Mission 1: The Reunion.
Text in bold is meant to represent "ingame" things like text prompts or "tutorials".
Someone is running through a city bright sword in hand, he's quickly scouting the area, trying to see if it is empty, then in an alleyway sees a few demons suddenly hiding, he smirks, and jumps towards there, his sword is suddenly covered by a red glow for half a second, as it turned into a heavy ax, which was promptly slammed into the ground, causing a tremor that threw the demons hiding.
The creatures retaliated, a bulky red one wearing a helm covering its head, with a big glowing arm rushed at the man, and punched the ground, causing an explosion on contact, but the person seemed to disappear in a flash of light as he was now meters away, he threw a Whip towards the big demon, catching it by the explosive arm, and was propelled towards it, landing a good kick and throwing the demon to others, the arm making contact and exploding.
Suddenly another demon that seemed to be transparent appeared behind the guy, and was about to slash with its claws, the axe glows blue for half a second now, and turned into a long Scythe, without even turning towards the foe, the man slashed backwards, countering the claws and the creature turned fully visible, and with a quick spinning motion, was cut in half by the scythe.
The man sees a group of small flying demons going towards him, each with glowing stomaches from which they were going to throw bombs, the man brought out two guns, one in each hand, and with careful aiming fired exactly 6 bullets, each hitting the demons right in the stomach and making them explode.
"Really? You assholes got nothing at this point, so how about we call it a day already so I can have some dinner?" The man spoke, extending his arms in a taunting manner.
Three portals suddenly appeared at the sides of the snarky person, knowing what is about to come, he quickly jumped, evading 3 blades that were about to hit him as he looked at the white and red humanoid, agile demons below him, the scythe glows and turns into a pair of shurikens, which he threw in big amount to the enemies, the three went to a defensive stance and blocked the projectiles, deflecting them, but he knew they would do this, and his hands were suddenly covered by red gauntlets, he dives down and punches his own shurikens back to the demons using awesome strength, the punches also made fiery bursts that covered the projectiles in fire, this broke the stance of the enemies as they were hit.
Approaching the small stun, the skilled man landed, but not before punching the ground hard with his fists, causing a tremor that shatters the ground in a circle, the sword wielder demons were thrown back, and while they are in the air, the guy brings back his sword as a glow appears on it, then throws a wide beam to each enemy, slicing them in half.
"Well, I don't think they can throw much more at me, I'm going home now." He said with a cocky smile as his weapon disappears.
White hair, a coat deep black outside and bright red inside, a white jacket below with a light blue hoodie, dark blue leather jeans and big black boots, this is Dante, Son of Sparda.
Dante takes a bus with some people, which is clearly an improvement from before, since for obvious reasons, humans would be afraid to just go outside, eventually the bus stops near the city's outskirts, and Dante makes his way back to a beautiful mansion, when he opens the door, he's received by a girl with brown hair, blue eyes, orange clothes and a light blue hoodie hanging low.
Walking behind her, is a young kid, who seems to be 5 years old, he has black hair, though a tiny bit of white in the front, wearing a purple shirt, blue pants and red sport shoes, his expression seems to be reserved for the most part, but he's happy on this moment.
"Well, how was the hunt today?" Kat asked to Dante, her husband.
"About the same as the other days this week, they barely have any tricks left, I've seen about everything that they can do in those six years, and lately they barely have appeared, ha, those sons of-" Dante was very quickly interrupted by Kat, which looked at the kid.
"Right, right, sorry Nero, I know I said I will try to have a more "clean mouth." Dante said with a small shake of his head.
"And yet you keep doing it, when Nero is able to begin school, he can't just follow his dad on this aspect." Kat reminded him.
"Hey, when I managed to go to some classes while being by myself, everyone else was in awe at what I could say." Dante answered smiling.
Kat just shakes her head.
But before the family could do anything else, everything began to shake, like if a massive quake just hit the nice mansion.
"What? There were no quake warnings for today!" Dante exclaimed, and then he noticed how Kat touched her head in pain.
"Dante... the defenses! They are down!" She suddenly exclaimed, Dante looked in surprise and through a window... demons began to appear around in the outside.
"No way, we protected the place with the best we got! Kat, you and Nero hide, they shouldn't just be able to stumble upon you, and try to make some protections on where you hide!" Dante ordered, as his sword appeared, and jumped through the window to outside.
Begin Mission.
Kick some ass as Dante!
Dante is well prepared with tools from his previous adventure, and has two modes: One with fast and nimble weapons, which is the Angel Mode, and another about making things explode with all powerful but slower weapons, Demon Mode, try your hand at using many options to look stylish and kill every demon in sight!
The demons that appeared... were not ones that Dante was familiar with, there were many of Dante's size, very slim body and broken down and looked more like some red mass, and in their hands wielded... two of their own long veins coming from their body as if they were some short whips.
Poena.
Up in the air were some decently tall sleek white demons with very bright red bat-like wings... they were made out of blood, each hand with sharp claws and wielding pairs of throwing daggers.
Lotus.
"Well, some news, but I don't care about that, on the other hand, I care about you just coming into my house, so I will kindly ask you to screw off!" Dante exclaimed angrily, ready to fight.
The Poenas moved very slowly, nearly to a crawl, and started to head towards Dante, the Lotus on the other hand lost no time, and daggers started to be thrown at Dante, he casually rolled out of the way of some, and slashed with his sword, Rebellion, right out of the roll, sending a couple back to the flying demons, making it move in pain, Dante turned the sword into a white whip, and threw it to that demon, grabbing onto it, as Dante pulled himself towards the Lotus, uppercutting it even further above, his guns began to glow, and he finished off that demon with a big and powerful blast.
