Chapter 14: Back to the Forest Nation
As soon as the figure disappeared, the kids looked down at their orbs. They all felt a share of mixed emotions from amazement to shocked and surprised. Did the figure really just call them the Lords of Nature? It was shocking but still, the title still got a little confused in all of their heads.
"Lords of Nature?" Nick finally answered, still trying to get his brain to process what happen. "But…I thought the previous Lords of Nature vanished for good."
Razzle landed on Nick's shoulder. "You're correct. The previous Lords of Nature did vanish but never came back," he corrected him. "But at the moment, there are no Lords to protect Gorm."
"Which is why the figure gave us these orbs," acknowledged Lucas, looking at his Forest orb. "So…what do we do now?"
Razzle gave the group a sigh. "At the moment, you all need to access the orbs' full power in order for you to fight the Lava Gormiti. So unfortunately that does mean we need to split up to do so,"
"Spilt up?" doubted Toby, almost dropping his Water orb in shock. "And how do you suppose we do that if we're all not together then?"
"All of you will need to go over to the area that your orbs represent for the power to work," Razzle explained to them carefully, hopping off Nick's shoulder in the process. "Once that's done, we need to come back here so we can discuss our next plan to restore peace to Gorm."
"That all sounds good but what shall we do when the orbs' powers are working?" asked Jessica, who was still a little bit concerned.
All Razzle did was gave a wink to Jessica. She wondered if he was trying to tell a secret to her or all of the kids but she knew it would be best not to discuss it at the moment.
The kids went into a circle to decide who should go first. For a moment, they didn't know which one of them should go, until Lucas stepped forward.
"I'll go," he announced nervously. "I am the youngest one and plus I was the one who received my orb first by the figure." He raised his eyes at the group more seriously than before. "So, it's best for me to get my orb's power first."
"A very sensible choice, Lucas," concluded Razzle with a smile on the lizard's face. "In than case then, you will need to go back into the Forest Nation so you can get your powers there,"
"But how can I get across with no boat this time?" wondered Lucas with a concern look on his face.
Razzle once again gave a wink. "That's when you come in Nick."
Nick pointed a finger at himself for a second. "Me?"
"Use the Earth Orb to create a path of Lucas to go to the Forest," instructed Razzle, pointing to the edge of the dusty terrain. "Ready?"
Nick wasn't sure if he was ready to use his orb but if he wanted to help Lucas get to the Forest Nation and bring peace, then this is what he had to do. Holding out his Earth orb in front of him, it began to glow with an orange glow. Soon enough, big pieces of rock and stone began to form into a stone bridge. Nick was amazed by the tiny bit of construction it took from all of these stones by the bottom of the land to build a bridge. He wondered if he could do that when it was his turn to gain power from his orb.
Once the bridge had finished building, Lucas began to take a step on it.
"Good luck Lucas," called Razzle from behind him. "Remember not matter where you are, we will always be there to help you if we can."
Lucas suddenly felt his heart warming upon hearing Razzle's words. At the same time, he did feel uneasy about going back to the Forest Nation without the help of the others. Nevertheless, he was a huge nature lover and back on Earth, he usually helped with cleaning up the rubbish that the kids left behind at school or help planting new trees in the Venture Falls park. Therefore he had to do what is right within his heart and the nature surrounding it.
Taking a deep breath and clutching onto his orb, Lucas started to walk across the bridge.
From behind him, the others cheered and waved him off.
"Do you think he's going to be ok?" questioned Jessica, feeling worried about her friend.
Razzle skidded over to Jessica's foot in which he hugged it with his tail. "You know Jessica, it may be your turn soon to get power for your orb," he reassured her gently. "All I can say to your and the boys is to just trust me when I say that Lucas will be fine." They both looked across the bridge where Lucas was walking when Nick and Toby both stood beside her.
"And…" Razzle added. "I really hope that he'll be able to come back even strong to help us restore peace to Gorm."
When Lucas arrived at the edge of the Forest Nation, he could still see that the trees were still standing as strong as they were before. The bushy bushes were still as green and so was the dusty road. 'At least that's good' he thought positively. Lucas also noticed that his orb began to glow a green colour but only weakly. He thought that is was not time yet to access the power but still, maybe asking a few Forest Gormiti might be able to help him a bit.
Still grabbing on to the orb tightly, Lucas carried on walking through the forest. It wasn't long before he found Sliva and the other Forest Gormiti all having a conversation.
He raced towards them carefully. "Um, excuse me?" he began to call out. "Can anyone hear me for a second?"
No Forest Gormiti listened to his call which made Lucas a bit furious. All he wanted to do was to help others when he was back on Earth so why won't the Forest Gormiti help him now?
He decided to try somewhere until a voice stopped him in his tracks.
"Excuse me, weren't you one of the kids from earlier?"
Lucas immediately recognised that voice when he turned around. 'Sliva!' He was still there after the group left the Forest Nation on the boat! Lucas could not be more happy to see the old Forest Gormiti again.
"It seemed that you have returned to the forest once again child," Sliva answered, turning himself away from the conversation but his bark eyebrow raised when he saw only Lucas standing in front of him. "But…. why is there only one of you?"
Lucas shrugged his shoulders before answering Sliva's question. "Umm. About that. I guess I'm here because…"
"Have you forgotten we're in a discussion!?" one Forest Gormiti shouted from the circle.
Lucas felt a knot in his stomach at the sound of the voice. He was worried that his own kind of Gormiti was being mean to him for disrupting the conversation they just had. 'Think!' he thought to himself. 'There has to be a way for me to talk to them without disturbing the conversation!'
And that's when he noticed about his orb.
Lucas took a deep breath before stepping beside Sliva and went to the Forest Gormiti who had just shouted. "Ok. Before you shout any further, I have something to say,"
"Really? Say it aloud!"
Lucas took one more look at the Forest Orb before showing it to the rest of the Forest Gormiti. "As I saw saying to Sliva before you rudely interrupted, I am back in the forest because I'm the new-"
"Lava Gormiti Attack!" called Sliva suddenly. "RUN!"
