CHAPTER 5
(MARIO'S P.O.V)
With a smile on my face I calmly revealed a royal flush hand, as Jessica and Bill who sat opposite of me groaned in defeat. "This is like the third time," Jessica complained, as I leaned forward, and embraced my poker chips, and pulled them in my direction. "Don't hate the player, hate the game." I joked. It was 12:20 am while Bill, Jessica and I decided to play poke at Bill's house. Bill suddenly pushed forward the rest of his poker chips towards me. "All or nothing." Bill challenged me. "Fine. I'll take all your money." I grinned, challenging him as well. "Well I'm out," Jessica spoke up, as she stood up. "Bill i'm going go get us some drinks. Mario." she turned to me. "Beer?." "Sure thanks," I responded, leaning back in my chair. As Jessica left, I heard Bill's cell phone ring. "Excuse me," Bill said to me while he stood up and left the room. I casually glanced out the window to spot Emma (Luna Garza's daughter) wandering up and down the street.
I slowly got up and sauntered to the window. I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was real. "Bill! Jessica!," I suddenly hollered in a panic. "What's wrong?," Jessica asked alongside Bill. Both appeared in an instant using their vampiric agility. "Emma!," I pointed out the window, as I stared at them. "Emma where?," Jessica asked in confusion. I turned to see an empty street. "She was just right there," I said, sprinting to the door. I sprinted across the lawn, and stopped at the edge of Bill's lawn in disbelief. In front of me stood several dozen children in a daze wandering the street. Bill appeared and stood in front of a random child. "Why are you out here at this hour?." "I'm out here to see him." the young man curtly responded that looked around the age of twelve. The young man then snatched his right arm away from Bill, and continued to follow the other kids.
"What the fuck?!," Jessica appeared next to Bill, as Bill and I heard the panic in her voice. "Since when does glamouring not work on kids?." Before Bill and I could respond, a yellow Honda Civic suddenly appeared screeching to a halt, as Sookie hopped out. "Sookie, what are you doing here?," Bill questioned in genuine surprise. "Luna showed up crying and hysterical 'cause Emma is missing." Sookie explained while doing a slow three sixty degrees as she stared at the children who were in a daze. "Mario spotted her, and that's why we're out here," Bill explained. "Do you hear that?," a random young girl said to all of us. "He's playing wonderful music." Sookie, Bill, Jessica and myself stared at each other in confusion, as we could hear Luna crying in the car, while Tara comforted her. At this point we needed a supernatural intervention to deal with this. We were going in circles, while the children of Bon Temp were in danger. "I know who's causing this," Sterling Norris (Trueblood's mayor in the canon series) suddenly appeared and explained.
"He has a score to settle, and it is to see the destruction of Bon Temp…"
