The class has finished their lessons, break time was about to begin. And Juban High School is preparing for the school festival. Banners were hung, stands and kiosks were set up, and the students were dressed in different cultural manners. Many voices were expelling out from the entire classes. Most of which is about the visitors in the school. A boy with goofy glasses blabbered out a conversation, "So, what do you think of the new guys in town?" By his side, a wavy, brown-red haired girl contemplated, "Hmmm... Well, Umino. I think they're pretty nice. That tall guy...Tommy, was it? Our hairs look kind of alike." From hearing her thoughts, Umino sparked a feeling of jealousy. "Whaaat? Naru-san! Should I make my hair wavy just like yours?" he pouted. Knowing he tried his best to impress her, Naru gave a bright giggle and pat Umino's head. "It's ok, Umino. I'm just saying it's a coincidence. I appreciate the thought, though."
Usagi and her friends share their minds on the guests as well. "I wonder what I can find out more about Billy Cranston... he just comes off as the kind of boy who always study hard, he must be exceptionally talented..." Ami mumbled. Minako can't help but tease her about her interest. "Ooooooh... do you think Billy is your ideal type~?" Ami perishes the image, "I-it's not like that. He probably scores his tests a lot higher than I do. It.. it invigorates me! I must be at my all if I want to catch up to him! I've found my rival!" she declared. Her three friends faceplanted from the sheer denial. "Oh, it's impossible..." wailed Minako. "That Jason guy seemed like an outgoing person. What would he think of me...?" pondered Makoto. "I'm sure he's as nice as he looks." Usagi encouraged. "Well, for me, I'm real pumped on getting to be Kimberly's best friend! We are going to have so much fun shopping and eating yummy treats together!" she cheered. Minako agreed with Usagi as the two clasped hands with each other. "Yeah! Me too! She must be so much like us!" she delighted. "Although, I really want the chance to talk to Tommy, too. Aaaw, I can't decide...!" blurted the flustering Minako. The schoolgirls' playful gossip lingers throughout the school day. Oblivious to them, just outside of the building... a huge floating eyeball with wings circle the area above, seemingly spying on the young ladies.
The hours flew by, and afternoon begins to settle. The festival was all ready. A momentous gathering where various schools come to meet and convey numerous achievements. Many stands share something diverse to offer. A small café, a haunted attraction, or a music concert. The whole campus is crowded with many students taking their time to try out these activities. Among them, of course, are the foreign students and teachers of Angel Grove. "Take a look, students." Mr. Caplan directed. "Juban High School is currently holding a traditional event known as the School Cultural Festival. The scholars here have set up a unique variety of clubs and hobbies they prepared. Over there, you can see a group club teaching martial arts." he then points to a makeshift arena where two boys are locked in a Judo match, which Jason and Tommy compared to their times of sparring. "It's just like back in our school. Right, Jason?" Tommy asked. "Yeah, it really does." Jason answered thoughtfully. "Though, I've never seen those styles before. I would like to learn them." Mr. Caplan continued on, "And just ahead is the art gallery. Impressive paintings and drawings are on display for others to behold." As Kimberly takes a glimpse at one of exhibits, she was interrupted by two punkish-looking delinquents gawking at the whole festival. "Ugh. This place is such a major snore." The chubby boy whined. "Yeah. Where are the cool robots and monsters?" replied the scruffy schooler. A brief exhale of annoyance expels out of Kimberly. "Be serious, you two. You're not gonna find any of that here." The two ruffians persist on their mockery. "Oh, we'll show you how wrong you are, Kim. There's gonna lots of them out of there. Skull and I are gonna be the first ones to get a good close-up shot of it!" Skull foolishly agreed, "You said it, Bulk! It's gonna be selling like hotcakes!" The mischievous duo skipped and wooed away, reveling in their pipe dream. Kimberly and her group shook their heads, "Typical, aren't they?" Trini peeved. Zack expresses the same feeling with a single phrase. "Preach."
