Lucifer's POV

Papa ran in "LUCIA!" He quickly ran to me and hugged me crying... I stayed silent as I looked at his head on my lap... I put my hand on his head and rubbed it a bit with a smile... papa was sobbing into me mumbling things how Iv been asleep for weeks, how he was scared I wouldn't wake up, scared I would leave him, how he wished he followed me... but I was to scared to speak.. so I couldn't really comfort him other hugging his head and shushing him as he cried.. papa Benn rushed in, he looked a bit in panic and relief to.. he sped over to the two of us and hugged me as-well. I was a bit shocked before I closed my eyes and decided to embrace this moment because after this... shit would go down... I just knew..

They let me go and started talk about the things I missed, I only did three main things- nod- laugh- and stay silent. After they had finished they finally noticed I wasn't talking much, "hey Lucia.. can u speak? Does ur throat hurt?" I shook my head I knew full well I could speak but I chose not to... I was to scared if I did they would hurt me... "kid we won't do anything to you... we love you to much to do that" I looked at papa they down to my hands with a whimper... I noticed the bandages on my body and looked down remembering blue jam, my breath started to speed up my eye sight was a bit blurry from my tears "Lucia? Kid!" I felt someone's arms wrap around me causing me to curl up and cover my head, the only thing that Iv said so far was "no." Over- and over again... "kid kid calm down calm down! Your ok your safe I have you.. your not there your safe there's no danger..." my breathing calmed a bit and I stopped chanting, my tears still blurred my vision. "Look at me kid look I'm not blue jam... your not in the gray terminal- it's me and shanks... your safe... don't worry.." I nodded and sniffed as I had calmed almost all the way down. I was still shaking and crying, I looked at papa who was the one hugging me making sure I was ok, he sighed and continued to hug me till I hugged back with a whimper.

I felt safe, I knew I was safe, but the flashbacks were crude- horrible- painful even! And my eye was throbbing in pain... sure it had healed mostly but it was still painful as shit! Papa had hugged me a bit tighter but not tight enough to hurt me, as if he making sure I was still there that I didn't slip away... there was a bigger weight felt on the other side of the bed, papa Benn was leaning on it. Before joining in the hug.

It had been a couple weeks now, I still haven't spoken yet but I did learn a bit of sign language.. we were docked at the village for a couple weeks now but papa didn't want to voyage out till I was better.. I would always tell him I was ok! And today he finally listened to me and we decided to set out on a voyage! I was pretty excited when he said we were going to go! I had been teaching everyone else sign language to so they could understand me! I told ace I would be leaving today and he agreed with me ok with it! So I ran off to go find papa! Turns out he was asleep in his room.. I went over to his desk and went to go hopefully find my secret project! I found it and pulled it out. It was a beautiful drawing of everyone in the high ranks on the ship along with my brothers! It had only been a couple days ago when sabo was caught dead... I'm still sensitive about it but I had to get through it... someday.. I started to draw and sketch the others out. Benn was there so was papa, Rou, yassop, kincade, and the many others! I heard papa shift around so I quickly put it all away and went over to him, papa hasn't been feeling good these past couple days... Benn says it's because of malnutrition? Whatever that means... I went to make sure he was ok.. he was still asleep but cold.. I decided to crawl up into his bed, get under the blanket, carefully wrap my wings around him, along with a hug, and sleep with him. I can't let him feel sick so I have to take care of him! It's my job! Benn said so! He shifted up me, not uncomfortably because as I looked up at him he had a smile on his face now not a small scowl... it made me feel important.. like I was needed, at peace? Dunno but I did close my eyes, laying on him was so calming and warm most of the time.. I decided it's best to sleep as my body heat is always warmer when I'm asleep so I'm told- so I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.

Shanks pov :D

I wasn't having the best time trying to sleep.. it was cold then to warm then to cold again! I really couldn't sleep! I heard Lucia walk in... so I kept silent- she took something out and sounded like she was drawing? I shifted uncomfortable and she stopped and quickly put it all away.. there was a hand on my arm and a suck of her teeth before she crawled under my covers and lay atop of me... it was warm now, a good warm. I fixed my position with a smile and she laid her head down, and with a sigh I think she went to sleep. It didn't take me long to follow in her steps and went to sleep as well..

When I woke I felt at the least better then before- I looked around and saw Lucia's drawing sitting on the desk... I noticed a couple faces were drawn... I heard the door open and quickly pretend I was asleep. A pad of feet walked over by my head, there was a small hand on my head before a huff and a hug... "I love you papa... get well soon!" She let me go and walked back over to the desk and there more scratching... she was back to drawing and I'm now going to be stuck here with my thoughts and her..

