Lore of Yandor #12

Uria Town is a normally peaceful small village in the Letarah desert. Most of the pokemon are fairly friendly to each other, thanks to the close-knit community. They aren't used to seeing conflict, so when it does occur, they react in a confused manner and attempt to deny it. The most notable feature of this town is the gorgeous oasis it was built around. The residents pride themselves on the fact that it's the second largest oasis in Yandor, second to the mystery dungeon aptly named "The Oasis of the Lost."

Age of Zezula: Year 780: Location: Croudor Province: Jono City Main Gate

Team Eternity is seen gathered around the outside of the large gate of Jono City. Each one of them with varying degrees of emotion regarding the upcoming battles against the Fireforged.

Jessica appeared to be the most worried of them all, pacing back and forth unnervingly. Niles looked over at her, watching her walking around with concern in his eyes.

"Jessica, it's not too late to back out if you are feeling this fearful of what's to come," he reminded her while approaching her to place a hand on her shoulder. "I'm not a heartless leader who'd force you to your death."

She turned to him, her expression growing more determined. "N-no no, I can d-do it! I may not be remotely close to a true fighter, but you guys will need all the help that you can get," she responded with enviable confidence, clasping her chest. Although, it didn't last long and she dropped her head and arms in defeat. "E-except, I have no clue who I have the best chance against…"

Sornos propped his foot back against the wall he was leaning on. "Tch, problem is, we don't exactly know what to expect from this "Mother" character," he closed his eyes, his facial features tightening as he began to ponder. "From the sounds of it, they must be quite the powerful foe. If the Fireforged's note is anything to go by."

Lulu tapped her beak. "If that's the case, then may I suggest that the team going for her bring 5 pokemon? For max safety reasons," she asked, looking towards Niles and Sheila for an answer.

"As much as I'd hate to leave one team short, we kinda can't with 9 members…" Niles responded with a frown. "So yeah, I agree with that sentiment, Lulu."

Sheila growled. "If only those bastards didn't steal the lives of Havan and Shinji, we'd have no numbers issue!" she exclaimed, her brow furrowing in anger.

"Uh, well, 11 is still an odd number though…" Tuba commented with a smirk.

"This isn't the time for math corrections! Shut up!" Sheila barked at the Luxio.

He backed away from her and looked away indignantly. Was just saying, sheesh… that girl has literal fire in her.

"If there's one thing I know, it's that I want to face off against Skorge," Rukous suddenly said, a fire clearly evident in his brown eyes. "I must do this for her…"

Jessica raised her chin up high. "A-allow me to lend you a helping hand with that," she told him, walking up to his side. "Even if things go south, I can be happy knowing that I went down with those I care about."

Court fist pumped. "That's the spirit, Jessica!" he cheered with a joyful grin.

Niles let out a sigh and gulped. "Since I know firsthand that I cannot hope to touch Skorge with any of my moves, I'll have to start off the team to fight Mother," he said, not feeling too confident.

Sheila wrapped an arm around his neck and pulled him to her side. "Of course, you'll need me to make sure you don't get yourself killed," she teased with a comforting smirk.

"Says the one who, on multiple occasions no less, brashly runs straight into danger."

"I know, that's what makes us a good duo!" Sheila proclaimed, smacking him on the shoulder.

Sornos rolled his head to the sides, cracking his neck. "Being the strongest of the team, it's imperative that I assist with Mother," he claimed, strolling over to Niles and Sheila.

Tuba played with his left ear for a moment, his eyes flitting between both teams. "Eh, might as well choose team Fuck Up Skorge's Shit, since he's weak to electric types," he decided, approaching Rukous and Jessica.

Naoto silently went up to Niles, Sheila, and Sornos. Court also followed him there.

"Obviously, you'll need my music to encourage you in the toughest of fights!" the spry totodile declared, beating his chest proudly. "And hey, who knows? Maybe this Mother pokemon enjoys a sweet lute solo!"

Most of them just shook their heads in response, but a few did smile at the thought.

Lulu stepped up to the only team with three pokemon on it.

"By process of elimination, I am now with you three," she said, pushing down her natural hat over her eyes.

Niles cleared his throat. "Alright, so this is how it's gonna go, once either team finishes their fight, they should quickly go assist the other. That is, if you're able and or not currently dead," he relayed, making sure everyone is on the same page. "That's all I can really say right now as we have no time to waste."

