Over the course of the next several days the Reds, Blues, The Freelancers, The Surviving members of Chorus all testify against Charon. Even the pirates who surrendered testified against their employer once they were offered deals of a slightly shorter sentence. Charon went to prison for life and the people of Chorus started to rebuild. As The UNSC came down to aid the people, they also had a little over ten thousand new prisoners to take care of. With location of the GATE being made aware to everyone, the UNSC and people of Chorus seized control from their side as they plan on what to do next. This the story of the how the Reds and Blues went through the Gate to another world.
[Armonia Exterior Grounds]
At the moment the grounds outside the city were used to house the several thousand prisoners from the GATE. A permanent facility was being built to hold this many people on Chorus, considering the size it was not going to be small. They were fed, given sleeping bags and watched over constantly by several guards that kept them enclosed behind an electrified fence.
With no more opposition Tucker and Church sent out their message to every device in the galaxy. Pretty unnecessary but still very satisfying to do, just the final nail to ensure that Chairman Hargrove will never escape his coffin. Now everyone knew of his crimes and that he would never get bail or have anyone backing his corner. His bank accounts were empty to assist with the rebuilding of Chorus for the most part.
Tucker and Carolina were walking along the perimeter of the fence taking about the prisoners with newly appointed President of Chorus, Vanessa Kimball. Tucker spoke up first, "So, what's gonna happen to our friends?"
"From what Santa translated, they were here to pillage, invade, rape, conquer. Most were here for the honor or orders they wouldn't be able to refuse. For the scumbags we'll keep them here for awhile, for the good ones we're going to arrange for someway to get them through the GATE. Once of course the UNSC clears some things up." Kimball stated.
"Seems fair to me, anyone else disagree?" Epsilon asked.
"Definitely seems more than fair, but there's not much we can do?" Carolina stated.
Tucker shook his head, "How do some good men get lumped in with people like that?"
"Considering their armor and weaponry, they obviously come from a less than civilized era. So that explains that. Doesn't excuse them, but it'll make convicting and pardoning a few more easier." Epsilon added.
Kimball nodded until she turned her head to incoming UNSC man coming their way, "Heads up, we got company."
The UNSC personnel was one man, his armor had police colors as he stepped forward to reintroduce himself, "Levernius Tucker, President Kimball, Agent Carolina, Epsilon. I'm Sergeant Jeffers, of the UNSC police force division."
"What can we do for you?" Carolina asked.
The Sergeant put his badge away, "First of all I would like to say on behalf of the UNSC, thank you for helping us bring in Hargrove for the crimes he has committed. As well as I must commend you all on your bravery and sacrifice in the matter."
"Thank you." Kimball shook the detectives hand as he finished his greeting.
"Next I was hoping to speak with Levernius Tucker."
"Me? Why?" Tucker felt uneasy as Carolina clutched his shoulder in support.
"What's this in regards to?" Church questioned.
"The leading officer in charge of the Imperial Army from another world, wishes to speak with him. Perhaps you remember him, he has a key very similar to Tucker's linked to him?"
Tucker nodded, "He wants to see me? What for?"
"He didn't say, or if he did we didn't understand it. No doubt you noticed the language barrier we are having?"
"Church think you can translate for us?" Tucker quizzed his friend.
Church appeared looking at Tucker, "Maybe... but I'm gonna need someone who knows the language better so I can download it."
"You mean... alright." Tucker agreed, "Is it okay if he stays with me for awhile?"
Carolina nodded, "Just make sure he comes back."
"Alright we'll just take a quick stop to him and then meet up with that other guy, sound good?" Epsilon checked with detective.
"Sounds very good sir, I'll wait right here." The detective stayed at his spot for the next person.
After a Trip to "Santa", a Brief Download and Back
Tucker and Church followed the detective into a temporary facility that they were using to interrogate some of the prisoners. Passing by so of the doors leading to different rooms he saw all types of officers performing different tactics for getting people to talk. Strange enough he noticed some of the people under questioning weren't human. Some resembled lycans, goblins, ogres and so forth.
Tucker was lead to a room where two guards with machine guns stood on each side of the door. After being cleared for entrance and searched for weapons, aside from his relic key, he entered the room to meet the knight who save him.
