'Hello everyone, today I must remind you that Capture the Flag is this Friday. Also, we all must welcome a new camper, Percy Jackson! Son of the amazing and beautiful me! Yay! Now go back to eating, you, a bunch of needy demigods!' my not-actually-dad said. He looked a bit drunk. I heard about the punishment because of Annabeth and figured that my dad must've helped with the alcohol a bit.

'I never saw dad so happy…' Castor said and shook his head. 'The Lord of the Sea must've helped a bit.'

I looked down at my plate. The blue cherry coke eased me a bit, giving a sense of familiarity.

'Hey, are you okay?' asked Castor looking at me. He had piercing violet eyes and it looked like they both were insane.

Castor and Pollux were twins, but you could see who is who easily. Castor was chubbier than Pollux, Pollux had longer hair and his hair had green and purple highlights all over the place. Castor also apparently loved eyeliner. Right now, he had "butterfly eyeliner" on his eyes, that Percy had to give him the credit, looked awesome.

'Y-yes, I am fine.' I spoke. 'Just feeling a bit out of place.'

'Hey man, don't be. I know that we're not biological brothers, but dad basically adopted you, so you're our brother too.'

I felt stunned. These two were completely strangers to me, but they already hugged me in their cabin, made the bed, welcomed me, and now said that I was their brother.

'T-thank you.' I said grateful. Pollux nodded.

'No Problem, man, we are here. You're lucky that dad is posing for you as dad.'

'How so?'

'Look, you are getting instantly claimed is a very rare occurrence. A lot of half-bloods get stuck with all the undetermined, in the Hermes cabin, never knowing who they are.'

He pointed at a really crowded cabin, and I felt sorry for the sad kids sitting there, imagining myself sitting there, with half of my butt hanging off.

'Do they not get angry? At the gods?' I asked

'Of they do, but do you have any idea what they could do? Absolutely nothing. They are the gods, all might and powerful. Some of them do have some compassion for us, mortals. Of course, we are not mortals, but to them we are.' Pollux sighed and Castor continued. 'Dad of all gods is a good dad. He lived with us and our mortal mother for the first 5 years, giving us a more or less normal childhood, after that he was needed at camp, but he always returned on Sundays, until we were ten, then he took us to camp.'

'You guys are year rounders?'

'No, but we go on the weekends to camp, but in summer we do stay here.'

I nodded, from what I heard of all other campers, Pollux' and Castor' lives seemed good. A dad, present, more or less. That was good. Suddenly I felt some sort of gratitude towards the god. Maybe all of this wasn't that bad.

Oh boy was I wrong.

'Castor! You have classes! Get up!' Pollux tried to force Castor to stand up, but the twin only dug himself in more blankets.

'No, I have the right to sleep!'

'No, you don't, it's not my fault someone stayed up reading Pride and Prejudice! Now get up, we have breakfast and then classes, you still have your knife throwing classes this morning. After that you have stretching and then magic. So absolutely no time for sleeping.'

Castor stood up grumping something about "unfair" and "why are there no reading classes."

'At least let me do my make-up.'

'Yes, yes, mister Beauty, go and get your face ready.' Smiled Pollux and clapped his hands.

'Percy, now you get up!', it didn't look like Percy was getting ready any day. 'Please, Pollux, I want to sleep. Just five minutes!'

'My ass, five minutes, you already said that 10 minutes ago! I already ate breakfast, had a run around the beach and had archery lessons. So, my dears, you guys are lazy!'

Pollux was weirdly happy about all of that and then proceeded to walk out of the cabin.

Castor was already doing his eyeliner. Today it resembled a bat' wings.

'Uhm… Castor, can you teach me?' Castor turned to Percy.

'The eyeliner?' Percy nodded and the boy smiled. 'Of course, now Pollux has two people who will annoy him with Beauty stuff. Seriously, he always jokes about how I could be an Aphrodite kid.'

Percy was at the campfire, near him was a little girl, tending the fire, she was wearing a veil, so Percy couldn't see her face. The scent of burned wood and surprisingly, his mother's chocolate chip cookies hit his nose as he inhaled. Suddenly she turned around and looked Percy in the eyes.

Her eyes were a fiery orange color, but then slowly shifted to his mother's color and Percy felt this weird feeling of comfort. As if all his fears melted away, and all the good memories came flooding in.

'What's your name?' she asked him.

'Percy Jackson, and yours?'

'Hestia.'

The girl was a bit unsettling, she kept ogling him, as if looking what to do with him. Her eyes reminded him of Annabeth, when she looked at you it looks like she is reasoning how to take you down, this girl had the same look, but instead of taking down it looked like she was finding ways to comfort him.

Then she smiled and he felt a really weird euphoria. 'My name is Hestia, do you know who Hestia is?'

'I-I am afraid I don't understand.'

The girl smiled and turned around to replace a piece of lumber in the fire.

'Everything is hoing to fine, child'

'She will be okay'

'W-what?'

She leaned in on the bench he was sitting on. 'Your mother will be okay.

The way she said it, as if it was a stoneset fact. Percy felt relief flooding his chest, a lump started forming in his throat and he felt that his eyes became wet. Then he broke down.

The girl grabbed his head and his it landed on her lap as she started stroking his hair. 'Don't worry little one, you'll be okay, it all will be okay.' He felt a bit embarrassed. This girl was probably 4 yours younger than him. Wait- what did she mean she looked into his past?

'Who-who are you?' he asked as she whipped a tear from his face with her thumb.

'My name is Hestia, and I am the goddess of the hearth.'