"Then let's move out guys!" Sheila roared, punching the palm of her hand. "Onwards to the battlefields!"

"Best of luck to all, it's not going to be simple or painless, far from it…" Niles ended as the team parted ways.

Age of Zezula: Year 780: Location: Croudor Province: Uria Town

Niles, Sheila, Sornos, Court, and Naoto all arrived in Uria Town having made use of one of the many benefits of being a mercenary grants, that being teleporters.

The intense heat of the desert immediately became apparent once they stepped outside into the town. Observing their surroundings, houses and marketplaces were situated around a decently large oasis. Palm trees had grown around the perimeter of the desert lake, and violet flowers decorated the grassy patches scattered about the area. Some pokemon were seen relaxing in and around the water.

Most noticeably, a group of about 10 pokemon, who clearly weren't residents of the town, were hanging around the oasis. They all wore white and royal blue capes patterned in honor of Rayquaza's visage, with a fierce representation of his head acting as the insignia imprinted on the back.

Niles fanned himself with a hand and glanced at the cape wearing pokemon. "What's with those guys? Are they with Croudor's military?" he questioned, dipping his feet into the cool water of the oasis.

"Indeed they are," Sornos confirmed with a nod. "The finest soldiers that Yandor has to offer."

"If we have them on our side, who even needs to worry one bit about Mother, whoever they even are!" Court proclaimed exuberantly, lying on his back in the water.

"Rule number one of any fight, never underestimate your opponent," Naoto said, holding up a finger.

One of the soldiers, a haxorus, approached the five. Upon noticing their more decorated cape, all but Niles gave them a traditional Croudor salute, to which they also did in response. The salute being somewhat similar to a human's salute, except the arm starts from across the chest and moves straight outwards.

The haxorus let out an amused snort, looking down on Niles. "Not used to formalities yet, kid?" they asked with a gruff feminine voice.

Niles felt as if he was shrinking in the intimidating presence of the dragon type. "Look… I-I didn't mean anything by it," he sputtered. "I just have not been around the military all too much…"

"Kehahahaha!" she burst out laughing. "Now now, lying was not needed, I wasn't going to bugger you about it."

What does she mean by lying…? Well, I mean, I did lie, but that's besides the point. Niles thought with a nervous smile.

The haxorus looked to all five of them. "Anywho, I'm assuming that you're a mercenary band, yeah?" She addressed them with a stoic attitude. "Commander Hextra at your service! And those fellas over there…" she gestured towards the other 9 pokemon of her squadron. "Are pretty much nobodies as far as you're concerned, so I will not spend time introducing them unnecessarily. You can count on us to tear apart the pesky Fireforged, if they even show their ugly mugs."

"Nice! A strong female type fighting alongside us is just what the doctor ordered!" Court exclaimed with a fervent smile.

Sheila stood up from her resting position and shook Hextra's hand. "Thank you, commander. Fortunately, we are pretty sure that they will be attacking this city along with someone we only know as Mother," she informed, accompanying the last word with quotations.

"Whatever the case is, we should devise some kind of plan of attack, miss Hextra," Naoto suggested thoughtfully.

"Of course! Don't want to get caught naked and unaware after all!" she jested with a shameless grin. "But yes, a strategy is most certainly required."

Sornos rolled his eyes. "Is this seriously what honored commanders are like nowadays?" he shook his head with an exasperated smirk.

"You don't have to be a stick in the mud in order to gain a high stature, sir," she rebuked, crossing her arms and giving the wolf a disapproving glare. "I can't claim to know what you've been through, but you ought to learn that eventually. It makes life all the more enjoyable."

Sornos clicked his tongue and avoided her stare. "Save the reprimanding philosophies after the death defying battle will ya?" he requested with an angry sneer. "We have a job to do."

"Uh huh… moving back to strategizing…" she started, playing with the end of her left axe-blade tusk. "I, along with my buddies, will set up around the perimeter of Uria Town, while you five scout out around the outskirts. If you can, attempt an ambush on our enemies to keep them preoccupied. In the midst of that, we'll join in as fast as we can manage."

Niles got up, taking his feet out of the water. "You know, it would help if the townsfolk pitch in to assist," he brought up, brushing the sand off of his legs. "Maybe we should try to ask them?"

