A/N: Sooooo this is just a teaser for now. I've honestly wanted to write a supernatural story for FOREVER and this story has something I really love so be gentle.
That being said I kinda made a site that has characters and people who I see playing them! I plan to only update this story bi weekly because THERE'S A LOT going on in it! the link will be at the end of the chapter. I kinda wanted to create an experience!
He was handsome. That was all she could think as she watched him walk by with what looked like a giant wolf trotting alongside him, sure she was three sheets to the wind but she saw him... or at least she was going to allow herself to believe.
She shouldn't have been there in the first place but she was and she'd taken her father's last bottle a scotch for another one of her nightly walks. That had always been a problem of hers, she couldn't sleep well not at night. She recently added the drinking aspect to it but hey it aided in getting her rest so whatever.
It was a brisk midnight, the moon was high and the water she currently sat in front of looked like an endless pool of blues and whites, she could see the stars twinkling and dancing as the water moved ever so slowly. She secretly she'd wished she'd brought a blanket to keep her warm but the scotch was warming her up nicely.
She looked over her shoulder and made eye contact with the guy she saw before, his eyes were green very green and his hair was a dirty blonde shade. She looked down and noticed the dog was no longer with him, not that she was entirely sure there was one with him before but she didn't linger on it too long.
He just kept looking at her, his eyes piercing her making her warmer than the scotch. She wanted to say something but her words were caught in her throat which was an actual first for her considering all she ever did was talk.
"You should not be here." She heard him say and her reaction to his voice was new for her, she shifted on the log she was sitting on before taking a shot from the bottle.
"And why is that?" She asked finally getting her words together.
"Go home." Was his reply and she felt herself grow slightly intrigued by his commanding words.
"Or?" She countered smirking before it fell when another man appeared and he looked very much menacing.
"Maybe I should leave." Mercedes offered more to herself than to the mysterious man.
"Well, well who do we have here? You brought a snack?" The second man said, his voice made her skin crawl and bile began to form. She tried to stand but was far to unbalanced and stumbled slightly.
"I see you picked a nice... loose one at that." The man said moving closer only stopping when the blonde shot him a look that made Mercedes fear for what he might do.
"Don't you dare go near her." He said in a challenging tone only to earn a smirk from the man.
"No I think I will, she looks absolutely ravishing." The man replied moving forward and Mercedes suddenly felt like she was standing in quick sand, unable to move and sinking fast.
The blonde looked at her then the man before he quickly closed the gap between them all and moved directly in front of Mercedes. She knew she was short but standing behind him she felt incredibly small. She could see his muscles straining through his back and the slight outline of his chiseled jaw that was clenched tightly. She could also smell his subtle scent of sweet brandy and musk, it made her want to lean in a smell him but now probably wasn't the best time for that considering she was probably in danger.
She looked over at the other man and realized he towered over the one standing in front of her, his hair was dark brown and had dark eyes but he wasn't as built as the blonde. That dark look on his face helped with the current flow of fear rushing throughout her body. The way his eyes roved over her body made her wish she'd listened to the blonde when he told her to go home.
Damn scotch. She thought to herself before gasping when she felt his hand wrap around her as he moved her aside. His hand burned through the fabric of her shirt, she felt tingles run through her and her breathing increased when she heard it.
"When I move forward, run left."
He hadn't said it aloud, she was sure of it. She heard his voice in her head and though she should be freaking out by this it was oddly satisfying how soothing and calm his voice was.
Stop thinking about my voice and do as I said.
Mercedes could help but giggle because clearly he could hear her thoughts so her gushing over the sexiness of his voice probably wasn't helping in that moment.
"Now!" He shouted and she ran blindly in the direction he told her not looking back and not dropping the bottle in her hand. She could hear her heart pounding, leaves crunching and the slouching of the liquid in the glass bottle as she ran.
She could also hear what sounded like Thor and Iron Man fighting behind her, loud thuds and even louder growls seemed to follow her but never got to close. She kept running until she felt lost and stopped to gather herself. She looked around never being this deep into the woods before, allowing herself to catch her breath in the process.
"Go left." She heard and figured she should listen.
She took a deep breath and headed left and kept going until she saw a clearing up ahead. She started to run again getting a feeling she was being followed and ran straight into the walk way that lead to a very beautiful home.
She shook her head and started to back away before hearing a huff behind her making her stop. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she was too afraid to turn around.
"He won't bite, just go inside and don't come out." She heard and this time decided to try to communicate.
"You expect me to go into a random house in the woods?"
"Yes, now did it!" He replied and she could tell he was out of breath. She rolled her eyes and walked towards the house and surprisingly enough the door opened.
"Damn human." She heard seeing a beautiful woman standing there before being pulled inside.
"She's safe, you can stop playing now." The woman said to no one before shooting Mercedes a look then rolling her eyes as she snatched away the bottle in her hand.
"This could've gotten you hurt!" She said tossing it into the fire.
"Hey!" Mercedes said before feeling a quick but swift prick to her shoulder then blackness.
...
She was always a little too curious, that child of James Jones. Sweet as can be but had a mouth on her that wouldn't stop. When she was born her mother took one look at her and fell madly in love with the little doe eyed beauty. So much so that she refused to have another, stating "she was going to be a handful I can tell." James wished he understood what she meant then because he wouldn't have spoiled her the way he had.
