Hey, something odd happened when I was trying to post this chapter. For some reason when I first attempted it, it came out as all this wierd code or whatever the hell so that was strange not gonna lie. Fortunately it seems like I fixed that issue.
As usual I am not any of the following: Nintendo, Rick Riordan, the owner of either of these universes beyond my own imaginations, have the rights to any merchandise regarding either of these fandoms. As if you couldn't tell that already.

Chapter Seventeen
Water and Fire
It had been two months since we had activated the divine beasts when we received intel that told us of the location of the Yiga clan's hideout. This was major news, because as the Yiga were our primary enemies in this aside from Demise and the monsters, if we could destroy the Yiga clan, we could hinder Demise's efforts, until the next blood moon at least. Speaking of that foul creature by the way, we still hadn't seen him though. Odd, but we didn't know it was because he was still incorporeal, still bidding his time.
We were nearly finished making our plans to attack the Yiga clan's hideout, which happened to be none other than the cave in what used to be North Dakota that I had visited years ago when I was seventeen. I was about to leave to volunteer to go, when I stopped. They didn't need me for this, we would be sending in our troops as well as Vah Naboris. There would be no need for my presence on this mission. I turned around to see my wife smiling at me, happy at the choice I'd made. Her smile was so warm it told me I'd made the right choice. I would do anything to make her happy, her happiness was one of my primary concerns.
I embraced my wife in my arms, her arms wrapping around my chest as she leaned her head against my collarbone. She spoke up, voice muffled a little by my tunic, "Thank you, Link. Thank you very much for staying here with me. I don't like not being able to go with you on dangerous missions, I get so worried for you when I'm not there to look after you."
"I know, that's part of the reason why I'm staying this time, and even the times where I don't stay, I wish I could stay with you too." I softly reply.
Upon the mission's successful completion, the Yiga clan having been sent running from their hideout by the assault of Naboris and our troops, the Yiga clan were horrified to find out that the divine beasts were being used in this fight.
However, our happiness at the outcome was darkened when Ganondorf told us something that made everyone stop. He told us that now that the Yiga clan knew about the divine beasts, it was only a matter of time before Demise did as well.
0000000000000000000000000000
A month later, when our son was seven months old, we discovered that there was an utterly massive horde of monsters approaching one of the outposts on the eastern border of the western piece of the country. Exact numbers weren't known as the information had come from one of the satellites that had been placed in orbit to keep tabs on the monster population, but we knew it was large enough to warrant the mustering of all four divine beasts to the outpost.
It was a challenge getting it so that we could fast travel the beasts there but we got it done eventually. Upon our arrival with the massive machines, we received word from one our monitoring stations that orbital reconnaissance had also spotted something out of the ordinary in rural Kansas, almost smack dab in the center of the country. It was described as a large castle type structure, with five enormous pillars around it, and the entire location enveloped in a wispy fog.
Upon seeing the satellite images, my wife and I had been shocked. It looked exactly like Hyrule Castle from our last lifetime. The columns and wispy fog was exactly like with Calamity Ganon. We knew in that moment that that was where the evil was hiding out, we knew that for certain. We could feel it, that the final battle would take place there.
The massive horde of monsters drew closer, our forces got ready to fight. I tightly gripped the hilt of my sword, my wife was also anxiously white-knuckling the bow of light. We were both here, having left our children at Camp Jupiter. We couldn't take them with us into a warzone obviously, but the situation required both of our power. Together we could make a difference, despite what you might say about our decision. Not only were we here, but we were leading this venture, though not of our own choice that is. Everyone else had basically nominated us the leaders for this and we just went along with it as there wasn't time to argue about it. Just as we were about to engage the monsters while our champions readied their divine beasts, the unthinkable happened.
On the live feed from the satellite, the fog around the castle thickened and fired four smoky projectiles in the direction of the beasts, though the castle was hundreds of miles away. I instantly knew exactly what was going on, Demise was doing it again. He was going to try again to corrupt the beasts and kill the champions. Or could it have been a response to the presence of the beasts? There was no time for anything other than what I did, I lifted my wrist and activated the communication device there as the smoky balls appeared over the horizon.