... I waited- and waited-... it's been about an hour of humming and giggles and constant check ups on me and I still never showed I was awake... listening to her happyness and her little hidden emotions... her- voice... it's been so long since she spoke... and I heard her for the first time speak in weeks! A-and it was for me? It was a whisper though... does it count? I'll let her win and say no- the song stopped and so did almost all movement... she stopped drawing- stopped humming- stopped kicking her feet... it was just silence... "Old man... I know your here... please don't hide from me the more u do the more you are an enemy.." there was a shuffle of feet before a sound of wind whooshed by, I peeked an eye open and saw captain... standing there... "how did u know..." there was a giggled with a flap of wings afterwards, "I learned a couple things or two from papa!" The loud footsteps walked over to me..., two fingers were placed on my fire head followed with a small hand, "he hasn't been well... The past couple of weeks he's been sick like this... getting worse everyday.. I'm scared like Benn told me he might not make it.. Heh.. if he was awake he would be telling me he won't leave me... that he would always be with me to protect me..."

There was a hum before the feeling of both small hand and two fingers were gone.. I decided now would be a good time to finally make it look like I woke up.. I carfully opened my eyes as I would usually waking up, I put a hand on my face with a yawn and shifted to my side placing my hand on the cold underside of my pillow, I looked at Lucia with a smile "heyyy kid.." she smiled and sat by me... she put her hand back on my forehead "your heating up... I should go get Kincade!" I grabbed her arm holding her down "I'll be cough fine kid... just.. stay here.. keep me company!" She sighed and nodded with a smile moving me to my back "nuuuuuu I wana lay on mah siiide" I whined, she gave me cold glare "I can't lay down and get comfy if ur on ur side.." she growled back at me.. I scooted back and patted in front of me giving her a stop to lay "here I wana hug u this time!" She chuckled to herself before sliding under the covers and faced away from me... her hands were crossed on her chest, I quickly wrapped my arms around her holding her close and tightly...

She purred under my hold and shifted a bit hiding her wings to get more comfortable, I pulled the covers over her shoulder she snuggled down more before flipping herself around and hugging me back, I rested my head on top of hers with a smile before squeezing her for a second makeing sure she was safe. It was my duty as her father to make sure she's safe under my protection, before I let her go I must show her and give her all the love and care she needs before I send her off to the real world...

Roger had left a while ago... leaving me and Benn to talk... it was nice to talk to him- even if Lucia was here asleep.. she had shifted around a couple times while asleep, it was fine everything was fine! That was until..

'BAM'

Something hit the ship.

I jolted up waking up Lucia, she had groaned and grumbled before flipping on her stomach trying to go back to sleep... I put a hand on her back and rubbed small circles keeping her asleep and calm.. I carefully got up with a cough of blood.. I brushed it off like nothing happened and continued on by grabbing my sword.. and walking out the door... but who was this? Not any pirate on the roster... they aren't a marine either- this person had bangs the color of my hair, the back of their hair was white, and their main hair color was black... their hair was short, curly, and floofed up- her bangs was a sideswept look that covered her injured eye. she wore a black crop top, gray baggy pants, it looked like she has animal ears and a tail- with a pair of flaming wings. Their eyes were different two.. one was a light reddish gray while the other was pure white with a large gash and burn scar on in.

They glared at me "Ah.. so your the man Im looking for... red hair..." I growled and grabbed my sword but by the time i unsheathed it she was already past me with a knife at my neck.. I could feel the anger in her aura, "fast one aren't ya.." I mumbled out, I put my sword back and raised my hands showing I'd wouldn't do anything.. with a blink of an eye we were up higher, I saw Benn run out of my room and stand I front of the door, once he saw me he panicked and moved "OI! DONT MOVE SMOKEY BOY! IF U YOU DO-" the second Lucia stepped out of the cabin there was a gun. Not one but two pointed at her head.. "move and I'll slit this man's throat and have them shoot that kid!" Everyone was still.. not a single muscle was moved... the air was so thick u could probably cut it with a knife!

The sound of shouts could be heard off in the distance.. I glanced over and saw ace and sabo running not in defense either they looked- happy? "OOIIIII CRAZY LADYYYYY!!" The woman didn't move but she did move her head in the direction I was looking.. "eh? Those two are still here eh? Well might as well give 'em a run for their money! HEY KIDDOS! FOUND A RUDE PIRATE HERE WHAT DO I DO WITH EM?!" They ran up to the ship in-front of me... they stared at me before giggling "leave em! Their fiiiine they haven't destroyed anything anyways!" She released me dropping me down, she called The two men holding Lucia at him point off. I quickly ran and grabbed her holding in close in defense.. Benn practically ran to me and stood in defense as well.. the rest of the crew kept looking at me and then the lady..

