Act 1: Beating Heart
Segment 1: Come From Away
Chapter 1-11: Ryogoku Rumble
Kazuhiko was frantic. Where had his card decks gone? Admittedly, his bedroom was a mess, but even so, he kept them somewhere he didn't use for anything else. And Takaharu wanted to get a whole club going today just for this!
And he was going to be late!
"Kazuhiko? What are you looking for?" came the voice from his phone.
"Monodramon – did you see my deck of cards today?"
"Nope."
"Ahh, this is bad, this is bad! How could I have lost all three of them?!" Every cabinet and drawer had been rifled through. There were pages of drawings everywhere across his table and floor.
"Kazuhiko, you're going to be late for class," Fujie reminded him through the closed bedroom door.
"I know, I know, I'm looking for something!"
"Your decks of cards?"
"What! How did-"
Fujie snorted, suppressing a giggle. "Kazuhiko, you left them all out on the table yesterday! You were showing me and Hideji everything! Your father was quite interested, actually."
Kazuhiko blinked. Did he? He had almost no recollection. All he remembered was that he was spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to best arrange and tie together birch and dark leather furniture in with industrial lighting, as the challenge was to avoid repainting the walls – which, he couldn't get out of his head, had disgusting and old-timey wallpaper. He had spent four hours on the challenge and still had no idea.
He exited his bedroom, backpack in hand. There they were. How had he not even noticed them while eating breakfast? He thumped the knuckles of his hand against his forehead. "Gah, I'm stupid!" He hurried to collect them all into their boxes and pack them in his bag.
"Is there something happening today?" Fujie asked, rinsing off a few plates.
"Yeah, Takaharu wanted to get more people into this game, so he was going to start a club for it."
"In his last year?"
Kazuhiko shrugged. "You know him, he likes to start new projects all the time."
His mother laughed. "Ah, so that's why you two get along so well!"
"Hey, I – at least I finish my projects! … Eventually."
"Mmhm." Fujie glanced at her watch. "If you run, you could make it."
"Aahhh! I'm going to do exactly that – see ya mom!" Kazuhiko rushed out the door. He slipped earbuds in his ears. "Monodramon," he whispered as they descended in the elevator, "today – I think you should come out and meet the others."
"Really?"
"Yeah! I… I get the feeling you're not the only one," he said. The way Satsuki had asked that question made it seem like she was trying to hide something, unsuccessfully. Besides, it wasn't like she asked him questions like that. It was too suspicious.
"Cool!" Finally, a chance to see someone besides Kazuhiko, and perhaps some other Digimon. It had been maybe a week since it had seen another one, and it was getting a little tiring having to hear Kazuhiko rant on and on about curves, perspective, or building materials.
Kazuhiko ran out of the elevator and dodged someone in the process. "Ah, sorry! Sorry!" he yelled, necktie flapping about. He glanced at his own watch. It was going to be tight. He wished now that he had joined a sports club; maybe that would have helped him keep fit, but right now his breath was getting shallower.
He burst into the classroom with less than a minute to spare. The teacher seemed amused by his late entry. "I thought you had fixed your tardiness," she commented. "Just about, heheh!" he huffed between breaths.
"Kazuhiko," Takaharu whispered from behind him, "that was incredible."
"Yeah, I know," he heaved. He was so perfectly on time for the morning greeting meant he didn't even have time to sit down and catch his breath.
The day had dragged and dragged. At least, for Takaharu and Kazuhiko, it did. They were both excited to get started with this, even if for both of them it was only going to be several months. There were several other students who had shown up for this of all ages. They had occupied a section of a classroom and had moved some desks together to get larger playing spaces.
"Hm? Oh hey, Satsuki!"
"Yikes," she said as she walked in. "Asuka, we are going to get grey hairs in here." Asuka bent over with laughter.
"W-what's that supposed to mean?!" yelled Kazuhiko.
"Look around." Satsuki motioned to everyone in the room. "How many of these people are in third senior year?"
"Hey, we're not elementary kids!" one of them complained. Another one added, "You've never experienced Satsuki, have you?"
Takaharu had to stop himself from laughing. It was true – most of the kids in there were in junior years or first senior year, mainly because it was a new club and people had their own priorities if they were any higher.
"Oh please, you'll be fine," said Kazuhiko.