As soon as the door opened Tucker saw Roland stand up and bow to him, with one arm against his chest. The ancient warrior smiled brightly as he pulled open a chair for Tucker across from his in the interrogation room. As Tucker sat Roland continued smiling, meeting another who was worthy of the Key such as he.
Removing his helmet Tuckers face was a dark color, with beautiful teal blue eyes. He had a goatee with fuzzy kept hair that stayed up straight. He was, by several women's standard very good looking.
The ancient knight held himself upright and stood slightly taller than Tucker with his shoulders being a tad bit wider. His muscles were enlarged, his face was chiseled and handsome in some aspects. His eyes were green, skin a peach tone, hair was dark brown and wavy, finally he had a thin moustache and sliver of beard hair. Roland spoke with a smile as his hand movements resembled the battle between Tucker and Felix.
Church started translating, "Okay, so he just complimented you on handing Felix his ass. Which I have the fight recorded so you can watch it later."
"Tell him thanks, but let's start with names first... I'm Tucker... and you are?"
"Tucker, speaking slower isn't going to help." With a sigh Church started translating, surprisingly the little floating man was completely normal, he figured Church was a fairy, a sprite or something along those lines, "Okay wow, Tucker we have the pleasure of speaking to Lord Roland, cousin to the rightful ruler of Italica, and Countess of Formar, Myui."
"Holy shit!" Tucker gasped in shock, "Okay... um, well we know why they came here. What do you think we should do?"
"I'm curious about that sword, let alone how they achieved what can either be time travel or interdimensional travel and what it's like on the other side."
"Let's start with one at a time. Ask him about the other side."
Church asked him about it, and it took a minute as Roland illustrated a beautiful picture of vast green fields, rolling mountains and clear blue sky. The skies unpolluted by gas and smog conditions, the roads only paved with either dirt and stone bricks instead of concrete and cement. Civilization differencing between large kingdoms to villages, the people of different races and species living there despite the rough history between the two.
"So far I got nothing that would indicate any form of advanced alien technology."
"Try asking about the sword."
Church repeated the question and saw Roland's face lit up, his mouth moved and gave Church a very similar story, "So he was venturing in the jungle running away from a monster and fell into a cave where he discovered an ancient alien temple and the sword was the only thing he discovered. Sound familiar?"
"Yeah, scary familiar. Now comes the question everyone is waiting for." Tucker nodded for Church to start his final questioning.
Church spoke the language and waited for a response, once Roland finished speaking his face went from smiling genuinely to looking confused. Church turned back to Tucker, "All he's saying is...The GATE."
"Huh? What Gate?"
The Temple Of The GATE
"Oh. That GATE." Tucker answered himself.
The Temple was a built into a large cave as the alien structures kept the rock from caving into the opening. The mouth was wide enough to fly two Pelicans side by side into it. Despite all the alien technology in the place the Gate resembled an old earth type structure.
Science teams led by Doctor Emily Grey had several types of scanning equipment going around get measurements of everything. Guards under Sergeant Jeffers orders with permission of Kimball watched over the entrance with guard towers, high powered sniper rifles and heavy machine guns with sandbags. If anyone else came through the GATE they wouldn't stand much of a chance.
Church went back to Carolina leaving Tucker with Doctor Grey to aid in her research with the guidance of Santa. He felt as though he was much help as before with the first temple, he was only the key holder.
"Wonder if Church feels like he's on the sidelines?"
Aboard The UNSC ship Gaia
Church was in the background as he, Detective Jeffers, President Kimball, Agent Carolina and Washington both rode the elevator discussing their next step. The next step about the GATE given the location and the fact it doesn't seem to disappearing. The matter of entering or destroying it was on the table, but it wasn't in their hands.
Once the main people made their way to a conference room they immediately began the discussions. Just knowing the fact of the Gate's existence peaked an interest in the UNSC but the fact it was on Chorus meant that they would need permission to set up shop. They were willing to make a deal in order to get what they wanted but would respect the decision if they turned them down.
The Detective explained the situation, "Madam President Kimball, I must advise you that when it comes to the GATE you have full control of the matter on what's to come next. However before you turn them down I must also let you know they are willing to give you anything and everything within their power to be allowed to do anything further."
