We are back. With the new year, I'm gonna aim for around 1 to 2 chapters a month so this will be the only one for February but hopefully, they'll be 2 for March going forward as with the slowed-down uploads, I'm much further behind than I thought I would when I first started this as I wanted to have finished everything in season 3 before season 6 aired but then life happened.

Chapter 55: Changing Times

Days after the Kamino incident, as it was called, things may have appeared to have settled, but it was clear that this wasn't the case for anyone who walked the streets. People were anxious, and people were scared as while All Might managed one more win, defeating the mysterious villain that could destroy entire city blocks, his weakened form was revealed to the world, and he was forced into retirement. It was because of this, and other information concerning the League the heads of all of Honshu's police departments had been called for a meeting in Tokyo.

"The Nomu we captured are just as unresponsive as the rest of them, mindless monsters incapable of giving up anything information if they are even capable of holding it. With the warehouse destroyed, there isn't much we expect to find, though we'll continue to search through the area with a fine-toothed comb." One of the officers that had been in the field collecting evidence reported to this gathering, the large screen behind him showcasing images of both the immediate aftermath of the battle and what it appeared to be now, 3 days later.

"The Bar is much of the same as while not nearly as damaged as the warehouse, except for clothing and other personal items belonging to some of the villains, we haven't found anything of worth." The man signed as he finished his report, as while they certainly caught the League flat-footed, they hadn't managed to capture or learn anything of substance other than what brands Kurogiri and Shigaraki preferred to buy, and as if to spite them, all of them were the most common ones, not something one or two stores stocked, but nearly all of them.

"We apprehended all the Nomu sure, but we still allowed most of the perpetrators including Shigaraki escape. More than that, 7 officers dead with half the police officers gathered gravely injured. Over 80 people were killed in the chaos." They are fortunate that they along with the HPSC had been able to stop that from reaching the mainstream, downplaying the real numbers but there was only so much they could do, as people still talked about it, both on the streets and on the internet.

"Frankly, the fact that we as the police had to rely on a student activating a tracker the villains didn't detect to even locate the warehouse is shameful." Another spoke, only adding to the frustrations in the room.

"Even though we captured their boss, this whole thing is a draw at best." One of the younger ones spoke up, but the leader of the group, the eldest of them scoffed at that.

"Don't be an idiot, our country has lost its Symbol of Peace, with All Might's condition now public knowledge, our biggest deterrent for crime has fallen." He reminded them all as while many had been born before All Might's era of peace, only he had been old enough to truly understand the darkness that was those times when All for One's shadow rule was absolute and villains ran the streets.

"It was our fault for relying so much on a single man, this was bound to happen once his injury forced him into retirement." One of the older ones spoke, agreeing with him as in hindsight, it was a foolish idea but he supposed that many of them, not just the blissfully ignorant public, had grown incapable of imagining a world without their symbol and because of that, never planned for it.

"And now the people know they can raise hell with just a handful of thugs, it doesn't take much to see what that can inspire." Another frowned as even now, a mere 3 days since the incident, crime had spiked as he had already seen his officers be sent out on more work than they had to deal with in the past decade that wasn't related to some natural disaster. The only saving grace was that it was mostly small-time thugs and low-level villains, little to worry about on their own but when they all happen at once…

"And the League is still active to take full advantage of that fact, no doubt they'll sow further seeds of chaos while recruiting more to their ranks." That was true, as their attack on UA's summer camp had been carried with recruits, and while they managed to arrest three of them, including a middle schooler to God's sake, the league still managed to escape with most of them. More than that, if what Shiretoko said about the accomplice was to be believed, their pool of recruits wasn't limited to just Japan.

"Our initial profile of Shigaraki painted him as childish and prone to tantrums, but that's not the case anymore. With each attack, he evolves and with it, his plans grow more solid and easy to bend to change." The oldest spoke up again, picking up that said report that described Shigaraki as at best, a D-rank villain with a C-rank quirk. The same report wrote that the warp gate user was the bigger threat, a notion that all present knew to be false as he tossed the report into the bin next to his seat.

