Chapter 12: Arrival to the Earth Nation
The building of the wooden boat took a while to make but with the rest of the Forest Gormiti, the group all worked together to make sure the boat was stable enough to float on the ocean. When it was all finished, all of the kids admired the boat proudly. It was shaped like a boat would usually look with it wide seating and angular bow. Nevertheless, it was still missing something…
"Sails," Nick answered. "We need sails on top of the mast to guide us,"
"Not to fear young child, the winds of the Air Gormiti will help," one Forest Gormiti said. "They will guide you safely towards the Earth Nation,"
"Thank you!" Jessica beamed with brightness in her face.
"Do be careful though, the Lava Gormiti can be seen all around Gorm but surely you'll have enough strength to fight them," another Forest Gormiti warned the kids.
Toby nodded his head firmly. "We'll make sure we'll keep an eye out for them," he stated determinately. "You can count on us."
Nick began to push the boat into the ocean which was quite heavy considering how small he was. Lucas had offer to help Nick which was a bit of helpful effort according to Nick. Together the two boys used all their strength to finally allow the boat to float on the clear ocean.
"All aboard!" called out Lucas.
Carrying Razzle in her palms, Jessica tapped on Toby's shoulder to let him know it was time to go on the boat. He and Jessica both jumped into the boat while Nick and Lucas began to paddle using the two oars which were also made from wood.
"Good luck!" called out the Forest Gormiti, waving goodbye to the group.
Razzle gave a little lizard wave goodbye too. "I'll make sure I'll look after the kids well!" he declared. "Farewell!"
A little while later, the group were halfway through to the Earth Nation. Nick and Toby decided it would be best if they take turns in paddling to save their sore arms for aching. When it was Toby's turn to start paddling, Jessica's eyes started to notice something unusual.
"Is it just me or are there usually hot burning rocks in the ocean?" she observed.
Lucas glanced over the edge of the boat and saw that Jessica was right. Molten, crimson like rocks suddenly bobbed along the river like a stuck log. It looked quite ugly, almost decayed as if the water had somehow melted it.
Razzle immediately could tell what they were. "LAVA ROCKS!" He began to panic and ran around the boat, making it sway from side to side. "The Lava Gormiti know that you're here! Quick! Keep rowing!"
"Whoa! HEY!" Toby felt himself almost falling off the boat. Luckily, he grabbed onto the edge before almost tipping over. "Be careful, Razzle!" he trembled nervously.
"I hate to break the bad news to you even more, Tobe," his little brother warned him, grabbing the paddle. "But we got more of those rocks incoming!"
Soon enough, more lava rocks began heading towards the group's way, hitting the waves, and rocking the boat even more.
Jessica was starting to feel a little bit sick due to the rockiness of the waves. She felt she was about to throw up but couldn't. The mission was kept clear in her mind and throwing up isn't what she wanted right now. They have to get to the Earth Nation. And fast.
"Which is the quickest way to go?" cried out Lucas.
Nick kept on paddling on, despite the rockiness of the journey. "But where?" he panted, losing his breath in the process. "I can't see anything in this meteor storm!"
Toby had enough. "Pass the paddle to me!" he declared, grabbing another paddle, the one Lucas dropped due to the boat, and furiously started to paddle.
"Toby! What are you doing?" screamed Jessica, trying to avoid another lava meteor in the process.
"I'm trying to get us to the Earth Nation as quickly as I can!" he bellowed, paddling furiously through the rocky ocean. "We have to get there even if we don't have special abilities. We can do this!"
"Are you crazy Toby?" wailed Lucas. "We'll all drown if we carry on!"
Toby looked at Lucas straight in the eye. He gave him a determined smile, similar to what a hero would do despite the redness of his face from exhaustion from paddling.
"Remember when we said we'll save Gorm together?" he panted through his breathing. "I believe if we all work together, we'll get through this. Just trust me!"
Lucas felt his heart pumping faster for a moment in panic but Toby was right. They were on mission to save both worlds from destruction from the Fire Gormiti. And destruction was coming for them in which they must stop at all costs.
Finally, Lucas placed his hands into the water and started to make the boat go faster with his hands. The water did felt warmer due to the lava meteors coming swiftly through the air but he kept kicking the foamy wave nonetheless.
Jessica noticed what Lucas was doing. She also began to slowly placed her hands and found herself doing the same thing as Lucas was doing.
"That's the spirit!" cheered on Razzle, hiding in the seating of the boat. "Work together and it will work out perfectly!"
"That's exactly what I mean!" Toby replied back, proud of the group is doing. "Keep going!"
And that's what they did. Nick and Toby both paddled with the oars as fast as they could while Lucas and Jessica paddled swiftly using their hands. The lava meteors kept on coming and coming through the clear sky, some of them even landing in the boat which freaked Jessica out. Razzle quickly pushed it out of the way despite his tiny size. Unfortunately, it rolled around the boat, making tiny burn marks on the boat in process.
Nick suddenly saw a little island from his view. It was covered in a rocky terrain which showed colours of brownish and grey. 'That must be the Earth Region!' he thought excitedly.
"We're almost there!" he called out to the others, still doing their jobs. "Let's keep paddling!"
On Nick's command, the kids paddled the last little bit of ocean before they reached towards the edge of the rocky terrain.
But as soon as they were about to come out from the boat in exhaustion…
"LOOK OUT!"
The group heard what Lucas was saying when they saw a bigger lava meteor heading their way. This meteor was covering with burning fire this time round and look frightening with its golden ring and flaming tail behind it. It looked like it was heading straight towards the group due to its position.
Before anyone could say anything, the flaming meteor went straight towards them on the ground. It smashed onto the ground and flew everyone back. Then the world went black.