"Attention all champions! Go on the defensive instantly! Get ready to protect yourself, hold out as long as you can against whatever foul thing appears!" I almost shout as I begin running directly to Ruta.
The agreement comes just in time as the smoky balls diffuse into the beasts, a fog of malice suddenly enshrouds them. However, their lights are still blue so there is still time. My wife and I flash each other a look as we wordlessly confer with each other, if we do this together one beast at a time, we may run out of time to save our champions. We don't want to, but we know we have to split up and each take two of the beasts. We embrace for just a moment and give each other a short kiss, wishing each other luck and to be careful before we're sprinting apart, me toward Ruta and Rudania and Zelda toward Naboris and Medoh.
As I charged towards the two divine beasts, hordes of monsters raced towards me and got between me and my destination. I saw bokoblins, moblins, lizalfos, and lynels, and all of them were silver. I became practically a whirlwind of devastation to the monsters; spinning, slashing, and hacking, beams flying from my sword with every swing. This was the grandeur of the Master Sword at its full power. As I went, I saw some of the gods also fighting the monsters, releasing blasts of their magic power to great effect against the abominations. The other gods were assisting with defense, utilizing their power to shield our ranks. Monsters fell in droves, but there were always more. The fallen monsters puffed into smoke and disappeared, as I continued through the hordes, tearing through them like tissue paper, I began to be filled with an intense feeling regarding them.
It was disgust, these filthy stains on existence, these monsters all had to die. That they even existed at all was appalling, they must all be wiped out. I slashed a bokoblin in half, killing it instantly. As I continued along, obliterating all monsters in my path I started to approach Ruta, but was stopped by the appearance of a type of monster I hadn't seen since my last life. It was a gold lynel, I readied myself, ready for the lynel to charge or do anything really.
The lynel sneered at me, drawing its savage sword and savagely bladed shield in its own readiness. It glared down at me, its head more than three feet above mine. Then to my surprise, it spoke, this fucking thing spoke to me.
"Foolish hero! Your attempts to resist our cause are pointless!" It taunted, voice thick and heavy, like a mountain collapsing in on itself.
Foolish? Well we'd see about that! The lynel charged straight at me, sword out at its side to cut me in two. I crouched down and activated Revali's Gale, I whipped open the paraglider I'd made and streaked up into the air. The lynel skidded to a stop, stunned, then it tilted its head back and roared in anger.
"FOOL! YOU THINK THIS PUTS YOU OUT OF MY REACH?" It bellowed.
The lynel drew its bow and I saw the crackling electricity of shock arrows ready to fire up at me. I was faster, I pulled out my royal bow and began firing arrows so fast that to anyone else my hands would have looked like a blur. I fired bomb arrows at the monster's face, I landed back on the ground, the lynel collapsing onto one knee and one fist. Its lion-like mane was smoldering and its face was covered in burns. Before it could get up again, I raced towards it, jumping onto its back. I got in about maybe six strikes before I quickly leaped off upon seeing the lynel reaching back to grab me with one of its huge beefy hands
The lynel howled, rearing up on two legs, sword raised and pointed down. Knowing it was about to unleash a blast of fire, I fired an arrow directly into its cheek. The lynel roared now, reaching up one hand to grab the arrow and yank it out and break it like a twig in its hand. The beast then returned its gaze to me, its eyes radiating a hatred stronger than any monster I'd ever seen.
The lynel reared up on two legs again but this time with its sword cocked back for a downward slice. Darting forward like lightning I ran right up to the beast, before sliding underneath it, while driving my sword up into its belly. The sword sliced a gash in the lynel as I slid out from under it, I stood again and turned back to the monster.
The lynel collapsed to its hands as well as its feet, it shuffled around to face me. It's face now showed shock and fear, its guts along with a torrent of blood gushing from the wound on its underside. The monster gurgled, blood bubbling out of its mouth as it attempted to speak.
"How?" It rasped before expiring and puffing away in smoke. 'Disgusting.' I thought.