"Believe me, I already tried and failed miserably," Hextra remarked, rubbing the side of her neck. "Let me tell you, they're the most frustrating bunch of townees I've had to deal with. Everytime I utter a word remotely related to conflict, they ignore it completely and offer me their dang pure spring water! Like, do they even know who I am!?"

A nearby elderly combusken raised up a bottle of water. "The offer still stands, miss. It's fresher than the kids of the future!" they said with a pleasant smile.

"NO!" Hextra furiously disagreed, palming the top of her muzzle.

"Well, you could use it to wash away the woes of our inevitable victory," Court commented with a wink, strumming his lute.

Hextra blew air through her nostrils in an amused manner. "Nice one… I suppose," she remarked, shaking her head. "Let's just get to work now, before these townees drive me into a deeper insanity than the Fireforged themselves…"

Age of Zezula: Year 780: Location: Croudor Province: Uria Town Outskirts

Niles, Sheila, Sornos, Naoto, and Court were out patrolling the sandy dunes of the Letarah desert not far from Uria Town.

Naoto, feeling the effects of the sun's heated beatdown, walked considerably slower than the others.

"This is giving me a flashback to a time where I was also sweating my butt off, you know, when I was traumatized for the second time in my life…" he commented, leaning back to stretch.

Sornos stroked the fur atop his head, flinging drops of sweat into the sand below.

"Just stay focused and keep your eyes peeled for anyone suspicious," he urged, never stopping for a second with his searching.

"I almost fear that we'll end up being the ones ambushed…" Niles said, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm beginning to have second thoughts about this."

Court punched Nile's shoulder in a friendly manner. "Well, if you are feeling your hope being sucked out of your soul, I will be here to refresh it with the healing tones of my voice~" he sang, full of joy. "For example, I'd sing a song a little like this… No mat-"

"Shut it…!" Sornos demanded, his gaze striking fear into Court. "You risk alerting our enemies to us."

"Speaking of, doesn't that robed figure seem pretty threatening to you guys?" Sheila identified, pointing at a group of 4 pokemon, one of them bearing robes black as the night, the hood hiding their face. The other three consisted of a delphox, feraligatr, and altaria. "We know that two of the Fireforged are a delphox and feraligatr, so this must be no coincidence…"

The five all took cover behind a dune, positioned at the top, giving them a perfect shot at the shady pokemon. Sornos readied a Stone Edge, building up a ball of sharpened stone in his claws.

"As the one with the highest attacking potential, I shall lead this strike," he announced, pulling his arm back into a throwing pose. "Stone Edge!"

The stone shards, targeting the robed figure, embedded themselves into their side. They hunched over and grunted in pain. Then, they quickly snapped over to look at the attackers, eyeing the lycanroc. A flame seemed to flare where her right eye would be. She ripped out the stones that were jabbed in her side.

Court was going to high-five Sornos but was interrupted when the wolf was hit in the stomach with one of his own stones. His eyes jolted open in reaction as he spit out some blood. He took a kneel for a second to recover.

"C-counter… clever bitch…" he uttered between breaths.

The delphox, presumingly Nilsine, stared over at the altaria.

"What're you waiting for, Leslie?! Those idiots are trying to get the jump on us!" she shouted at them, motioning to the five pokemon at the top of the dune.

"Safegaurd!" The altaria, known as Leslie, began chanting quietly. Causing a powerful magical aura to surround herself and her allies. "We shouldn't have any worry of that nasty salandit poisoning our hearts now."

Nilsine took out her wooden wand. "Light Screen!" she announced, outlining a mystical barrier with her wand. "Let's see how effective their ranged tactics work now~"

Sheila looked towards Nilsine. Wonder what that aura is all about… she thought before preparing to use Toxic on the delphox. The poisonous liquid did reach her, but dissolved once it got too close to their body.

"Oh… that's what it is…" Sheila realized with shame.

"Yes, it's called Safeguard, you can't place any status condition on them until the effect dissipates," Naoto explained to her.

"Be quiet!" she barked in retortion. "We can't all be masters of battles…"

Mother tapped the back of the Feraligatr, whom turned around to face her.

"Rockslide them and force them down to our level, Graves," she commanded in a calming tone and smiled. "I have utmost confidence that you'll accomplish this with ease, my child."

He nodded and stomped a foot into the sand. "Can do, mother!" he exclaimed, hardening the sand nearby with his own water. Making them tough enough to substitute as boulders. Afterwards, he hurled all of them at our heroes sitting up on the dune top.

