-Great Britain, England, 18 June 1976.
-Severus's room at The Leaky Cauldron, London.
For Severus Snape or Darth Vader, he still couldn't decide by which name he felt more comfortable with.
But for now, he would go with the name Severus.
He knew that he was not in complete control of all his actions now.
It would take time for his body to adapt to both souls along with his memories and feelings.
His body will probably now automatically react more to the characteristics of his soul as Severus Snape, but gradually both souls will shape and form Severus' body to suit the characteristics of both, making a new Severus, both in soul and body.
'Alright, let's start by reviewing and planning what to do next' Severus said to himself as he got up from the bed he was in and stretched his body.
'First of all, why was my soul as Snape being devoured by the dark side?' wondered Severus unable to comprehend the reason why that had happened.
He had concluded as Vader that this wave in the Force had been caused by him as Severus, but he as Severus had done nothing that could cause such a stirring in the Force.
"Strange, very strange..." Severus murmured thoughtfully.
'Hmm... I didn't do anything as Severus to provoke the dark side of the Force like that, something else must have happened...'
'...There may have been a great event in the Force that I as Snape was not aware of...' thought Severus.
He had already realised that wizards on this planet unlike the Jedi or the Sith, do not use their bond and connection to the Force to communicate and use it, they had no real awareness of the Force or 'magic' itself.
Wizards use their magic wands, which are powerful weapons but also affect Force practitioners a lot since it is the Wand that acts as an intermediary between the Force and the wizard.
They only focus on the use of the wand and the different types of spells, leaving aside the connection with the Force, in fact, wizards do not really make use of the Force.
Severus knew that there were no exercises to help wizards control the Force, so they never had to meditate or strengthen their minds to withstand the wear and tear of using the Force.
They just use the wand and focus on using or creating new spells or other things.
It was interesting for Severus to discover two galaxies with separate civilisations that make use of the Force in such different and unique ways.
The Jedi and Sith connect with the Force through many exercises and training that allow them to do so.
Meanwhile, wizards use their wands to call upon the Force and only focus on the spells they want to cast, not their connection, which gives them an advantage as they don't have to worry about losing their connection or exhausting themselves quickly, they just had to think of the spell along with their correct wand movement and that's all.
No doubt the wands are powerful and allow their users to do many things that the Jedi and Sith could not do even if they knew the necessary "magic" tricks.
But this is only because the wand reduces the mental and physical effort that the user must use to call upon the Force, and this is also one of the reasons why few wizards are able to use "magic" without a wand, as they have no real connection to the Force, and it is very difficult for them to use it without a wand.
Wizards cannot have a connection to the Force "by magic", it takes meditation, sweat, determination, and constant hard work.
For Severus the wand was powerful..., but it was also a crutch.
"Hmm..., in case it wasn't some strange phenomenon of the Force, there's only one option left..." muttered Severus.
"A curse...!" he concluded with half-closed eyes at the thought of that possibility.
'Yes, that could be a possibility, but it is almost impossible for me to think of a curse of such magnitude, something that would make the Force react in such a way is not a simple curse, it would have to be a magic of such a high degree that only a wizard like Voldemort or Dombuldore could do it. Such dark magic that would make that happen... ' Severus thought.
'...Voldemort maybe..., but why would he do that to me... and especially why would he use such a unique and powerful magic on someone so insignificant...?, no, it doesn't make sense...'
'... Unless he was testing the result of such magic on me... it's a possibility, but I can't conclude anything with my current knowledge, besides, Voldemort shouldn't even know that I exist yet...'
'... For now, I only know that I may be at great risk, one that I do not know of...' Severus shook his head annoyed and frustrated at not knowing what could have caused such a thing.
He doubted it was Voldemort or any other wizard of his level, he was more likely to think it was some strange phenomenon in the Force that had caused it all, but still, he had to be careful.
'By Merlin... better forget about this for now and concentrate on my current situation, which is complex enough as it is,' Severus grumbled internally.
'I must say it is fortunate that I returned from Hogwarts a few days ago and decided to leave my home to come to The Leaky Cauldron, and rent a room to stay in,' sighed Severus as he recalled the recent events he had been through.
'Pathetic... Sad..., but so pathetic of me.'
'Even with two souls and all the experiences of both, it doesn't stop hurting like before what happened...'
He as Snape hadn't wanted to stay at home because of the recent loss of his parents and the supposed betrayal of Lily Evans.