Those two kids were talking freely with the new pirate.. as if they met before.. she looked at me with a bit of curiosity before teleporting in-front of me. She kept teleporting all around me scanning me in a way? "Hmm... something seems... familiar about you... something similar between me and you- besides the hair-." I shifted back away from her. She had grabbed me causing me to drop Lucia "AH! SHIT!!" Benn thankfully caught her- god I had a heart attack.. the lady flew me up a bit "Hm.. you have wings... their supposed to be natural- oh whatever- you seem similar enough- OI WHATS HIS NAME AGAIN!?" She called down to a crew mate, "HIS NAME IS SHANKS NO LAST NAME!" She growled lightly "I knew there was something familiar about you.." she dropped me "AAAAAH SHÏT SHÏT SHÏT" I quickly in a panic used my wings to land safely. Lucia ran to me and hugged my torso.. I held my hand at her back before bending down and hugging her properly. She let me go and signed something to me- it wasn't all that hard to understand-. It went something along the lines of- 'you shouldn't be out here papa you still haven't fully recovered!' I only smiled "I'll be fine kiddo I'll be- cough cough - ugh- fine..." I had ended up coughing some blood up in my hand..

I looked back to Lucia who looked mortified. I forgot she hasn't seen this stage of it yet.. I wiped it away with a sigh... she quickly hugged me again with a whimper.. I only felt bad so I picked her up and held her in a hug. "Jesus kid... I get it ur scared an all but ur still more clingy than I would expect-." She (obviously) didn't answer me instead she only cried, I sent a glare at the pirate lady before turning my attention back to Lucia.. I started to rub her back a bit seeing if it'll calm her down.. Ace walked over to me before he looked at me with a peircing glare, "oi don't look at me like that kid- I'm trying here! It's not easy being a father you'll understand when you grow up!" He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes before walking away.. there was a snap of fingers and a laugh "I figured it out! Your my brother! The two of us came from a D.! And we both were in a chest from the valley! We just got separated! I came from a family named the loves! You didn't get a family you got pirates!" She only confused me more than I usually am...

"What? I'm sorry ur confusing me with someone else-."

"No no! I'm serious! I remember now! Our father was rocks D zebec. And our mother was love D rosella! The older sister of what was his name again? Oh yea! Monkey D dragon! Be lucky the creator isn't here is she was she wouldn't be to happy with me telling you this-."

"Wha- so I'm a natural D?"

"Mhm! Your wings didn't come in because u needed to earn them! My wings came in!" I slowly started to understand what she was saying. Lucia shifted on me with a whimper. "Ah- almost forgot I had you kiddo-." It made her laugh a little bit, she lifted her head and wiped her tears before continuing to hug me, I decided that talking to the lady wasn't to bad- she seemed ok- "well.. what's your name? Supposed sister-."

"Hm? Oh! My name is Zane! Yea- not a good name for a girl- but they also kinda wished they ended up with you and not me.. Heh.. I was more hated than loved the way I grew up.."

"Ah... I was given attention and well affection growing up with roger.. which reminds me we gotta leave soon for his execution..." she nodded and pursed her lips before smiling getting an idea!

"Hey! I know! We can sail along side eachother! I am the strongest woman in the world after all!"

"Hah! Says you-."

"Wana go pretty boy?!"

"I would if u wasn't holding Lucia rn... I also probably shouldn't fight anyways- I don't need to give my child a heart attack-." We laughed and talked all the while Lucia went to sleep in my hold of safety.. ace and sabo had left the ship a while ago I assume as they weren't here anymore- eventually she went from my ship to hers a couple times in search for some things. Eventually she had stopped talkin and tapped something next to her ear and was talkin to someone? The conversation went exactly like this.

"Boss we need you over at the island"

"I'm busy man- I just found my brother!"

"Yea yea good for you! We got Blackbeard over here though!"

"DONT show any fear and use what I gave you all and use them properly and you will be fine ITLL scare him off.. and if I was there he wouldn't wana fight so u guys wouldn't get experience!"

"Fine fine- whose ur brother anyways?"

'Casual sounds of a battle goin on'

"Oh it's akagami! He didn't even know he was a natural D!"

"Damn that's sad- AH SHIT WE'VE BEEN HUT FROM BEHIND! THEIR TAKING THE ADVANTAGE U NEVER TAUGHT US ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!?"

" suffer? Actually you know what fine I'll teleport to you all.. they do know they waged war on us though..."

" I HOPE"

She had disappeared from where she was in the snap of her fingers.. I had almost forgotten I was sitting on her ship still holding a sleeping Lucia.. I stood up and decided putting her to sleep in my bed would be smart to.. I walked off her ship and started my way to my own.. but by the time I got onto mine Lucia woke up she was mumbling something... I ignored her and let her be and walked into my room.. I placed her on my bed and hid her under the covers. "I know you insist on my staying to rest but I still gotta captain everyone so we can get going kid.." she shifted a bit under the blanket before grabbing my hand and hugging it. I smiled softly at this motion before pulling away and bending down kissing her lightly on the forehead "sleep well kiddo.."