They weren't able to avoid the incoming projectiles. Each one of them felt the impact of the hardened balls of sand colliding into their bodies, causing them to tumble down the sand dune right down to the Fireforged's feet.

Court tilted his head to meet with the eyes of Leslie.

"Hey there~ oh wait, I mean, could you lend me your ears for a sec?" he asked, the altaria raising a brow with confusion plastered on her face.

Leslie caught on to his tricks and quickly shoved his face into the sand with her foot, muffling his ear ruptering screech.

"Nice try, little guy," she remarked with a coy grin.

He popped his head back up and gagged. "At least I now never need to wonder what sand tastes like…" he quipped, wiping the sand off his face.

Niles came up with an idea as he was staring at the clumps of sand that Graves threw at them.

"Uhh, Rock Tomb!" he shouted, kicking them at Nilsine in an attempt to bury her amongst them.

Unfortunately, she was expecting it and leapt right over the flying sand balls. She landed with a curtsy to show off.

"To give credit where credit is due, I'm shocked that a little lizard like you has the leg strength to do that," she admitted, giving him a soft clap of praise.

Naoto's hand clenched into a fist as he eyed Nilsine menacingly.

"I've had enough of you and that shit eating grin of yours!" he shouted with intense fervor, getting into a fighting pose. "Not only did you subject me to traumatic pain, but Shinji's death is your doing as well! Thanks to you, my phobia has worsened even more as a result."

Nilsine scoffed, raising her brow in bewilderment. "It was not my intention for your friend to fall victim to Vaylie's aggressive behavior," she rebuked. "And I apologize that you ended up being her doll for her torture fetish. Trust me, I know how it feels, my poor foot has suffered through her stepping on it daily."

She gestured to her clearly bruised right foot, lifting it up to be easier to see.

"So you did me a favor getting rid of her," she commented with genuine gratitude, which lasted a second once Mother gave her a death glare. "I-I mean… Screw you for ending her life all too early, she never deserved it!"

Naoto violently shook with rage. "Force Palm!" he rushed at her with an outstretched palm. She jumped back, however, he still managed to catch her bruised foot.

She hissed in irritation, bringing her foot up to hold it. "100th time… heh, sorry Vaylie, looks like you didn't reach that goal first…" she flinched in reaction once she touched her shin. "tsss, ow!"

Sornos struggled up to his feet, holding his wounded stomach.

"Not...making...that mistake… again," he muttered to himself, then noticing that Graves wasn't paying attention to him. "Thunder… Fang!"

With a powerful chomp, Sornos managed to sink his electric infused fangs into Graves's left thigh, tasting the blood of his enemy.

The feraligatr howled in agony, kicking the lycanroc off his leg.

"Fuckin' hairball!" he retorted in fury through a fanged sneer.

Mother fiercely gazed at Sornos, outstretching her claws in clear aggravation.

"You dare lay a finger on my child! You shall sympathize with my pain! Blaze Kick!" she announced, the flames of her taloned foot burning away her robes, revealing her to be a blaziken, as she aimed her kick at Niles.

Sheila took action and stepped in her path.

"Protect!" The salandit shielded Niles with a forcefield, blocking the blazing kick from the maddened bird.

Niles let out a sigh of relief.

"Phew, consider your debt back in the Jagged Burrow repaid," he thanked Sheila.

"Like I'd let you get away from your responsibilities easily!" she exclaimed vivaciously, giving him a proud smirk.

Sornos's expression turned to one of dread once he saw that half the blaziken's face, chest, and entire right arm was skeletal. Further inspiring doom and gloom, they had spikes of bone and purple vine-like protrusions decorating her skeletal parts.

"A-a malfarian...?! Maybe we bit off more than we can chew..." he muttered, standing up to look around the sandy dunes. "Shit… we need those damn soldiers over here now!"

As if on cue, Hextra with her squad were sprinting down from the town and to the battlefield, kicking up sand in the process.

"Haha! The cavalry has arrived!" Court shouted, pumping a fist into the air while hopping energetically.

Mother slowly turned to face the group of soldiers heading to their position. She closed her eyes and placed the palm of her hand against the sand beneath her.

"Uhh, why is the ground shaking…?" Naoto asked, everyone beginning to feel the sand rumble underneath them.

Suddenly, an intense inferno erupted from under the sand, forming a hellish arena of brimstone and flames around them. Ash began to slowly float down from above.