"Are you suggesting that this was part of the League's plans?" One of them spoke up, and while he hid it well, as was expected of a police chief, the old guard could see he was scared, and so was he.

"It does sound like quite the leap." One of the others spoke in defense of their colleague.

"The League? Not likely but for their leader to have seen this coming and accounted for it? I wouldn't be surprised as you don't rule as the king of the underworld for as long as he has without the cunning and foresight to handle potential threats." The elder reminded them all as All for One wouldn't have appeared unless he had something to gain in the long run, sure they captured him, but who's to say that wasn't part of the plan? His battle exposed All Might, it created this atmosphere and unease, and it's given the villains more room to work and draw numbers to their cause.

The way he saw it, this chief was so close to retirement, he would rather they overthink this and try and create as many counters and plans than they underestimate this and be woefully unprepared for the next thing the League did.

"Despite all that, there is one thing that is certain about this." He looked towards them all, his gaze as hard as stone. "We must capture the League of Villains no matter what, and we as the police need to take a much more active role in this fight, we aren't just back-up, not anymore."

As this meeting went on, another was happening in the nearby hospital, one of the best in the country and renowned not just for its care, but also for the privacy afforded to its patients. Hence while All Might didn't find having this discussion in his hospital room.

"Any lingering pain?" Tsukauchi asked his friend, the now-retired pro covering head to two in thick bandages as he rested in his bed, as was the doctor's orders.

"Nothing new." He replied before he raised his arm, trying to call on his power, but getting nothing but got nothing. "The last embers of my power have been spent, and with them, the mighty symbol of peace has been snuffed out." He told them, having to accept that his time was well and truly over.

"But I won't just sit there, there is still something I must do." Despite that, he wasn't going to just stand by, not when there was someone out there that needed him.

"Tomura Shigaraki, Shimura's grandson…that's what All for One claimed, right?" Gran Torino, also injured from the battle asked as his hands rested on his trusty cane.

"The only proof we have of that is what All for One said, I wouldn't trust him as a source of truth," Tsukauchi replied but Yoroi Musha, having little in the way of injuries from the fight, shook his head.

"Neither would I, however in all the years I have battled him, I've learned that snake is a great many things," He crossed his arms. "A liar isn't one of them."

"Are you sure?" The detective asked, to which Gran Torino replied.

"He is, he'll leave out details, frame it to suit whatever context he wishes but he never lies, claims it makes his words that much more devastating both against us and those poor souls that find themselves under his thumb." They had seen it many times, how people he tricked to work for him defended him, or those he caught in his web would plead that he'll do this or that if they did what he asked, or were caught.

"Still, while I was never close to her, I would have thought the two of you would have kept in contact with her family after her passing." Yoroi Musha turned his gaze towards the two in question, finding the idea that both broke all contact with the Shimura family preposterous, even he kept to date on the affairs of the families of sidekicks he had lost if only to insure they hadn't fallen on hard times.

To this, Gran Torino sighed, feeling as old as he was as this wasn't something he liked to think about, not when he had to bear witness to how much he tore his friend apart. "It happened shortly after her husband was killed. Concerned, she placed her child in foster care and broke all contact with him, more than that, she asked us to do the same, even if the worst would happen to her." She had been adamant on that, despite whatever objections he could raise as she refused to lose someone else.

"After she was killed, Gran Torino had me leave for the States so that I could continue my training without the threat of All for One, but…" All Might-Toshinori had never met her family, not like Gran Torino. He only heard about them from the two, how she and her husband loved each other, how she left things like cooking to him as she find a way to burn water, how he worked in the support industry, and how they met in school when he helped her improve her hero gear. How her son was the most energetic and excitable kid you could ever meet.

But…then her husband, Hiro-was killed. He never found out if it was connected to All for One, or just a random villain as was the tragic case in those days. Regardless, she was much more…restrained, and reserved after that, even if she tried to act like it wasn't affecting her but whenever he tried to ask, she would only smile, ruffle his hair and change the subject. Then, about 3 months later, she was killed.

"After that, to be honest, I placed so much time into training Toshinori and hero work, that I never thought about the boy again, if you asked me what I thought he was up to now before this, I would have assumed he was just another salaryman with a wife and children, safe from all this, from All for One's reach." Gran Torino finished the shared thought of shame, as while they respected her wishes, they wished that they hadn't.

