Desi woke early and got out of bed to go check on Loki. She walked out quietly to not wake Thor and walked into Loki's room quietly to not wake Laney. She saw that the transfusion had been stopped and that his vitals were stronger.

Laney roused as she heard noise around her. When she opened her eyes, she saw Desi checking over Loki, which made her smile. "Morning."

"Good morning. How are you feeling?" Desi asked quietly.

"A little stiff from laying how I am, but I'm okay. Star nursed a couple of hours ago. I just had Frigga lay her on the bed with me," she replied softly. Laney looked over at Loki and reached up to caress the side of his face. "How is he?"

"His vitals are getting stronger, and his breathing is much better. I have a couple treatments for his wounds today, but I'm confident he will wake up today." Desi assured Laney, then she looked around to make sure Frigga was the only other one in the room. "That woman that was here... I'm pretty sure she's Loki's birth mother." She whispered.

Laney's eyes widened. "Do you really think so?"

Desi nodded. "Think about it... it's not safe for the Jotnar here at all. She made me promise her safe passage home last night, because the Jotnar would not come to help her. She thought it was a trap but came anyway. That is not the kind of risk someone would take, unless it was for their own child." She pointed out. "Their blood is also a near perfect match."

"It makes a lot of sense when you add it all together," she replied. "Did she make it home?"

"She's still here. I asked her to stay a little longer, just in case Loki needs another transfusion. Fari set her up in one of the nearby rooms for the moment." Desi explained, then began filling out her chart. "I told her we would make sure she gets home safely. I know Thor will agree with that."

Laney nodded as she absently ran her fingers up and down Loki's arm. "I've missed him so much... now he doesn't even know I'm here."

"Yes he does. At least on some level. His breathing and heart rate change when you touch him." Desi explained.

"It does?" She questioned. "I hadn't paid attention."

Desi nodded. "He's calmer when you're with him. He has also reacted to Star's presence."

Laney furrowed her brow. "How would he know the difference? Smell maybe?"

"It's not a conscience reaction. When he wakes, he won't even know he reacted." Desi told Laney.

"Oh..." Laney looked over at him once more and smiled softly. "I just hope he wakes up. I miss his voice."

"Just give him a little time. He will wake today with how strong his vitals are. I had to stabilize his mind as well, but no damage was done." Desi promised Laney.

Laney sighed then bent over and kissed Loki's cheek. "I love you my Loki," she murmured, then moved to stand and stretch. "I'm going to go shower and change clothes, then I'll come back in here. Does Frigga have Star?"

"She does. They are both still sleeping. I will stay here with Loki if you want, until you come back." Desi offered.

"You don't have to. I think there's a bathroom in here, but I'll have to go to our chambers to get clothes," she replied.

"Do you want me to send someone to get clothes for you? I would offer, but I'm really not feeling very well." Desi sighed.

Laney frowned. "Get yourself some potions and have your exam. I will get clothes and come back in here to shower. All is well Desi."

"I'm going to get a potion, but I want to wait for Thor for the exam." Desi admitted. "I feel like I need to try to eat something as well."

"Try to after the potion," Laney replied. "I'll be right back," she added, then turned and left the room.

Desi nodded and checked on Loki one last time, then grabbed a nausea potion before leaving. When she returned to the room Thor was in, she quickly drank it.

Thor looked up from his place on the bed, a book in his hand. "Everything alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, I was just checking on Loki. He's doing much better this morning." Desi said. She walked over and sat on the bed then snuggled up to Thor.

He tucked her against his side and kissed her temple. "That's good news. Have you eaten?"

"Not yet. I took a nausea potion on my way back, so I hope it will help me feel better." Desi said then nuzzled her face into his neck for comfort. "I'm kind of scared to go to the appointment today."

"Why are you frightened? Do you want me to come with you?" Thor asked as he ran his hand up and down her arm.

"Of course I want you there... we should be able to hear a heartbeat." Desi replied. "When I thought I was just sick, I barely ate anything, and this last week has been so stressful... I'm just scared something will be wrong."

"Nothing will be wrong," Thor consoled. He put the book down and reached to the small table beside him, then put a mug of tea in front of Desi. "Here, it will soothe you. But you need to eat."