Taking the opportunity, I activated Revali's Gale again and flew up to Ruta's entrance. I charged inside, knowing exactly where to go. I sprinted into the large room where the main control unit was located. There they were, Ralis and Waterblight. Ralis was holding a pair of long tridents that looked nearly identical to Mipha's. Waterblight…Demise, I guess as it wasn't really Ganon, looked a little different this time. This time as well as a spear, it also held a huge mace on a long chain and had several cryonis ice blocks around it, that was new but no matter. Ralis turned his head at the sound of my entrance.
"I knew you would come my friend!" He said confidently. "Now let us destroy this vile creature!"
The blight came right at me and I charged up Urbosa's fury, thinking that since this abomination was water based, maybe electricity would help. I released the electricity with a crash of thunder, lightning stabbed into the blight, it jerked and screeched. I raced forward to the prone creature on the floor, and began slicing and slashing at it. The blight quickly got up again and swung its mace in our direction, I blinked in surprise, there was no stopping it. My shield would shatter if it were hit by this mace, it was over! I was going to die at the hand of Waterblight. Wait a minute! Thinking with lightning speed I activated Daruk's protection around me and Ralis. The mace of the blight slammed into it, using one of the three usages of the ability. Then the blight went nuts, shrieking and flailing its mace around. It smashed into the shield two more times, leaving us completely unprotected now. I was in shock, it would take time for Daruk's protection to recharge, I was going to die! As the blight raced towards us, mace hurtling forward, ready to crush us to a paste, a massive wave suddenly knocked the mace off course. Ralis and I turned to see where it had come from. Standing not twenty feet away was the glowing spirit of Mipha.
"Mipha?!" I exclaimed, astonished.
"Yes, Link, I've come to help you. I promised you in your last life that I would always protect you, I intend to hold to that promise beyond just giving you my power." She replies, gripping her trident.
"Lady Mipha! Let us destroy this beast then!" Ralis proclaims, seeming delighted.
The three of us turned back toward Waterblight and we brought the beast down, with Mipha creating a waterspout of sorts then swimming up it and driving her trident into the blight's face, bringing it to the floor. Ralis lunged and embedded his tridents in the neck of the monstrosity, as I stabbed the Master Sword into its chest. It burst apart in smoke, dead at last.
"Astounding!" Ralis exclaimed, "Let us go rescue Darbus together!"
As we began racing over to Rudania, with Mipha staying in Vah Ruta in case we needed someone to pilot it, my mind went to the thought of my wife, how was she doing? I forced myself away from that thought, I couldn't focus on that now. As Ralis and I made our way through the monsters, I saw he was quite skilled with those tridents. Upon reaching the divine beast, we heard the blasts and screeches coming from above. We quickly got up there ourselves to help in the fight. There was Fireblight, with its huge sword and swinging it at Darbus. I happened to notice that Darbus was surrounded by an orange field. So, he was a descendant of Daruk then, how fitting.
Then in my mind I heard Daruk's voice, "Daruk's protection is now ready to roll!"
The blight turned to me and shrieked, before spinning rapidly in a circle to try to cut me to ribbons. Then I heard a roar from somewhere and before I could do anything a glowing green Goron with a huge weapon on his back placed himself directly in front of me, creating a large orange energy field, stopping the blade from hitting me.
"Daruk?" I ask, not so surprised now since I saw Mipha just a little bit ago.
"That's right little guy! Hey Darbus, you've done me proud! You got my bold spirit, you know that?" Daruk replied.
"Thank you, great Daruk!" Darbus stutters.
"Now what do you say we end this pain in the crag side by side little guy?" Daruk asked me.
"I say let's do that Daruk!" I enthusiastically reply.
We charged Fireblight, Daruk and Darbus hammering it with the massive weapons they held. The blight spun in a circle, the two Gorons both activated their protective ability. The blight's weapon rebounded off of them and left it dazed. I leaped into the air and fired an arrow right into its "eye" stopping it instantly. While it was dazed from the strike I raced forward and ended its existence, it squealed and burst into smoke as well. I looked out at the battlefield, and saw that Medoh and Naboris were back to normal as well, my wife was successful then. With this thought came another, what next? Now what did we do? What was should our next move be?
