Chapter 39

Roxas spent the whole year in Oblivion fighting off the shadows of the Heartless. Xehanort unleashed them all over the school. Luckily, so far, no one has lost their heart. Yet.

Terra and Aqua were leading an underground resistance group in the catacombs of the school. A while back, Terra sneaked inside the school and hid himself until Aqua found him. They then started to unite a few brave souls to fight back the old man. The whole year was like that. Everyday, there were meetings, speeches, prayers and plans to stop the Heartless.

And at long last, Xehanort passed away. The only ones who remained were Sephiroth and Chernabog. Now, a small squad was meeting in a room. A room which once was the place where poor Namine was being held a year ago, before being reduced by Sora, Denzel and Marlene.

"We need to fight back now! Sephiroth and Chernabog must die!" cried out Ventus.

"Ven, we need a solid plan. We can't simply go up against them like this head on." said Aqua.

"I can't connect to Acme Acres either. It's hard to send anyone a message." said Woody, the cowboy.

"Xehanort cut all ties with the internet a year ago." grumbled Grumpy.

"So our only hope is for the Keyblade Wielder to arrive?" asked Miguel Rivera.

"Yes. That's our only hope." said Hiro, sitting on a chair, looking gloomy.

Luca was biting his lip and Alberto, his friend, patted him on the back.

"Well, here's the damn thing. The Bruno in my head is telling me that we need to fight! FIGHT!" said Alberto showing his teeth.

"You are still human." chuckled Terra, who was silent most of the meeting. He was tall, muscular and had two weapons in his back. A Buster Sword and a Gunblade. He looked more than ready to fight, yet he looked very tired. It was said he fought against Xehanort, lost and was taken for dead. It was Grumpy and his family who found him and healed him back to health.

"What about the princess?" asked Miguel.

"You mean Snow White?" asked Hiro.

"Yeah. Isn't she going to help us?" asked Miguel.

"We can't wait for a miracle everyone! I'm with the fish kid on this one." said Roxas.

"Calm down everyone. We need to gather all the fighters here. If we face Sephiroth without an army, we are doomed and we can say goodbye to our planet." said Aqua.

"I say we wait. It's best to have everyone rest. There have not been Heartless sightings for a while." said Terra.

Roxas shook his head. "I'm not hearing this. You all became cowards!" he said.

"It's not like that! Calm down." pleaded Ventus to Roxas.

"Oh, now you tell me to calm down? Really?!" cried Roxas as he stormed off the room.

Everyone was taken aback and Ventus followed him out into the hallway.

"Close the door." said Terra to Luca. Luca nodded and did what he was told as Ventus followed Roxas deeper into the damp catacombs.

"You are unbelievable!" said Roxas.

"Talk to me. Don't be like that." said Ventus.

"Oh, now you tell me. Listen man, you ruined everything! I can't take you seriously after what happened to us!" cried Roxas.

"I know what you are talking about. You're talking about what went on with Vanitas and me. And Xion." said Ven.

"I'm glad Xion chose Vanitas over you. You have been very neglectful of us and you haven't spoken to anyone since that day." said Roxas.

"I was fighting a war." said Ven.

"A war that we were a part of! And we could have helped you! But instead, you allowed Xehanort to hurt Vanitas and he even hurt Sora! You realize how unhappy he's been since the separation? Do you?!" cried Roxas.

Ven nodded. "I know. And I understand. I should never have left you guys. But I was fighting a war here. I was joining the fight for a better tomorrow." said Ven.

"Ven, I've had it up to here with the fighting. And with the whole secrecy of things. If you are going to apologize, apologize to Sora. He's the one who suffered the most after the separation." said Roxas. And with that, he turned to leave.