"Well, I would just like to make it clear I have no intention of destroying one of the temples of this planet. However I want to work with the UNSC and not be left out, also I want them to only focus on the GATE, nothing else." Kimball demanded.
The detective nodded at the President's orders, "I can't say for sure, I'm just a detective. But they should follow those requests."
"I also would like them to help rebuild Chorus. It would be shown as a sign that we can become part of something bigger again and join the UNSC in peace." Kimball requested.
The detective jotted that down with nod, "Anything else, no matter how small or minute it may be."
"Well the Reds and Blues had some requests they jotted down." Washington slid a crumbled piece of paper over to the Detective, "Other than those, which you have the choice to overlook we should be good."
"Actually... not yet..." Carolina paused the negotiations, "Do you think the UNSC would be able to spare some LMDs?"
"I don't see why not?" The detective added that, along with the piece of paper he was handed over to his notes.
Church materialized in front of her, "Carolina what do you need a life model decoy for?"
"It's not for me... it's for you?"
The room became silent as the two looked at each other with the love that only true family would share. The silence proved too much for everyone in the room as they stood up to leave, "We'll just be out here." Kimball and the detective left the room.
"You too Wash." Carolina added as her partner hesitated for a moment, then listened to her as he left the room.
Church only looked at her with a bewildered look, "What? Why?"
"Church if what you and... Sharkface said was true, then I want you to enjoy whatever time you have left. As your own person."
"Carolina look at me, it's because of you guys that I am my own person. I let these memories take form. I finally had my freedom, my voice... in time I made my own memories. Carolina I'm... fine."
"Church... I want you to live the rest of your time free. Live with your friends, with us. Stand next to us, please."
"What about you, you need me to run the suit."
"I'll take it easy."
"...Let the record show, I call bullshit."
"I know... so, are you up for it?"
"..."
Dr Emily Grey's Operating Room
The Reds, Blues and Freelancers stared from the observation room worried for their friend going through the procedure. Caboose kept his eyes closed with his hands, letting his eyes peek through his hands on purpose. A crunching sound made everyone look to the side to see Grif eating popcorn, another handful went into his mouth as he looked back at the gawking group.
Ignoring that Doctor Grey began the procedure as she transferred the artificial intelligence from the helmet of Carolina into the human like machine. The design was made to Church's exact specifications, average build, tanned skin, sideburns, average length black hair, electric blue eyes. Once he was in his new body, the procedure began and Grey got into her zone.
Everyone braced each other for the next tense ours as Grey typed into a computer to ensure that everything would be fine in the brain. Eventually the suspense proved to much to watch that they all waited outside for the procedure to end. The waiting room got really quiet as no one knew what to say, all they did was hope for the best.
Hours had gone by as the sun set a while ago and was replaced with a beautiful night sky covering them. They all eventually fell asleep together leaning against one another for comfort with Caboose in the middle pile. It was then that Dr. Grey had come out to awaken him.
Dr Emily Grey shook them up, "Hey, he pulled through. He's okay."
"What?! Can I see him?" Caboose asked.
Emily sighed as she turned around and in a half hearted voice shouted into the room, "It's... ALIVE!"
Church rolled out of the operating room in a wheelchair as he stopped to stand and give a Frankenstein walk to his friends. They started laughing until he fell face first, "I'm okay, new legs and all."
Everyone cheered as they picked him up and hugged him nice and tight, cheering their new human friend. Crying tears of joy as he felt their warm emotions and they felt his body.
Days Later
The Reds, Blues, The Freelancers, as well as all the inhabitants of Chorus were being celebrated for bringing down Hargrove and adverting a possible crisis. They were awarded medals as they dressed in formal wear, official UNSC military uniforms. All had smiles as they couldn't hold back from being admired.
Finally looking each other face to face instead of golden visor to golden visor, they were able to finally see each other. Donut had a feminine face but was still male, there was a burn mark on the side of his head when he was blown up by a grenade. Hair blond with rich green eyes.
Lopez had a metal face but they added a features to an LMD head that Grey customized for him. The face was tanned with a handle bar mustache that curled at the ends, black hair and Antonio Banderas features. (Yes Lopez is an Antonio Banderas type, deal with it.)
Doc had thick locks of brown hair falling onto his face that was covered with glasses in front of hazel coloured eyes. His face was slim but well kept as his facial showed no sign of growing back.
