#93: Advice from Aaron
In an office at school...
Hey, everyone. I'm doing something that I thought would be good for everyone. I'm doing a business where i give free advice to people who need to talk about something or get something off their chest.
I'm sitting at a desk talking to a guy who did something that he thought was funny, but it only got him in trouble.
"Stuff like that might be funny, but you just need to understand that there's things called 'time' and 'place'. You get those under control, and you might not get in trouble next time. Cupcake?" I said, gesturing to the plate of cupcakes to my right on my desk. He took one, thanked me, and left.
In came the next person, who happened to be Carol Ferris.
"Hey, Carol, take a seat. What's up?"
At this point, I zoned out. All she did was talk about Hal, like she always does. How he shouldn't have broken up with her, and so on. Okay, time to say something.
"And another thing-" "OKAY, Carol, I get it. I get that you're upset that he broke up with you, but you don't see why he broke up with you. He said himself that you were too clingy and that he needed space." "Hey, I'm not clingy!"
I raised one eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?"
"Of course, I am!" "*sighs* Look, Carol, I want you to think long and hard about this and think of anything to back you up on it; are you positive that this relationship with Hal was working well?"
She was about to say something, but nothing came out.
I knew it.
"Now you get it. Things don't work out if you don't give your partner what they need from you." "..." "You need to focus on what they want instead of what you want. Instead of trying to make them happy with you, you need to focus on trying to make them happy.
Think back again; is there anything at all that Hal wanted that you weren't letting him have?"
In a second, she started to cry. "*sniffs*A little time apart..." "There you go. Hal wanted a little space, but since you weren't giving it to him..." "He broke up with me..."
She then broke down crying. I reached into my bag and pulled out a handkerchief and gave it to her. When she was finished, I took it back.
"It's okay Carol, you just need to remember that other people have needs and wants. Maybe you should actually give Hal the space he wants and try to take your mind off him." "...Okay." "Here, have a cupcake."
She took one, got up, and left the room saying, "Thank you."
In came my next- Pam? Why is she here?
"Hey Pam. What can I do for you?" She took her seat. "Can you promise me that you didn't tell anyone about this?" "It's their decision if they want to tell them about what happens. But if they want, what happens in this room, will stay in this room. Now then, what do you need to talk about?"
She breathed in, then out.
"There's this guy that I like..."
"Oh?"
"...We were, acquaintances at first, then we were enemies. Later on, I found that he's dating some girl then I think why on earth he could be dating her. When I thought about that, I was thinking about...what an amazing person he is...and now, I don't know what to do."
"So, to sum it up: you've been enemies with this guy, he now has a girlfriend, you thought back and realized how much of great guy he is, and now you realize that you like him, but feel like you missed chances?"
"Mhm. What should I do? If I do something wrong, I'll only mess something up."
This sounds like a tough one. Key words: 'sounds like'.
"Well, what's this guy like? I need to know to get a better picture."
"Uh, well...he's smart, quick thinking, strong in more ways than one,"
"Look Pam, I'm flattered-" "It's not you!"
"Oh. Well, if he's a guy that's like me, then the first thing you need to do is something big, and I mean really big, that can get his trust in you. After that, with his girlfriend, tell him how you feel, but be specific with it so that she doesn't get any wrong ideas. Two things will happen. One: he says that he won't like you that way. Two: he tries to think of a way so that no one gets their heart broken."
"...Aaron that's a terrible idea. It'll never work." "How do you know? You've never tried."
And like that, she couldn't say anything. Man, people are always quiet when I'm right.
"Want a cupca- Oh, you're going. Have a nice day!"
#94: Tech and the Titans
On a different day, in the late evening, at Wayne Manor East...
Techno walking into the manor with a present under his arm. He's here because today's a birthday of a boy he knows and has saved, scolded, messed with, and 'worked with' in one week in Gotham City alone. Jessica and Karen were already here, they were supposed to be watching over him and his friends for the day
But looking around and noticing the huge mess the manor was, they're not doing a good job.
"*sighs then rolls eyes* Well, now I know that Dick's whole team is here. Speaking of which, where is everyone?"
The Glitch King heard commotion in the next room and went inside and saw was something you'd have to see to believe.
Would someone believe you if you said that you saw five superpowered children making a mess of a mansion while your friend and girlfriend were tied up and hanging over a pit because of them?
Yeah, me neither.
A loud whistle caught everyone's attention making everyone stop what they were doing and look at Techno. "Can someone tell me what the glitch is going on here?"
In a second, he was dogpiled by three out of the five kids. Not in an ambush way, like a excited way.
Tech laughed as he sat up after he was knocked on the floor. "Hey, Cy, Star, Beasty. Did you guys have to knock me to the floor?"
He got up and picked his gift back up as Beast Boy got on his back. He then saw another one of the kids approaching, but not coming over to hug him.
"What? No hug, Rae?" "In Azarath, there's no signs of affection besides-" "Well, this isn't Azarath, is it? C'mere!"
He dropped his gift and pulled Raven into a hug. "Please let me go." She said, blushing with embarrassment that we can't see due to the darkness of her cloak's hood. "But I have you guys in a while! This hug is well deserved!"
After a few more seconds, he let go and his attention turned to the leader of the of the five.
"*smirks and goes to him* Yo, Traffic Light! How you been?"
The rest of the Tween Titans laughed at that.
"I told you not to call me names anymore!" Robin said as Tech held him in a hold and ruffled his hair. "I'll do that the second you stop wearing red, green, and yellow or start acting like a real hero." "I am a real hero!" "Uh huh, and I'm the next Green Lantern."
He let go of Robin and made his clones, Silver and Gold, appear and get his friend and girlfriend down and clean the mess.