'Luckily I was smart enough to not torture myself anymore, getting away from my home and Lily who was by James' side, coming to The Leaky Cauldron and renting a room with my savings to get away from my torments and refresh my mind' Severus thought proud of his previous good decision.
Otherwise, who knows how he would have ended up at home.
For Severus, home was a constant reminder of his dead parents and his unhappy childhood, so many emotions together could overwhelm him.
'Now I just have to plan what I'm going to do in the future on this planet and for that I have to understand the current situation I'm in' Severus concluded.
'Hmm, if I remember correctly when the second half of my fifth year at Hogwarts began, Potter seemed to have lost a bit of interest in picking on me and making my life at Hogwarts a living hell, probably because I no longer had the attention of Lily Evans'.
'Ha, I always knew he liked her and that's why he focused on messing with me to get her attention, but as much as I'd like to think that James bloody Potter isn't going to cause me any more trouble now that Lily Evans isn't talking to me, I know he's still going to be a pain in the arse.'
Potter and his group of bullies would always ambush the young Snape, whenever his fellow Slytherin students left him alone in the long dark corridors of Hogwarts or even outside in the grounds.
'That's going to be a nuisance for years to come..., well, there's always the option of killing him...' Severus smiled in amusement at the thought, even though he knew he wasn't going to do it.
Though if they did bother him it probably wouldn't go well for them.
"Hmm maybe not kill them..., but a person can live without an arm or two," Severus muttered with a slight smile.
'Putting that aside, Potter and his group are not my main concern, no, the most important thing at the moment is Voldemort and his followers, the death eater...'
'...My housemates in Slytherin, especially those I tend to spend most of my time with, such as Rosier, Mulciber, Avery, Lestrange and Wilkes, were actively seeking to recruit me to join the ranks of the Dark Lord alongside them...'
It was an outcome that Snape had always been trying to avoid at all costs, not because he didn't agree with Voldemort's ideas before, but because he loved Lily Evans too much and he knew that she would never accept him if he joined the death eaters.
'Lily was a muggleborn, so it would be a betrayal to her if I joined the blood purists who sought to subdue mudbloods and muggles,' Severus recalled with a weary sigh.
He had even gone so far for Lily as to refuse the Malfoy's invitation to their annual winter ball at their Christmas break... only to find that by the end of the year all his efforts had been in vain.
But now that Severus understands things better, he is truly grateful to Lily Evans from the bottom of his heart.
If it wasn't because he didn't want her to hate him, it's quite sure that he would have gone to that ball in the Christmas holidays of his fifth year along with all the blood purists and death eaters, being even closer than ever to being a death eater.
"Well..., who would have thought that my bloody obsession would result in anything good," Severus mocked himself.
Today Severus was really thankful that he refused at the time, otherwise, he would be in even bigger trouble now, for now, he would just push all those bad thoughts out of his mind.
For him it was an annoyance to know that a part of his being was so fragile and flimsy.
"Ha, just like this body," Severus muttered with a sarcastic smirk.
'But if I can train a group of small farmers to fight and defend themselves with sticks, I can put this weak body of mine in form as well as my mind,' Severus said to himself earnestly.
A little tired of thinking, Severus decided to leave his room since it was breakfast time and he was starting to get hungry.
He just showered first and then left his room in the Leaky Cauldron.
He then went to the tavern and ordered a full breakfast as it was included in his rent.
"Rob, a full breakfast" Severus ordered without much emotion to the old man bartender at the tavern.
"Good morning Severus, coming right up!" he greeted and replied calmly to the old tavern keeper.
A few seconds later...
"Here's your full breakfast Severus," said Rob handing him his breakfast quickly.
"This..., if I remember correctly the full breakfast included in the rent is half of what you gave me," asked Severus a little confused by the huge amount of food Rob gave him.
Although he wasn't really complaining, Severus didn't have much money and usually used all his savings for the materials he used to brew the potions he made, neglecting much of his personal hygiene or nutrition.
All the money he had was earned from the potions he sold at Hogwarts to students and he usually used that money for his clothes, school supplies, books of interest, and daily necessities, plus more materials to brew and sell more potions.
"The extra is coming from me. You're getting paler, taller, and thinner with each passing year..., you must eat more or you're going to disappear at any moment" Rob commented jokingly but he actually meant it, he just didn't want to anger young Severus.
"This..." Severus didn't know what to reply, he had no relationship with the old man, he used to be just another customer all these years, maybe Rob did it because of the bad state he came to the pub in yesterday after seeing Lily and Potter.
