CHAPTER 2

(TARA'S P.O.V)

I sat up in a sitting position, confused and scared by the blood curdling scream I was awoken to. I pushed my hair out of my face, as I glanced at my alarm clock on my right. Who the hell was screaming at 3am?, I asked myself, still trying to catch my bearings. "Tara baby something's going on outside!," My mother suddenly busted into my room. I quickly got out of bed, and withdrew my bedroom curtains to see dozens of children lingering on the streets with puzzled looks on their faces. "I woke up to hearing screaming, and confused kids all over the place," my mom explained, as I stared at her stupefied. What the hell was going on here?.

Just when I thought Bon Temp was becoming peaceful. I suddenly spotted Arlene's kids amongst the crowd both Lisa and Coby. They both hurried quickly through the crowds with a hypnotic expression on their faces, which seemed really weird to me. Without thinking, I ran past my mom, slipped on my slippers, and headed to the front door to stop them. Maybe they would be able to give me some insight on what was happening here. "Lisa! Coby!," I called out to them. They both glared back at me with irritation. I frowned at their alarming behavior. Arlene's kids were respectful, and happy go lucky children. Something was definitely wrong here… They suddenly turned back, and made a mad dash away from me.

I took off behind them, having no choice but to stop them. I chased them for about twenty minutes down the main road before they came to a stop. "He's close…" I heard Coby excitedly tell Lisa, while I took deep gasps to catch my breath. I glanced to my left to realize we had run all the way to Bill and Mario's house. The street in front of Bill and Mario's house were empty, as Lisa and Coby were walking in a circle, and continued gushing excitedly about "him", clearly under some sort of spell. Suddenly Bill appeared grabbing Lisa who began to scream and struggle. "Let me go Mario!," Coby screams and struggles in Mario's arms. "Calm down Coby," Mario hushes Coby who continues to struggle. "We just want to know why you're out this late." Mario tried to assure him.

"Liar!," Lisa screamed in anger. "You just want to stop us from finding him!." "Who is him?." Bill questioned Lisa. Before we could get a response, Lisa and Coby instantly stopped struggling and blinked a couple of times in confusion. "Bill?," Lisa said softly as she pulled out of Bill's arms in confusion. "Mario?," Coby frowned in confusion, as he stared up at Mario who released him. "Why are we out here?," Coby questioned again. None of us adults gave a response. Instead Bill, Mario, and I stared at one another in total fear and bewilderment.