Desi took the tea and sipped it. "I want to try to eat something. My stomach has settled so much now that I know you're alright." She said truthfully. "Will you go to the appointment with me?"

"Of course I will go with you," he told her. "Does anything come to mind that you would like to eat?"

"Everything and nothing." Desi chuckled. "I think something light would be best to start with."

"Broth maybe?" Thor asked. "With some bread?"

"Noodle soup sounds really good. Could you send word for some? I don't really want to move much right now." Desi said softly.

"Yes darling." Thor kissed her temple then stood and walked to the door to give notice to a servant.

Desi curled up in bed to wait for Thor. "Should we go for the exam while we wait, or after breakfast?" She asked once the servant was gone.

"I want you to eat first. I think you would feel better," Thor replied.

"Alright, we'll eat first." She agreed. "What are you reading?" She asked curiously, unable to see the book title since the spine was facing away from the bed.

Thor blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "I took mother's advice. It's a pregnancy book."

Desi smiled softly at Thor and patted the bed for him to join her again. "Have you found anything useful for morning sickness?" She asked, sincerely wanting to know.

"It states that peppermint is helpful. I've also heard talk of pickled things being helpful too," he told her as he returned to his spot beside her.

"I wonder if we have anything peppermint... I just know I can't live off these potions all day, every day." Desi said, still feeling queasy.

"Loki makes peppermint tea," he commented. "I'm not sure of much else."

"I don't think he will be up making it for a while." Desi replied. "If you come across anything else, please let me know."

Thor nodded. "I can always get the tea from mother. He learned how to make it from her."

"I will have to ask her as soon as she wakes. I feel so sick right now." Desi said, willing herself to not get sick.

"Is the potion not helping?" He asked, concerned.

"It hasn't helped yet, but I'm still recovering from all the stress." Desi told him. She moved from lying next to him to curl up on his lap.

"You really need to rest sweet girl. You're overworked."

"I'm trying to. Other than our checkup, and tending to Loki, I think I'm going to take a week or two off." Desi admitted. "I think I need it after working all the extra shifts the last few weeks."

Thor nodded as he slowly ran his hand up and down her spine, hoping to soothe her. "Would you like to do your exam in here? So, we don't have to walk anywhere?"

"That would be nice." Desi agreed. "I don't know which healers are even here today though." She relaxed under his touch and pressed a soft kiss to his neck.

"I think Fari is still on call," he murmured as he tilted his head, hoping for more contact.

Desi nuzzled Thor's neck, then kissed just below his ear. "I missed you so much."

He smiled and turned to capture her lips in a slow kiss. "I missed you as well."

Desi moved to pull Thor into a deeper kiss but was stopped by a knock on the door. "That's probably breakfast." She sighed.

"I believe so." Thor pecked her lips once more, then stood and went to the door. He quickly returned with a large tray and sat it on the bed between them. "It looks like they gave you some fruit too."

"Do you want some? There's no way I can eat even half of this." Desi told Thor.

Thor reached over and popped a couple of grapes into his mouth. "I can share it with you," he answered with a smirk.

"Have all you want; I only want a little bit." Desi said. She picked up the bowl of soup and the spoon, taking a small bite.

He smiled as he watched her eat as he continued to take pieces of fruit from her bowl. "Food helping?"

Desi ate a few more bites of the soup, then put the bowl on the tray. "It is helping. I knew I needed to eat, but I couldn't keep anything down while we were away."

"Try the fruit. The strawberries are really sweet." He grinned as he took one from the bowl and offered her to take it.

Desi smiled and took a bite of the strawberry. "Those are sweet!" She agreed, then took it from him to feed him the other half.

Thor chuckled and grabbed a couple more grapes. "I knew you would like them."

Desi took a couple grapes as well. "Thank you for getting us breakfast, I feel a lot better now." She said sweetly, letting her other hand rest on her belly.

"That's good to hear. I was getting worried," he replied.

"I think I'm alright now babe." Desi said, then curled up closer to relax. "I'm all done for now; you can have the rest."

He smiled at her and finished most of the food. When the servant came to retrieve the tray, he notified them that they would be doing the exam in their room. "Now all we do is wait."