"Hey," announced Takaharu, "how many people don't have decks?" A few hands went up. "No worries if you did, by the way, there are some starter decks here. Feel free to take one!"
Asuka whistled. "You bought all these?"
Takaharu grinned. "I had to be prepared! It wasn't just me though. Kazu pitched in as well."
Satsuki hung around the edges. She admitted to Takaharu, "I don't have a deck, but I'll just spectate. I figured I'd take a look before getting into it." Asuka, on the other hand, had already taken one of the starter decks and was getting set up against a first senior year student.
While Satsuki watched Asuka learn the ropes from Takaharu, Yuuka walked in. It was a bit overwhelming for her with so many people in there, but she snuck up beside Satsuki. "Sorry, just a bit late."
"Oh! You came," Satsuki said, "I was wondering if you were going to."
"Yeah, I was going to come with Ryuta, but I couldn't find him. He ran off right after class."
"Hm. Not the first time he's done that this year, too. Remember two weeks ago?"
"Yeah, I get an uneasy feeling." Yuuka looked at the cards being moved around. They were just… everywhere. Why were there three decks? She guessed the cards going face-up were discards, and the tall deck was the main deck, but other than that, she was confused. Was that gauge shared?
Satsuki was just as confused. "Do you have any idea what's going on?"
"Uh, no."
"Hey, me neither!" exclaimed Asuka, bright-eyed. "But I'm doing it anyway! Right, the hatchery." The response got a laugh out of Takaharu, who pointed somewhere in her hand, explaining how the memory gauge worked.
"Did you ask him about it?" Satsuki asked Yuuka. "I guess he might not say much, but I assume if there's anyone he might trust, it seems to be you."
"No, not yet. I wanted to ask him before he left abruptly yesterday, but he and I were both out of time." Asuka started playing cards and moving the memory counter around. "And I don't want to ask over text, you know? It seems rude."
Satsuki brushed some of her hair aside. "I wonder."
"Hm?"
"He's quiet, reclusive, cold, aggressive. But is he that way in private?" Satsuki looked at Yuuka. "You found out yesterday, didn't you?"
"Ah, I did. He's…" she trailed off. It was still inexplicable. "I don't know. He's definitely not the same."
"Interesting. How so?"
Asuka had just discovered how to attack security and failed to defeat it. There was a cry of defeat. Regardless, she was persevering. Yuuka looked about, just in case he had shown up. "He's, like, the complete opposite person."
"Classic tsundere."
"Satsuki!"
"What? He fits the description." Satsuki was trying not to laugh and eventually couldn't hold it in. "Actually, he could be a kuudere!"
"You're assuming he's romantically attracted to me!"
Asuka piped up. "Assuming? We know!"
Yuuka looked up at the ceiling. They weren't going to stop, were they? "Ahh! Come on, he hasn't said anything about that!"
Takaharu snickered. "Yet," he added. "Hey, was he here? We should get him in here."
"No, I went looking for him. Kaoru said he left as soon as classes ended."
"That's too bad," said Asuka, "we could have interrogated him."
"Asuka! Give the guy the space he wants!" Yuuka huffed. They went back to watching Asuka in battle against the lower-year student. He was confident in his hand, though Asuka got the feeling he was full of bluster.
He started stacking a Digimon up out of the breeding area and onto the table. He was not. Asuka's security pile was reduced by three cards in as many turns, but she was putting up a valiant effort, cutting her opponent's pile by two.
She glanced at her cards. Hey, wait a minute – it required her to get lucky, but if she drew the right support cards twice in a row… couldn't she put up an untouchable Ultimate on the table? All of the attacks would be diverted away if she could get the cards for it, and then she could launch a counter.
Which is exactly what happened. "Ha!" she shouted, staring at her draw. Suddenly her opponent's visage turned. "I've got you now," she grinned. Takaharu laughed as she started her move. How was she this lucky? She would have needed the right draw three times in a row. Despite that, she knew she still needed her opponent's security to be weak; after all, it seemed like all of his powerful cards were being drawn or in play.
It was a close thing. Yuuka and Satsuki watched as the security piles on both sides shrank to one, then zero, but tempo was in Asuka's favour. "Yes! I won!" she exclaimed. Her fists shot up in the air in victory.
A rumble of thunder rolled past the school building, making Yuuka jump. "Oh, right!" Takaharu remarked, staring out the window, "there was supposed to be a storm today! Well, good thing we're all indoors. Oh, Kazu, is that why you managed to stay so late?"