As the group continued on, they each take notice of other communities amidst the fair. Ahead of them, they notice two girls running to them waving. "Hi!" the girls yelled. "Hey there. Hello." The guests responded. "How are you guys enjoying the festival? My name's Usagi Tsukino. It's very nice to meet you." Usagi greeted. "I'm Minako Aino. Do you like us to show you around the place?" Minako added. The guests turn to their teacher for approval. "Would that be okay with you, Mr. Caplan?" Jason requested. To which Mr. Caplan consented. "They'd be happy too. You all go on ahead. I need to make sure those two don't get into any more trouble." He jogs off to chase after Bulk and Skull, leaving them to be accompanied by Usagi and Minako. The the two girls guided them to the next event. "This is the computer club." said Minako. "Here, we have one of our friends currently in this group. Ami!" Their friend, Ami, comes along to advise the visitors about this hobby. She had hoped she would run into Billy at any moment, and it seems like it was lucky timing on her part. "Hello there." Ami welcomed. "Here, we do various conventional stuff such as online learning, coding, and testing out new applications." A look of intrigue sprung within Billy. "Incredible. That could certainly be an asset to improve on my studies by a whole lot. Would you mind showing me the steps?" Ami smiled brightly. "Sure!" The pair of geniuses engage in complex techno babble, much to the exasperation of Usagi and Minako. "There she goes again..." Usagi sulked. "Oh, we don't mind. We're used to it." Trini remarked. After a spare minutes, Ami concluded her club tutoring with Billy. "And that about covers everything we've run through." she rounded off. "I must say, that was pretty advisable of you to share your experience on the one-one-one study sessions. Sounds like it would certainly help. I never really had anyone to compare notes with before." commented Billy. Ami returned the gesture. "Well, I'm glad I could help out. I hope what you've picked up here would be a great contribution to your future quizzes." The rest of the students were peering from a distance. "Wow. Surprised they're getting along so quick." said Tommy. "Well, this isn't the first time seeing him like this for us." Kimberly replied. Minako makes a slight verbal nudge with Kimberly, "You know, I expected Ami to be more nervous upon meeting your friend. But I guess eggheads have their own ways, am I right?" she joked. Kimberly couldn't help but went along with her slight teasing. "Yeah, it certainly looks that way."
Usagi began to chime in. "Well, since she's already this used to Billy now, let's have her stick around with us for the rest of the festival!" To which the girls proceeded to approach Ami and tug her arm, prompting her to join with them. "Ami! How about it? Wanna see the rest of the fair with us?" Usagi piqued. "Um... well, I guess it wouldn't hurt." Ami responded humbly. With an added colleague, the schoolgirls lead the guests to an adjacent guild. The room is brimming with various flowers and plants the members have respectively grown. "And this here is the gardening club." Usagi proclaimed. "Our friend, Makoto, is a natural gardener. She had lots of flowers growing back in her home!" The club member Makoto comes to greet the foreign students. "Hi guys! We were just about to water the Hibiscus flowers. These little bundles need to be watered thoroughly every couple of days for the first few weeks after planting." she explained. Kimberly takes a delighted look at the Hibiscus, in which she wants to give out her advice about them. "They look real pretty. I know of way to groom them even better. If you can place them in a minimum temperature of 7-10 degrees Celsius and a high humidity, the petals can broaden their color a lot more." Makoto was surprised that Kimberly shares the same sense of floral knowledge, thus she makes a slight response on the topic they have in common. "Wow! That's impressive! If you'd like, you can take some of these with you so that you can grow them back in your home!" To which Kimberly happily accepts the offer. "I'd love to! You know, I once designed a float of flowers for our school parade. Would you like me to make a stand or a perch for you to decorate?" With a suggestion like that, Makoto couldn't pass up on the opportunity. "That would be wonderful! I was thinking of something to hang my Kosai roses on my front door." The two ladies share an ecstatic laugh together, commemorating their first friendship. "What do you think, guys? Wanna help out with the building?" Kimberly asked her friends. The rest of the group offered a helping hand with the plants and gathering the necessary materials to craft a decorative frame for the flowers. The result was much to Makoto's astonishment. An adjustable stand harboring 3 platforms and 2 arm hangers for pots. "This looks incredible! Thank You so much!" she appreciated. "Don't mention it. It's the least we could do for our trip here." Jason replied. His generous expression greatly enticed the young florist.