"After this, if Loki isn't ready to wake, I think I'm going to take a bath." Desi said softly.

"That sounds relaxing," he replied softly as he wrapped his arms around her.

"Do you want to join me?" She asked, hoping he would.

"If you would like me to, I will." Thor smirked and gently nuzzled into her neck before he kissed her below her ear.

"I would like that." Desi said, sighing contently. She tangled her fingers in his hair but was stopped from doing anything more by a knock on the door.

Thor kissed her temple and let Desi compose herself while he stood. "Come in."

Fari walked in but stayed by the door. "Your highness." She greeted Thor and bowed. "I was told all care today would be here?"

"Yes. My fiancé needs her first pregnancy exam," Thor stated.

"With all due respect, your highness, I could better perform my duties in a healing room." Fari said truthfully.

Thor turned and looked at Desi, then back at Fari. "She's very overworked from being stressed. It would be best to keep her comfortable."

"Yes your highness." Fari said. "I need to go get a few extra supplies; I will be right back." She bowed, then left.

"Are you alright Desi?" Thor turned and asked.

"Yeah, I'm just still a little nauseous." Desi answered.

"Anything I can do?"

"Just hold me. It will pass in a few minutes." Desi told Thor. When Fari walked back into the room, Desi gave her a little smile.

Thor kissed Desi's cheek, then nodded in greeting to Fari.

Fari walked over with her bag of supplies and quickly did as much of the exam as she could. Once she had the various testing vials done, she lined them up to wait for their results. "A separate appointment will be needed for the heartbeat. I'm only a general healer and not trained in any of that." She told them.

"That will be fine. When should we do that?" Thor asked.

"I would try to have it done in the next few days." Fari replied, then looked at the various vials. "Everything else looks good though. Hormones are strong. As of right now, I would say the baby is healthy."

Thor smiled and hugged Desi to his side. "That's excellent news."

Desi sighed in relief. "Thank gods all is well." She said softly.

"Do to the stress, I am ordering a week off of work to start. Check in after a week and we will see how everything is going." Fari told Desi, then turned to Thor. "It would be best to keep her out of all stressful situations for now."

"I will do that. Thank you Fari," he replied.

"Is there anything else I can help with?" Fari asked them.

"Umm... Desi is having issues with nausea and the potions seem to be taking longer than they should."

"Did they prior to her leaving?" Fari asked curiously.

Thor looked over at Desi. "I'm not sure."

"I only had one, but it helped a lot." Desi told Fari.

"I would say the stress, and lack of food and sleep is the main problem. Once her stress is lower, the potions will help more." Fari told Thor.

"Alright. I will take good care of her," Thor assured.

"Also, based on the hormone levels, she is almost six weeks along." Fari said, then left.

Thor turned to Desi with a smile and kissed her cheek. "I love you my sweet girl."

"I love you more." Desi said sweetly. She counted back the weeks in her head, then blushed softly. "Four weeks ago is when we went on our little trip..."

He chuckled as he remembered back to the night when Desi couldn't get enough of him. "You must have been fertile. It would explain your insatiableness."

Desi blushed even deeper and nodded. "The first fertile time after being on the prevention can be rough. I forgot about that."

"I had a feeling you were fertile when you couldn't get enough," Thor teased as he snuggled into her neck.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Desi giggled. "I need to check on Loki soon. I just know he's going to wake up."

"I knew you would deny it," he chuckled softly. "I hope Laney is the first person he sees."

"I didn't mean to deny everything." Desi sighed. "Laney will be the first person, I just need to monitor his vitals as he wakes." She explained, then slowly got up out of bed.

Thor grinned and nodded. "If you want to go check on him, you can."

"Are you staying here?" She asked him, then stretched.

"I can, unless you want me with you."

"If you don't mind... I'm still feeling clingy." Desi admitted.

He chuckled and stood to join her. "I shall go with you then."

"I'm just going to make sure he's stable when he wakes, then we can sneak off for that bath. He needs time with Laney and Star before he has other visitors." Desi said, taking Thor's hand. When they walked over to Loki's room, he was already starting to stir a little.
