Chapter 13: The Power Orbs

Meanwhile at Fire Mountain…

"The intruders you have said are being taken off, my lord," Lavion proudly declared to Magmion.

Magmion felt relieved to hear the news. "Excellent," he grinned devilishly through his sharp teeth. "Any other news that I should know?"

Lavion shook his head. "Since we had launched the meteor attack, there have been no more news, my lord. Although we did sent some Lava Soldiers after the intruders."

Magmion stroked his chin with his one clawed hand. "I see. Well, if that's the case then leave it be for a while." He began to return to his lair, arms crossed behind his back. "If these intruders are not gone permanently, I will have to take care of them myself…"

"Nick? Nick…can you hear me?"

Nick slowly opened his eyes to the sound of Toby's voice. Getting on his feet wearily, he realised that they were still on the rocky terrain before the meteor crashed in front of them. In front of him was a big black hole. That was probably where the meteor had landed.

'Wait!' The meteor! Nick had completely realised that a meteor was going to hit them before he passed out. His mind was going around trying to figure out what had happened when…

"Nick. Did you even hear me?"

There was Toby's voice again. Still, he had to make sure it was his older brother. He turned around and…

Toby was there alright but he was a bit…blurry? 'Of course!' Nick had completely forgot about his glasses during the process! Using only his hands, he patted on the ground to find them. Luckily for him, Toby found them quickly as he could.

"Here you go, I've found your glasses," he answered politely.

Nick almost gasped at the sight of his glasses in Toby's palm. "Oh! Thank you!" he replied, receiving the glasses and putting them back on.

Toby smiled at his younger brother's relief. "When we all woke up, I found them on the side next to you," he explained happily. "I thought I would give them to you when you woke up."

Nick brushed himself off from the dirt and sand that were stuck on him. "So, if you're awake, then that means-"

"We've arrived at the Earth Nation safely, kids," Razzle interrupted the two brothers' conversation. "And no one was hurt in the slightest which is good."

"And the boat?" Nick wondered.

Jessica and Lucas both arrived, both with disappointed looks on their faces.

"The boat got unfortunately destroyed after the lava meteor landed," Jessica declared to the brothers, sadly. She pointed to the edge of the terrain where a black and burnt boat was still standing. Its ashes still arose from the air following the meteor attack.

"What are we going to use now if we're unable to build another one?" asked an concerned Lucas, looking at the remains of the boat.

"We need to go the Earth Temple as soon as possible," addressed Razzle swiftly. He began to crawl up on one of the rocky mountains that were in front of the group. "Let's get moving then!"

The kids looked at each other wondering what the lizard was doing. Then with a confident look on their faces they began to climb up the mountains that lead to the Earth temple. Each grab from the smallest to the biggest rock allowed all four of them to keep going upwards. Some of the mountains were only small ledges that they hand to simply grab each other's hands to allow them to pull up onto the next ledge while other mountains were normal climbing ones.

They were more than halfway when Razzle suddenly raised a hand to the group, ordering them to stop. "Shhh!"

"What is it Razzle?" whispered Jessica.

"Footsteps," the lizard answered quietly. "It might be more Lava Gormiti coming!"

"What can we do?" demanded Toby.

Razzle used his lizard eyes to look around their current area, then spotted something in the distance. "You kids hide in that cave over there and stay safe. I'll make sure that if it's the Lava Gormiti, we need to run,"

Nick started to feel concerned for the lizard. "And what about you?" he hesitated.

"I'll be ok!" Razzle distributed. "I'm a lizard after all, now go quick!"

Without making any more fuss, the kids darted into the cave Razzle pointed and hid under it. Then the lizard dashed into the dusty view of the Earth Nation terrain.

All of the while, the kids remained into the cave as they were told to do so. Toby was patting his hands on his knees. Lucas was huddled into a little ball. Jessica felt her heart going faster and Nick kept a good eye out from the little cave.

So far everything seemed fine according to Nick. No Lava Gormiti in site. Just a bit of sandy whirls from all the dust and rocks that were in front of them. However, his mind was focused on whenever Razzle would return or not and he was getting nervous of it every second.

It wasn't until only a few minutes later after Razzle disappeared that a face appeared before the kids. They all began to scream at the sight of it.

"Whoa, wait kids! It's only me!" a shrill voice called out from the face.

Toby stopped screaming and saw it was only Razzle's face peeking out from the edge of the cave. He began to frown at the lizard. "Seriously? Did you have to do that Razzle?" he moaned.

Razzle didn't realize that he frightened the kids. "Oops! Sorry about that!" He calmed down after seeing the kids' angry faces. "Anyway, I'm come to collect you because you need to see this,"

"Is it more Lava Gormiti?" worried Jessica.

Razzle shook his lizard hands in front of him. "Well, the good new is that yes, there is no Lava Gormiti in sight but I think someone wants to see you." He jumped off the edge of the cave and went to front of it. "Follow me."

One by one, the kids slowly got out from their hiding cave and followed Razzle into a clearing. A figure appeared before them with a long, hooded clock that fell down to its feet. Its face was covered with the hood to remain anonymous and its eyes were the only thing that came out from it.

