Biscuit started to bark. Someone was trying to come into the room, trying to bring the door down.

2022

Fanny Bennet lay on the floor; someone had knocked her and the Hills down, and now, was trying to gain access into the cellar, one last try, before going into hiding. They would never be able to figure out who did it. Hence, one could try again.

General Whitman, the man who still loved Fanny, decided to come back—no more waiting for her. He remembered. He was a young cadet following his titled family's tradition of being in the military. He visited his girlfriend Melissa, who would arrive home the next day. While out and about, he saw Fanny, and he could swear he fell for her that same day. She was a beautiful blond, tall, willowy, and friendly. Indeed, he believed it was love at first sight. She told him she was sixteen, and he believed her. It; Fanny certainly didn't look like a child with her high heels and makeup. He called Melissa to tell her he couldn't come. Then saw Fanny for three days nonstop. They made love the second day and more or less spent their time in bed the rest of the time.

He came back two weeks later, staying there for three weeks. He also visited Melissa and soon realized she was her sister. That day, he told Melissa he couldn't see her anymore. He had been with Fanny for two weeks, behind Melissa's back, when Fanny told him she was pregnant; he was elated and didn't care since his parents had married quite young. He called them and shared the news with them. They were happy for him.

But that day, Melissa saw them together and was irate. He didn't lie and said, "Sorry, but I love her," believing Fanny had just turned 17 years old. When he found out how old Fanny was, he was horrified. Melissa demanded he would either marry her or she would go to his superiors. That was it. He married Melissa, abandoned Fanny, then took their child away and stayed drunk for what seemed years. Their son died in an accident later on. Greg Whitman had never stopped loving Fanny, and always dreamed about her. He stayed away from Melissa since the first day and had friends with benefits. He followed Fanny's life closely.

While Melissa was dying, she regretted her actions. She wrote her sister that Greg had never stopped loving her, but she had threatened him to disclose he had been with Fanny when she was thirteen. She did every time he said he was leaving. She also told her sister that Greg had never been with her, not once. Greg hated her but tried to forgive her. As soon as Melissa died, he tried to contact Fanny in every way he could. But she refused his calls and messages. He would go and see her at her home.

He told his driver to turn around. Hell, with everything, Fanny would listen to him. When he arrived in Longbourn, his hackles went up. Something was wrong. He had been in the Army all his life and had fought in two wars. He could sense danger. He took out the pistol he always traveled with, "Miller approached quietly. Leave the car out the gates, get your weapon, and come with me."

"Yes, General." They got out of the car and approached, trying to hide as much as possible.

Pemberley 1812

A carriage waited outside Pemberley. The occupant was wondering why it was taking so long? Maybe it was time to go in. Hopefully, it was. They would kill every one of them once and for all. They were no match for them with their silly weapons. The problem was in the future, but first things first. However, they had a protector, the damn wolf, no matter, it couldn't protect everyone.

Charles was uneasy, feeling bad for the way he had behaved. William wrote him before, apologizing over his advice. When he told his sisters, they told him to stay away. He was a coward and did just that. Now, he was sad he lost a chance for a woman he could have loved. He stayed away because his sisters thought the Bennet were not fit for the Ton.

He went to get a drink. He went to get one since his sisters were sleeping and found several footmen down. He was not sure if they were dead. Charles feared his older sisters, they were nasty, but he wasn't a coward. He knew how to fire a gun and wasn't afraid to fight. He knew where William locked the hunting guns and other weapons. He also knew where William hid the key. He was near that room, next to the library. He opened one cabinet and took a modern pistol and a gun. He was loading them as fast as he could when he heard a loud noise in the library. Right before he headed on, he saw something odd. He felt strange and changed. He grinned; now, he knew what to do.

Inside the library, they were hurrying, not knowing how many were out there. In the past, whenever the parents had tried to rescue anyone, several of them had died. The one called Mrs. Reynolds was the best friend of William and Georgiana's mother. Her husband was murdered while investigating, so here she was. To her regret she hadn't been able to save the ones murdered, not now, or in 2022. So she knew whoever they fought was skilled and powerful, but they didn't know the motive behind it.

They all sat down and held hands, hoping. Thomas' mother was regretful, there was not enough time for Lizzie to be pregnant. At least The other children would become one. But Lizzie was very young, best this way, maybe. They would need to wait till she had a new life to go thru the portal since they left nothing behind, rules.

Lizzie's mother was also sad, but when she held her daughter's hand, she smiled. Ilsa heard her friend's words inside her head, and her face brightened. But maybe nothing could be done, because they would need to fight. Too bad inside this room, or in the one in Longbourn, they could no fight. If they opened the doors, who knew what would happen. The portals were engaged, and nobody else could come to assist.

William said, "I saw someone with a weapon, not a gun. I am certain. I thought it was a man, but maybe not, I can see the person had the head covered, and the face shone. A mask, the whoever wore a metal mask."

Lizzie blin, trying to remember. Earlier that day, Charlotte had been texting someone. Then she was on the phone, wearing her pods. She had said something about meeting later. When Lizzie asked, Charlotte had said a friend might meet them in Salzburg. In the car, in the car, what did she see?