"And in the end, that promise backfired…" Tsukauchi said to himself, agreeing that the situation was much more complicated than he first thought.

"My master gave up her heart so her family might know a life of peace, it near broke her to do it even if it was for their safety. I must track down Shigaraki and-" All Might was stopped by his teacher who cut him off.

"And what? Give him a hug and a stern talking to. We're long passed that point, Toshinori and you need to see that." Gran Torino could admit that the boy must have had a bad hand and that as the descendant of his dear friend, he felt like he failed him for not being there to help, but that didn't erase what he had done, the people he had hurt.

"Despite his blood, he's still a villain, one of the most wanted in the country at present. You can't afford to treat him as anything less, else he'll be the one to finish you off." Yoroi Musha agreed with him. It was a tragedy, sure but they still had their roles as heroes to fulfill, they couldn't give him special treatment just for who his grandmother was.

"We'll investigate the League, but you need to focus on recovery and teaching your students, in this era without you as the symbol, they'll need all the training and wisdom we adults can give." Gran Torino instructed him, as while he couldn't act like he used to, he could still help them by being a more engaged teacher.

"And how they? I just saw them being carried off by the students but-" All Might started to ask as he nearly had a heart attack when he noticed the students during the battle, more so when Bakugo started to attack from the air. He was only grateful that they merely grabbed the two and run, with that crafty little support mech covering their escape.

"Yes, Kendo, your successor, and their friends managed to get them to the hospital while others remained behind and helped with rescue and disaster relief. If I wasn't beaten up, I would be having words with that girl after giving her a pat on the back for their efforts." Gran Torino wanted to both smack her upside the head and pat her on the back for their reckless stunt. But that was the only real good news concerning the two rescued hostages.

"Ragdoll's condition was the lesser of the two and she should be discharged in a day or two, but…" Yoroi Musha started to pause, that pause being enough for Toshinori to put 2 and 2 together.

"She's quirkless, isn't she…" He asked.

"Yeah, she didn't know why till we explained things to her, she's handling it…as well as you can expect. The Wild Wild Pussycats haven't left her side since." Tsukauchi had been the one to deliver the news to her. She hadn't handled it well, but he wouldn't consider seeing a 30-something woman breaking down pathetic, how could he when quirks were so intricately connected to people? Who in their right mind could ever imagine having it one day, and not the next?

"Midoriya was the most…concerning," Yoroi Musha's fists tightened as he thought about the condition that his intern had suffered. "He spent hours on the table thanks to the sorry state his leg was in, doctors did what they could but as far as they can tell, the limb will never be the same."

"His dream…?" Toshinori asked, wide-eyed as he considered the implications to the boy, a phantom pain shooting through his old wound.

"On ice, they don't think it's that bad, but it's not something he can ignore either, only time will tell," Yoroi told him, getting him to relax a little bit.

"I have a feeling that wasn't the only thing." He asked while he wasn't the best at social cues outside hero work, he had been one enough to be able to tell when someone was hiding something from him, and it seems like they were as the three looked at one another, a silent discussion on how to proceed.

"They had to sedate him as when he woke up, he was a mess. Barely coherent, half responsive to the medical staff, and spitting apologies while begging forgiveness." Yoroi Musha hadn't been present, Rahzar had been and he had to help the staff hold him down while they sedated him. It was like he was trapped in a nightmare, but still awake from what he told him. The American was bleeding with concern for the boy, and rage at the bastards that did that to him.

"Damn him…!" All Might felt that same anger as he heard that, he had only seen it a handful of times, more than he wished, but he had seen what some of the vilest villains could do to their victims.

"That's not the worst part, while he wasn't able to give much, Ragdoll was." Tsukauchi stepped in, having interviewed the pro before she fell into her hysterics after learning the truth of her condition. "You recall Sam Wilson?" He asked his friend, who took a moment to think about the name.

