I could feel Tom's gaze on me as I went up the stairs that led up to the girls' dormitories. I was searching which door to dorm I belonged in. Turns out I got one of the abandoned ones; much to my pleasure I discovered I was alone in the room.
The room itself had no windows, the walls were made of thick, old stone, practically concrete, if I died no one would know. I also noticed that the floor was refurbished, instead of the same stone that formed the walls it had a thick, plush dark emerald carpet, the room was decorated with the house colors, different tones of green, silver and black all over the room.
The bed was a four-poster bed, larger than any bed I had seen here at the castle. It looked like it had gone unused for a very long time. I watched amazed, as I took in all of my surroundings. 'Maybe it was the old room the prefects used when the school was first established?' I thought staring around the room.
With a flick of my wrist the fire in the hearth began once more. I quickly cleared all of the things I didn't want in the room and moved the other bed next to the far wall, near the room's entrance. I put miniature torches on different parts around the room, an all four of the walls, and let the room begin to increase in warmth. My room was probably the only room that was warmer than the others, and I would use that to my advantage.
It was late when I climbed on to the newly replaced mattress, after I had changed into my black spaghetti strap night dress, quickly falling into unconsciousness as I did so.
I was automatically submerged into blackness, distorted images and voices were now playing all around me.Confusing me as I turned looking all around me to try to figure out what was happening...
I woke up startled, unaware of my surroundings. I felt shock sink into me as all the memories of the past twenty-four hours replayed in my brain. Shaking my head to clear it I quickly got out of bed, grabbed my new uniform and went to take a quick shower.
I pulled on my longer and thicker pair of gray stockings and kitten heals, after I pulled on the uniform. Skirt, white button down, green and silver striped tie, and vest. Before I pulled on the gray coat and then pulled on my cloak. Which now had the house of Slytherin serpent on it. I left my hair down with the tips curled, as I made a couple of braids to keep my hair away from my face. With my bag on my shoulder, and my wand in my cloak I slipped out of the room and made my way down towards the common room, but not before extinguishing the hearth and the torches on the wall with a wave of my hand.
It was empty when I arrived there. I smirked before swiftly pulling out my book from my leather bag, Breaking Down Mental Barriers. Though it wasn't exactly considered to be deep in the darks arts, I knew that people would freak if they ever found out exactly how much power I held with just the flick of my wrist. My thoughts however were interrupted by a clicking a multiple healed shoes.
"Well, well, well. Why if isn't the little mudblood... Tell me, mudblood, what are you doing up this early?" She sneered as she stepped, or rather waddled, into the room followed by her loyal group of airheads.
I smirked back at her in response, sliding my book back into my leather bag before, looking up to answer her.
"Piggy, I'm sorry, I mean Peggy. Do you really want to mess with me right now? I would think you smart enough to know not to mess with me, especially after what happened... Tell me do you really respect Tom at all or are you just following him around like a lost little pup, for the way he looks?" I asked, as I leaned back in to chair, pretending to think of the answer.
I watched her take a step back as I looked back at her, a smirk pulling on my lips as I finally let my eyes land on her beady ones.
"I would advise you to think over the next time you call me a mudblood, Parkinson. You managed to catch me in a good mood right now, I don't think you or your idiotic harebrained friends will be so lucky next time." I said, picking up my bag and setting it onto my shoulder, before I pushed past them to leave.
They however had other plans, I realized this too. I smirked as her friends blocked my path, sneering- or attempting to sneer at me but looking like they were attempting to pass gas as they looked at me. Parkinson then smirked at me, in what she thought was evil. It looked more like she was trying to pass gas, and was having trouble going to the bathroom, though.
"I'm not done with you." She sneered, slowly struggling to pull out her wand from her cloak.
I rolled my eyes and flicked my wrist in the air before she even had her wand out.
I had her wand in my hand, using wandless magic I quickly used the Expelliarmus charm, and smirked at her reaction.
"Are you that dense to think that I won't put you through what I did to you before? You are always attacking me every chance you get, constantly bugging the hell out of everyone in this school. You look like one of those dogs that have their faces smashed in at the nose, and you wear clothes that are two sizes much too small for you. So, tell me, Parkinson, how much do you really value your pitiful life?" I asked, as I paced in front of her.
"Obviously not enough if she continues to ignore the warnings given to her." Tom spoke stepping out of the shadows, an annoyed expression on his face as he made his way towards my side.
