Chapter 35

Kairi didn't take her eyes off the other side of the volcanic hills in Mustafar. She knew that beyond those hills was the castle of Darth Vader. She gritted her teeth and went over to Donald. She whispered into his ear and Donald's eyes widened. Sora observed them silently. He knew something was not right with Kairi the moment they arrived on Mustafar. He's been friend with her for so long, he knew her almost like the back of his hand.

He saw Donald nod and he and Kairi silently slipped away from the group. Goofy, Sylvia, Riku, Max and Vanitas were in the repair shop, waiting for some droids to fix the truck. He quickly went to them and told them he was going for a walk. They nodded, but Vanitas went with him.

"Vanitas, Kairi left with Donald. They are going that way. Let's follow them." said Sora.

"Why did they leave?" asked Vanitas.

"I don't know. But there's something about Mustafar that had Kairi nervous. I need to follow her." said Sora.

Vanitas nodded. I'll go with you. Let's go." said Vanitas.

"I'm coming with you guys." said Riku. He was coming up to them.

"Don't get in our way." said Vanitas with a scowl.

"Please dude. You should not get in my way." said Riku.

"Let's go guys." said Sora urgently. The three of them followed quickly while Goofy watched from afar.

"I'll follow them. Donald is gone too." said Goofy.

"Be careful. I don't really like this place much." said Sylvia.

"Dad, are you sure?" asked Max.

"I think I can handle this place." said Goofy cheerfully.

"Okay, if you say so." said Max unsure.

Kairi got her lightsaber ready. She ignited it the moment she stepped into Darth Vader's castle.

"Be careful Kairi. You don't have that man's powers. He uses something called the Force. You could be in trouble." said Donald.

"I know. But he does not scare me." said Kairi.

"You want me to stay here?" asked Donald.

"Yes. This is something I need to do." said Kairi.

"As you wish." said Donald.

Kairi ran up the stairs and entered the grand throne room. Sitting there, on his magnificent black throne was Darth Vader himself, breathing.

"You look like your father. He was a good man. Pity that he rejected my offer." said Darth Vader.

"You do not speak of him!" cried Kairi angrily, pointing her lightsaber at Vader.

"A powerful Sith your father was. Palpatine wanted to use him for greater purposes. After I beheaded Palpatine and offered your father a seat on the throne, he spat at my face." said Vader.

"My father may have been like you. But he had morals. He loved people and he loved the world we all live in. He protected me and my mother from you. You will pay for what you did to him!" cried Kairi.

Vader folded his arms. "You don't know don't you?" he said.

"What?" asked Kairi.

Vader shook his head and paced around in the room. "You never knew the truth of what happened to your father. This is such a shame. Believe it or not my pet, it pains me to tell you this." said Vader.

"You killed him!" cried Kairi.

"I never laid a finger on your father, nor did I use the Force to do away with him. I sensed his presence here in Mustafar. I looked for him. And finally, I found him. He was hanging on a rope around his neck. He took his own life." said Vader.

Kairi dropped her lightsaber. "No." she said.

"It is the truth. I then buried your father after that. You don't believe me? I have decade old recordings here on Mustafar. I can show you proof." said Vader.

"You're lying!" cried Kairi.

Vader pressed a button near his throne and a hologram appeared. It showed Kairi's father, putting a noose around his neck.

Kairi screamed and fell on her knees. Vader then stopped the hologram and made it disappear.
"You see? Your father died by his own hand. You may not have known, but he had a powerful negativity in his heart. And he made the selfish choice of killing himself." said Vader.

"Wrong!" cried a voice. A soft, yet strong voice that made Kairi turn around. Entering the throne room, with no weapon at all, was Sora.

He put himself in front of Kairi and turned to the dark lord.

"Who are you?" asked Vader.

"Kairi's father didn't make a selfish choice. He killed himself because he didn't have help. He didn't have anybody that could have given him what he needed. Don't you dare say a terrible thing to Kairi!" cried Sora.

Entering the room, standing beside Kairi was Donald, Goofy, Vanitas, Riku and finally Sylvia and Max. They all stood by Kairi's side.

Darth Vader looked at everyone and shook his head.

"You do not have the Force. Yet you all come before me to challenge me. I will not fight fools that have no power." Vader then pressed a button on his throne and a door opened.

"This passageway will lead you to Sark's command center. He has a man named Bruno and Marvin the Martian in prison." said Vader.

"Sark?" asked Donald.

"Uh oh." said Goofy.

"There are things you fools should know about. In a couple of minutes, I will face a grand enemy here. You will all leave immediately." said Vader.

Sora looked up at the glass ceiling and his eyes widend. He pointed up at the sky and so did everyone else. Donald gasped and Goofy quickly pulled everyone close to him. Within seconds, everyone quickly went to the passageway. Sylvia helped Kairi up and they went with the others. And just in time too.

Something dark and with feathers crashed into the throne room, with a long Masamune in hand. Sephiroth looked up and smiled.

"So, you decided to go against Chernabog's plan?" asked Sephiroth.

"Chernabog does not own me. And he will not control how I live my life." said Vader.

"I know I'm a pawn as well. However, I too have ambitions and dreams of Vader. I wish to rule as well, with Chernabog dead. He will not have power over me as I become the true king of this dimension." said Sephiroth.

"No. I will be the ruler." said Darth Vader, igniting his red Lightsaber.

Sephiroth and Darth Vader then exchanged blows with their swords. As they fought, Sephiroth flew into the throne room with his wing, causing purple meteors to appear and hit Vader. But the sith lord used the Force to push them towards Sephiroth, who flew away from them as they exploded. Vader may not have been as agile as Sephiroth, but what aided him was his ability to use the force. He threw his massive throne to Sephiroth with ease and the one winged angel split it apart.

Vader then used the force to pick up the pieces of glass that broke from the ceiling. He gathered them together and threw them at Sephiroth like daggers. Sephiroth used his Masamune to defend himself while Vader pulled him down with the force.

"Your utter reliance on the Force makes you weak!" snarled Sephiroth.

"You underestimate the Force." replied Vader.

Sephiroth ran around the room with his blade in hand while Vader defended each stab with his lightsaber. Surprisingly, his lightsaber couldn't cut Sephiroth's sword. It was made of a powerful material that deflected lasers.

They continued fighting in the room. They did not stop. They kept on trading blows and stabs for quite a while.
