Chapter 2. The right place.

In a blink of an eye, the souls returned to another time.

Harry was hiding on a rooftop. Next to him, Hermione materialized with a faint pop. Like a flood, his memory came back, making him lose his balance and land on his bum. Harry remembered this was the one time his stupid cousin Dudley was happily playing his favorite bullying game, Harry hunting and he had a bout of accidental magic and shifted and reappeared on the school's roof in fear and remained lost for three hours until the school janitor found him crying, scared and hungry.

It was a sad memory, but, as soon as that memory of himself clicked, Hermione popped next to him. Harry smiled and realized his troubles were over, as the flood of memories from his future past incarnation began to fill the memory gap.

Hermione with her bigger-than-life heart, hair, and teeth was here, and yes, he was going to be better than fine, he was going to be happy.

After Hermione appeared next to Harry, she blinked for a second, confused. But then, it was Harry, a Harry she had never met. While he looked scruffy and skinny, his face had tear tracks and dirt like he had been crying, the moment she recognized his raven hair out of sorts, his crystalline emerald eyes, and his broken smile, she knew she was in the right place, Her magic brought her here, to Harry, and if Harry was here? She understood happiness was ahead of her.

The two old souls/children reached out to each other as friends who had not seen each other in years. They held in a hug, Hermione saying after a while, "We need to get back to my house, my mother and father are at work, and my nanny is useless. But there is a first aid kit at home, you skinned your knee and I'm sure there's more to do now than be stuck on a roof, right?"

"Yeah, okay, let's get out of here," agreed Harry.

The two kids popped away before the magical obliviation squad appeared five minutes later. As they got a double alarm for accidental magic in a muggle area.

A moment later the two travelers popped back into existence in the inside garden of a well-to-do home. Hermione walked back inside, sliding the French door, and took in her surroundings. She encountered the Nanny happily yapping on the phone with her boyfriend, unaware that the child she was supposed to be sitting for was looking at her like a Ghost of Christmas Past. She then whispered, "Stupefy!"

The Nanny fell, and Hermione transfigured her into a Barbie doll, she then took the phone and said to her boyfriend Steward. "Uh, she had to go to the bathroom Stue, um, she will call you back, bye," She hung up the phone, Harry got close to her and while looking at the door, he said, "You better turn me into a toy too, because, the accidental magic squad is going to be here any minute, and if they break the door and find me here, it's not going to be good,"

Hermione nodded and did a wandless and silently shifted Harry into a black teddy bear, with green eyes. She held onto the bear while tossing the barbie doll to the couch. Just then there was a knock on the door. Hermione moved to the window and noticed behind her mother's gossamer blinds the ministry workers. She called the police then she answered the door with a question for the ministry of magic staff.

"Are you people from the circus?"

The obliviators raised an eyebrow and said, "Open up." Hermione replied. "According to my mum, you don't answer a stranger at the door,"

"Are you alone, little girl?" Asked the ministry worker.

"I'm not supposed to say," replied Hermione.

"So, no adults, then?" Insisted the Obliviator.

"No, but I just dialed 999 before I answered the door, so the lady from the police is listening to us and she said a car was patched, oh no, dispatched here, look, there's the car, thank you, Miss," Said little Hermione to the phone receiver in her tiny hand.

It was then that the police officers started their siren. The obliviators turned away and once around a corner, popped away. Which made the police officers in pursuit scratch their heads, as the strangely dressed muggers vanished in between the cracks of the back wall, right before they could catch them.

The police officers knocked on the Granger home, and this time Barbie (Hermione's Nanny) returned from the bathroom after being revived and hexed with a violent bowel enchantment, she opened the door and made a run back to the restroom a moment later.

The police made their questions, congratulated Hermione for being smart, and patted her Teddy. The Nanny came out of the room as pale as a sheet. She gave thanks and called the Grangers, telling them she would take Hermione to their office, she needed to see a doctor.

Hermione nodded to the plan, took her Teddy, and behaved as perfectly as an eager seven-year-old would when presented with the opportunity of being with her parents earlier than usual.

The Grangers noticed the strange teddy bear and Dr. Jake Granger asked, "Princess, where did you get the black teddy?"

"Um, I found it on a rooftop daddy, you see, he told me he had no family, and I noticed he had a scraped knee and he was crying, and I told him we have a first aid kit at home, so, after a long talk in which I explained how good it would be to stay with us, he accepted and, he became mine."

To the Grangers who simply loved their child, that said child had a huge imagination was not new. So instead they smiled and agreed in silence because well it was a very cute scene as Hermione hugged and kissed her teddy vowing for Ice cream after dinner, but only because he was a good teddy, and so well-behaved when getting his bandaid.