"Yep, they messaged last night that the photoshoot was postponed. Glad they did, heheh!" He was watching a few junior students stumble around their three decks. "Yeah, if you can't draw anymore, that's a forfeit," he replied to one of them.
Yuuka shook. The rain was pelting the windows, and she swore the building shook as another rumble of thunder, this time much louder, cut through the background sound of nature soaking the city. "Yuuka," commented Satsuki, "you hate storms, huh?"
"Mmmh. I got caught out a few times before while camping."
Asuka put a hand on her hip. "Oh, right. I remember that. You got sick real bad after one of those, too." Yuuka nodded. But her mind was elsewhere. What about that Digimon? It had to be one, anyway. What if it was getting soaked right now? It may have been a bird Digimon, sure, but even birds had to hide somewhere in a storm like this – and if it could fly, then a lightning storm was not a good place to be in the air. She hoped it was okay.
A few of the kids apologized in a row. "Sorry guys, my parents are worried about me!" one said. "I guess I need to get home soon before the wind kicks up too," another agreed. "Ahh! I can't believe we have to split up so soon! I only got three rounds in!"
"Hey, we'll all be here next week!" beamed Takaharu. "Take the cards with you, guys!"
"Thanks for coming everyone! Stay safe!" added Kazuhiko.
Yuuka watched the younger kids filter out of the classroom as Takaharu and Kazuhiko moved desks and chairs back into place. "I guess I should go too."
"Yeah, but it's not too far from here, right, Yuuka?" asked Asuka.
"Uh… sure, but-"
"Yuuka," said Satsuki, "I think you should stay for this."
"What? What are you four up to?"
Takaharu looked around. His face was a mix of awe and surprise. "I can't believe this happened, eh?"
Satsuki shook her head. "Me neither."
A voice came from Kazuhiko's phone. "Can I come out now?" Yuuka screamed. "I guess not." Everyone else laughed. Kazuhiko replied, "It's fine! She just spooks easily."
A short pillar of light formed next to Kazuhiko, then assembled into a Monodramon. Yuuka stumbled backward. Satsuki caught her before she could fall down. "Oh my goodness, Yuuka, do you have legs?"
"W-what's going on?!"
"Hi!" Monodramon grinned and waved. "I'm Monodramon!"
There were another three pillars of light, two on the floor and one in the air. Yuuka's head whipped back and forth as they assembled into Gabumon, Lomamon, and Hawkmon, who was flapping in the air.
Hawkmon said, "This is unexpected. But certainly welcome!"
"Yeah," Gabumon replied, "at least there are four of us now. It feels a bit more familiar."
"So there really are four Digimon here! Ah… Yuuka, you don't feel left out, do you?" asked Takaharu. He realized now that she was the only one who hadn't been travelling with a Digimon.
"I… no, of course not. I just…"
"Hm?"
"I think I saw a Digimon last night, on my balcony. But it flew away before I had a chance to say anything."
Hawkmon cocked its head. "What did it look like?"
"Like a black owl, I guess."
Hawkmon's feathers stood up. "Oh! Wait, maybe – maybe I know this one! That sounds like Falcomon! Ah, but the storm outside…" it muttered, concerned. Everyone's attention was drawn to the windows as a flash of lightning struck Tokyo Skytree. "I hope it's safe. Storms like this are not great for us flying Digimon to be."
"Me too," agreed Yuuka.
Asuka's hair bounced as she looked back at Yuuka. "Hey! We should go try finding it when the weather clears up!"
Satsuki agreed. "Even if it doesn't want to come with us, at least we should make sure it's safe. The human world isn't exactly a nice place for a Digimon to be on its own."
"But how…? Tokyo is big!" replied Yuuka.
Hawkmon volunteered. "I can go look for it! I'm sure it wouldn't have strayed far from here. That is, assuming it's the Falcomon I know."
"Hawkmon…"
"Hey, we should help too, Monodramon!" exclaimed Gabumon. "I'd feel bad if Hawkmon did all the work, you know."
"Mmhm! Lomamon, too – hey wait! Lomamon?!" Monodramon looked around. There was no sign of it.
Takaharu buried his face in his hands. "I can't believe it just ran off like that! One second, guys, sorry!" he muttered and ran off to find the bipedal raccoon.
