Jack is sat at his kitchen table sipping his morning coffee while reading yesterdays newspaper, on the cover of the newspaper he saw an article about a big family drama with 5 deaths including 3 children, he was there yesterday evening with Nikki and Velvy and still couldn't get the image out of his head of the bodies, those young kids who had a whole future ahead of them but their father couldn't live anymore and decided to bring his whole family with him. Jack sat his coffee down on the table and let out a big sigh while putting the newspaper away.

After a couple of minutes Nikki walked in the kitchen while putting on her necklace.

"Goodmorning," she said while walking to the counter to grab a mug of coffee Jack made for her, she walked to the kitchen table took a seat opposite Jack.

"Morning."Jack said with a slight smile.

"You were up early." Nikki said returning the smile.

"Mhmm." Jack mumbles.

''What's wrong?" Nikki quizzes while sipping her coffee.

"Yesterday, the case." Jack sighed.

Nikki immediately knew how he felt, she felt the same while looking at the scene and the bodies. "I know, it's makes our job harder."

"It makes you think about stuff, ya know?" Jack said while his eyes focused on Nikki's eyes.

"Really?" She said while returning the look.

"Really." Jack replied.

"What's on your mind then?" She said while putting her mug down on the table not looking away from Jack.

"Us." Jack replied.

"What about us?" Nikki said looking a bit confused.

"Our future." He put his arm on the table and held his hand out for Nikki.

Nikki grabbed his hand and felt Jack squeeze it. "Where are you going with this Jack?"

"I want a child Nik, a child with you. Maybe even more than one."

Nikki's mouth flew open, emotions flew trough her body, she didn't know what to say or to do. She lets go of his hand and stood up. "I-i got to go."

Jack was taken aback with her reaction and also stood up. "Where to?"

"Work." Nikki said while walking out of the kitchen and went straight to the front door grabbing her handbag and coat on her way.

'Nikki!' Jack aaid while walking after her, he stopped her at the front door. "What happend back there Nik?"

"I'm sorry, i can't talk about this right now, okay?" Nikki said giving Jack an apologetic look.

Jack sighed and nodded, he stood away from the door so Nikki could open it. "Aren't we going together to work?"

Nikki shook her head. "I'm going with my own car." Nikki said while walking out of the door to her own car that was parked next to Jack's car on the driveway.

Jack closed the door and sighed deeply, he punched the wall next to him. He heard footsteps coming down the stairs and looked up seeing Cara who gave him a confused look. 'Whats wrong?' Cara signs.

"Don't want to talk about it right now." Jack says giving her a small smile. 'I'm heading to work, are you coming along for a study session?' He asks Cara while grabbing his coat and carkeys.

Cara nodded and grabbed her own bag and coat and follow Jack out the door and to his car.

Jack and Cara walked in the Lyell together and were greeted by Velvy who gave them both a cup of coffee. "Goodmorning you two." He said in his chirpy voice.

"Morning and thank you for the coffee." Jack said while walking to his desk and setting his coffee down, he took off his coat and sat down on his chair. He looked at the desk opposite him and only saw Nikki's coat and handbag. "Where is Nikki?"

"I don't know, she went to the lockerroom when she walked in, didn't say a word." Velvy said while leaning against the doorframe.

Nikki stood in the curringroom, she looked at the 3 bodies on the steel tables, 3 young children. She always hated this part of her job. She went to the counter and leant her arms against his while taking in a deep breath. 'Come on Nikki, you can do this, don't think and just do it.' She thought in herself giving herself some courage.

Nikki's thoughts interrupted by a voice calling her. "Dr. Alexander?"

Nikki spun around and saw Gabriel, Velvy and Jack standing behind the glass in the viewing area. Her eyes fixed on Jack who gave her a worried look.

"Y-yes?" Nikki replied trying to get herself together.

"When will you be done with the PM on the children? The DI wants to review and close this case." Gabriel asks while looking at the pathologist who clearly was not herself.

Nikki didn't respond and looked at each body on the tables in front of her.

"Dr. Alexander?" Gabriel says again.

Nikki still didn't reply.

"Nikki?" Jack asks softly which made Nikki look up and met his gaze.

"I'm sorry, give me an hour and i'll be done." Nikki gave them a small smile and went to turn her back to them to start the PM.

Gabriel nodded and walked away together with Velvy. Jack stayed for a couple of minutes and watched Nikki as she did the PM, he clearly saw what an impact this case made on her and was worried. Always when there were children involved Nikki became emotional, she always did her work but he saw the pain in her eyes, he saw it now too.

After a while he walked back to his desk and finished some paperwork and worked a case out on his computer.

An hour later Jack heard some noise coming from the lockerroom, he looked at Vevly who appeared in the doorway of the offices.

"Should i go in there?" Velvy asks Jack.