She had him wrapped the second she batted her eyes at him and said da-da. James knew better than to let her walk around at night but this was the first time she hadn't come back. She was gone for two days and he was getting worried, well that was until she received a message telling him where to find her. It was a very detailed message and he was instructed to come alone and that she wasn't in any harm.
Not that she could be harmed but she didn't know that yet. He should've had that talk with her years ago and he knew now was the time simply because she'd wandered too far this time. He'd promised to keep their secret for as long as he could but his daughter's inability to sleep at night had always plagued her.
"Damn it girl why couldn't you just read like normal people with insomnia?" James questioned as he made the trek to the house in the woods. He sighed when he approached only knocking once like instructed before hearing the creek of the door and being stared at with stormy green eyes.
"I'm here for my daughter." He said looking back at the man.
"You really need to keep an eye on her." The man stated before moving aside and allowing him entrance.
"Easier said than done." James muttered before seeing Mercedes laying on the sofa sleeping.
"She's fine and she won't remember. She'll have a headache for a few days though, it was hard getting her down." The man said walking over to her looking at her.
"Thank you, I got her from here." James said moving to pick her up but stopped when the man did it instead.
"I'll help." He said with a curt smile and James just nodded before leading him outside to his waiting truck. He opened the passenger side and allowed the stranger to place Mercedes in the seat, he noticed him linger a little before stepping away shooting him a nod then walking away.
"Why'd you keep her here?" James asked making the man stopped.
"She was in danger. She doesn't need to be drinking alone." He answered then walked inside the house.
...
Sam was angry, he was always angry but he was especially angry in this moment. A young woman had lingered too far and he had to fight someone he'd been avoiding for years. He knew it wouldn't take long for news to get out about the brawl and everyone would want to know about the young woman that forced him to react the way he did.
He had a lot of pressure on him as is but this news was going to make it worse. Samuel Evans fighting to protect a woman, completely unheard of especially since he was an unmated Alpha. An Alpha of one of the largest packs in the mid-west, he hadn't so much as shown interest in the countless women in his pack but a single woman sitting alone he chose to fight over. A human. A beautiful human with the brownest eyes he'd ever seen, so brown they were almost golden honey.
His parents wouldn't be pleased, he'd not only wrecked half of the forest he'd also allowed the woman inside his mind. He was sure she wouldn't remember because his beta Santana wiped her mind but a piece of him wished she would remember.
He'd also allowed her into the pack house, he'd allowed her to stay there well that's an understatement she couldn't leave. She was too drunk to function and talked entirely too much for his thin patience which is why he was pissed.
She talked his damn head off for hours before finally succumbing to the effects of the alcohol she'd been drinking. She asked a million questions and would only accept full responses from him but that wasn't the real reason he was pissed, the real reason was because he had so willingly given her the answers without hesitation.
Flash back
"Where am I? Who are you? Why is that dog so big? What is this place?"
"You're safe, that's all you need to know for now." Sam answered from behind her and she turned narrowing her eyes at him.
"I heard you in my head but you're not in it anymore." Mercedes slurred while tapping her temple.
"You need to sit down."
"Hey, hey! Get your hands off! Who are you? And who is she! And why is that dog so damn big!"
"Feisty little things ain't she?" Santana said with a smirk. "Want me to take care of her?"
"Take care of me? Like... like swimming with the fishes?"
End Flashback
"You really fucked up, you know that right?" Santana said to Sam after he returned. She was the first ever female beta and if she had tried she'd probably be the first female Alpha, a roll she humbly declined because she didn't want the weight of the world on her shoulders. She and Sam had grown up together and always knew one day it would be them leading their pack.
When he chose her has his beta he'd broken a very long line of tradition having the next would be Alpha as the beta. He needed someone he could trust to not try to kill him every chance they had. Which is why he hadn't chosen Finn.
Finn used to be their friend, hell he was like a brother once upon a time but when the summoning happened he darkened. He started fighting and attacking any other male wolf he could to prove his dominance and he lost when he challenged Sam.
Sam didn't want to fight him but it was fight or be fought. His family had a proud history in the pack and Sam upheld their standing when he beat and forced Finn to submit. That was when he truly turned, there was a name for it when a wolf went dark. They called it the coating, it only happened when there was already darkness inside the heart lying dormant.
Finn was always gentle and kind but when the summon happened everything changed, not just with him but with several of them. Santana's rage finally leveled out and gladly accepted her new life among the pack.
Sam was the only one who hadn't changed significantly. He was still tall and built, he enjoyed comics and drawing. The only thing that had changed was his title and his tolerance. His father Dwight was the Alpha before stepping aside for Sam to lead and his mother was Luna. A position Sam would have to fill when he met his mate, something that happened when you hit a certain age but for Sam it hadn't happened.
A lot of people would assume it's because he didn't show interest in any of the women in the pack which he didn't. Aside from the commanding presence he still was rather shy but he couldn't let the entire pack know that.
Sam needed to call a meeting because as much as he'd like to dwell on what happened over the past few hours there was another threat that needed tending.
"Yeah, I know. Can you call the council? There's a rogue wolf marking this area and I don't think it intends on stopping until we go find it." Sam said to Santana who just nodded before going off to do as asked.
Sooooo? Are we feeling it? Again be gentle, I already have a lot written and will be adding sub chapters to explain breakdowns and characters!
