Pulling Out the Big Guns (Literally)

When Shizuka hadn't returned home from her match, Tsuna could only imagine the worst case scenarios. He'd only calmed down when he got a call from the Hibari home, Masahiro stating that his sister was staying for the night.

"It seems your sister didn't take her loss well." Reborn says, figuring that something like this would happen. As much as the ghost loved her blood family, the Hibari house was a safe haven to her. And the loss would be a huge blow to her pride.

Tsuna sighed. "As long as she's safe I don't really care that she lost." Now the matches were 3-2 with Tsuna's guardians having the most wins. And he really couldn't see Kyoya losing his match, he just prayed his opponent didn't die from their injuries.

"Umm, Tsunayoshi-san?" Tsuna looked up and saw Violet fidgeting nervously. "Cervello-san. Are you here to tell us where the next match is taking place?" He asks curiously. "No, but if anyone asks that's exactly why I was here. Tell your Cloud to be careful, my sisters are up to something." She warns.

"Won't you get in trouble for this?" Tsuna asks, Violet nodded. "It's not much but I had to do something. See you at the next match."

Shizuka followed Kyoya to the school, hoping that seeing the prefect smash someone's face in would drag her out of her melancholy mood. Not even spending time with her cats could bring a smile to her face. She also wondered why Kyoya wasn't trying to hit her with his tonfa for getting in his personal space again.

"Are you planning to sulk all day?" Shizuka winced, there it was. She braced herself for a hit to the head, only to look up in confusion when nothing happened.

"Your silence is unsettling and will worry the other herbivores." Kyoya states. Shizuka's eyes widened, this was the closest that the violent prefect had been to expressing concern over anyone. "Even if I end up breaking that silence with a badly timed prank?" She asks curiously.

"As long as it doesn't interfere with the match tonight." Kyoya relents, Shizuka was almost giddy with excitement. This was practically a free pass to prank Kyoya and not be chased down for it! Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice that Kyoya looked relieved at the sudden shift in her mood. Even if Shizuka tried pretending to be a carnivore to protect her brother, she was still a small animal that had a lot of growing to do.

Deciding to push her luck, she gave Kyoya a brief hug. "Thanks Kyoya-kun! See you tonight!" She says cheerfully, running away before his shock could wear off.

Kyoya sighed, hopefully the younger Sawada wouldn't get too carried away. There was a quiet snicker from one of the members of the Disciplinary Committee that earned a former delinquent a harsh glare. Kusakabe shook his head with a fond smile. No wonder there were rumors around Namimori Middle that Kyoya had a girlfriend. Not that anyone would voice this to the prefect for fear of being bitten to death.

Tsuna's training for the day ran late but his guardians still gathered to watch the Cloud ring battle. "What the hell happened in the Mist battle that made the Cervello do this?!" Gokudera exclaims. The area that the battle would take place in looked like it'd been ripped directly from a war movie. There were walls, mounted guns and signs that mines had been planted in the ground. Shizuka just grinned sheepishly. "I may have challenged their creativity since they didn't put anywhere near this amount of effort into the Mist battle."

This just got a raised eyebrow from Kyoya and Shizuka blushed. "Could we please just start this match already? Kyoya-kun has been looking forward to this more than any of us." She says in an attempt to deflect attention away from herself. Besides, she'd arranged for her prank to happen the second the match started. Nothing mean spirited but she'd likely garner a groan of exasperation or a chuckle from the spectators. She was just surprised that Verde went along with it.

There was an air of unease for this match, despite the certainty that everyone had that Kyoya would win. Violet in particular was fidgeting nervously and actively trying to shrink into the background. Kyoya and the Gola Moska entered the battlefield when the PA system crackled for a moment. The tension was broken as the opening riff of "Eye of the Tiger" started playing. The Cervello looked confused while Shizuka tried not to laugh. At least Ryohei and Takeshi seemed to appreciate the music.

The Gola Moska had barely lasted fifteen seconds into the song before Kyoya took it down with a single strike and easily grabbed the other half of the ring. "Well that was anti-climatic. And I had a whole playlist set up too!" Shizuka complains. Violet was already moving to the fallen machine to treat the injuries of the person inside when it came back online, targeting anyone that had been programmed as an enemy. "Xanxus-san, turn that thing off. The match is over!"

Xanxus smirked while giving a fake helpless gesture. "Isn't our fault you made the Gola Moska malfunction with how hard it was hit. Nothing we can do about it now." Panels on the machine opened, revealing missiles ready to be launched.

What is it with the mafia and needing to escalate everything?! Shizuka wondered, glad that at least her brother wasn't here to get blown to smithereens.

To everyone's surprise, the closest targets in the Gola Moska's range were Violet and Kyoya. I should have known that someone was watching me! The sun Cervello mentally cursed. A dark expression had crossed Shizuka's face as Xanxus laughed at their "misfortune." Thankfully she happened to be acquainted with someone that was familiar with this type of machine. "There should be a kill switch on that thing and I doubt anyone would willingly go into a machine that feeds off their flames. Try to find it and stay in one piece!" She ordered.

The teens all had their weapons ready when the missiles fired, determined to stand their ground. Violet gave a surprised yelp when a tendril of Mist flame dragged her away from the machine. The other Cervello were noticeably distanced from the field and Violet realized that her sisters in the organization knew this would happen.

"Try to reach Baku headquarters, you'll be safe there." Shizuka whispers, taking a protective stance in front of Violet. She gestured to a Baku subordinate in the background reporting the situation on his phone. "Just tell him that you're a friend of mine and they'll let you in. Alright?"

Violet hesitantly nodded. "Why are you being so nice?" She asks, Shizuka smiled. "You remind me of my brother. Now go!"

And all that planning was blasted to smithereens when Tsuna arrived in the scene, using a strong blast of Sky flames to protect his guardians and attack the rampaging machine. Shizuka just face palmed and grumbled something about Reborn giving her brother a hero complex.