"Yes, Dave's assistant, we worked with the villains on I-island, but he-" He paused, they never did find the body…just like with All for One 6 years prior, don't tell him that…

"Died? No, he's working with All for One, he was the one that tortured the boy." The detective relayed to him, having heard from Ragdoll how Midoriya and he talked, and what he looked like after the first 'interrogation'.

Some floors down, in that same hospital, the Midoriya were in Izuku's room, the boy strangely but understandably quiet as he held to his mother like a lifeline, his body wrapped up in bandages with a thick cast over his left leg, with the boy wearing a scarf his mother had brought to cover up his face, to cover the fact he was missing several teeth that they yet to replace them. "Our staff did their best to repair the damage done, and Recovery Girl added her support while you were unconscious but your leg was seriously messed up." The doctor told the two, but his patient didn't respond he merely buried his face deeper into the croak of her neck as his mother did her best to keep him calm.

Knowing that he wouldn't respond anytime soon, he turned his attention to his mother, the woman who looked like she hadn't slept in days, no doubt from worry. "Both the tibia and fibula were broken, the latter in 2 places and while the villains treated it, their torture undid all of that. Along with it, there was major muscle damage that needed intensive corrective surgery to repair." That last bit applied to his whole body, even if it was mainly in his leg.

"But he'll walk again, right doctor?" Inko asked as she kept stroking her son's hair, the boy crying into her neck as she kept up her motions.

"Most definitely, but he'll need to spend the next 2 weeks in a wheelchair however, I can't stress this enough that your leg is not the same as it used to be, if you take another injury even close to this one, you may lose the ability to lose the limb." He warned them, directing her attention to the wheelchair in the corner which he'll have to use.

"We'll keep that in mind, doctor. Any recommendations?" She asked him, her tired but concerned eyes boring into his own as he took a breath.

"Firstly, it goes without saying that he should stay off the limb, and when he starts to walk again, I would advise he were a brace for at least 2 months, I can write you a prescription for that later. He'll also need to take some medication for around the same amount of time." He also suspected that the boy would have mental issues after such a traumatic event, but it wasn't his field nor his preview to prescribe drugs, they'll have to see the physiologist about that.

Seeing that he had nothing more to say, Inko nodded at him before turning her full attention to her child. "Thank you, doctor."

"…Thank you…" Izuku spoke up for the first time since the doctor came in, but it was meek, soft, and terrified as he hadn't even faced him when he said it, merely tightening his hold on his mother as if scared she'll vanish if he let go.

"I'll leave you to your privacy, if you need me, I'm just a button away." Seeing that he wasn't welcome to this, he made himself scarce. Alone, no words were said as Inko tended to her child, humming to him as her heart broke at the condition he had been left in. Time passed but she didn't care to look at the clock, nor pay attention to the mute TV in the corner, she was so invested in ensuring her son didn't have another panic attack, she almost didn't hear him speak up for the 3rd time that day.

"…Sorry…" He got out, sounding ashamed of himself, but she wasn't going to let them stand, not for a second.

"Hush now, baby. You have nothing to apologize for." She told him, feeling him start to shake even more in her arms.

"But I wasn't strong enough…I wasn't able to keep it secret." She didn't know what he was talking about, but she wouldn't allow this kind of thinking she moved away a bit, her hands on his shoulders as she looked into his scared, crying eyes.

"Whatever is it, it's not your fault. You did far more anyone could expect from you, understand?" She told him, her tone leaving little room for doubt as she moved her thumbs to clear his tears away.

"…Yes." He nodded, though she could tell he didn't believe it just yet as she moved him closer to her again, letting her hug envelop him. But their quiet time was interrupted by a door at the door, which sent him into a small panic as she hugged her tighter as if scared those vile villains were behind the door.

"Whose's there?" She called out, she knew that it wouldn't be anyone that meant them harm, but her hand still reached for the nurses' button nonetheless.

"Forgive the intrusion, this is Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi from the police, may I come in?" A voice on the other side spoke up, but she didn't respond as she turned to her son this was about him, so he should have the choice. He was quiet for a bit, whimpering into her before he looked up at her, scared but seeing her comforting eyes telling him she was there for him. That gaze gave him strength.