While it kept most of Hextra's squad out of the field of battle, she still managed to leap into the fight at the last minute. Albeit, nearly getting incinerated in the process.

She looked back through the raging wall of flames which reached up and bended inwards to create a sort of "snow globe" surrounding them. She saw that her allies were saluting her from the other side of the fiery arena. She returned the favor and then marched up to Niles and his team, getting into a fighting stance.

"Can't say I was prepared for this kind of development…" she whispered to herself. "Nevertheless, I have made the playing field even at least!"

"Nice to see you again, commander," Sornos snarky remarked, grinning her way. "Hope you know how to handle a malfarian."

"Malfarian!? Aw fuck me…" she gritted her teeth, placing a hand over her snout.

Leslie, realizing the threat the haxorus posed, opened her mouth. "Dragon Breath!"

A mighty gust of electrifying breath spiraled out of her mouth and towards Hextra, whom stepped to the side of the attack. Alas, some of it clipped her shoulder and she felt a jolt of electricity surge throughout her body, resulting in her being paralyzed.

"Figures…" she said with an annoyed frown.

Nilsine sprouted a menacing grin, her eyes flitting to a certain mienfoo.

"This is for my foot, you inconsiderate fool, Psychic!" she exclaimed angrily, attempting to focus her mind only for it to fail when she stumbled on her right foot. "Ouchouchouch! Nevermind… still hurting over here."

Mother shook her head. "Take it easy, please. I'd much rather you play it safe instead of harming yourself further," she comforted the delphox, giving her a quick hug. "Mother will handle the rest just fine."

Sheila blankly stared at them before. "Well if they're going to distract themselves… Dragon Rage!" she shouted, spewing blue flames at both of them

The ensuing flames were far more intense than even Sheila was expecting. Not only did they engulf both Nilsine and her mother, but it left the delphox reeling in agony at her now charred fur and flesh.

Nilsine fell to her knees, holding herself up with her hands while breathing heavily.

"Aghhh! Alright mother, maybe you should give them hell instead of myself…" she murmured, shutting her eyes tightly in an attempt to block out the pain.

Mother looked at Graves with a frightening expression. He immediately understood what he must do next. He crouched down into a runners pose, and charged at Sheila, propelling himself with water.

"Time for ma' revenge fo' leavin' me starvin' in tha' cell!"

Utilizing her small frame, Sheila slid between his legs, resulting in him planting himself face first into the sand. He was left struggling to push himself out of the sand. Sheila snickered quietly to herself, feeling proud of herself.

Court tapped his chin in thought, then his eyes lit up suddenly. "Oh wait, I do have a perfect move for that Altaria, Ice Beam~" He sang along with a strum of his lute.

He spit out a freezing beam of ice at the Altaria. While it didn't make direct contact with her, just being too close to its vicinity caused her to freeze up solid.

"There's an ice beam that'll send shivers down your spine~"

"Have a nice afternoon, you irksome little birdy~"

Court finished with a pleasant high from his lute, a dopey grin on his face.

Meanwhile, Niles decided to follow up with a Mega Drain on the stuck feraligatr.

"This better work…" he mumbled, creating green energy in the palms of his hand.

To his satisfaction, the move did suck some of the life out of Graves, who stopped struggling for a bit to recover from the drainage. Although, his muffled growls of frustration could still be heard.

Naoto sat down in the sand cross-legged and began to meditate, thinking of more relaxing events. Preparing for a strike of true power.

Hextra tried to move her limbs but was ultimately unable to break the paralysis.

"Nope, not yet…" she said, feeling somewhat ashamed to admit it. "Sorry guys,"

Mother, appearing to be far more spry and active thanks to her Speed Boost ability, quickly sprinted at Naoto. Attempting to take advantage of his meditating state.

Somehow, someway, he simply tilted his head to the side and her incoming Sky Uppercut sailed right by him.

Sornos, whom has continued to miraculously power through his injuries despite the loss of blood he's been having since the beginning, glanced over. He saw that Mother was still coming back down from her Sky Uppercut move. He figured it was an opportune moment to attack her now.

"Stone Edge!" He yelled out, once again trying to toss sharp stones at the blaziken. To his dismay, a sudden pain from his wound shot throughout his body, causing him to miss her completely. She landed back onto the sand safely and unharmed.

Leslie, frozen in a block of ice, shook in her frigid prison. But, it was to no avail.

