Mission V1: The Plan.
Vergil furiously stepped out of the portal, he was usually able to keep his cool and get this angry, but this was deserved on his opinion.
"This was a trick, they had been watching and waited for a moment where they thought I was "distracted and vulnerable", it's obvious, those stupid ANGELS!" Vergil claimed, the demons that were around tried to step away seeing him like this, but the angry king had unsheathed Yamato for half a second and slashes a Tyrant that was nearby, then sheathed it again, the big demon was now just a tenth of the demon he once was.
"I had him, Dante was about to die, and they took this satisfaction away from me." No demon was close to Vergil, they knew they'll be killed in an instant... but then a vibrant female voice spoke.
"My king, but maybe not all is lost, even if the angels saved Dante from your finishing blow, it's very likely that with those wounds, he will just join us soon down here." The voice said.
Vergil looked at the direction of the voice, and just did a small nod, as sign for the one talking to come closer.
And forward steps a demon completely made out of fire, she had no expression, as she had no face, two blazing wings were by her side.
"I assure you, soon there will be reports of Dante's presence on hell, and then you can have your fun." She had, and suddenly started to laugh madly.
"You might be right, Argosax, still disappointing that I won't get to see Dante die with my own eyes, but not all is lost." Vergil said to the demon calming down.
The laughter stopped, as more wings suddenly appeared on Argosax's back, forming a sun shape behind her now.
"I'm glad to help, my lord, and now that the angels have done this to us, it might be a good time to go with the plan?" He said with a deep voice.
"For too long they have resisted us ever since Heaven got closer to Earth same way Limbo fused with it, our power should be enough, and besides, I have this." Vergil pulled out his brother's Rebellion.
"Rebellion... a fine sword, with both weapons and Dante out of the path, you should be unstoppable." Argosax said, tone and wings changing mid sentence by the point she said Dante..
"I want to get powerful with my, dear brother's sword, I have seen its many tricks." Vergil ordered, smoothly turning the sword into a scythe, the demon understood.
"I will set up a good amount of demons so you can have some fun." He said with a bow.
"Very well, you are dismissed." Vergil stated.
After the demons left, Vergil just kept staring at Rebellion, his brother's power was now his, and this made him smile, his brother is weaker than he is, but still stronger than nearly every demon he has under his role, so having this just felt, good.
A Stygian shakily approached Vergil, and he assumed it's done and walks off, the demon sighed of relief, as he believed he was going to die from this.
Vergil reached the zone, and looked at what the fire demon had prepared, it was decent, an ascending course with several big jumps, and many platforms in which demons could appear, of course nothing is a challenge for Vergil, but still any type of training will just make him stronger, and he just wanted to test Rebellion.
Unleash Vergil's Power!
Like the much weaker Dante, Vergil can alternate between Demon and Angel mode for different options, though when wielding Yamato, he switches between Stances instead with their uses, but swapping to Vergil's Rebellion, he can alternate between all of Dante's former weapons, and swap the Demon or Angel weapon currently fused into the sword.
Vergil began to run and jumped, then teleported upwards to get height, and proceeds to dash mid air to reach the next platform, there many Stygians, several Poenas, and a few Ravagers with their Chainsaws appeared.
Vergil decided to begin with Yamato for this first wave, he will switch later to Rebellion, he started with a Rapid Slash, slashing through many enemies several times in half a second so fast the slashes stayed a second when he got through, he jumped and used a dive kick towards one of the Stygians, and did a follow up attack with the kick doing an upwards spinning kick that launched the demon upwards, he threw a light blue sword at it, which teleported Vergil right in front of that Stygian, as he uses a Helm Breaker, slamming down with his sword, before bouncing on the enemy mid move, throwing a red downwards blast towards it, teleporting up, throwing a second blast, then quickly plunging and stabbing the ground with the katana, making a shockwave.
He heard the sound of a chainsaw turning on, and didn't even look towards that direction, he held Yamato over the ground as it glows while charging with energy, when the sound is nearby, Vergil stabs the ground with the katana, creating a quite big explosion that sent the Ravager flying upwards, he began firing Summoned Swords at it to keep the demon mid air, and focused on other things in the ground, he did a wide multi spin attack to hit several targets, did a short hop to throw a blue circular projectile to the other Ravager, then he stopped firing swords and charged energy on Yamato, and the exact moment the airbone chainsaw demon touched the ground... it was instantly cut dozens of times from every direction as space is torn apart a bit, Judgement Cut, a classic.
This group of demons was dead and Vergil kept going, suddenly he noticed the ground crack, and he fired a light blue sword to a different platform to bring himself there before the one he was on broke in pieces, he kept moving and there was nothing to stand on after, but he just fired a red sword to a further away platform, and instead of teleporting himself to it, he teleported the platform in front of him to jump on.
This platform was smaller, and around appeared a group of Bathos, ready to throw.
"Don't think you will touch me."Vergil said after seeing them.