"Takaharu, one sec!" yelled Asuka, following after him.
"Eep! Guess I'm going too!" Hawkmon flew after her.
The remaining five watched them run off in search of Lomamon. "Uh," started Gabumon, "should we help?"
"I dunno," said Monodramon. "Lomamon can't have gone that far, right?"
Takaharu's feet thumped down the hallway. "Lomamon!" he yelled. "Hey, Lomamon! Ah, where could it have gone so quickly," he wondered out loud.
"Lomamon!" yelled Hawkmon, following right behind him. The Digimon was quick in the air and flew past Takaharu's head.
"Whoa!"
"A-apologies!" Hawkmon yelled, turning a corner.
Takaharu paused at an intersection. Asuka caught up with him. This little jog was nothing to her. "Hey, you look out of breath."
"I… yeah, I kind of am. Ah… haha," he laughed. "Guess I should be taking swimming more seriously, huh?"
"Never too late to start! I'll go after Hawkmon!" She turned and disappeared with her incredible pace, red hair flashing out of Takaharu's sight.
Takaharu blinked. He hadn't witnessed her speed up close, but it was more impressive than he expected. There was a ruffling of a bag behind him. "Wha-" Then there was the sound of chips being crunched on.
"Takaharu, these are really good! You want some?" Lomamon offered Takaharu the bag of barbeque chips.
"You – where did you get those?! And where did you go?"
Lomamon made an annoyed sound. "I haven't eaten all daaaaay!" It was true, but it had also eaten a massive breakfast, so Takaharu wasn't impressed.
"That – I guess that's true," he replied. "But still! Where did you get the bag of chips?"
"Some locker."
"Aahh!" yelled Takaharu. "You can't just break into people's stuff!"
"They left it open, though!"
"Still! Ugh, it doesn't matter now. Let's go back." The two headed back towards the club room.
Hawkmon yelled out, "Hey, where did you go?" It glided out of the air and landed next to Takaharu and Lomamon. Asuka followed right behind.
"I went to get food!" Lomamon said innocently.
"Ah, I see." Hawkmon was reminded – it, too, hadn't ate the whole day, because all of the Digimon had been forced to stay hidden during lunch hour. "I, uh… right, also haven't eaten yet," it added as they appoached the club room. The other five met them in the hall.
Kazuhiko facepalmed. He had been in such a rush this morning, he'd forgotten to pack anything. "My bad, Monodramon, I forgot to pack something," he apologized.
"Whaaaat?!"
"Oh… me too, ahaha," Asuka laughed nervously. She had morning practice, so she was in the same boat. "Can we go somewhere to pick up something?" They looked at Takaharu with expecting eyes since he liked to take the lead so much.
Takaharu backed up. "Hey, not my place! My parents are already giving up as much as they can!"
"That's not what we meant, Takaharu," assured Satsuki, "just that you like to call the shots, and we should go together."
"Oh, okay, that's better." He thought about it some. "We could try to stop by Marui Kinshicho or something, but…"
"Isn't that going to be packed with people by now?" asked Asuka.
"Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the idea either. I just put it out there. Hey, wait – Satsuki, don't your parents run a few restaurants?"
She snorted. "If you want to spend a minimum twenty thousand yen a person, then sure."
"What?! I – I had no idea it was so high brow!"
"I didn't think you would," she concurred without missing a beat.
Takaharu agreed, "Yeah, I guess not." Asuka choked on her own spit. "Are you okay?" Takaharu asked. Even Yuuka had to put a hand over her mouth to hide her smile. It wasn't appropriate to laugh at that burn, but… Takaharu hadn't even noticed!
"Y-yeah, I'm – ack – good!"
"Right, well-"
Gabumon interrupted Takaharu. "Takaharu, you do realize what she just said, right?" Even the Digimon were having a hard time keeping their humour in.
"What was wrong with that?"
"Wow. You're… genuinely clueless."
"Yeah, you're not the first one to tell me that." There was no sign that he would figure out what Satsuki meant. "Uh, Yuuka? Do you think we could stop by the shop and pick something up? Hm, but where do we go after…"
"The bakery would be closed up, but the seating area is still open. I can shut the blinds and shutters between the shop and the bakery. We'd have some privacy without having to go upstairs," she replied.
"Sounds good!" A rumble of thunder passed, getting their attention again. It seemed there was still lightning, but the rain had turned to drizzle. "And it looks like we have an opportunity – let's go!"