Sarge was an older man who had definitely seen battle as the scar on his cheek and the one on his head were apparent. Hair grew and kept in a crew cut that stood straight up. Square jaw, five o'clock shadow visible and brown eyes on a wrinkling face of a forty year old fighter.
Grif was chubby and large in size and width, his face was chubby with facial hair in unkept in years as it grew as a messy beard, moustache and sideburns. Crazy dark brown hair on a browned face with brown pupils.
Simmons was thin and just as tall as his friend, with obvious robots, his hand and part of his face which had tanned alongside with Grif's own skin. The pale spot is still visible in Grif's hand and face but if you weren't looking too close you would not notice. His skin was pale and freckled, eye was green while his cyborg one was a red dot. Reddish brown hair on top in a well combed look.
Caboose was massive with muscles, his suit looked like it was gonna burst at any second and the buttons were gonna poke someone in the eye. Blue eyes with a lighty tanned skin and a dirty blonde mop on his head, his muscles were matched with his cute face.
Finally Washington was a pale man with a few scars on his face, greyish eyes and a average build. His hair was blonde at the top with dark shaved sides, similar to his armor scheme.
Once their medals were awarded Kimball went onto the stage and smiled as several cameras focused in on her. She cleared her throat and prepared to give her speech, "It is with great honor that I award these medals to several brave young men and women who gave their so much for their home. To our friends and heroes who came to our aid, even when they had no reason to. It is because of them that we stand here to celebrate each other and our victory."
The Reds and Blues turned to each other smiling and patting each other on the back, even the new Church joined them in his uniform. Kimball turned back to the group that saved them, receiving a thumbs up she proceeded, "And it is some of these brave men and women who will lead and join the UNSC in discovering the new world beyond the GATE."
All the smiles stayed as they couldn't exactly move because the news had came as such a shock to them that it literally made them freeze. Did Vanessa Kimball really just volunteer them to go into the other world first, without telling them beforehand?
"This land does not show on any map, and the people there are still our neighbors, so it is our job. Along with our honor to introduce ourselves and become allies with these people no matter what. Our goals are strictly peaceful but we must be prepared for anything."
As the cheers continued the frozen crew barely blinked as their frozen faces turned to Kimball. The idea of an early assassination looking like a great idea at the moment. As their smiles stayed, but their eyes all read, "What the FUCK?!"
"What the FUCK Kimball?!" Wash screamed.
Kimball pinched her nose, "Before you start."
"I mean Jesus Christ!" Simmons shouted placing his hands on his head.
"Okay... before... you... START!"
"Holy SHIT!" Grif exclaimed.
"Would you care for me to explain?"
"Yes Kimball I would to hear why you sold us like cattle for another possible god damn war!" Church yelled.
"...Your actions haven't just caught the attention of the UNSC. But everyone who heard your stories." Kimball whistled and a few troops brought in carts full of letters and packages, "They few you as heroes, so the UNSC thought it'd be best to use your faces as a sort of promotion. So they, and myself would like it if you go through first."
"God damn, look at the size of those!" Tucker cried out opening a letter from a fangirl in college with her top off and no bra, "Oh... sorry... uh... nevermind me."
"...If you're the vanguard of this expedition, then that can be just the thing Chorus can use to get back on it's feet. Maybe in the future we can be allies with the UNSC. Then maybe we can have some independence when this is all over, but we can not do this without you."
Quietly, the group weighed the options they had in front of them. Like before they weren't good but the consequences would be great. Stuck in the same limbo as before, they knew the right option they just didn't like it.
"Well, pony up gentlemen. I'm in." Sarge began.
"I'm with you sir." Simmons stood up.
"I'm fine staying here, you don't need me right?" Grif asked.
Kimball gave him an alternative, "Okay, I could always use the help with mountain of paperwork on my desk. Hours, maybe days of work."
"Shotgun." Grif reiterated
"Shotgun... FUCK!" Simmons cursed.
"Awww Yeah, I can't wait to come through that GATE." Donut cheered.
"[I have no choice because you'll hear me speak and assume I'm in so get it over with.]" Lopez said so bland.
Church coughed as he spoke, "[Lopez, you know I downloaded some Spanish before I wan transferred into this body?]"
