Back for more to the story. :)
Sam had kissed me...
This thought was the only one on Lincoln's mind. Not only after the fight against Luna, but previously, she'd told him she kissed him to spite Luna.
Lincoln wasn't interested in Sam at all. Or atleast not at the moment, he'd been interested in Paige, but now a hot, 15 year old rocker girl has her eyes set on Lincoln, and he's not sure how to process any of it.
This kiss wasn't like the one before. It was quick, as if she was reluctant, but also out of meaning. And, that registered with Lincoln, as he stared deeply into her baby-blue eyes, feeling a sense of comfort, which was foreign to him.
And, a sense of overwhelming joy, a feeling the two empty kids found absent in recent times, returned. And neither had expected it.
Sam rested her hand atop of Lincoln's, as they looked over the cliffside, and both said nothing; their blushes answered all potential responses, as they sat together for an uncounted period of time.
That is, until Sam finally spoke up.
"I... Should go, dude..." was all Sam was able to speak, choking out her words, eyes red and heart beating fast.
Lincoln was speechless. "Uh- you could..."
Sam stopped put a finger on his lip, as she sniffled. She knew Lincoln was out of her league, and vice-versa. But, at the same time, she was scared, nervous.
She had no idea what she desired anymore, but didn't want to bring Lincoln down with her, but at the same time, she wanted to be happy, and she knew every little interaction she had with Lincoln along the way, brought her positivity.
But Sam could never face up to her motivations.
Lincoln had watched, as the young blonde walked away quickly, with the visible urge to turn around, to speak more on her mind, but at the same time, words were a fight. And Sam had grown weak over the course of recent days, the fight was out of her.
Shoot man... I really messed up...
Was it a self reminder, he should say something? Or was it his conscious, telling him he was in the wrong? But, what did he even screw up with? He didn't ask for this. He was just trying to help Luna, and this was the thanks he got.
Lincoln made his way home, head facing the ground, and thoughts racing. This was clearly the sign of something new. But, the question as to if whatever 'this' was would be persued, remained to be seen.
I'm gonna have to face my family... And, I'm not sure how I'm gonna even be able to face Sam again, if I even *see* her again. Lincoln knew things were going to get messy, and was prepared to face the music.
After what seemed like a long, heinous walk, Lincoln finally reached the Loud House, home at last. It wasn't the first time he'd have a massive rift in the family, and certainly wouldn't be the last, provided Luna doesn't kill him first.
*CREEK*
Lincoln shutters, as the loose stair sets off a tone, indicting his return. He had intended to sneak inside, and crawl back into his bedroom until this dies down, but as he noticed a familiar face waiting for him as he reached the top of the stairs, he knew this was over.
Lori aggressively approached Lincoln, poking his stomach as she ended the deafening silence. "You've got alot to answer for, twerp."
This response sent shivers down Lincoln, who was at a loss for words.
"I- em... Listen, I can-" he was quickly interrupted before he practically began. "I don't wanna hear this crap, tonight. Do you have any idea you've done?"
Lincoln, froze up, before gently shrugging, failing to make any eye contact as Lori's furious eyes dug into him.
His failure to response obligated her response. "Luna has been in her room, crying since you left. She broke her guitar, tore down four freaking posters, and... And if that wasn't enough..."
Lincoln could see Lori was now on the verge of crying herself.
"She's probably about to go to jail. You just- you knew how much Sam meant to her!"
WHAT?!
Lincoln is now confused. "How is this my fault?!"
"Be quiet! You're gonna get everyone out, and start another...whatever earlier was. And for the record, you twerp, it's mostly that little bitch's fault. Her parents are trying to get Luna arrested."
This broke Lincoln inside. As horrible as Luna acted earlier, jail would ruin her future. And, she'd be put in juvenile, ruining the family, Luna is still a Loud. And now? Lincoln feels the blame is on him, even though Luna threw the first punch.
"But... Listen! I didn't even want Sam to kiss me, you've got to convince them to hear my side of the story, for all three of us!"
Lori scoffed. "Riiight. We both know this that Sharp brat, too good for Luna and decided to bring you into her mess. The nerve of her..."
Obviously, Lincoln didn't like the badmouthing of poor Sam, it wasn't her fault either. "It's not Sam's fault! I told you, the note was Luna's, I just brought it to Sam. I didn't think she'd assume I sent it..."
This didn't change anything, as Lori rolled her eyes. "If that girl gets Luna arrested, she's gonna be more than a human pretzel..." she mumbled, and walked off, throwing her hands out in a careless gesture towards Lincoln's statement.
Luna was curled up in her room, with Luan sitting by her, hand on shoulder, and a look of grief on her face too.
"Sammy... Why..." the Loud rocker sniffled, as she blew her nose into her sleeve.
Luan grabbed a box of tissues from her nightstand, but as she approached Luna, she heard a simple *BUZZ*.
"Who the f-" growled out Luna, frustrated with life to the point she didn't even wanna hear anyone attempt to text her on Instagram, and snatched her phone off the nightstand.
As Luna opened her Instagram, her friend Luke had sent her a photo. A photo of Sam and Lincoln's kiss on the cliffside.
Luna could only growl out of frustration, as she threw the phone across the room, and slammed her fist into the frame of her and Luan's bunk-bed, obligating the latter to run up and try to calm her.
"Oh-woah... What's wrong Lu?"
The expression of Luna didn't change, as she pointed to her phone with pure resent, her breathing having an alarming increase.
Luan nervously approached the phone, being met with the same disturbing image Luna had seen.
"Oh dang... I'm so, so sorry Luna..."
Sorry this chapter isn't as *impactful* but the next one shouldddd be a little bit more towards the rising action, as this is mostly just... I don't know what this is, buildup I suppose. We're setting the grounds up for Lincoln x Sam and their development under hostile environments. *wink*