Following this exchange, Usagi and Minako prompted Makoto to come along. Makoto shuddered her head to clear off her adoration of Jason. "Oh! Sure thing! I was just about to meet up with our friend somewhere around here." The next section they visited is a shrine session. People were in long silken robes and are practicing prayers. The person who conducts these lessons appears to be a long black haired schoolgirl with a refined mannerism. "Rei-chan! I'm surprised to see you here!" Usagi exclaimed to her. "Girls! It's been a while!" she remarked. "Our private school is granted the offer to take part in the festival today. So I had hoped I would run into you all." Rei then takes notice of the unknown group of students behind her friends. "Oh! Who are these people?" she asked. "Ah! These are our guests from a high school in America. They're here on a field trip for a few weeks. This is Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini and Tommy." said Usagi. The foreign students gave a bow to the young maiden. "We're very honored to meet you." Trini spoke. Rei returned the gesture. "Likewise. This here is a place of worship and rituals for those who are gifted in spirituality." she explained. "How fascinating. This isn't like any other altars I've known about. Would you mind telling me how it's done?" Trini requested. "Certainly. We specialize in fortune telling and dispelling any supernatural disturbances. I've worked as a priestess in the Hikawa Shrine for quite some time, so it's been quite a trip for me." Rei chuckled. Trini felt a great admiration for the new religious discovery shown from Rei. The two shared a brief moment of sacred texts and recitals, which Minako slowly dozes off from. "Rei-chan is just wallowing in this moment isn't she? Did you know she wakes up at 4:00 AM all the time?" she mutters to Kimberly. "No way! Really? How could anyone be that early in the morning?" Kimberly retorted. "And that's not even half of it. The most lucky thing about her is that she has no exams at all!" Minako fumed. "I'm so jealous right now. Probably that private school she's talking about must've had quite the perks." Kimberly poked loosely.
Atop the festival, the floating eyeball warps away and back into the dark fortress of Rita Repulsa, with Zirconia gathering much information of it as possible. "At last, I've found them." she exclaimed. "What? Are you certain?" Rita urged. Zirconia presented the eyeball showing a vivid image of five young girls in the festival. But a look of confusion expelled on Rita about this unveiling. "Who are these ladies? I've never seen them before." Zirconia was taken aback by the statement. "What? You mean that these girls are not ones you want?" Rita reaffirmed, "Of course not! What do they have to do with my plans for conquest? Such an offset hindrance does not concern-" She then stopped short when the eyeball showed something else that she may take great pleasure in. Accompanied by the girls are six casual dressed teenagers that seemed familiar. "Wait! That's them! Those are the ones!" she hollered. It was Zirconia's turn to be perplexed. "Them? Why them? What's so special about these kids?" The evil empress hurries to one of her monster minions for further orders. "Finster! I need you to forge a monster for me!" The compliant and elder monster Finster spoke up. "Of course, my queen. I have forged a one of kind that is ready for the field. An effective muscular figure with an ancient Kabuki mask that will give quite an intimidation." The sheer description of the monster quickly thrills the evil queen. "Excellent. That will do just fine! I shall send it down to Earth in order to cause mayhem on where they are now!" Out of the loop, Zirconia wasn't taking the proposition too well. "What is the meaning of this? My target is those guardians I have shown you. What is the reason you are fixated on those young pests?" Rita scoffs back. "I have a long awaited score to settle with them! Save your concerns with those girls later! At last, my moment has arrived!" she began casting an incantation to transport the monster onto the blue planet...