'Apparently, the old taverner felt a bit sorry for my condition, well... he seems to be a nice man, at least he cares a bit about my health...'
"I am truly pathetic" muttered Severus quietly to himself.
"Did you say something?" asked Rob as he heard Severus mutter but didn't get to hear what he said.
"No, nothing, but there was really no need to..." replied Severus before Rob interrupted him.
"Come on come on, don't say anything, and eat. Oh yes, I forgot, Severus, here, this is your mail, it arrived today with the owl," the bartender and owner of the Leaky Cauldron told him.
The owls could not enter the rooms as they had no windows, so they left newspapers, objects and letters for the landlord to deliver unless it was something the owl had to deliver personally, in which case, it would wait until the tenant came out.
"I see..., thank you, Rob," Severus nodded and thanked, but this surprised the owner, who raised an eyebrow at the young Severus' thanks.
Severus didn't usually talk much to anyone, he was very dark, cold, dry, and lonely.
He usually just nodded his head when spoken to unless he had no choice but to answer, ask or request something and even though he sounded as cold as ever now, the fact that he was thanking him was something new in the years they had known each other.
Not giving much thought to the bartender's surprise, Severus grabbed his breakfast along with the correspondence that had arrived and then took a seat in a secluded corner where he always sat in the Pub.
Once Severus sat quietly eating his breakfast, he decided to continue thinking about what he should do next.
'Well..., apparently I have just over two months before I have to enter Hogwarts and be pressured to join the ranks of the Death Eaters, thus taking the Dark Mark..., something I am clearly not going to do' Severus thought.
He had this information thanks to his dear friend Lucius Malfoy.
It was Lucius who told him that his father had spoken highly of him to the other Death Eaters so that they could soon integrate him as a Potionist among their followers, as Severus' talent was quite unique and they could make good use of it.
Severus knew that Lucius' friendship along with his teachings in the Dark Arts had been in part a ploy to groom him for the Dark Lord's ranks.
He previously as Snape had wanted so much to be recognised for his achievements that he had enjoyed the older Slytherin's praise and teachings, dismissing his friend Lily Evans' concerns as unfounded.
But Severus could also honestly admit that his friendship with Lucius Malfoy was true.
Although it had been partly a plan to groom him as a future death eater, that was more on Lucius's father's side.
He and Lucius had always maintained a friendly and cordial relationship.
Lucius had helped him a lot over the years, more than anyone else, so Severus couldn't help but consider him a friend now, regardless of whether his ideals were now different or the fact that he almost led him in a wrong direction.
After all, it was his own interest and curiosity in the Dark Arts that had begun to lead him down a twisted and dangerous path of self-delusion.
Each new spell Snape learned fed his ego and reinforced his belief that he was the one who controlled the darkness and not the other way around.
'As if I could have done that with such a basic knowledge of the Force,' Severus scoffed to himself at the thought.
The wizards of this world didn't even know what the Force was, they called it 'Magic', but it was undeniable that what wizards achieved with their wands and spells was something every Jedi or Sith would envy.
Severus also knew that Lucius supported him thinking that he was helping him and at the same time gaining the favour of a very capable future wizard, so it was a win-win, something Severus could understand, he was part Slytherin after all.
'Well..., the upside to all this is that until the Malfoy's talk to Voldemort himself and he accepts me among his followers, I shouldn't have any problems... and obviously the only reason Malfoy's father hasn't yet spoken to Voldemort to include me in his ranks is because of my obvious and not at all discreet love for Lily' Severus thought.
"Looks like my obsession is paying off again," Severus chuckled in amusement at how illogical that sounded.
His obsession never resulted in anything positive, but now he had managed to find two things that were currently helping him.
Since all the blood purists and death eaters considered Lily Evans a mudblood unworthy of being a witch, Malfoy couldn't afford to introduce Severus to Voldemort, not as long as his obsession with her continued.
'And everyone knew that I would never leave Lily Evans..., Lucius Malfoy's father considers this a big problem because in the future this could play against him if I end up betraying them and that would only make Lucius' father look bad in front of Voldemort' Severus thought with a faint smile.
'That's why until Malfoy was sure that I would give my absolute loyalty to the Death Eaters and Voldemort, he wouldn't risk integrating me fully' Severus concluded.
'Now... What can I do to avoid the Death Eaters and Voldemort?' Severus asked himself as he ate his breakfast.