"No, let me go." Jack said and stood up to made his way to the lockerroom, he opened the door and saw Nikki slamming her locker while crying. 'Nik..' Jack made his way to Nikki and grabbed her hand that was slamming the locker. "Come here." Jack says and pulled Nikki into a embrace.

Nikki calmed down in his embrace and wrapper her arms around his torso. She felt Jack stroke her back to calm her down.

"I-i'm sorry." Nikki says against his chest.

"Never be sorry for your feeling Nik." Jack slowly pulled away from the embrace and sat down on the bench that was sat in the middle of the lockerroom, he pulled Nikki on his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"This case.. it's too much." Nikki whispers and buries her face in his neck.

"I know, it's over now." Jack kissed Nikki on top of her head and kept rubbing her back.

A knock on the door broke the two apart and Nikki stood up and looked at the door and saw Gabriel.

"The police are here to review the case, can you both come to the meeting room?" Gabriel quizzes and both Nikki and Jack nodded at him. Gabriel gave them a small smile and walked away towards the meeting room giving them some more privacy.

"Are you okay to go back?" Jack said while standing up, he took a step forward to Nikki and grabbed her hand.

"Yes." Nikki looked up at Jack and gave him a small smile.

Jack returned the smile and bent down to slowly kiss Nikki on her lips and pulled away after a few seconds. "I love you."

"I love you too." Nikki replied, she looks back up at him. "About this morning, i-"

"Let's talk about this at home, okay? Let's finish this case first and then we talk." Jack replied.

Nikki nodded and stood on her tip toes to kiss Jack on his cheek. She led the way to the meeting room and sat down with Jack next to her, his hand rested on her tigh to comfort her during the meeting.

That night Jack walked into his bedroom with a towel wrapped around his torso, he looked at his bed and saw his girlfriend laying down and looking at him. He smiled at her and went to his side of the bed.

"Nice shower?" Nikki aaks while rolling on her side to face him.

"Yes, much needed after today." Jack replied, he let the towel drop to the floor and got into bed, he lays down on his side so he is facing Nikki.

The couple stared at each other, both want to talk about the same thing but neither knew how to start the conversation.

Nikki clears her throat after a few minutes of staring. "Uhm, so.. this morning."

"Yeah.. this morning." Jack said softly.

"I'm sorry for walking out like that, i had a horrible morning due to yesterdays events, the crime scene really was the worst i ever seen.. blood everywhere and then those kids.." Nikki says while her eyes began to tear up.

"Oh Nik.. i understand your reaction. Why would i say that while i know you'll be cutting open 3 kids today.. it was the wrong time to tell you that." Jack says while stroking her cheek with his right hand, he placed a blond hair behind her ear and held her cheek.

"It's okay." Nikki smiled.

Jack laid back down on his back. "Come here." He pulled Nikki into his side.

Nikki laid her head on his chest and stroked his arm with her free hand.

"I have been thinking about it." Nikki said.

"About what?" Jack quizzes.

"Kids."

"Really? Since when?" Jack replied and stroked her bare back with his hand.

"I always wanted kids but never found the guy to have them with so i put it to rest. Since you and i became official i actually started to think about it again." Nikki said while leaning back to look at Jack.

"Really?" Jack said while a small smile crept on his face.

"Yes, and you starting that conversation first honestly shocked me, in a good way ofcourse," she reassured Jack. "But this morning i was with my head on those 3 kids and their mother. It just really hurt me. But now the case is closed and i want to move on, i need to move on." Nikki said while not losing eye contact with Jack.

Jack gave her a smile. "Do you want a child with me?"

"No..." Nikki replied immediately.

Jack mouth flew open in shock. "But.. what?"

"Jack, i want kids with you, but i want more than one. If we're fortune enough ofcourse." Nikki sits up and looks at Jack.

Jack sighed in relief and looked at her, a big grin appeared on his face. "So, we're doing this?"

Nikki copied Jack's grin. "Yes, we are."

Jack wrapped his arms around Nikki and pulled her on top of him. "When will you be stopping with the pill?"

"Hmm, well i should take one right now, so if you are okay with it, i'll stop right now?" Nikki said while looking down at Jack.

"Ofcourse i'm okay with that." Jack smiled at leant in to kiss her.

Nikki smiles in to the kiss and kissed him back.

Jack pulled away and met her eyes again. "You're going to be the best mom."

A blush crept on Nikki's cheek. "Don't forget uourself, daddy Jack."

Jack laughed and hugged Nikki. "Look at us already talking about it, you're not even pregnant yet."

Nikki smiled and pecked his lips. "I love you so much."

Jack caressed Nikki's cheek and smiled. "I love you too." Jack rolled them over so he was now on top of Nikki. "Let's start trying now." He whispers in her ear.

Nikki giggled. "Jack, i'm not ovulating yet."

"Then let's practice before we try. Practice makes perfect right?"

Nikki smiled and nodded. "It does."

And before Nikki knows it Jack lips crashed on hers.