"Enter." A moment later, the door quietly slid open to reveal a man in a trench coat, his fedora in hand as he bowed to them, closing the door behind him just as silently.

"Thank you, I wish that I didn't need to speak with you so soon after your ordeal, but these are trying times," Tsukauchi said, keeping his volume low to not distress the boy any further than he already was.

"What do you want?" Inko asked him, her body positioned to be in the way of him.

"I would like to question him, nothing much and if it gets too much, I'll happily leave." If Tsukauchi noticed this hyper-protectiveness, he didn't let it show as he stated the purpose for why he was here.

"Izuku, are you up for that?" Inko turned to her son, keeping an eye on the detective.

"Do I have to?" Izuku asked, his head turned away from the man.

"You don't young man, this is all up to you," Tsukauchi spoke up, his arms raised to show his intent as while he wished to get more information, he wasn't about to add to the trauma the boy had going for him to do it. Izuku was quiet again, thinking about if he should speak or not. After a little bit, he rose his head a little, and turned to the detective, but kept his grip on his mother who returned the gesture.

"…Sam was there."

(Sometime later)

Hours later, Inko was stepping out of her son's room. The previous experience only made her feel worse about the situation. Izuku had spoken about what he saw…what he experienced with the League as he revealed that Wilson was still alive, a fact she was shocked about, but the fact he was working for the League was even greater as she always thought he was a nice man, a good teacher to her son.

He informed that Sam giving this All for One his code, and how the man had gotten Izuku to do the same, a part of the story where they had to take 10 whole minutes to calm him down as he had grown increasingly terrified and ashamed of him, muttering over and over for failing to keep it secret.

In total, what would have normally been 10, maybe 15 minutes ended up taking nearly an hour and a half, by the end of it, he had been so mentally exhausted that he passed out and even now, 2 hours later, he was latched to her coat which she had to slip out of to go to the restroom. "How is he?" Inko turned to see a concerned Yu, still in her hero costume, only covered by a sundress which seemed more comical than useful.

"Asleep, he's dealing with so much right now, poor boy held to me the entire time." She replied, yawning as she had rushed here early and was in dire need of rest.

"Heard that you chased off the staff when they said visiting hours were over, respect." Yu smiled, trying to find some humor in the situation, something that Inko appreciated.

"The last thing he needed was to be alone," Inko replied as Yu signed.

"Sorry about that, I would have got here sooner but crime doesn't rest," Yu informed her, hating the fact she was hours late, but there were a ton of small-time criminals and other troubles on the way here, and while it took little time to handle them, it took longer handling the police statements, etc. She was brought back to the conversation when Inko placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sure he'll understand." Inko smiled at her, having no malice or annoyance for her late arrival, things were pretty hectic at the moment.

"Doesn't make me feel any less like shit. Go on, you need your rest as well, I'll call if anything comes up, alright Inko?" She told the older woman, who nodded to it as she couldn't afford to collapse now, the last thing they needed was to further stress her son.

"Yes…I will." She told her walking off before turning to face her one last time. "Thank you." With that said, the two parted as Inko went home to rest while Yu quietly entered Izuku's hospital room.

The inside was just as quiet as she expected, as he wasn't connected to any machines, it was silent. The main occupant of the room lay asleep in bed, even as she walked up to him, she could tell he wasn't having sweet dreams as he gripped onto the coat that Inko had most likely left behind. She quickly took the vacant seat and grabbed onto his hands, moving her thumb over the back of it to try and give him some semblance of rest. "Oh baby," She whispered, her heart crying for what she saw, now outside the heat of the moment as he slept with his scarf pulled to his nose, covering his lower face. "What did they do to you?"

The next day, All Might along with Vlad King and Eraserhead were called to meet with Nezu at UA, the principal meeting them in his office. "Thank you, All Might, you've saved thousands of lives despite the personal cost you endured, as a principal, a pro and as a citizen of this country, I wish to thank you for that." The animal principal stated with a smile, one that felt more genuine them his standard ones. The three heroes were out of their hero gear, dressed in dress shirts and slacks.