'I could just kill them if they push me too hard, but I'm still too weak..., I need time to train and improve this pitiful weak body...'
"Time, that's all I need..." muttered Severus.
Now he just had to think of what to do to buy the time needed for him to be ready to face any problem.
He might not back down from anyone, but that didn't mean he was stupid enough to go head-on against something he couldn't deal with yet.
He had to be smart, buy time, and gain strength before facing whoever stood in his way.
'Hmm... I could take my family heritage from my mother's side, House Prince is one of the most important noble houses in Britain, if I did that, the death eaters would have a harder time pressuring me to join them as the whole magical world will know about me, making my face a public knowledge'
'That would prevent them from being able to pressure me into joining so easily, which gives me time and monetary power that I currently don't have...'
'...But the biggest problem with this is that my mother was disowned by her family, she was even erased from the House Prince family tree and I understand that all my maternal relatives died, so it is impossible to appeal to any of them, now the only thing I can do is go through the House Prince family inheritance test...' analysed Severus, his situation was complex, with no money, a weak body and dark wizards behind him.
He knew that the inheritance test is usually done when a pureblood family is left for some reason without direct heirs, then one who is a young wizard can take the test as long as they have the blood of a direct descendant of the family as well as the ancestral ring of the house in particular.
At Gringotts, the test of inheritance left by the great pureblood houses is usually only a mental test and a blood ritual.
If a young wizard manages to withstand/pass the test and ritual, then he or she is considered the new heir to the lordship of the House.
'I am currently the main and perhaps only pretender to inherit the lordship and the entire family inheritance.'
'Not only do I fulfill the blood clause, but I am half Prince with direct descent from the daughter of the previous lord of the Prince family and even though my mother was disowned and removed from the family tree, I am a direct blood descendant, I am more than acceptable to take the Prince surname, so I am more than qualified to take the test of inheritance...' Severus concluded.
There may be other distant relatives who are of the Prince family, but before they can even think about being heirs, Severus would have priority at Gringotts as the only living direct descendant.
'The problem is that I've never heard of the Prince family ancestral ring... I have no idea where it might be, I had asked Gringotts if they knew anything, but apparently, they had no idea where it might be either, and without an ancestral ring...'
"...No proof of inheritance," sighed a tired Severus.
Things weren't getting any easier for him.
'Looking for a bloody ring all over the planet is not a possibility, so inheriting the Prince name along with the lordship doesn't seem to be an option at the moment, inheritance will have to be left for later...' sighed Severus wearily.
"Merlin..., why can't things be simpler, can't I get some good news?" complained Severus under his breath.
After tiring of thinking of unfeasible options to get away from the influence of Voldemort's followers, Severus proceeded to pick up Britain's magical newspaper, the Daily Prophet, which was the only newspaper young Severus usually read along with some potions magazines.
Severus proceeded to read the news of the magical world and looked annoyed at the front page of the Daily Prophet.
Before, he usually used to scoff at the crazy headlines and false gossip stories that this tabloid newspaper produced.
But despite the lies and bad journalism, he read it every day to keep up with events in the magical world.
But unlike before, when he scoffed at what was written in the paper, Severus was now irritated and angry at what he read.
While Voldemort and his followers the Death Eaters were terrorising the magical world with their attacks on the Muggle-born with raids on Muggle villages and destruction of shops in Diagon Alley, the Prophet only played down these attacks and wanted to reassure its readers of the strength of the Ministry of Magic and its enforcement of the law.
Idiots, what they should be doing is reporting every life lost and every new dark spell, potion, and poison so that magical citizens could increase their vigilance and protect themselves with counterspells and antidotes against death eaters' Severus shook his head at the thought of how idiotic political leaders could be.
Why politicians if it's the newspaper?
Because Severus wasn't stupid enough to think that the Prophet wasn't influenced by the Ministry of Magic.
Severus read on and saw that the paper only wrote stories about the magical upper class and the Ministry with its new bureaucratic laws.
'No wonder the British magical community currently didn't have enough followers and members to stand up to Voldemort when most wizards and witches closed their eyes to the start of the war in their world, while the Dark Lord continues to add followers to his ranks day by day' Severus thought with a grimace of disgust.
Not wanting to read further about how dumb politicians could be, Severus decided to put the paper down so as not to get more irritated than he already was.
'It seems that no matter what galaxy you're in, politicians are still the same,' Severus said to himself as he remembered the senators of the republic.
