable Pokemon! If we had Jirachi, we could wish to have every Pokemon in the world then we don't need to steal."

"Except you're not getting your paws on Jirachi." Max said to Meowth. "So, just forget it!" Meowth held up his paws in defense.

"Whoa, chill your jets, mini brainy twirp! I get it! Still, a talking cat Pokemon can dream, can't he?"

"And I can easily get every Pokemon plus Mew with Jirachi too." Goh stated. "Then my dream can come true!"

"Of course you would." Max said.

"So where did that guy go?" Gary wanted to know. "If Jirachi only grant wishes, who wished him and his Ursaring away?" Max shrugged.

"You know," Goh stated. "I wonder if it's possible if Jirachi did it by itself since it was in danger and it wanted the danger to just disappear."

"I don't think so." Max said to Goh. "But maybe. I don't know." Goh gave Max a knowing look.

"Are you saying that I could be right?" Max grew annoyed and angry.

"I said I don't know! It could be a possibility I suppose!"

They then heard a weak cry. They all looked for the source. Goh gasped as he saw a Sprigatito with an injured leg in the bushes. Bonnie saw it too.

"Who's that Pokemon?" She wanted to know as everyone else came to the bushes and looked at the hurt grass cat Pokemon too.

"Don't know." Goh admitted. "But my Rotom Dex will." He pulled out his phone.

"No data found." The Rotom Dex stated, shocking everyone.

"No data?" Goh asked. "What does that mean?"

"It means that there is no information for it. Duh!" Max stated, matter of factly. Goh glared at him.

"I know that."

"Maybe it's a new Pokemon." Gary suggested. "Completely from a different region." Goh looked at Gary.

"A new Pokemon? You think so?"

"Could be. Maybe your Rotom Phone is just familiar with eight regions and isn't updated for the ninth. hence why it's not recognizing it and spitting out information." Goh then saw Sprigatito's injured leg and gasped.

"It's hurt." He observed. He took his backpack off of his back,

"We have to take it to a Pokemon Center." Bonnie said. "But where is it? Do we have time?" Max took out his PokeNav.

"I'll look it up right now on my PokeNav." He stated.

"In the meantime," Goh said, taking out a potion from his backpack. "I'll cure it with this."

"You have potions in your backpack?" Bonnie asked, beaming. Goh nodded at her.

"Yep! You always have to come prepared. You never know what will happen."

"That's so true!"

"Den, Denne!" Dedenne agreed. Max wasn't amused.

"Show off." He muttered to himself.

"You guys will learn this when you become Pokemon Trainers." Goh told them. He then looked at Sprigatito. "Now for that leg of yours. Sorry, this'll sting a little." He sprayed the infected area with the potion. Springatito did its cry while wincing. "Again, my apologies. Next, I'll put a band-aid on your wound." He put away the potion and took out one Band-Aid out of the box, closed and put the box away, and put on the Band-Aid. "There we go. You should feel better in no time." He zipped his backpack back up and put it back on his back as he stood up.

"Wow!" Bonnie observed. "A new Pokemon! Just like Litten, Poppilo and Rowlet, I get to see it before my brother. I'm so lucky!" She looked at the Pokemon. "What's your name?"

"Sprigatito." It replied. Bonnie grinned.

"Well, hi, Sprigitito, I'm Bonnie." Dedenne went beside them. "And this is Dedenne."

"Dedenne!" Dedenne greeted. Goh had an idea.

"I know!" He said, getting out a Pokeball. "I'll catch it. After all, I don't think it'll be wise to leave it while it's still healing." Max sighed.

"And here we go." He said. Goh threw his Pokeball.

"Pokeball, go!" The Pokeball hit Sprigatito and it went into the ball. Goh cheered to himself.

"Yes! I caught a brand new Pokemon, a Sprigatito!"

"I wouldn't celebrate just yet." Max said to him. Just then, Sprigatito popped right back out. Goh was confused as he caught the empty Pokeball.

"What the…Why didn't I…" He checked his Rotom Phone.