Nilsine winced in pain, knowing it was her turn to make a move. However, she didn't budge from her position, choosing to sit back and tend to her wounds.

"I'm not going to keep risking my life… As long as I keep myself hidden, no one will pay attention to me," she reasoned with herself, squinting her eyes. "If it means one of my family dies again, so be it…"

"We really need to make some kind of headway with this fight," Sheila said, looking at Graves. "Starting with you being removed once and for all! Venoshock!"

Much to her misfortune, he was able to free himself from the sand and accidentally avoid the venomous liquid that she had shot out.

Sheila face palmed and sighed out of frustration.

"Ugh!" she grunted in annoyance, stomping her foot. "I swear, the forces of luck are working against us! We're the heroes, why do we get treated this way!?"

Graves coughed out some sand and clenched his teeth.

"You're tellin' me! Thas twice now tha' I 'ave whiffed on ma Waterfall assault…" He remarked, slumping his shoulders in defeat.

Mother came up to him and rubbed his shoulders in a loving gesture.

"Now now, don't allow yourself to crumple under failure, you must recuperate, learn, then strike back against the source of your struggles and triumph over your mistakes!" she pep talked, raising his spirits.

He beat his chest rapidly in excitement.

"Yeah yeah! Of course ma! You're nevah wrong!" He exclaimed with a sneer, getting himself riled up. "Rock Slide!"

This time, he opted to hit multiple opponents after the unsuccessful attempts to hit only one. Turns out, he was smart to make the change, as the rock solid balls of sand onslaught he caused smashed into all his enemies.

Sheila found herself buried underneath the sand balls.

Niles got launched back, bouncing off the walls of fire which added to his misery.

Sornos got knocked to the ground from one landing on his back. Luckily, he was still hanging on to consciousness by a thread.

Naoto's meditation was disrupted by a ball of sand smacking him straight in the head. Sending him recoiling into a sand dune.

Thanks to her paralysis, Hextra had no choice but to watch as a sand ball knocked the breath out of her when it collided into her belly.

Out of complete shock, Court actually used his surprisingly sturdy lute to hit a ball of sand right back at Graves as if it were a game of baseball. It hit him right in the chest and sent him sliding backwards a fair feet away.

Court looked around him at his injured teammates, concern evident in his gaze, and then at Graves with awe.

"Did I just do that? I think I just did!" He exclaimed happily, doing a little dance before kissing his lute. "Why didn't you tell me that you were forged in the furnace of Zacian!?"

Niles wobbled as he got back up.

"Really not feeling that hopeful anymore…" He commented in a saddened tone. "We aren't making it past this point…"

Court placed his claws on his hips and looked at Niles with a critical expression.

"That's not the right attitude, bro!" He wagged a finger. "Times may be tough, but they're only as tough as you believe them to be! The only medicine is to keep your chin up and your eyes focused on the prize. That prize is celebrating a glorious victory over the Fireforged with your faithful friends. As long as you have overwhelming energy, the fight will never end!"

Niles straightened up and took a deep breath.

"You're correct... how can I call myself a leader if I step down now," he said, his facial features becoming more serious and pronounced. "I need to take out one of them, I know that I can."

Court curtly nodded with a smile.

"Go get 'em, champ!" he cheered Niles on.

Mother offered them a heartfelt smile.

"Been a while since I've witnessed such companionship…" She regarded them in a cordial tone, relaxing her muscles. "I feared that such a trait no longer existed in Yandor, especially after seeing it pulled away from my children because of this damned disease of mine."

Niles looked at her in befuddlement.

"Where is this side of you coming from?" He questioned, furrowing his brow.

"The side that my children came to love, the one that brought them much needed joy and elation from all the cruelty of the world," she explained with a hint of mournfulness in her tone. She clutched her skull in anguish. "Gherk! I-I was unable to control it any longer… I d-dread what I may do in the near future, the harm my children will face… Please… end this endless suffering!"

She began to wildly tear at her feathers, banging her skeletal face with her fists. Demonic growling could be heard being uttered from under her breath.

Nilsine scooted back, father away from her mother in genuine terror. Graves also felt inspired to do the same.

Hextra's eyes softened as she soaked in what was said.

"Damn girl… that's rough as hell," she commented with a frown. "I've heard horror stories about the victims of this disease, and it is nothing short of terrifying. I'm sorry that you fell victim to that absolutely fucked dis- no, a curse is what it is."