'Well..., at least the Minister of Magic doesn't seem to be a sham like the Supreme Chancellor' the instant he thought that, Severus remembered Palpatine was actually Darth Sidious and his mood only got worse.
Clearing his mind and calming down, Severus decided to stop thinking about it and continue reading his correspondence.
"Severus!" said a young, female voice just as Severus was about to proceed to read one of the letters that had arrived to clear his mind for a while.
Severus recognised the voice immediately and was a little surprised.
"Narcissa!?" asked Severus raising his head to look at the young woman who spoke to him.
"Oh, Severus..." said Narcissa in a thin, pained voice, she was standing in front of Severus looking at him with a hint of pity in her big blue eyes.
Severus wondered in confusion if her voice had always sounded so thin and pained.
"Narcissa, it's a surprise to see you..." said Severus as he stood up to greet her properly.
"...What are you doing in the Leaky Cauldron? It's not a place I'd expect to find you," asked Severus a little surprised.
Narcissa pursed her lips.
"I heard what happened, Severus. I know about your little muggle-born friend, Evans," Narcissa said with distaste at the mention of Lily, but with clear concern in her eyes.
"I see, I'm not surprised. You know, I'd rather not talk about it now, I've left it in the past and I have no interest in reminiscing," Severus replied now understanding why she sounded so strange.
Narcissa Black was always very good to Severus, she helped and advised him many times.
He also used to help her with many issues or other doubts she had, but he and Narcissa never really became friends.
Despite their good relationship, she was always in a very different world from his.
Or so he thought as Snape had before.
She was loved and admired by everyone, she was also the most beautiful and wanted woman in Slytherin and even all of Hogwarts, while he was the opposite, he was only known for his skills in the dark arts and potions, while physically he left a lot to be desired.
That was why they never became anything more than good acquaintances, in the past, he wouldn't allow himself to think that he could be friends with someone like her, it was he who never associated her as a friend, but Narcissa certainly considered him her friend.
Severus suddenly remembered what Lily had once said to him in his fourth year: "You'd think she was a princess by the way everyone behaved towards her."
Narcissa used to be the centre of attention at Hogwarts and it was understandable, men always acted like animals in the heat with Narcissa, so much so that it became very unpleasant, but both Lily and he had admitted that Narcissa was very dazzling.
Once Narcissa finished Hogwarts, she maintained a relationship with Lucius Malfoy, and Severus being friends with Lucius, used to talk to her quite a lot.
The two of them had a very good relationship and now Severus could admit that she was, in fact, like a friend to him, he just didn't realise it before.
He didn't see her as a friend before or didn't allow himself to see her as a friend, but now he could understand that they were always friends, he was just too stubborn to see it or accept it.
"You honestly can't expect me to believe that!" she chided him with a look that told him it was impossible to fool her.
"Believe it or not it's the truth and I have a lot of other things to think about right now, but Lily isn't one of them," Severus replied quietly and truthfully.
The last thing he wanted to think about right now was Lily Evans, that was why he had decided not to think about her anymore as it would bring him no good.
"Really...? this...? Are you serious?" Narcissa asked weakly with a suspicious look on her face, she clearly found it hard to believe him.
"Please, you know you can talk to me, Severus," she added.
"I know, Narcissa, I know, thank you for that. But what I said is the truth," Severus said with a faint smile.
'She really cares about me' thought Severus amused, he couldn't understand how he hadn't realised before the friendship he already had with her.
He was beginning to doubt if he wasn't a bit of an idiot, so smart he was for many things, but for others, he seemed to be completely blind, it didn't make any sense.
Narcissa seemed very surprised by Severus' response.
"Severus..." she said sounding hesitant and a little frightened.
"Are you sure you're alright..., you're behaving very strangely today, not that I'm complaining, but it's not normal to see you smile or hear you say... 'thank you...' " she commented a little uncomfortable not knowing how to gently describe the obvious changes in Severus' attitude.
"Yeah, well..., I just rethought a lot of things and now I'm looking to turn over a new leaf, kind of like a fresh start. Pathetic, I know," Severus said, knowing how absurd what he was saying sounded.
But he also couldn't tell her that he now had the knowledge of two lives and that his obsession with Lily wasn't all that occupied his mind every bloody minute of the day.
Narcissa looked into his eyes, searching for any trace of a lie in what he said.
A few seconds later, she relaxed and sat down next to Severus, asked the bartender for a bottle of brandy, and looked back at Severus.
Narcissa was wearing a long, flimsy white dress.
Severus had to admit that she was very beautiful.