Nezu unfortunately, couldn't keep things positive forever as he had called them here for a reason, that reason being an article he had brought up on his tablet. "However,…"

"I heard, people are concerned about my continue tenure as a teacher, considering that all this started after it was announced he would be teaching here." All Might spoke, having heard about this from Tsukauchi as he was being discharged, the man still recovering as his arm remained in a sling.

"To be expected, things are crazy right now, how could they not with no symbol like All Might for the first time in 30 years?" Eraser stated, even if All Might wished that it wasn't true, it was the situation they were facing.

"It's not helped by the fact our students got involved again, if not for the police issuing their statement, we'll be in some hot water right now," Vlad added that he had been as shocked as Eraser when he got a call from the HPSC about that, how their students had been in the thick of it that night. Needless to say, they weren't happy about the unauthorized actions of the students.

"It helps that the students avoided fighting, from what I can tell, most are praising them for saving people and helping the professionals during a time of crisis." All Might said he didn't know the full details, not at the moment, but he knew enough that it was that one fact, that they didn't fight the villains directly, that saved the students and UA from some serious trouble.

"It's not like I condemn them for wanting to help, but I do have an issue with them not trusting us to be able to get the job done," Eraser replied, even if he was going to give them all detention and extra work for this stunt, it would be hypocritical to criticize would-be heroes for doing something heroic.

"Couldn't be helped, if not for Midoriya's tracker, we might not have found the warehouse, and he and Ragdoll would still be in their hands," Nezu said as they had kept most of the operation a secret from the press, but the law enforcement and pros involved had known about the reason they knew of the warehouse, and it didn't reflect well on them in the slightest.

"Which has led to a small, but vocal opinion about us as teachers," He lifted his tablet, changing it from an article concerning fears that All Might's presence will only draw continue attention from villains, a fact made worse by the fact he was no longer in a position to protect them-to another one that spoke about UA as a whole. "They question if UA is truly up to the task when its 1st-year students had to act of their own accord." While it did praise the students for their actions, and how they saved many lives, it didn't take a science degree to also see that it undermined UA as an institution.

"A headache waiting to happen," Eraser muttered as Vlad rubbed his head in exasperation.

"It's a delicate situation, I admit but I have a way to ease the concerns of the public, and continue to protect our students as we teach them to the best of our ability. I've already spoken with Alfred and the Ministry of Justice about it and it could be our best move." That last part caught their attention, as they would have expected it would be the police instead.

"The Ministry of Justice, what could…that's what you're planning, isn't it?" Vlad realized what he was doing, to which the principal nodded his head, looking a bit sadder about the implications of his actions.

"It pains me to do so, but we have little choice in the issue, I hope you can understand that." He told the three in front of him, he'll inform the rest of the staff later, but felt that they deserved to know first.

"Doesn't mean we have to like it, but no one said being a pro was an easy job," Eraser replied, agreeing to it, despite the bad taste it left in his mouth.

"I may not be able to fight like I used to, but I can assure you that I'll do my best for the students" All Might started before in a burst of steam, he was back to his full height. "Because I am here!" And just as soon, he was back to his weakened permanent form, coughing up blood as Vlad King handed him some tissues to use as Eraser muttered about illogical morons. Around an hour passed, with Nezu telling the three all he needed to tell them before he dismissed them, as they walked out of the office, All Might turned back to the principal.

"Before I leave, could you give me some pointers on teaching? Seeing how I'll be doing it full time." The two with him couldn't have left faster after they heard his foolish question. He didn't know what was the issue till he saw the glint in Nezu's eye as his smile took on a more sadistic light.

"Oh of course! I always adore aiding fellow teachers to reach their highest potential, please take a seat. I have some proven concepts for keeping their attention which I think you'll love!" All Might would spend the next 3 hours being given many intricate and confusing theories and examples which made him regret this as Gran Torino made him fear the gym, and Nezu will make him fear the classroom.

(The next day)

Aizawa and Toshinori always did their best to understand their students and their quirks, for a lack of a better world. It was part of who they were, and they accepted people from as wide w field as they could. They didn't mind that Bakugo was loud and aggressive, that Kaminari and Mina would prefer to goof off rather than study, and that Koda didn't like it when things were loud so they had to be gentler with him. Shoji wasn't as expressive as his classmates so you couldn't judge him by the norm, etc.

