Pairing: Spock and Female James T. Kirk

Captain Jayme T. Kirk was suddenly being hit hard with her feelings for her First Office, Spock who was half-human and half-Vulcan. Why her secret feelings were hitting her really hard now; she didn't know. Was it because of the fact that her First Officer's other self from a different timeline or was it because of what Nyota Uraha told what had happen when Spock had seen her die?

Could he possibly have feelings for her as well? or Was it just the thought of losing her as friend?

Jayme had a lot of questions as to why her feelings for Spock were now wanting to surface. Was it because Spock had been standing there decked out in his uniform when Bones moved to check her after she had woken up from her coma like state?

None of this made sense and yet somehow it did make sense. Her feelings were now becoming more than just a crush while they have been on this five year mission. She couldn't believe it, she was falling in love with her first officer because she knew that he was in a relationship with Nyota Uraha.

Not to mention, the whole incident with the Mirror Version of themselves which was really strange in itself; because in the Mirror Verse, her and Spock had been mates or husband and wife while the same had been for Bones and Uraha.

She had to admit to herself that she had delt with a lot during their five year mission and that included an incident with Spock that was very personal in the Vulcan culture.

Now, here they were heading to Yorktown for some much needed shore leave and rest. Maybe, she would be able to deal with her feelings for her crush which was Spock and try to control the urge from telling him that she loved him because it scared her really considering that Spock was in a relationship with Nyota.

Somewhere else aboard the Enterprise...

Spock was walking through the corridors when he saw Nyota talking to Dr. McCoy. He hid himself as not to be seen and heard Nyota say, "Dr. McCoy, why does the avoid myself and Spock?"

"I'll I can say is that the Captain hasn't exactly been the same since that incident that involved our opposite selves on that mission. She won't speak of it but it was strange seeing their version of Spock with a beard." McCoy said.

Spock raised a brow at that.

Nyota gasped at hearing Spock had a beard and said, "But that still doesn't explain why the Captain is avoiding us?"

"Well to put it simply, the Mirror version of our Spock ended up calling Jayme, his beloved and Jayme tried to tell him that she wasn't his Jayme." McCoy said, "Then there was a mirror version of you, Nyota and you constly all over me. Quite frankly, Jayme and I were a little bit confused. Until Mirror Spock realized that we were from a different version of their universe if you will."

"What did this Mirror Spock and myself do?" Nyota asked.

"Well, they tried to get us back to you all but when we returned Jayme became lost in thought about something. As to why she's avoiding the two of you, I have no clue but it may have something to do with whatever the Mirror Spock said to her." McCoy stated.

"What did he say to her?" Nyota asked.

"I don't know because it was in Vulcan." McCoy stated.

"Dr. McCoy, are you saying that Captain Kirk understands Vulcan?!" Nyota said in shock.

McCoy nodded and said, "In fact, I think Jayme always understood Vulcan but never said anything about it."

"What makes you say that?" Nyota asked.

"Well, I may know some Jayme's past but not all of it. For one Nero was the one that killed her father when her father was the acting Captain of the USS KELVIN. She was born in a medical escape pod." McCoy said.

Spock was stunned to hear this but continued to listen.

"Today's Jayme's birthday as well as the anniversary of her father's death. Hopefully when we reach Yorktown; Jayme will find something to take mind off today." McCoy said.

Spock recalled Nero and how he had felt when Nero destroyed Vulcan as well as losing his mother; but Jayme had been there for him regardless of how she had taken over as Captain.

"Dr. McCoy, you don't think that Captain Kirk could be in love with Spock; do you?" Nyota questioned.

"I don't know, why?" McCoy said.

"Well call it woman's intuition but I think that may have had a secret crush on Spock and now her feelings are becoming something more and she's not sure what to do." Nyota said.

McCoy pondered a moment on what Nyota was saying.

"Besides, I get the feeling that mine and Spock's relationship was over the day that Jayme died and came back to us all." Nyota stated.

McCoy was shocked by what Nyota had just said

From his hiding place; Spock's human half was stunned to know that his Captain was in love with him while his Vulcan half was also stunned but wouldn't show it. To learn this made Spock wonder if he had fallen for his Captain as well and was why he and Nyota decided that they simply would not work for each other. Plus, it was Jayme's birthday as well as the anniversary of her father's death and he could probably imagine that his Captain was or had been dealing with the same emotions he had when he lost his mother and home planet of Vulcan but Earth was his home planet as well.

Spock's human half and Vulcan half decided well vowed to care deeply for Jayme because he already did when he lost absolute control of himself when Jayme had died which it sort of made since to him now because he had indeed fallen in love with his Captain and no one would take her from him again. So, he went to find the Captain.

Back with Jayme...

Jayme sighed as she thought about her First Officer and what would have been like in Uraha's place understanding Spock with whatever he needed. She figured that she should finally let Spock feel even though he probably didn't feel the same way.

Once they get to Yorktown that's exactly what she would do.

Suddenly, her she heard her door to her quarters chime and she wondered who it could be.

"Enter."

In walked Spock and he looked at her.

"Is there something you need, Mr. Spock?" Jayme asked.

"Captain, may we speak." Spock stated.

"Sure, we can talk, Spock." Jayme said.

"Captain, may I ask how you deal with what humans call 'confusion in the heart' at times?" Spock said.

Jayme was stunned at first but then said with a smile, "It takes time sometimes to understand what you're feeling and sometimes it's confusing, illogical, and you're not sure if you should act upon it or not. There are times when humans just go for it and then there are times when humans want to figure it out first before jumping in right away."

"Captain, may I try something to see if it will help this confusion in my heart?" Spock asked.

Jayme nodded but what she didn't expect was for Spock to suddenly give her a Vulcan kiss that she gasped with surprise from shock.

"Fascinating." was all Spock when he saw his Captain's reaction to the kiss.

Jayme blushed furiously from the Vulcan kiss.

"Captain, are you alright?" Spock asked.

"Yes, I-I was just surprised that's all, Spock." Jayme said.
