Percy Jackson

Percy watched as the guard to his cell fiddled around with the key. He was hiding in a darker part of his cell, out of sight of the guard. He steadied his breathing, making as little noise as possible. He had a plan for escaping, and it required stealth and planning.

As Percy stayed in the cell, he quickly learned there were some security flaws. Very serious security flaws. The main flaw was letting him keep Riptide. He tried using Riptide to cut through the door but the metal was too thick, so he gave up on that. That was when he noticed a smaller flaw, the cell had no lights, which meant they had no way of knowing he was still in there unless they opened the door or he responded to their calls.

Percy's plan was simple. When the guard came to check on him, he'd act like he wasn't there. The guard would open the door and that's when Percy would jump out and try to make his great escape by fighting his way out. He didn't account for anything else and he knew this plan was horrible, but it was all he had.

"Jackson, if you're in here, I swear I'm going to fucking hurt you." The guard said as he opened the door, "Respond!" The guard had called for him but he didn't respond.

Percy silently crawled to one of the corners near the door. He need to be quick if he was going to make his escape.

The door opened, flooding the room with light. The guard walked in, his hand on his sword which hung by his side. He looked around for Percy, only for his eyes to widen when the son of Poseidon leapt out of the darkness and sucker punched him.

Percy took great delight in being able to knock the guard out with one punch. If the guard had managed to counter him, it could lead to other guards coming in during their fight. He needed every second he could get.

He ran out the cell and looked around. He was in some sort of airlock, like a room that led to his cell through one door and another door that led to the rest of the prison. He ran through the other door, which led to a hallway. Whoever designed the prison must've liked underground dungeons since the tunnel looked like it was made by dwarves, not people.

Percy ran down the hall, the air roaring past his ears. His heart pounded in his chest, there was no turning back now. He needed to find the exit and fast, if any guard saw him out his cell, they'd raise the alarm.

The hallway split into left and right, Percy was stuck trying to figure out which way to take. After playing eeny, meeny, miny, moe, he chose the right hallway. If he had a map of the prison, he'd be golden but of course, he didn't have one.

Percy felt a bit terrified when he ran down the hall and found himself at the beginning of a hallway with doors on either side. He had a feeling there were guards behind those doors. Regardless, he steeled himself and kept running.

One of the doors opened and two guards stepped out. They turned and looked down the hall.

"Hey!" One of them yelled.

The other ran to the door and opened it, "The prisoner is escaping!"

Percy put full effort into his sprint, he needed to leave now. He made twists and turns to try to throw off his pursuers, but he knew it was only a matter of time before they caught him. They knew this place better than he did.

Percy nearly cried when he found two double doors at the end of the hallway with a large red exit sign above it. He nearly skipped his way over there and almost crashed into the doors. When he threw them open, sunlight shined in, nearly blinding him.

The smell of trees and grass filled his nostrils. The sun was warm on his skin. He could feel a breeze coming in. He had found his way to freedom, and he was going to take it.

"Percy!" He heard someone yell from behind him.

He turned to find Annabeth sprinting down the hall towards him. He was amazed by how fast she could run in armor. He shook his head, he had no time to be admiring Annabeth's ability. He turned and ran out the doors and into the outdoors.

He made his way towards the thick forests, which were about a few yards away from where the doors were. If he managed to make it to the forest, he'd be safe and sound, there'd be no way anyone could find him then.

He sprinted towards the forest, his lungs and legs working at their maximum as he charged to freedom. He was just about to make it when he heard a thump sound, and something hit him.

At first, he didn't know what happened. He felt a pinching sensation on his back, but it wasn't anything too painful. Then his body stopped working. His legs seemed to lock up, causing him to fall on his face onto the dirt and grass below. His arms refused to push hid body up. He couldn't feel any of his limbs.

He heard someone walk near him. He felt a sandal kick his side and roll him over. His heart dropped when he found himself looking up at Annabeth, a hunting rifle in her hands. She loaded what looked like a dart into the rifle.

"You didn't think I'd let you get away that easily, would you?" She asked him.

His mouth didn't open. It seemed he was paralyzed completely. He tried moving his fingers, but they wouldn't obey him.

Annabeth turned to the guards who had come out of the prison by now, "Take him back to his cell. I don't want anyone opening his cell for the rest of the day."

Annabeth Chase

Annabeth sighed as she braced herself outside the throne room. She didn't want to tell Kronos about Percy's attempted escape since it would make her look bad, but she knew it would be worse for her if she tried to cover it up.

She raised her fist and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" The Titan's voice called.

Annabeth pushed open the door and walked in, coming to a stop in front of the Titan lord and kneeling. She felt the Titan stare at her and to be honest, it made her very uncomfortable.

"Rise." He said.

Annabeth stood slowly, "I have news on Percy."

"Has he asked to join?" Kronos asked, his golden eyes staring holes into her gray ones.

"No." She said while looking down, "He tried to escape."

Kronos sighed and got up from his throne. He walked around the throne room, then in a circle around Annabeth. The daughter of Athena continued staring at the floor, she was embarrassed. She made a mental note to go torture Percy for making her look stupid.

"You're failing in your duties, Annabeth." Kronos said, "First, you failed to guard him. Secondly, it sounds like you've made no progress in converting him. Now I'm starting to question whether it's because you can't or because you won't."

"My lord?" She asked.

"Perhaps you don't want to convert him. Maybe you plan on setting him free at the opportune moment so you could usurp me." Kronos mused.

"I promise that's not at all what I'm trying to do!" She said quickly.

Kronos laid his hands on her shoulders, "Then get out of my sight and go convert him. I'd hate to have to punish you."

Annabeth nodded and quickly made her way out of the throne room.