Light Counter and Furious Counter.
If standing still in place you shift to either Vergil's Angel or Demon Stance using Yamato, and press Dodge, Vergil will do a short block to nullify most attacks, now, if you do so at the exact moment something would hit Vergil, he can do a special counter which varies depending on Stance.
A successful counter will work against every attack and make Vergil invincible during the counter itself, and he has 2 counters in each mode, one for close enemies, and one for opponents attacking from afar, Angel Stance's Light Counters are basically instant and will allow you to retaliate right away, while Demon Stance's Furious Counters are much slower and can be interrupted if hit during charging, but also are some of the most powerful attacks Vergil can use.
A Bathos threw a bomb at Vergil, he has seen this attack so much already, he stood still, and right when it was about to impact, Yamato glows blue for a second as Vergil quickly brought it in front of himself, the bomb bounced off and right away Vergil fired a vertical circular blast towards the flying demon, destroying it.
The Bathos flies around Vergil from a "safe" distance, then finally one that was positioned behind him threw a bomb, the son of Sparda let it come, and turned back at the last second, Yamato glowing red as he bounces off the projectile, the katana charged up energy for nearly two seconds, and fired a triple blast, red and pretty big, that instantly evaporated the demon with just the first one.
From there, Vergil just killed the rest by throwing a few swords, and proceeds.
The next platform was incredibly far, and there only were a few rocks floating around, Vergil leaps and throws a light blue sword to one, teleporting himself there, then gets through by teleporting from rock to rock, reaching the next.
And he was received by a horde of weak demons, all in the ground, and a couple of Ravagers, he smirks, seems like this is the last training fight and the end is near.
A Ravager turns on a chainsaw and is the first to attack, right when Vergil was close to being cut, he put Yamato in front of him as it glowed blue, blocking at the last moment and making the demon step back from the bounce, and right away he performed a super fast triple slash that send back the demon.
"Time to use this..." Vergil said, sheathing Yamato, and bringing out Rebellion.
The weight and form of this blade is different from the Katana he's used to, but he knows he'll master it right away, if a simpleton like Dante can use it in such a skilled way, Vergil can do it better.
In the blink of an eye, he teleported while running and did a super quick forward stab, he had already improved his brother's Stinger technique now.
Many Stygians came his way, Vergil catalyzed his angel side onto the sword, and its shape now changed into the scythe Osiris, with finesse he brings it forward and grabs one of the demons by the tip, before doing a strong slash and throwing it to the group of demons coming at him, knocking them all back, Vergil felt a bit more power coming from the weapon after the attack and realizes.
"You feed off from my enemies? Then you will get incredible power." He said, and like with his Yamato move, he performs multiple spins with Osiris, since that would hit a lot of enemies to power it up, and indeed, the scythe started to glow after not long.
"Now, let's unleash it." Vergil said, as he raises the Scythe, and a big half moon shaped blast, as big as Vergil, quickly moved through the ground, and killed many demons thanks to storing that much energy before the attack being performed.
A group of Poenas was coming to him, he went from the scythe, to the shurikens Aquila, he teleports out of the way of the whips, and slices off several with some shuiken throws, then he jumped towards a demon and did a quick vertical spin with Aquila sticking out, slicing several times, then landed and began to spin super fast like a tornado, moving around and eventually even gaining some height and hovering over the ground, killing all the Poenas in group.
Another Ravager came to him, trying to cut him to pieces, but Vergil decided to go all out with power, he blocked the chainsaw by suddenly unsheathing Yamato as it glows red, charged energy for second and half, then released the energy with a red explosion around Vergil, the demon was knocked up and was just about to die, and Vergil changed Rebellion into the axe Arbiter, and slamming him down to the ground, pulverizing the enemy and making a shockwave that moved through the ground.
Vergil began to slam through the lesser demons around with a giant axe, and then tried something, and did a bunch of slams that were relatively faster but also weaker to hammer on a demon, and when it is on the ground along the axe after the last hit, he moves it up in a strong motion to end it.
Just one Ravager left, Vergil decided to have fun he rushed at the demon as he put on the Eryx gauntles and punched him in the chest with a fiery punch, then uppercutted him to the air, he jumped too and did his Yamato dive kick, used the follow up spinning upwards kick to bring it even further above, teleported up and slammed him down to the ground with Eryx, quickly teleported down and reached the ground before the Ravager and charged a punch, which he released with a burst of flames the moment it fell in front of him, they were all dead.
"Excellent job sir, you are using that new weapon as great as I had expected." A female voice called out to him, as Argosax flew close.
"Dante was not powerful enough... but he still carried great power." Vergil confessed.
"And on the topic of your brother... he has been seen in hell, around the prison of Eva." He informed, and Vergil actually smiled.
"Seems like you were right, I will pay him a visit, then start the plan, give them now to me." Vergil demanded, and Argosax showed something on her hand, black and red crystals, which Vergil takes.