Another flying demon went to him while he was up there in the air and tried to slash the Nephilim with the daggers, but he shifted his body and moved out of the way to dodge, and then began to slash at the demon with his sword, before getting his gauntlets and doing a powerful fiery downwards punch, sending it to the ground and turning it into paste, Dante landed.
The Poenas were there, they moved their arms, and surprisingly the whipping was quite faster than their regular movement, and the veins extended, Dante rolled below a "whip", and slashed with Rebellion, cutting it off, and the demon made a pained sound.
"Shut up." Dante said, throwing a big Shuriken towards that demon, keeping it in place for several seconds as the weapon spins in that spot, until eventually that demon is in pieces.
Those lesser demons were around Dante, but he let them approach, and when he saw their arm movements to attack, he summoned his Scythe, Osiris, and did a spinning attack that propelled him and his foes to the air, Dante slashed with Osiris at the closest one, then did yet another spin mid air to bring them even further above, he shifted his Shurikens, Aquila, and threw many of them in a circle, and then they returned like some kind of boomerangs, bringing the group of airbone Poenas closer to him, he brings his Eryx Gauntlets, and focuses energy for a second, before slamming downwards, bringing himself and the enemies back to the ground, as they crash hard and his punch makes the nearby surroundings shake, and those demons were destroyed.
More demons suddenly came in, seems to be the air support, since it was more Lotus, and some Bathos, the small flying demons with glowing bomb-throwing-stomach that Dante killed earlier, speaking of bombs, one landed right by his feet, he jumped to evade the blast in a small area.
"You are nothing more than some fancy targets, bring it on." He said confidently, pulling out his guns, Ebony and Ivory, and aiming up, starting to fire barrage after barrage of bullets to the flying demons, which did short work of most Bathos, though the demons would keep throwing their own things too, making Dante step away, at one point the demons were positioned quite perfectly, and fired a big shot that bounced off the demons and hit all of them, stunning them a bit, then he jumped with the guns by his sides and started to spin, quickly firing bullets while spinning to hit everyone, like a tornado that found a machine gun, soon enough, they were dead.
"And you managed to break here, how exactly?" Dante asked, not feeling really afraid of any demon that might come.
Suddenly, a portal appeared in front of Dante, and from there steps out, a quite menacing demon.
It was one head taller than Dante, wearing a full suit of white armor with a royal blue cape, the head was uncovered, it was shaped like a human's, but with white scales, and some blue scales around the eyes, which were glowing and white. It was apparently unarmed.
"Dante..." The demon said, glaring straight at the son of Sparda, voice was deep and sounded like it echoed, and didn't show any emotion.
"Well, you look important and just a bit strong now, are you the one that destroyed the defenses?" Dante asked, moving his arms around.
"So long fighting with trash, you are not prepared." The demon said, ignoring Dante's question.
"Answer me damnit!" Dante exclaimed, firing a bullet towards the demon's head, but something white flashed just in front and blocked the bullet, before disappearing.
"Huh, got some tricks at least, well, this should be mildly fun." Dante said, holding Rebellion.
One second the demon was there, another he had suddenly appeared in front of Dante, as the demon slayer quickly received a punch to the gut that knocked him back.
Dante decided to get payback, and brought Eryx to his hands as he ran towards the armoured foe, who tried to uppercut him, but Dante quickly did a backstep, followed by a quick dash with a punch... and his fist bounced off the armor.
"What the!?" He exclaimed, he didn't notice from the armor the same thing as when he fights demons with a special weakness to his demon or angel weapons, it was just, strong.
With the stagger from the punch bouncing the Nephilim, the demon uppercuts him to the air, before jumping and doing a dive kick that hit Dante and slammed him back to the ground, Dante actually lost breath for a second, that really hurt.
"Who even are you? Shouldn't a knight be honourable?" He asked standing up, he wouldn't be done so easily, he quickly threw the white whip, trying to grab the demon knight... until the knight grabbed the whip by the tip with a hand, and forcefully pulled Dante towards himself and then kicked him, making Dante fall backwards.
"That shit hurts, congratulations, now die." Dante said, bringing back Rebellion.
Then he goes towards the demon and jumped, the enemy threw a punch at Dante, but suddenly he jumped once again mid air and dodged it, and turned Rebellion into the Axe, Arbiter, before dropping below with it, the full weight of the axe falling over the lizard head... and besides moving it a bit downwards, it seems like it did as much as a medium sized rock.
Dante walked back, that was one of his most powerful moves and it barely did anything, then he thought that he should absolutely show this demon his own true Demon power too... but an armored hand suddenly came to him and grabbed him by the neck, and he dropped his weapon.
"Pathetic, after all this time, I must confess I am... disappointed." The demon said, extending his arm and bringing Dante further away.
Suddenly, Dante noticed something around him... a dozen white swords with a blue aura were in a circle around his chest, staying in place, and about to move.
He recognized those swords.
"Wait... are... you..." He managed to say.
The demon actually smiled, and slammed Dante into the ground, the floating swords right above him, just inches away from his body, the demon began to glow...
The armor disappeared, on its place, ragged black and blue clothes with glowing white stripes, spiky silver hair, glowing white eyes, and a white aura around his body.
"It's been six years Dante, you actually killed me... brother, but I guess I should thank you, without a short visit to hell, I wouldn't be standing here now as the demon king that surpassed Mundus... and you." Vergil said smiling to his brother.