The eyes were aiming specifically towards the kids, knowing that their arrival in Gorm was important. Everyone was amazed but at the same time shocked by the figure's appearance.

"Ah, I was expecting you," the figure's voice said. It was deep, mysterious but overall, sounded very much wise.

"Expecting us?" questioned Toby, unsure of what the figure said.

It then nodded his head nobly. "Yes. I have been watching you four since you have landed in Gorm for the first time. You have shown bravery and courage within your journey at this moment and therefore it shows you are determined to bring peace back to this land."

"That's right," admitted Nick with confidence. "Although we kinda had a bit of trouble at the moment."

"Do you know what we have to do now?" requested a concerned Jessica.

The figure placed what looked like a finger on its chin and began to stroked it for a few seconds. It then stopped and placed its finger back down again.

"Unfortunately, I can't say anything that you have to in this moment," it answered with sorrow in his voice. It then suddenly changed into a more helpful tone. "But….it seems to be that you need a little bit of power to help you on your quest."

The figure suddenly waved his arms across which produced a glowing light from its palms. The light was so bright that nearly all of the kids shielded their eyes to avoid getting blinded by it. As soon as it was over, everyone carefully opened their eyes and gasped at by what the light was showing them.

In front of the light and the figure were four different coloured orbs; each one representing a different element of nature in Gorm. On the orbs were a different symbol which also represent an element of nature. The light from the figure's hands shone on the orbs like a sparkling jewel.

"The time to use these orbs is near at hand," the figure announced towards the astonished kids. "Bear them and use them well and wisely." It went over to grab one of the orbs. "I'll start with the youngest one first."

"Youngest one?" whispered Toby unsurely. "What does it mean by youngest one?"

"I think he means me," whispered Lucas back at Toby before the figure's voice interrupted the two.

"Lord of Nature Lucas."

Upon hearing his name, Lucas stepped forwards towards the figure, who gave him a green orb with the symbol of a tree.

"I see you care about the trees and the plants much as in your heart. You will be responsible for the powers of the strong and wise forest and it will be your guide whenever you go."

Lucas stared at the green orb in front of him. Having the powers of the forest seemed amazing to him, being able to control all of the trees around him at his will. Still, he would have to be careful to use this incredible power he now had.

Bowing down to the figure, Lucas replied: "Thank you," and went back to his spot.

"Lord of Nature Jessica," the figure said next, causing Jessica to step forward into where Lucas was before. The figure presented her with a sky-blue orb with the symbol on what appeared to be a whirlwind or hurricane on it.

"You are definitely a dreamer as far as I can tell, but I see you as being too fragile sometimes, even in perilous situations. The light and powerful winds shall be yours to keep but be warned; sometimes the force of the winds will be determined on how you use it."

Jessica let out a soft smile at the sight of her orb, which was creating little mini tornados inside. She wondered if she could create tornadoes herself with this power. That would make her confident that she was before.

With a bow and a thank you message, she returned to her spot.

The brothers looked at each other in question. "Who do you think is next?" Toby whispered to his younger brother.

Upon hearing his name, Nick turned his eyes towards the figure but whispered back to Toby; "I think that's me."

Nick stood in front of the figure so that it would give him his orb. What he received was an orangey-golden orb with the symbol of a singular mountain.

"Lord of Nature Nick, it appears to me that you seemed to be the smartest one of the four. I think that you will be able to deal with a strong element just like your strong brain. Therefore, the power of the mountains and the ground below you shall be yours to command."

Nick's eyes looked at the ground below him and then his orb. 'Powers from the Earth' he thought to himself curiously. It was interesting for him to have the strongest power in all with controlling rocks and creating mountains but he also was surprised that he would be the one doing all the lifting if the group gets trapped or stuck.

Giving a thank you message to the figure, Nick went back to his spot and tapped on Toby's shoulder.

"You're up last," Nick urged Toby.

With a gulp his throat, upon the figure calling his name, Toby stepped forward in nervousness. Once he stood in front of the figure, he gained the last one which was blue and had a symbol of waves.

"Lord of Nature Toby. I see you are willing to save Gorm. As you know I have one orb left and I think it suits you. You will be in control of all waves and the oceans around you as sometimes they can be rough just like you are. But I hope you will use it wisely to your advantage."

Toby felt those words to his head as impressive. At the same time, he did feel a bit embarrassed by the fact the figure called him rough. Nevertheless, he looked at his water orb in which waves crashed against the side of the orb which didn't break. Toby was still amazed by the fact that he now has the power to control water which was an incredible power in his eyes.

"I…um…thank you," he mustered from the shock and amazement before going back next to Nick.

"I'm afraid this is where I leave you for now," the figure addressed, turning its back towards the kids, now holding a staff in its hand. "I am sure your guide Razzle will help you on your journey to restore peace to Gorm. And remember: use your orbs and powers wisely and carefully." A puff of smoke suddenly appeared from behind it as it tapped its staff on the ground. "Farewell Lords of Nature. I hope we meet again one day."

And then, just as he appeared mysteriously, the hooded figure vanished into the scenery of the Earth Nation in a bright spark of light.
