Nagisa looked out at the American Football Stadium and saw that it was filled with Servicemen and women from Japan's Self Defense force and servicemen and women of the United States armed forces. Behind him stood Kaede Kayano, Megu Kataoka, Yuma Isogai, Hiroto Maehara, and Karma Akabane. Soon a man in a Japanese Self Defense Force Uniform and a man in a United States Marine Dress uniform walked up to them and the man in the Japanese Self Defense Force Uniform spoke first and he said, "I appreciate you kids Volunteering for this event, shows how far we've come in cooperation."
"Don't mention it Captain Itami, we're happy to do this." Said Nagisa. (A.N.: Possible crossover in the future?) Then the American spoke and he said, "So have you kids decided on what Song you plan on singing?" and Kayano said, "Well Lieutenant Wyengar, we decided as a group to sing Proud to be an American." Lieutenant Wyengar smiled and said, "Excellent choice, and it looks like you're on." Nagisa nodded his head and said to his friends, "Let's go."
As they walked to the center of the field, the announcer said, "We have today six teenagers from Japan that will be singing a Song to honor our Nation's troops, as a sign of cooperation between the United States and the Nation of Japan. Ladies and Gentlemen, Nagisa Shiota, Kaede Kayano, Megu Kataoka, Yuma Isogai, Hiroto Maehara, and Karma Akabane." As the entire Stadium clapped in applause, Nagisa, Kayano, Isogai, Kataoka, Maehara, and Karma saw the rest of their classmates in the stands nearby. Soon the music of the song they were going to sing Started and Nagisa led them off.
Nagisa: "If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife." Soon Karma and Isogai joined in.
Nagisa, Karma, and Isogai: "I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away." Now all six of them were singing
All six: "And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A." The next verse was again led off by Nagisa.
Nagisa: "From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea." Then Kayano and Kataoka joined him this time.
Nagisa, Kayano, and Kataoka: "From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where's there pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say" Then the three other boys joined in
All six: "That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A."
They held the A for a while before saying the verse over again as the service men and women from both nations began to clap.
All six: "And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up, next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A."
Soon the entire Stadium was in an uproar of Applause and Cheers as they bowed and left the center of the field back to Captain Itami and Lieutenant Wyengar and Lieutenant Wyengar looked like he was crying. Lieutenant Wyengar then said, "That was amazing kids, you six did an amazing Job." Nagisa smiled and thanked Lieutenant Wyengar.