The konbini was more busy than expected, even though they'd been there for a half-hour. It seemed the pelting rain was driving people indoors. "Yuuka, are you sure this is fine?" asked Kazuhiko. "I get the feeling people will hear us through the walls." They had made it without getting soaked too much, but he was a bit nervous about having so many people nearby.
"If they can't see anything, they won't think it's too weird. We just have to do our best to not yell."
"You hear that, Takaharu?"
Takaharu put his chopsticks down and gave Kazuhiko a look of contempt. "I'm not that loud," he insisted.
"Does Lomamon agree with you?"
Lomamon was too busy eating again. This time it had a plum onigiri in its hands. "What do I agree with?" it asked with its mouth full.
"Is Takaharu a loud person?" asked Kazuhiko.
"I don't think so," it replied, chewing with its mouth open. "Yuuka, these are delicious!"
"Ah… I'll pass the thanks on to my mom." Yuuka was trying not to look at Lomamon. The open-mouthed chewing was bothering her a lot.
Takaharu shook his head in surprise. "Wait, your mom makes these too?"
"Yeah, once the breads are done in the morning, she makes these before the lunch hour." She was holding one herself, one filled with chopped mushrooms and dressed with usukuchi shoyu.
Satsuki was just as surprised. "Does she take a break?"
"I think so."
Gabumon was curious. "So, does that mean she makes all of this herself?" It was pointing at the box of tempura and salad in front of it.
"Oh! No, thank goodness. There's no way she would be able to, but it's just her and the same two people who work the bakery as well." Yuuka stared at Gabumon, and then at Hawkmon. "I… I don't know what I expected."
"What? Something the matter?"
"I guess I wasn't expecting Digimon to just… know how to use chopsticks."
Gabumon laughed. "Yeah, I was surprised too, when I found out people used them here!"
Hawkmon added, "I suppose we all end up finding out tools are useful in the same way, so they end up looking and working the same."
Monodramon was the only one that wasn't, because it was busy chewing on an apple tart left from the bakery. Despite it having been around for the whole day, it was still fresh. "Yeah, but I still don't understand what Kazuhiko is doing with all those paints."
Gabumon gave it a look. "You're not very artistic, are you?"
"Nope," it admitted. "Never paid the subject any mind."
Kazuhiko sighed. "I wonder… how are we supposed to get along?" He was concerned that if he and Monodramon didn't share any interests, then it would be pretty hard to live with each other.
Monodramon was upbeat about it though. "I'll learn, I guess."
Satsuki checked her phone. "Oh, damn it, time really went by. There was the club and all that, and we've been here for half an hour."
Asuka peeked out of the closed blinds. "And the rain hasn't let up, either. I mean, I would go find Falcomon myself, to be honest, but I'm not sure if Hawkmon wants to do that."
"In that weather?" It sighed. "No, it's not safe at all."
Asuka shrugged. "Guess we just gotta hope we can find it some other day. Not tomorrow, though. I have practice tomorrow."
"Oh, you did say you had practice for something. Soccer, was it?"
Asuka nodded. "I've been getting a lot of interest lately, so… I have to put in more effort!"
Kazuhiko seemed concerned. She already had issues with most of her studies save for biology. "You really want to get a professional contract?"
"Of course! I can't just get called up to the U-20 squad and not try to do that! Besides, even some clubs from America are looking!"
"W-what?!" Kazuhiko fell out of his chair. He did pay attention to English and American soccer, so he was well aware of the state of the game. "O-okay, in that case, I guess it does make sense."
"Ah, but still," she said, wistfully, "I kind of don't want to leave. All my friends are here, and it's familiar." Kazuhiko and Satsuki shared an awkward glance at each other. It wasn't a done deal, so it didn't make sense to say anything, but they would both be out of the country for a few years, if all went to plan.
Kazuhiko's phone buzzed. He took a quick peek at the notification, then stood up. "I better go. Dad is wondering if I got caught in the rain."
Monodramon gave him a look. "You never told them?"
"I forgot! I got too excited!"
"Ah… that's not the first thing you've forgotten today, either," it moaned.
Satsuki snickered. "You might have to become his to-do list."
Monodramon grumbled and buried its snout in its paws. "I can't believe this," it muttered.