Court and Niles shuddered in fear, looking at each other wide eyed.

"Man… I'm starting to feel pretty bad about this…" Court said, finally appearing to have lost all the cheery energy. "I don't believe she ever wanted to harm anyone."

Niles bit his lower lip.

"Regardless, she requested that we end this, and as a mercenary band, it is our duty to fulfill any and all requests from the denizens of Yandor!" Niles heroically exclaimed. "Rock Tomb!"

Mother forced herself into the path of the attack, fighting against the disease attempting to reign control of her body. She felt elated that it was all going to finally come to an end…

*SMASH!*

Niles gawked, his jaw dropping, baffled by what just occurred after he threw those rocks.

The cube of ice that Leslie was stuck in was slid in front of Mother, shielding her from the rocks. Much to her dismay, Leslie did not survive this, since the rocks shattered her to pieces.

Mother felt every ounce of her soul leave her body as she felt the bloodied ice and water push up against her feet. In the blood stained sand, she let out an anguished cry that slowly turned into an ear piercing, unsightly, and haunting shriek belonging to that of a monster.

Sornos, finally finding it within himself to speak up, had this to say in response to what pushed Leslie into the line of fire.

"Skorge…!? Where the-" He cut himself off, clenching his teeth through pained gasps. "Do you realize what you've just done…!"

AN: Oh boy! Why is Skorge here? What does that mean for the team that fought him? And are Sheila and Naoto still alive? I don't know! Because this is a cliffhanger. Multi part battles ahoy!

AN2: Because nobody had an opinion on how I should go about updating the past chapters, I've decided on my own. So, I will be keeping this original story up and I'll just update the older chapters. Be on the lookout for that. Also, I had to re-do the map of Yandor, so if you noticed that the cover image is different, that's why. On the bright side, it more accurately represents a lot of the landmarks of the world, except that I couldn't fit the whole thing in. If you're interested, I can show you the whole map.

AN3: Since both battles are ongoing or have yet to start at all, everyone still has the option to PM me some strategies if wanted.

OC Rules

1. The classic. No Mary or Gary Stues. You can submit some very skilled and/or powerful OCs, but you must give them at least 2 or 3 weaknesses.

2. There's a bar of quality that you must pass in order for your OC to be accepted. This is because I get some OCs here and there that lack any substance at all, and boy is it hard to work with that. Luckily for you guys, the bar isn't that high and you have unlimited attempts anyways (please no spam though).

3. No human turned pokemon OCs.

4. I will not accept incomplete OCs or OCs that just do not fit into the world of Yandor.

5. No main villains/antagonists. I'm very iffy about them in general, as they're hard to fit into the story.

6. PM your OCs please. I'd much rather see reviews in the review section over them. I know this hurts the guests, but it's really not that difficult to set up an account. If you do end up sending one in the reviews for whatever reason, the only way I'll accept them is if you clearly put time and effort into it.

7. Fair warning, no character is safe from death. Since, I roll dice to determine battle and choice outcomes. However, I may overrule the dice on certain occasions. In short, I'll try to do what is best for the story.

Estimated Age (Pokemon don't age the same as humans, so I just need you to tell me if they're a child, teen, young adult, adult, or elder):

Role (Teammate to the main character, recurring villain, just some random shopkeeper, another mercenary band leader/teammate, or maybe a pokemon that I can just kill as an example of how shit Yandor can be):

Province (tell me what province they live in, just know that certain types usually live in a certain province, but they can be in any province really (very unlikely). Read the Lore of Yandor in the introductory chapter for info on that. You can ask any question about the provinces if needed and if I can answer it):

Personality (I need decent enough description that'll allow me to get your OC right):

Character Alignment (You can look up the alignments on google or just ask me about it):

Backstory (I won't ask for much here, just give me a backstory that really shows why they are the way they are):

Relationship? (No, this doesn't mean sex scenes are planned. I'm asking whether or not you're fine with your OC having a relationship develop, and their sexuality):

Ability:

Move-set (give me 6 moves):

Fighting Style (Can be as descriptive as you feel it should be):

Quotes (This is so you can give me a general idea of how they act, talk, and how you'd see them being written. A minimum of 4 is required.):

Other things that you must tell me (like if they have anything unique about their appearance, or if they can mega-evolve, stuff like that):

And the form for mercenary bands (Just put this form above the OCs that are in the team)