It was because of that, they never really thought about how off Yaoyorozu was in class when she seem to not get something that everything else did and chalked it up to her wealth as she came from one of the top 5 richest families in Japan. Though they did wonder just how big the silver spoon would need to be for someone as smart as her to simply not get common everyday things. As the two heroes sat in her home, meeting with her parents, they got an idea of it as even All Might, a man that met with some of the richest and most powerful people in the world, was amazed by the size of the property.

Even their tea room where they hosted guests like themselves was easy twice the size of one of UA's classrooms, the walls decked with paintings that would cost Aizawa two years' worth of his teacher's salary. The furniture far from anything you could just find in a store, handcrafted and made to order was the order of the day. But none of them was important as they sat across from the two parents, who to their credit, weren't as angry with them as some of the others they and other UA teachers had to speak to.

"I must admit that I don't particularly like this. I agree that focusing on the past will get us nowhere but the fact of the situation is that our child was under your care and was seriously injured." Momo's father, Miki stated.

"Yes, this is the 2nd time that UA was targeted specifically, correct? What's to stop a 3rd or even 4th attack? I can't just allow our daughter to move onto the same school which seems to have drawn the villain's ire." Airi was just as concerned, having been worried sick when they got word of the attack and that their daughter had to be taken to the hospital. Thankfully, she recovered with no issues, but that might not be the case the next time.

"Things have indeed been far from acceptable, I won't deny that but I can assure you this decision wasn't taken lightly, nor our of some sense to salvage UA's pride," Aizawa informed them, the form for the UA dorm system untouched on the table between the four.

"To address the concerns that many parents have for the safety of their children, UA has completely overhauled its security protocols and installed the latest in alerts and barriers that I-island could provide. We know that this might sound too little too late but we hope to continue to have the chance to teach Momo, and help her become the pro that she wishes to be." Toshinori added in, but that didn't make either parent feel better considering not even I-island was immune to a villain attack.

"Somehow, that doesn't make me feel better," Airi stated.

"Agreed, I'm still undecided on whether we should have her transfer to another school. UA indeed is the top one in the country, but Shiketsu is a close second, and if not, she can study abroad while this business with the League of Villains is settled." He loved his daughter and respected her dream to favor hero work over running the family business, but he wasn't going to compromise on her safety, if need be she could study in the States, or France, the girl was multi-lingual and wouldn't have issues interacting with others.

"I won't lie and say that those are bad options, but I can promise you that if you allow us the honor to continue to educate your daughter, you'll not be disappointed by the safety of her or her progress." Both teachers bowed to them, getting the two to look at the other, then at the form before reluctantly Airi picked it up and looked it over while Miki continued to question the two over the finer details.

"I would have thought the parents would come down on us much more than that." Aizawa stated as the two roads in the back of a black car, their jackets off as they finished their business with the Yaoyorozu's, the 4th family they had spoken to that day.

"That wasn't coming down on us?" Toshinori questioned him as they were far from an easy sell.

"You're new to this, you haven't seen a pissed-off parent, when one tries to throw their drink at you, or scream how they'll sue you for expelling their kid, then we can talk." Toshinori paused here, looking at his fellow teacher to see if he was joking, only to see he was being serious.

"Yikes, sounds rough," Toshinori muttered, having never thought that sitcoms were right about that.

"Part of the job, can't expect to only have parents singing your praise for helping their kid reach their full potential, though I suppose having you here dull their anger." That might have helped as they did seem to treat the former number one with a bit more respect than they did him.

"Don't worry, I may be skinny but you can hide behind me if we do get an angry parent." Toshinori joked.

"I'll pass," Aizawa replied, though he did have a small smile on his face as he looked down at the list they had been given when the teachers had split off for, 4 of the names crossed off with ticks next to them to signal that they had been spoken with, and agreed. "The next family is the Tokoyami's, correct?"

"As well as the Midoriya's, they called and said they were visiting and that we can make out a case to the both of them." This one was going to be a challenge, not just for the fact that the Tokoyami family was an old and large one, the clan having bought out an entire neighborhood and turned it into what could be described as a compound, but due to the fact their sons had been intricately involved in recent events, to say the least.

