This is a little one shot based on Nikki's birthday that was only mentioned in 'Familiar Faces.' So sad they didn't do anything with it.

Jack slowly wakes up, he groans lightly when he realizes it's pretty early due to the room still being slightly dark. He slowly looks at the nightstand that he was facing and saw it was only 7:00 AM.

He smiles when he looks down and saw Nikki still peacefully sleeping against him, he had his right arm around Nikki and her bare back was against his bare chest.

He slowly left small kisses on her shoulder and neck, he chuckles when she gave him more access to her neck but doing so while she is still asleep. Jack moves his right hand to har face and places some blonde strands behind her ear, he leans down and kisses her jawline and cheek, finally he feels her lightly stir against him.

'Hmmpf...' Nikki mumbles

Jack chuckles again and gave Nikki one final kiss on her cheek before pulling her more into his chest.

'Goodmorning.' Nikki said while a small giggle left her mouth.

'Not just a goodmorning love, a 'happy birthday' goodmorning to you.' Jack smiles and kissed her cheek.

Nikki smiles and turns herself to lay on her back to look up at Jack. 'This must be my best birthday ever, waking up with you.. kissing me and all.'

'Well, i promise you there will be more kissing today,' Jack smile grew wider, as did Nikki's. Jack leant down and kissed her forcefully on the lips for a brief moment.

'Okay here is the plan for this morning, i'll take a shower first, then you go in and when you get dressed and all i'll make you my famous Hodgson's breakfast, also known as your favorite.' Jack said while looking down at Nikki.

'Hmm i love that plan, i have one proposal though.' Nikki smirks.

'Well you're the birthday girl, so i'll let you make a few changes, do tell.'

'Well everything is fine only the shower.. we could share a shower, you know? To safe water.' Nikki bites her lip while looking Jack right in his eyes.

Jack smirks and looks back at Nikki. 'How can i argue with that? Let's save the planet a bit.' Jack says while getting out of his bed, he walks over to Nikki's side of the bed and pulls the covers off her and picked her up in bridal style and walks them towards his big bathroom where he immediately goes to the shower, he sets Nikki down and opens the shower door to turn on the shower. When the water is finally on a good temperature he picks up Nikki allowing her to wraps her legs around his waist and got in the shower and pinned Nikki against the wall, immediatly attacking her with a passionate kiss.

'Happy birthday, love.' He says in between the kiss.

'Hmm.. Thank you Mr. Hodgson.' Nikki said while smiling in to the kiss.

About 30 minutes later Jack walked in his kitchen ready to prepare some breakfast, he grabbed all the things he needed to make Nikki's favorite breakfast, a full english breakfast.

After 15 minutes Nikki walks in fully dressed, she was wearing the dress she also wore on their first official date knowing Jack couldn't keep his eyes of her. Her hair was down, leaving her curls free.

'It smells amazing in here.' Nikki said while walking to Jack and wraps her arms around his torso, she kissed his back and then let go to sit at the the kitchen table.

'I told you i would make your favorite, it's almost done.' Jack said smiling at her. He left the stove to pour himself and Nikki some coffee and handed Nikki her mug.

'Thank you.' Nikki said while taking a sip of her coffee.

After a couple of minutes Cara walked in ready for her first class at the university. Cara immediately went to Nikki to give her a big hug. 'Happy birthday.' Carasigns and gives Nikki a wrapped gift, she sat down next to Nikki.

'You didn't have to buy anything.' Nikki smiles at Cara who returned the smile.

Jack handed Cara a mug coffee and smiled at the pair. He grabbed 3 plates and begins to fill them.

'Open it.' Cara signs while a excited smile formed on her face.

Nikki smiles and slowly unwraps the present revealing Nikki's favorite parfume. 'Oh Cara.. this is too sweet, i love it! Thank you.' Nikki signs and gives Cara another hug.

Jack came to the table with 2 plates filled with food and handed them to Cara and Nikki. 'Enjoy meh ladies.' He went back to the counter and grabbed his own plate and went to sit down.

'It looks amazing Jack, thank you.' Nikki says while grabbing her fork and begins to eat.

'Anything for you, this is only just the beginning.' Jack smirks and went to eat.

Around 8:45 AM Jack and Nikki entered the Lyell and walked straight to the offices. When they arrived at their desks Nikki immediately looks at her desks and laughs.

'Oh no you didn't.' She says while looking at Jack.

'Oh yes we did.' He smirks.

'We?'

'Well Velvy did it, i don't think Gabriel gave him permission.. But i guess he did it anyway.' Jack chuckles.

Nikki's desk was decoraded with some balloons and confetti. Nikki was amazed, she told Jack she didn't want it to be a big deal, but he clearly chose to ignore it.

'Excuse me for a second.' Jack says while walking away.

Nikki shakes her head smiling and takes of her coat and hangs it around the back of her desk chair, she sits herself down and looks around her desk.

She was happy there wasn't alot of confetti on her desk, she could still normally work at her desk.