"Bye guys! Oh, geez, raincoat, oops." Kazuhiko had almost walked out without his raincoat and umbrella, which Monodramon was holding. "Thanks, Monodramon."
"Yeah, of course." After handing over the rain gear, it disappeared into his phone. Kazuhiko headed out into the storm, which was still lashing down rain intensely.
"Ah, I kinda want to wait for this to calm down a bit, but that's not a guarantee, is it? Also, I need to get back to the books… I got distracted yesterday with this guy," admitted Takaharu. "Lomamon, let's go!"
"Right! Thanks for the food, Yuuka!" it beamed, giving her a quick bow. It too disappeared into Takaharu's phone.
"You're welcome." That left just the ladies in the closed bakery. "Asuka, if you've got practice tomorrow-"
"Yeah, I know," she said, "I better go too. Hey, Satsuki, we live in the same direction from here, right?"
"Mmhm," Satsuki nodded, "we might as well go at the same time. Thanks for helping us hide for a while, Yuuka. Hopefully we find Falcomon soon."
"It was delicious! Please tell your mother her hard work is greatly appreciated!" Hawkmon bowed.
"Ah, I'll… try."
"Hawkmon," Gabumon said, "I don't think Yuuka's mother should find out we exist."
"Oh, you're right. Well, on behalf of Asuka!"
"That's better." The two Digimon disappeared as well. Satsuki and Asuka helped Yuuka clean up the table and move chairs back into place, then bid their good nights and went off into the rainy night.
Yuuka watched them leave, a bit sad that they had Digimon with them. It wasn't so much that she wished she did too as much as it seemed nice to have someone that was like having a sibling. She didn't enjoy being an only child, but her parents seemed too busy to have more than one kid. Oh, well. If Falcomon turned up… she shouldn't force the issue. It would be too rude.
She turned back into the konbini. It was still busy. She dodged a few people with baskets and made her way up the stairs. "Mom?"
"Yuuka! Oh, they all left. I was hoping they would take some of the buns left over with them."
"Kazuhiko did, actually."
"Ah! What a good boy." Mariko was busy prepping for tomorrow, still. "You wanted to ask me something?"
Yuuka blinked. She did? She brushed a drifting lock of hair behind her ear. "Oh! Yeah, I was wondering if you saw a big black bird today or not."
"No, haven't seen one. We have ravens around here? There shouldn't be."
"That's what I was thinking, but I thought I saw one last night," Yuuka said, dancing around the topic a bit.
"Hm. You might need to let animal welfare know, if you find it."
"I will." It was a lie, obviously, but it wasn't a raven, so it didn't matter.
Yuuka returned to her bedroom. Physics again… her most hated subject. "Why can't electromagnetic fields be less painful…" she muttered. Should she take up Ryuta's offer of help? But he was going to be at least a day behind himself. No, she thought to herself, it's better not to bother him.
She studied for a few hours, managing to get part way through the physics material. She had a few other things to deal with, too. At least she wouldn't be the only one having to deal with all this on a tight schedule. Still, being around those four would be a huge drain on her time, and she already was a bit short of time just as things already were.
Eventually she had to go take a break. Her eyes were dry and her mind was out of juice. She turned around – and there was the shadow again. It had to be! A flash of lightning made it more evident that it was. It was lower, this time, like it was standing in her balcony. How long had it been there? Ah, she should have noticed earlier!
She opened the balcony door. There it was, sitting there, shivering and a bit damp. It looked at her quizzically. "Falcomon?"
It perked up. "How-"
"You look wet. How long were you out there?"
"Nnh… I flew around for a while hoping the rain would stop, but it didn't, and I couldn't find a good place to perch. I… got chased away a few times, too."
"If you want a place to stay dry for the night, you can come in."
"Oh! Uh…" it was unsure of the offer. After all, no other humans had bothered to even ask. This felt a little weird, but she did seem to want to help. "Okay."
Yuuka led it inside, making sure that her bedroom door was closed, then fetched a towel. Falcomon seemed capable enough of drying itself off, though its feathers had dealt with the rain well. Yuuka stared at its chest. Were those throwing stars? Odd. Why would a bird need throwing stars?
Ah, Digimon don't need to conform to human expectations, she figured. At least Falcomon was safe from the elements now. She figured she should also tell Hawkmon and the others so they could meet up some day soon to find it if Hawkmon and Falcomon did know each other.
