Chapter 7
Riku was in his room in the dormitory. He was organizing his lifts and weight set for working out, putting them in numerical order. Sora then walked in without knocking, startling Riku.
"What?! Sora!" he cried.
"You know something." said Sora, almost accusingly.
"What?" asked Riku.
"Don't play dumb. You know about Namine. Xehanort just told me to stay away from you. Why is that? Did you say something to him? I know that guy is keeping things from a lot of people. I could tell with Vanitas that he's not comfortable around him." said Sora.
"I don't know what you're talking about! If Xehanort said something, it was probably because I was…. I was writing graffiti in the bathroom. Yeah, that was it." said Riku.
"You? Writing graffiti in the bathroom? Really? You?" asked Sora. He didn't believe it one bit.
"Believe me. It was a dare. I was part of a bet between Tidus and Wakka." said Riku.
"Oh sure, like Tidus and Wakka would be interested in writing potty jokes. Those two are busy with their Blitzball game twenty four seven." said Sora.
"Then you don't know them as well." said Riku with a shrug.
"Like I don't know you?" asked Sora.
"Sora, buddy. I honestly don't know what you are talking about." said Riku.
"Riku, did Kairi fill you in?" asked Sora, deciding to change the subject and see if he could get anything out.
"About what?" asked Riku.
Sora then briefly told him about his nightmares and the book and of course the search for Namine. And he even told him about what Xehanort told him. He did leave the part where Vanitas warned him not to talk to Riku. He didn't want to put his brother in hot water.
"I swear to you. I know nothing about any of this. Kairi didn't tell me." said Riku.
"Look, have you seen Roxas. I haven't seen him in a while." said Sora.
"I saw him walking back to your room." said Riku.
"Okay. Well… now you know about what's going on. Just that, it's frustrating. You know. I don't know why there are so many things popping up and then when I seem to get to the answer, I get excited and…. Forget it." said Sora.
"You've been having some weird thoughts lately." said Riku.
Sora then opened his eyes wide, and he quickly shut the door and locked it. Riku jumped as Sora ran up to him, face to face.
"Say that again! Repeat it!" he demanded.
"What?" asked Riku.
"What you just said!" cried Sora.
"Uh.. you've been having weird thoughts lately?" he said.
"That! That sentence! Where have you heard it!" cried Sora, waving his arms around in excitement.
"I just said it! It came to mind!" replied Riku.
"I know that sentence! I know it! It's familiar! I know it! I know it!" cried Sora.
"Sora, you're scaring me. You need some sleep. You don't look well. You can use my bed if you want. Seriously, you need it." said Riku.
"Sleep? At a time like this?! What if I get a nightmare!" cried Sora.
"Perhaps it will lead you closer to the truth!" cried Riku.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked dumbfounded.
"Perhaps you're right. I've been keeping things from you." said Riku.
"Then you DO know things!" cried Sora.
Riku sighed. "Sora, you need to sleep. Once you wake up and you've been rested, I'll fill you in on a few things that I know. I'm sorry it had to come to this." said Riku. He then knocked Sora out with a bonk on the head.
…
Jim Hawkins ran after his Dad, screaming for him to return home. His Dad never looked back. He kept walking up the boat, coldly leaving him behind. Jim cried and cried, but it was no use. His father left him and his mother to fend for themselves.
Mowgli comes face to face with Shere Khan. "Why should I be afraid of you?" asked Mowgli angrily.
"My dear boy. Don't you know who I am?" asked Shere Khan.
"I do. You're Shere Khan." said Mowgli.
"Quite right. You're really clever. Like a sporting champ…" Shere Khan was saying as he got his claws out and ready for the kill. He turned to Mowgli with his eyes glowing.
"I'm going to count to ten. You must run and hide." he said.
"I'm not afraid of you." said Mowgli.
"And it comes with a heavy heart that the Muppet Theater must be closed." said Kermit the Frog sadly.
"You can't do this to us! This is our job! Our home!" cried Fozzy.
"It's not fair man!" cried Dr. Teeth.
"Kermie, please don't tell us this. It hurts." cried Miss Piggy, putting her arms around Robin, who was crying.
"The show isn't selling like it used to. We have to close the theater. I'm sorry everyone." said Kermit.
"How could you!" cried Gonzo.
Uncle Remus was running for his life. He was running so fast, his legs were hurting him. Brer Rabbit was by his side.
"Uncle! Don't stop! They are coming to skin us alive!" cried Brer Rabbit.
"I can't go on. You must continue." said Uncle Remus.
"What?! I can't!" cried Brer Rabbit.
"Listen to me! In this world, I will die. I will die at the hands of the people who hate me for my skin color. But I know I will be in a safe place, even after death. I will sleep." said Uncle Remus.
"Don't you dare talk like that you old fool! You can't talk like that! I won't allow it!" cried Brer Rabbit.
"You on other hand have to run! Go! Go back to Splash Mountain and save everyone!" cried Uncle Remus.
"B-but… how are you going too…" Brer Rabbit was beginning to say.
"Light. Remember my dear rabbit. Even in the deepest darkness, there always be a light that will never go out. Our friends are our power." he said with a gleam in his eye. And then, as if by some miracle, light appeared. It surrounded Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit and it pushed their attackers away.
"You see? Light prevails." said Uncle Remus with pride as they are surrounded by clouds as far as the eye could see.
And that was where Sora was. In a world of orange clouds. He walked around the area and noticed something funny and odd in the distance. He spotted what appeared to be some sort of weathervane as tall as the eye could see. Sora couldn't see end of the weathervane, but he did see the top. And there, playing with the arrows of the metallic rooster was a little mouse. A mouse wearing a blue hat with a red suit on. His fur was brown and he looked like he was having fun, playing on top of the arrows. And then, as the sky opened, powerful angels appeared, singing beautiful songs of light, friendship and love.