Lizzie was scared, Charlotte was driving recklessly. It was odd, why? Why?

"I saw, not sure, I wish I could remember. Wait, I was running in the rain, not in the car, and what?" She closed her eyes while the room shook with the impact of someone trying to force their way in.

She exhaled. Her mother said, "Darling, relax, you are also remembering when you fell down. Unfortunately, we couldn't arrive on time."

"No, I didn't fall; someone grabbed my foot, pulled me down, and laughed. Yes, Charlotte was also laughing, I mean in the car, and what else?" Lizzie wanted to remember.

"But she died; Charlotte died in the explosion." Ilsa said. "It cannot mean much. But we still have hope, one of ours, someone else is here, and in the future. A friend of Vilhelm volunteered; Rikard,Báreker and others disliked the friend." She smiled and winked at Inga. "He doesn't remember who he is because we decided not to chance that he could be detected. He was also too young to travel, but one of us brought him along. Whoever, has always known who is here but cannot know about him. This time only Tomas' father and I know about your friend. Therefore, there is no chance he will be found. But he will remember when it is time. Now, it is time." Ilsa hoped.

"Lizzie, you need to know something else, the one you call Mariah is your half-sister. She is the daughter of my dead husband. I met her here because Ilsa raised her while I was gone. Her mother, a young female, I mean a woman, died having her; it happens, she was barely old enough." Inga looked sad; her husband had hurt many. "Her parents thought she should be raised like her father's daughter and sent her to me, but I had to leave days after you were born, on a mission, to find who killed my husband. I was captured by enemies and never saw you again. When I was released and came back you were gone."

Mariah smiled, "I knew Lizzie was important to me."

"What friend?" William asked.

Longbourn

Charles was driving back to get his sisters, feeling bad for leaving them stranded. He would make an excuse that he was there to pick them up. But after that, he would get his own flat. They could stay in the townhouse, and he would get his own place. As he approached Longbourn, he had a flashback; he had been here long ago; he felt strange. He stopped, looked inside the middle console, and saw a strange tube. After a few seconds of thinking, he knew what to do. Something was wrong otherwise, he wouldn't have remembered. He accelerated.

The enemy

Long ago, in a parallel world, everyone celebrated the new union of three of their most powerful ones. Their relatives and close friends were delighted. At the celebration, it was easy to see that the bride was nearly to term, and only a few of them were blessed with children. One of the guests believed the one she loved, and had been her lover forever, was marrying the young bride because she was fertile. The bride was carrying two children. The hatred increased during the celebrations welcoming the twins. Twins were rare and a cause for great joy. It would seem everyone celebrated. The husbands kissed the bride every other second, making her angrier. They had the lavish event in a distant past, the pretentious mighty.

So a plan to get rid of the children, of all the ones closer to her ex-lover, formed. Not only because of that but because she wasn't allowed to raise her young sister's child. Her parents gave the baby to one of the mighty ones. They told he she wasn't fit to be a parent. They knew who had killed the baby's father.

It wasn't difficult to execute her plan, she was an instructor, versed in many areas, and was often around the brats. She tried to be close to her niece, who instantly disliked her, sealing her fate. She only loved her half-sister and stayed stuck to her and to her older cousin. During that time, she found other lovers, some willing to help after the children dissapeared. Of course, she assisted in trying to find the children, so she knew what the parents were planning. But the parents started keeping anyone else out; or so they thought.

Longbourn

When the General and his driver left the car, a German import stopped. A blond man opened the car door, came out, and put his finger to his lips, pointing at the house. They saw that the door was wide open, most unusual. As they approached the house, they heard a very loud construction-like-racket. They hurried, came into the house, followed the noise, and saw two cloaked figures pointing at the cellar door pointing tubes, similar to the one Charles carried, but much bigger.

They saw Fanny laying on the ground, away from the door. Charles pointed the tube, and a blue light came out. One of the ones trying to break the door fell, and the other started fading, not before the General fired at the second one, who yelped in pain as it faded. Charles moved his hand and a yellow light covered the General and the Sargent. Afterwards, they didn't remember everything.

The General ran to Fanny, "Wake up, my love. What's wrong?"

Charles went to the wounded man, but didn't recognize him. He was out, maybe dying. He knocked at the door, "Ilsa open, is me. I need help." Whoever else was there, probably knew who he was. He needed to know what to do.

Pemberley

Charles went to the library and saw the figure with a weapon like his but bigger. A battlefield weapon, he only had one chance, or the other would kill him. He pointed his weapon, a blue light came out and the person fell down. The one in the carriage knew the moment it happened. Time to leave, so she faded out; no sense in being caught. Maybe the footmen she helped bring down would recognize her.

He knocked at the door, "Ilsa is me. I need help."

He heard William, "That is Charles."

The door opened, it was Ilsa. "Right on time, who is that?"

"Don't know, but he might be dying, I had to, look at his concentrator." Charles explained.

William came out and saw the cylinder on Charles' hand. He understood, Charles was the friend. Then, he bent to uncover the face, "Reverend Collins?"

"But he wasn't alone, he was with a woman. She was wounded." Charles explained.