I'll end things here as this chapter turned out a bit longer than I wanted it to as I'm trying to limit chapter length to prevent myself from taking too long on them.

As for the anime itself, does it feel like the stakes are ignored, or is it just me? I mean, Deku shattered himself fighting Shigaraki after being told doing so can have long-lasting consequences, but then he's back on his feet in mere days, and while I appreciate that Hirokoshi was trying to add elements from the movies to help make it clear they're cannon, 1 the events of the movies NEVER come up in series, and 2 the new items he has to seem like a cop-out to try and have it both ways as All Might mentions that they can't withstand his full power, but then one he first received was rating for 3 full powered All Might punches, so wouldn't these upgraded versions be even stronger? We've seen what Mei can cook up in like a couple of weeks so you can't expect me to think Melissa wasn't able to make improvements to the original design to increase that limit to maybe 5 or 6 in an even longer period. So it feels like Hirokoshi was trying to keep the story going in the direction of action, but didn't want to just ignore Deku's injuries.

Now, this isn't me bashing him or anything so don't take it that way as the fact of the matter is that shonen has made the concept of rest and recovery something to be ignored and only brought up when it serves the plot. With the OG big three being the most responsible for this as in One Piece, characters are superhuman and there's no way you can say otherwise when even non-Devil fruit users can have the equivalent of an 18-wheeler smash into them and get back up like it's nothing. Naruto was filled with that kinda stuff as the MC, thanks to being Ninja Jesus plus having the strongest-tailed beast sealed inside of him that could heal him from practically anything mid-battle while other characters seem to be allergic to the hospital or sitting down and taking a breather, and this is disregarding medical ninjutsu or the 100-healing seal. Lastly, there's Bleach do I even need to say anything? Sure, we have titles like Demon Slayer where are every major arc when Tanjiro and co are injured, it's shown that they spent time resting, and then training to better themselves before the next mission, they're more of an outlier.

I've spoken with friends and other fans and they think it's because the situation demanded that Deku leave the hospital, that it's one thing but is it? Other plot points and events also seem to be rushed or changed midway through to allow a faster, cleaner ending as case in point, the whole thing with Shigaraki being overtaken by All for One doesn't make sense as if AFO was truly just prepping Tomura's body for himself, why did he let Jeanist and Overhaul keep their quirks? The man himself says he can't resist when he sees interesting quirks and notes that Jeanist's is interesting, but he doesn't. With Overhaul, with a little practice, he could heal his main body back to its former glory, or hand it over to Tomura to use in conjunction with Super Regen and his Decay. This would make sense if he truly was just mentoring the next number 1 villain, but because he wasn't, it'll be like it's revealed Shiozaki is an atheist.

To me, it seems like Hirokoshi realizing too late that Shigaraki has legitimate qualms with the status quo, that he and the League have good reason to want to tear it all down, and more importantly, Izuku can't be the morally right one if that continues as he'll be defending a broken system, it rings back to when Pain fought Naruto and Pain asked Naruto where did he as a Leaf ninja get off criticizing him for destroying his home and killing his friends when the Leaf has the same to his village before he asked Naruto what was his plan to bring about positive change and Naruto had to admit he didn't have a plan, hell he barely knew just how bad things were. Shigaraki is like Pain, but he doesn't intend to rule the world through fear, or to destroy entire cities so 'people will know the pain of loss and seek to avoid it' so he's a much worse foe to contend with narratively…so he had to swap out with the admitted Demon Lord wannabe as the main villain, and his agency had to robbed from him so Deku defeating him isn't 'defending a messed-up status-quo but it's 'defeating evil and saving a lost soul'.

Again, I don't hate what they're doing as the most recent episode was really good as Izuku was able to get through to Lady Nagant and prove that he's trying to be better BECAUSE things have been terrible, how that terrible world hidden from view had birthed the current situation. I even liked how the end of the episode makes it clear just how much Deku wants to find All for One and do some not-so-heroic things to him.

Sorry for the rant, but this has been on my mind for a while now and I needed to get it off my chest.
