"The baby. Is it okay?" The words left my mouth before I'd fully come to. Damn, maybe helping Lissa right now wasn't such a good idea. Mikhail helped sit me up onto the bed.

"Rose, maybe we should find a doctor, just to make sure you're both okay."

"That may not be the worst idea in the world. I'm not worried about me but the baby." The wave of confusion started to clear before I realised why I panicked in the first place. Oh god, Christian, and worst of all Dimitri. I sucked in a breath as I looked down at the phone, my hands forgot how to move. Surely they'd be gone now right? With any luck the phone would've disconnected when I dropped it to the ground. The universe probably has other plans though.

Mikhail seemed to follow my line of sight and froze. He glanced at me as if to ask to leave and I nodded. Didn't need to tell him twice, he bolted like he was being chased.

Was it too late to hang up and run myself? Haha good one Rose.

I bent down and wrapped my hand around the phone and lifted it to my ear.

"Christian?"

"Roza! Are you okay?" I jumped, honestly I don't know why I was shocked, thanks Sparky.

"Belikov. I'm fantastic, just shouldn't have taken so much darkness that's all." I tried to laugh it off, I honestly have no idea how much he had heard and wasn't going to be the first one to bring anything up. For all I know they didn't hear anything.

"Where are you?" He asked suddenly.

"This again? I'm on a mission and that's all I will say."

"Is this how were going to be? Never around each other again?"

"This wasn't brought on by me, I tried to be apart of your life." I snapped, how dare he try to guilt me.

"So if I offered to help you right now to find Sonya, would you tell me where you are?" That I did not expect.

"Is this a joke, or a trap? Did Lissa send you to try and get me back to my duties? I'm not falling for this, we're doing great without the help." What an absolute lie but he didn't need to know that.

"That's a lie or I'm sure we would've heard something by now." Damn, he did have a point.

"Let me help Rose."

"What could you do that her lover or myself can't?" I challenged.

"Pretend to still be Strigoi to gain information.." Ouch, that is something I didn't even think of, and now I'm suddenly trying to think of another argument as to why we don't need him. I can't.

"Rose?"

"Fine!" I snapped.

"You'll let me help?" He asked and I swear I heard relief in his voice, it can't be.

"I have conditions. I am to be treated as your equal no matter what, and you don't use this as a way to trap me into returning. Also once we are done you return back to Lissa.

"You have always been my equal Rose." Damn with lines like that he makes it so hard to be pissed off.

"I will send you the details of where we are and have someone help to assist you in getting here."

"Where is here?" He asked.

"Russia." He was dead silent but I knew he'd heard me.

"Oh and Dimitri, I have one more condition to you coming to help."

"And what's that?" That seemed to wake him up.

"You have to go and tell your family you're alive. It's up to you, I'll be waiting. Until tomorrow Comrade." I hung up so fast before he could reply. I couldn't understand where the confidence came from to play with him like that, but it felt good to be in control for once.

That was all until the realisation that even if Dimitri didn't hear about the baby he'd soon see for himself if close enough.

So much for no drama anymore, here we go again.