After a few minutes Nikki hears Jack coming back and looks towards him her eyes widen at the sight in front of her.

'Jack!' Nikki says while standing up.

Jack came in with a big bouquet of all sorts of red and pink flowers.

'You like it?' He says while handing her the bouquet.

'I love them.' Nikki looks at the flowers and then back up at Jack with a big smile on her face. 'I want to kiss you right now.' She whispers.

'Hold that thought.' He grabs the bouquet and grabs the vase they were in and sets them next to Nikki's desk on the ground. He walks back to Nikki and looks around making sure they were still alone, he hovered over her and captures her lips with his.

Nikki smiles and kisses him back, she leans more into her desk allowing Jack to move closer to her.

Their tongues were fighting for dominance and Nikki let out a small moan making Jack chuckle in the kiss, a noise from the hallway quickly broke them apart. Jack took a few steps back while Nikki fixes her dress and hair.

'Goodmorning.' Gabriel said while walking in the offices to greet the pair, not having a clue of what happend a few moments back.

'Morning.' Jack and Nikki said at the same time.

'Happy birthday Nikki.' Gabriel said while giving her a small smile.

'Thank you Gabriel.' Nikki said while returning the smile.

A few seconds later the door buzzed and Velvy came walking in, walking straight to Nikki and pulling her in a small hug. 'Happy birthday dr. Alexander.' Velvy said while pulling away.

The hug caught Nikki by surprise, she never knew Velvy was a hugger. She smiled at his gesture. 'Thank you Velvy, and also thank you for decorating my desk.'

'It was my pleasure.' Velvy smiles.

Gabriel looks at her desk and chuckles. 'For this time only i'm fine with the decoration, as we don't have any visitors today but tomorrow i want it gone.' He says while walking to his office.

'Okay!' Velvy shouts after Gabriel, he looks at Jack and Nikki who now were sitting down at their desks while glancing at each other. 'Sorry to bother you but i got you something, Jack says you love these.' He gives Nikki a small wrapped box.

Nikki looks at Velvy and smiles, she opens the box revealing a box full with Belgian chocolates. 'I do love these, thank you Velvy.' Nikki says.

'They're from both Gabriel and me.' Velvy said proudly.

'I'll make sure to thank Gabriel later.' Nikki said while opening the box and grabbing an chocolate and puts in her mouth.

Velvy smiles and leaves the room to go to his own desk.

'Want one?' Nikki asked Jack while eating second choclate bonbon.

Jack chuckles and nods. He catches the bonbon that Nikki throws and puts it in his mouth.

Nikki smiles at him and looks around to see that there we not alone. She looks back at Jack an mouths. 'I love you.'

Jack smiles and gives her a wink. 'I love you too.' He mouths back before turning to his computer screen to begin working. Nikki did the same and grabbed all the paperwork that needed to be filled in. Every so often they glanced at each other and when their eyes met a smile formed on both of their faces.

That night after diner, that Jack made for them, Jack and Nikki were laying on the couch together, Jack was sitting with Nikki laying between his legs and with her head on his chest. Jack stroked Nikki's hair while both focused on the television.

'Today was special, have i thanked you enough?' Nikki said.

Jack smiles. 'You've thanked me in the lockerroom, the kitchen, in the car and about 15 minutes ago in the kitchen here.' He says with a smirk.

Nikki giggles softly. 'I just can't thank you enough, i've felt very special today.'

'You're special everyday.' Jack says while kissing the top of het head. 'I've got one more gift for you.'

'What?' Nikki said while sitting up and looking back at Jack.

'Face the wall please?' Jack says with a grin.

Nikki nods and faces the wall in front of her.

Jack grabs a box that he had hidden close to the couch and opens it, he smiles and unhooks the clasp in his hand and slowly puts it around Nikki's neck and hooks it behind her neck.

Nikki looks down and lets out a little gasp. 'Jack...' She was faced with a beautiful heart shaped diamond necklace. 'This is too much.' She looks back at Jack.

'No it isn't, only the best for you.' He smiles and puts a strand of hair behind her ear. 'Look at the back.'

Nikki grabbed the heart shaped diamond and turns it around revealing something engraved in it, she looks closely and saw the letters 'N' and 'J'. 'Oh my...'

'Is it too much? It is, isn't it?' Jack begins to panic slightly but was cut off by Nikki kissing him briefly.

'No, i love it. I'm going to wear this everyday.' She smiles at him.

Jack smiles and wraps his arms around her. 'I love you.' He said while leaving a kiss on her temple.

'I love you too.' Nikki smiles and lays back down to put her head back on his chest. 'Who knew Jack Hodgson was so romantic?' Nikki giggles while looking up at him.

'Hmm yeah that's enough of it.' Jack said while a blush crept on his face.

'You are blushing.' Nikki says teasingly.

'Nikkiii...' Jack groans.

'Okay i will stop.' Nikki says smiling, she looks down and holds the beautiful necklace Jack gave her, she took one more look at Jack and pecks him on the lips.