He made Bronze appear and take back the present that Starfire was trying to open but couldn't.
"You know these kids?" Karen asked as she got on the floor and was given her amulet back by Silver. "Yep. A while back, Boy Slumber over here-" "THAT'S NOT MY NAME!" "-made his own (with air quotes)'hero team'. I just ran into him when I was in Gotham for a week. I started calling him names to mess with him, (to said tween) right, Slobin?"
"*groans* Why are you even here?" "Uh, it's your birthday? What, you thought I'd forget? I would've come earlier if I knew how much trouble you guys were giving Jess and K. (to the girls) You two alright?"
"We are now. Thanks." Said Jess as Silver gave her ring back. All the clones then disappeared.
"Stop talking! What's in the box!?" "Keep your nonexistent shirt on, Cy. (to Robin) Here you go, Shortstack."
Robin snatched the box from Techno and excitedly tried ripping it open but couldn't. "Oh, right. You open it from the bottom." Robin did that and out from the box fell ten canisters and a sci-fi eyepiece.
"What's this supposed to be?" "Put the eyepiece on." Robin did that. "Okay, now think of anything at all. A vehicle, animal, machine, anything."
Robin thought of something, and the canisters rattled and shook. Suddenly, small pieces of all colors flew out of them and reformed into the first thing that Robin thought of, which was a green, red, and yellow motorcycle, which surprised everyone.
"Okay, now try something else."
You didn't have to tell him twice. By thinking of what to make, Robin changed the pieces into all kinds of stuff: A falcon, a car, a Space Invader spaceship, a bullet train, and a dragon that he happily rode on.
"I call them Think Bricks. Something tells me that you like it." Tech said as the dragon came in for a landing. "Hmm, I guess it's alright." Boy Wonder said, trying to act cool.
"I wanna turn!" said Cyborg, trying to get the eyepiece. One by one the Titans all tried to have a turn with Robin's new toy.
Techno rolled his eyes and sent energy to the floor, zapping the tweens and making them pass out. When Robin passed out, the Think Bricks fell apart into a pile on the ground.
Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum picked up a Titan, glitched them into their normal looks, in their sleepwear, and carried them away towards Dick's room. Techno picked up Robin and took the eyepiece and used it to put the pieces back in the canisters.
"Why don't you two head in for the day. I'm sure you had a long one." he said.
"Whoa, I didn't know that you were so good with kids, Aaron." said Jessica. "Well, Jess, it's easy when you know what kind of kids you're dealing with. Who knows, I might get kids of my own someday. *winks at Karen*"
Karen blushed and covered her face with her hands.
Tech glitched Robin back to Dick Grayson in his P.J.s and said, "I'm gonna take him to bed then head out. I'll see you guys later."
Tech then left to take Dick to his room. He smirked along the way.
"Happy birthday, dude."
These last two are just for filler.
This one's shorter than the other and doesn't have much of a rhyme or reason.
#95: Gadget crafting
In the hideout...
Hey guys.
Babs and I are working on new stuff for her to use. Right now, I'm making her a remote control Batarang. She just has to think about where she wants it to go to get a hit at something that's on the other side of something.
"And, done!" "Ooh, let's test it!" "Okay, put your cowl on."
She did that and I gave her the Batarang. She then threw it.
"With your cowl, you can now see what's in front of the Batarang to control it better. In the air it can turn, speed up, slow down, and make U-turns. If it goes too far, it'll stop midair and fall to the ground. Try it."
Just by thinking she did everything I listed. In the air it looped around, sped up, and when it came to a wall, she slowed it down and made it turn around.
We then high fived.
The gadget that Babs was working on was called a line launcher. It was something she could use to get across wide gaps.
"Finished! Now, let's see if it works."
Babs held it in her hand above her head, pushed the button on the handle, and the launcher shot a line at the wall in front of her, and the wall behind her. She used the launcher and it traversed her along the line forward, then backward. She then swung herself upwards and she was now on the line.
I got on it myself, and we high fived again.
"Wow, you were right. This thing can carry a lot of weight." "Babs, how many times have I told you girls to stop doubting me?"
#96: Comfort-ation
On a random day at Metropolis High...
We see Aaron waiting outside to walk Karen home.
Today was test day he was in a good mood because of two reasons. One: He can tell that he passed all his tests. Two: He can tell that some of his teachers and classmates thought that he was cheating, and could tell that in a few minutes, they'll realize that they were wrong and will figuratively slap themselves for even thinking that.
Karen just came outside...not looking like herself. She looks exhausted. Like, really exhausted.
"Woah, you alright, K?" "(tired tone)No...I've been up all night, studying...The tests were still hard. I really hope I passed..."
Aaron put his arm around her and walked down the street.
A couple minutes later...
"Wait, I thought we were going to my house...?" "Nope*pop*"
Instead of taking Karen to her place, he brought her to his place.
When he brought her inside, he guided her to the couch and sat her down. He went into his kitchen and two seconds later, he came back in with a drink in one hand .
"Here, drink this. *gives her the drink*"
She drank it and she smiled.
He then went upstairs to get something else.
*BOOM! CLAP!*
That's the sound of thunder and lightning.
"Aw man..." Karen said, knowing that she couldn't head home with in a thunderstorm.
Aaron came back downstairs with a blanket over one of his arms, and his phone up to his ear in his other hand.
"Don't worry, you know you can trust me. Okay, bye Mrs. Beecher." He sat down on the couch and said to his girlfriend, "I called your mom and told her that you were here and was okay, but a little tired. *puts blanket around himself and her* You might have to stay here until the storm stops."
Karen smiled again and leaned onto Aaron, causing him to kiss her forehead.
"I don't know what those other girls were thinking. You're too great to break up with." "I know, you remind me all the time."