"[What? Tell them I said no.]"
"Lopez is excited to go!"
"HIJO DE PUTA!"
"You'll need someone with medical experience." Doc added.
Kimball nodded, "Good point, I'll see if Doctor Grey is willing to go with you."
"Ohhh... I see... good idea."
"Come on Doc, we might need you." Tucker added.
Caboose jumped up and down, "We... are going... on an ADVENTURE!"
"Then it settled, everyone's going and we'll be all set." Church summed up.
"Actually... Carolina and me are staying behind. Hargrove may be down for the count but that doesn't mean that Chorus is safe. Until we can be sure we'll be with Kimball to make sure nothing bad happens." Washington stated.
"So who's going with them?" Church asked as everyone stared at him, "Oh... one problem... I have no military training. I mean none whatsoever. What about that?"
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you all are in the best shape before you depart." Carolina smirked, scaring everyone in the room.
During 2 Week Boot Camp Carolina
The standard army boot camp is somewhere around ten weeks, during which you are pushed to your limits. Carolina had to condense ten weeks into less than fourteen days. And everyone was feeling it.
Carolina had them run until their legs felt as though they were going to fall off, worse that Wash's leg days. Church felt his new lungs exhaust air and huff it back in, then his new legs were feeling that sore that he did not miss. Tucker was right in front helping him stay steady but even he would stumble and almost fall over from time to time. Sarge struggled just as much as his men, being his age he was feeling as though he'd have a heart attack by now. Grif held Simmons' shirt so he wouldn't fall as he was the only thing keeping him up and from eating mud. Doc struggled despite being a track star, Donut and Lopez were at the back of the back as Lopez had to carry Donut to keep his shoes clean. The only one not suffering was Caboose as he lead the pack.
Target practice was rigorous as they all had to be trained in every type of firearm despite already having their preferred gun. Their chests and wrists became red and swollen after each session. Church struggled the most as he could hit the target but not the center no matter how hard he focused. Eventually Carolina pulled him to the side to get special training. With the roles reversed Carolina gave him one piece of information, "You now North hit all his shots?"
"How?"
"He missed all his other ones."
"Just take your time and keep practicing, you'll get it."
Physical combat was the only bit of fun they got out of it all. The Freelancers taught them the basics and then chose a style they might enjoy. What Wash realized is that they had very little CQC training, close quarters combat, eventually he thought of a way they could pick what's work for them. A form of mixed martial arts.
Tucker and Sarge were the most skilled in this area, as Tucker was trained by Wash and Carolina and Sarge was a former ODST. member.
Sarge was old as hell, slow as hell but tough and durable as they come, he's been around for so long because of his experience and tough skin. He doesn't have to block but it's still preferred, so he chose to focus on boxing with a slugger substyle.
Tucker was the most skilled, his legs were strong and his endurance was impressive so he chose Capoeira. The beautiful mix between dance and fighting style worked perfectly for him as he could move freely and incorporate kicks, spins and submission holds.
Caboose was next as his superior strength made him a go getter for Sambo. Sambo is a Russian martial art that was first used by the Soviet Red Army in the 1920s. It is consisted to be a hybrid of Judo and freestyle wresting.
Grif was a heavy set as well, Carolina can vouch for that, considering he was much heavier than he looked. So the obvious choice of Sumo was suggested but after even more careful consideration they figured drunken style suited everyone. Especially Grif as that sounded as if he could get drunk and fight at the same time.
Simmons, Doc and Donut were light so they needed something that would work for their weight class. Systema focuses on breathing, relaxation, and fluidity of movement, as well as utilizing an attacker's momentum against him and controlling the six body levers: elbows, neck, knees, waist, ankles, and shoulders, through pressure point application, striking, and weapon applications. The perfect fighting style for them, well more for Doc and Donut, but to save time Simmons studied this for convenience.
Lopez made his mind up; call it programming, or a feeling but he chose the style of Lucha Libre. Although the term nowadays refers exclusively to professional wrestling, it was originally used in the same style as the English term 'freestyle wrestling', referring to an amateur wrestling style without the restrictions of Greco-Roman wrestling.
