Chapter 19: The Sea of Gorm
Toby though he was going on a wild roller coaster due to his wrist being grabbed by the sea solider. The force of the wave currents made him a little bit sick but he kept it in his stomach for the time being. Being sea-sick was not a good way to the Sea Gormiti at all. For the moment, all he had to do was kept a good eye on his orb in case it fell out of his hands…and into the ocean.
Toby did his best to kick his legs since that what swimmers usually intended to do. They sometime felt stiff but Toby knew he had to keep kicking as if he was a Sea Gormiti himself.
Soon he and the sea solider arrived at what looked like a Gormiti version of a sea palace. It had dark aquamarine spirals which looked like bits of rock or coral that served as the base of the palace. Toby could see tiny pink bits of coral sticking out from the side of the base which was meant for decoration. There was a cave that severed as an easy entrance to any Sea Gormiti that wished to enter it. Toby was amazed by this scenery, he could even see the sea plants that were growing from the entrance which some he gave a tiny wave to him.
Entering into the palace, famous statues of Sea Gormiti was etched and carved into the walls, including the previous Lord of Sea. Toby had to clasp his hand over his mouth when saw that statue.
"I see you found the previous Lord of Sea," the sea solider said solemnly to him. "He was a strong but protective Lord for all of us." It lowered its head to give it respect.
Toby suddenly felt a little sorry for all of the Sea Gormiti. Having lost their Lord from almost 100 years seemed like a long time. It was almost like…the many times he almost lost Nick when they were little. Nick would always play in the sand pit in park until it was time to go home and Toby would always asked Nick to come back but Nick was too focused by the grains in the sand. But soon Nick would have to catch up to the family, almost crying because he almost got lost. Good thing Toby was always there to comfort his younger brother.
But now, Toby was thinking about the previous Lord of Sea. Soon, it will be his turn to become one. 'I hope I'll be fine when I transform,' he wondered curiously.
"We're almost there!" called out the sea solider. "Quickly, now!"
Toby, still gripping his orb, swan past the statue of the Sea Lord and carried on following the sea solider. Going past through dark caves were quite difficult but the sea solider had a light to guide them. That at least allowed Toby to calm down a bit.
After a few minutes of swimming, the sea solider stopped at another cave, but it was closed.
"What is this?" asked Toby.
"This is the only place we know that can help you with your situation," explained the sea lord, lowering its head. "Once you enter this place, there is a fountain full of pure sea water. Place the thing you have into it and then you will gain its power."
"The sea solider is right Lord of Nature Toby," the hooded figure's voice rang in Toby's mind. "I sense a fountain nearby within the place. Go forwards and place in the powerful waters that would soon become your own."
When the hooded figure's voice left his head, Toby nodded at the sea solider. "Alright," he said with determination in his voice. "Open the door for me."
"As you wish," the sea solider answered with dignity. He pressed the stone button beside the cave and slowly the door began to open. From what Toby could see, it was complete darkness through the cave. Now he was a little bit frightened even more that spiders back on Earth. Still, he just hopped that orb might give him one tiny bit of ability to breathe if he was to do this.
Gathering up his courage and sweeping his fears away, Toby swam into the cave before the door loudly slammed behind him.
Nick was still running from the sudden earthquake that disrupted his rest. It was hard to do so due to the rumbling of the ground that almost made him jump with shock. Nevertheless, he decided to keep on running until he could run no more.
Soon the bounces of the earthquake became far too difficult for Nick to keep up. Every step he took the seismic vibrations became too hard for his foot to land on properly. Now he was becoming concerned about his orb breaking big time. He had to think of something. But how?
Nick looked in all directions to find something that had not got seismic attacks. Wiggling his glasses, he observed the area with his orb still clutched around his arms. It wasn't long until he spotted one little ledge that was the only one not shaking. 'That's the one!' he thought excitedly.
Taking tiny step cautiously, Nick went over to the little ledge and carefully took one leg at a time to pull himself up. Luckily, he managed to do so before the entire block of earth collapsed in front of him. 'Phew! That was too close!'
Seeing the debris in front of him made Nick felt sick to his stomach. He wondered if he did transform, what this cause more damage? Imagined if he fell from a very large cliff in his Super Gormiti form? It would cause a massive earthquake, even bigger than the one that happened just now. Nick fell immediately into a small ball, stuck in his doubts and thoughts.
Just when we was about to break down. A voice came into his head.
"Are you ok, Lord of Nature Nick?"
That was the voice of the hooded figure that they met earlier. Nick realised it from its tone. He wiped his glasses clean, still covered in dirt.
"It's just…" Nick began, almost sighing in disappointed with himself. "I just don't know if I can do this…" He almost felt like breaking down saying that.
"Don't ever doubt yourself," answered the hooded figure's voice back at Nick. "There's a reason you came to Gorm in the first place and I believe you are the most important part along with the other Lords."
Nick's eyes widened at that fact. 'The most important?' But…what did the hooded figure mean by that? "Why do I need to know that? Is there anymore you can tell me?" he asked, worriedly.
"Head over towards the Earth Temple and find out for yourself," the hooded figure's voice replied back.
But before Nick could ask anymore, the voice vanished.
He immediately started to get back on his feet, grabbing his orb in the process. He was still having the tiniest of doubts but nevertheless, the hooded figure was right. Nick had to go to the Earth Temple fast before all of Gorm is doomed by the Lava Gormiti.
Picking himself off from where he sat, Nick continued his journey towards the Earth Temple.