"T-Tom. Tommy, she attacked me. I swear I was only trying to defend myself." She stuttered, her eyes wide, and her skin pale as a ghoul's.
"I've already told you to not use my name, stupid girl." Tom retorted harshly.
"You already know what happens next, Parkinson." He said, his eyes almost gleaming in the poorly lit room.
She let out a squeak, and shook visibly, as Tom spoke. I smirked at her as I flicked my wrist once more, this time chanting the spell I used on Tom. "dolorem maxime intolerabili dolore capitis illius digitos nec desistunt." I whispered, using her wand this time.
"Hope you enjoyed the show girls, because this isn't just a simple demonstration, next time I will do the same to you. Take her to the hospital wing. Not a word to anyone of what you just saw. Understood?" I said, watching them nodded their head rapidly as I made my way out of the common room and to the Great Hall for breakfast.
"I should probably follow them. I'll need to Obliviate them to ensure they don't squeal on us." Tom muttered quickly disappearing from the room in the direction that the girls had disappeared in.
I shook my head, knowing fully well that as soon as they lose physical contact with Parkinson, they'd lose any memories of the encounter.
I sat back down pulling out another book, and began reading as I waited for it to be breakfast time, and for more students to wake up so I didn't look too suspicious roaming the halls at an early hour.
I was one of the few people who were already there when people began to file into the Great Hall slowly. Bellatrix, Cissy, and Dromeda rushed in along with a few others before taking their usual seats, this time with me in the middle of them.
"You hexed Parkinson and I missed it?" She whisper-yelled, bouncing in her seat.
"She had it coming." I muttered, reading a random book I pulled from my bag.
"What did she do now?" Cissy asked, cautiously.
"She tried cornering me, insulted me by calling me a mudblood, and tried to hex me; then she lied about it to Tom, who had seen the whole thing play out." I explained in a low strainedvoice, so that only they could hear me.
"Oh, I wish I had been there. Did you use the same spell you used on Riddle the other night?" Bella asked, lowly, excitement radiating off of her in waves.
"Yes, I did. Only this time, I left it on her. She is in so much pain that she isn't conscious right now." I whispered, almost feeling bad. The key word beingalmost.
"I can't believe I missed that. Damn, I wish I could have seen her face. Is there anyway you could do it again? Maybe to someone else?" Bellatrix whispered letting out a disappointed groan, her brow furrowing as she tried to imagine it.
"Bella..." Andromeda chanted, rolling her eyes.
"I'll show you her face later, go to my room after dinner and I will. " I whispered to them.
I stared at her amused as I straightened and felt Tom sit next to us, along with the boys. My amusement grew when I saw his amused expression. He was probably still thinking of what happened yesterday, I didn't know he was a sadist, but I found it amusing.
"Riddle, do you know what happened to Parkinson? Bella, here, was just telling me that she was found unconscious in one of the corridors that lead to the Potions room. Is she alright?" I asked with fake concern, licking my lips.
He lips twitched, almost smirking at me in response, "Actually, from what I've been informed, she was found by her friends. Her friends can't remember anything about it though. Parkinson, herself hasn't been conscious, since who knows when." He replied, with fake concern.
"Interesting. Do they have any leads as to who could've possibly donethis?" I asked, scowling in fake concern.
"None, what's so ever. Apparently, they used her own wand to perform the spell. There is talk as to why she might have been attacked with her own wand, to say the least, but that's all I know and heard." He said shrugging indifferently, looking at the people around the room as if to speculate who it might've been.
I nodded, going back to eating my food and reading my book. Ignoring anything else that happened around the room.
All day today there was talk of what happened to Parkinson, even the teachers wouldn't stop talking about her. Most of the classes had us studying, or jotting down notesfor the day, the lesson plans written on the boards.
It was just after dinner, I was heading back to the library to switch a few of my books, I switched the books that I had of herbology for ones that I wanted for Potions, Slughorn had said we would be brewing something next week far more complicated than those we've done before.
So, I studied any possible complicated potions and tried to understand which potions were harder to brew.
I slid carefully into the restricted section and grabbed two books that I had been looking for. "Accio Time Control and Dark Arts: Most Dangerous Spells. Accio Deciphering the Dark Arts." I grabbed the books and slid them into my bag before going back and grabbing the Defense Against the Dark Arts: Advanced.