Last Church had just gotten used to his joints, so the easiest fighting style was recommended. Muay Thai. Okay so maybe easy isn't the word to use but it was effective and strong, good for defense. Plus Carolina made it easy to follow along. These weren't necessary after all when would they need to be that close, right?
Lastly Carolina finished our everything with a situation obstacle course as they had to go through everything they may encounter out there. Dodging arrows, going through all types of terrain they could encounter, climbing, swimming and every other possible obstacle there could be physical. In the end she was proud they made it and let them all pass. As each one fell face forward she smiled at her morons.
Operation: New World.
The operation consisted of using several troops armed with DMRs and the standard issue assault rifles. Around five SCORPION tanks, a few more chain gun Warthogs and a couple razorback transport trucks to get more troops off ground through the GATE. Including the large MAMMOTH, a large transport vehicle used to carry around thirty troops and a few more other vehicles such as the Mongoose ATVs and more Warthogs. All around the starting operation force consisted of around 150 well armed and well trained fighters.
The Reds were in their chain gun Warthog, with Grif as the driver, Simmons as the gunner and Sarge in the passenger seat. Doc stayed in the MAMMOTH while Lopez manned one of the mounted rocket pods. Donut joined alongside another group in Razorback in the MAMMOTH waiting to go through. While The Blues had Caboose, or rather the AI Phyllis, drive one of the SCORPION tanks, Church, Tucker Dr. Grey rode on the side along with another random troop.
President Kimball gave a rousing speech, being the great leader she was, "You are all about to embark upon a great journey unlike any other you have ever been apart of. You have traveled the stars, explored planets, fought on many battlefields. But you are truly exploring the unknown as you upon a GATE to another world. Your mission is peaceful but many people will not react well to your new faces, so no matter what happens or what's to come. You must be prepared for anything, be ready for anything the moment you go through the GATE. Once you have secured the area, create a defensive perimeter so that you can bring in the engineers, builders so we can start establishing a base."
With that said all troops placed their helmets back on their heads and prepared to push through the other side of the GATE. Getting strapped, locked or seated in their vehicles as they all looked ahead waiting for the tanks to lead them all through.
Tucker turned back to Church, "Hey, think they got any hot elves or demi humans there?"
"Maybe Tuck, you never know." Church smiled back at him.
Tucker looked ahead shouting back to his friend, "See you on the other side Church?"
As they first started going through Church noticed that the GATE itself was dark, once you get pass the beginning light. It was as though they were in a dark highway tunnel with no lights as the seemingly never ending darkness was only battled by the helmet and vehicle lights. Then the light at the end of the tunnel came in and was just as blinding as the beginning light.
Once through, the tanks spread out and formed a perimeter around what looked to be a mesa, overlooking a nice flowing valley. At the bottom of the valleys several torches lit bonfires and out came the few thousand troops, mercenaries and bandits that surrounded the area. Ranging somewhere in the nine thousands, maybe close to ten. They all started moving towards the GATE. Five hundred meters away they began their charge towards the soldiers from the future.
This is the story of the Reds and Blues and how they began their journey into the new world.
Okay, so I think I figured out what was wrong with my notifications so hopefully I'll be receiving some soon. I think but if not I'll have to go to the official website to check it out. Also hopefully they'll allow someone to use FUCKING DESKTOP MODE! Sorry, that's kinda been pissing me off.
Also so many of you who I have nothing but love for came to comment, thank you. Now let's see what I can answer.
1. Yes this is going to be M, so I can shit, fuck and all that crap. The full Red vs Blue experience.
2. I noticed most of you, if not all had something to add about the inconsistency about the guns and armor of the Red vs Blue Universe and I apologize. In my defense this still makes no sense, Example; an older model allowed So many of the Blood Gulch Crew to survive fatal wounds from high caliber, high explosive weaponry. At the same time advance FL armor or similar armor is damaged easily by blades or blunt objects. How does that work. Sorry it's still excuse, I'll try to be better.
3. That's it, y'all are getting whatever fantasy characters my insane mind can conjure up. Beware... Mwahahahaha...
Also I'm sorry I kinda rushed some major events from the Armonia Attack Episode. Yeah I added several major events in their to try to keep track. I just wanted to get everything wrapped up within 7000 words from last chapter.
Thank you all, I appreciate everything you all do for these stories. Churchisalive signing off for now.