"Don't be a thief!" It chimed.

"It seems Sprigatito already has a trainer." Gary observed.

"First you're catching Pokemon the non- traditional way and now you're trying to steal other people's Pokemon?" Max questioned. "Boy, you need to learn how to be a decent Pokemon trainer and this just isn't the way." Goh just glared at him.

"He already stole Grookey from us." Meowth stated.

"I did not!" Goh argued with him. "Grookey chose to go with me when it destroyed the Pokeball from you guys. There's a difference." Goh looked at Sprigatito, disappointed that he couldn't catch it. Hmmm, I wonder where its trainer is.

"Say, Goh," Gary said to him. "What does this kid mean the non-traditional way? You don't weaken a Pokemon first and just catch it?" Goh groaned.

"Not you too!" He turned to Gary. "Look, Gary, I know I'm different, but that's ok. There's nothing wrong with being different. Sometimes people can't help it or they're born that way. People live their own lives and making fun of them because it's not 'normal' to someone else is not okay. Discrimination of any kind is wrong and once the world sees that, it'll be a much better place for you, me, and everyone else."

"Uh, nice and inspirational speech, Goh. But I already knew all of that stuff."

"Oh, you do? Good, because the more people who are educated on the topic, the better!"

"Bonnie!" Bonnie heard a familiar voice. The little girl looked and grinned as she saw Zygarde in its 10% form. The others looked too. "Squishy!" The girl said proudly, running to it.

"Squishy?" Max questioned. Bonnie looked at him and nodded.

"That's what I named it when I found it in my bag one day."

"You named this awesome looking Pokemon, Squishy? Sorry, but I wouldn't. That sounds lame," Bonnie grew mad.

"No, it's not! Take that back! You'll understand when it changes shape." Max was confused.

"What are you talking about?" Bonnie looked at Squishy.

"Squishy? Can you turn into the cute little thing I saw you as when we met?"

"I would, Bonnie." Squishy replied. "But this might not be the time and place to do it. Danger might happen at any second. I came to warn you." Everyone was confused at that.

"Danger?" Bonnie asked. "Squishy, we heard an explosion not too long ago. Do you know what's happening?"

"I do not." Squishy answered. "But it looks like it has to do with the Legendary Pokemon of each of the eight regions."

"Of course!" Goh put in. "After the explosion, we saw lots of Legendary Pokemon running away from something. That explains why bad guys took away my Suicune."

"You have a Suicune?" Bonnie questioned.

"And I caught it too."

"Let me guess," Max began. "You caught it with just one catch. You didn't weaken it first. It was that easy for you."

"Yes, but only because it was in danger."

"A likely story!"

"It was! And it's in danger now. I have to save it and make sure its okay!"

"But how are you going to find it?" Bonnie wanted to know.

"Unfortunately, I have no idea on that." Goh admitted. He then brightened up. "But I have to do this. Like I said before, it was in danger in the past, forcing me to catch it. I may not be too fond of weakening a Pokemon first before catching them, but I care deeply for every single one of them."

"If you think that'll win me over, you'll have to try much harder than that." Max stated.

"That's fine. I get it. You don't have to like my style, that's your choice." Goh had a feeling that he already won Bonnie over, but Max might take a little more time. He secretly hoped it was sooner rather than later.

They all heard a loud bellow, leaving everyone confused, but Goh, who grew happy.

"Now what?" Meowth asked.

"I know that sound!" Goh said excitedly. They all looked and saw Suicine running towards them. "It's Suicune! It must have escaped!" Suicine stopped in front of Goh. "Suicine, the professor said that you were kidnapped. I'm so glad that you're okay." Suicine bellowed again. Meowth panicked.

"Hate to tell you this brainy twerp," Meowth began. Everyone looked at him. "But Suicine's not out of the woods yet. They're still after it. They might be catching up right now as we speak."

"You mean us?" Everybody looked to see a bunch of people behind them, all in the same uniform. One of them was the same guy from before. His Usaring was beside him.