'Well... she always was' Severus laughed internally as he realised that he had been so crazy about Lily before that he hadn't even given himself time to think about other women.
"A drink...?" asked Narcissa offering him a glass of her brandy.
"Tea's fine for me, besides... Isn't it a little early for a drink?" asked Severus, thinking about who the hell drank brandy at this hour.
"When you've got a boyfriend who's so involved with... well, you know who..., you end up getting used to having a drink to relax your day," Narcissa replied as she poured herself her drink and looked wearily at Severus.
Severus grimaced at that response.
He could understand that it shouldn't be easy to be involved with a dark wizard when war was brewing and to make matters worse, Lucius was already a death eater loyal to Voldemort, so it was safe to say that Narcissa wasn't having an easy time of it.
'I hope Lucius doesn't make the same mistakes I did with Padme...' Severus thought a little sadly but pushed those thoughts away.
He knew that Lucius and Narcissa's situation wasn't like his with Padme.
That's because Narcissa had the same ideals as the Malfoy's and most pureblood supremacists, but she wasn't comfortable with violence let alone war, so she didn't get involved but she was aware of everything that was going on.
"So..., how have you been, I haven't seen you in..., what has it been, 1 year, how are things with your fellow Slytherins, are they still looking to be part of this war?" asked Narcissa.
"Well, there's not much I can tell you that you don't know, you should already know most of the things that happened. But on my own I'm better off now, as for Rosier, Mulciber and Avery, yes, they still seek to be involved in the cause" replied Severus.
"Uh-oh, you don't include yourself, didn't you dream of being part of the cause?" asked a surprised Narcissa.
"Is it because of the Muggleborn that you now have doubts?" she added, glaring at Severus.
She had turned to look Severus in the eye, she wanted to make sure he wasn't lying to her.
The only way Narcissa knew how to find out the truth when she spoke to Severus was to look him in the eyes because his face was always unreadable.
Her eyes were very large and clear and the blue irises stood out clearly against his pale face.
Very different from Severus' completely black, cold, deep-set eyes.
Narcissa's eyes gave a warm feeling while Severus' gave a cold one.
It was clear that she was very surprised by Severus' attitude, but she seemed to be associating all these changes in him with the recent events involving Lily Evans.
"We both know it's preferable not to talk about such things in ...public..." replied Severus softly, mentioning the unsuitable environment of the Pub to talk about such things.
"Don't tell me, Evans...!, all this sudden change in you is because of her!, Severus listen to me carefully, don't do anything you'll regret, I know from Lucius that things are going to start changing and I wouldn't like to see you on the wrong side!" said Narcissa with concern clear in her eyes and voice.
"Hey, don't worry, I know what I'm doing, you know me," Severus tried to calm her worries.
"Precisely because I know you, I know what you're capable of for that muggle-born and that's why..."
"Narcissa!" Severus interrupted her.
"I... sorry Severus, I'm just worried about you, I know how much she meant to you, and now that the war is only getting worse every day..."
"I know, don't worry. You can be sure I'm not going to do anything to put myself in danger and between us, Lily Evans isn't the reason for anything I do this time," Severus said.
"She won't even talk to me now and I don't plan to push her anymore either, I'm looking to do things on my own now and I just want to think things through a bit better, I'm not choosing sides, I just want to think about me, do you understand?" added Severus as he took a sip of tea.
Narcissa gave a prolonged sigh, looking away.
"I understand Severus... If you say so, I trust you," he sighed and she nodded giving him a soft smile.
"I'm glad you can start thinking of yourself to let go once and for all of that muggle-born who never treated you the way you deserved," she added taking her whole glass of brandy and then refilling it with the bottle.
"Yes, it certainly is, although it's a pity she hasn't forgiven me, but it's good to start making my life without thinking about her," nodded Severus, watching with some surprise and amusement as Narcissa sipped her brandy as if it were water.
'Damn she likes to drink' thought Severus.
Narcissa sighed again with a bored look on her face, clearly indicating to Severus that she didn't consider his separation from Lily Evans to be a pity.
She couldn't care less about that Muggleborn, she just hoped to see Severus separate from her and her unhealthy obsession, someone as intelligent and talented as him didn't deserve to be with a Muggleborn like Evans.
"Changing the subject..., tell me about yourself, Narcissa. You've hardly said a word about yourself. What are you doing these days? With Lucius is everything going well? Where are you working these days?" asked Severus.
Narcissa was working at the Ministry and she told him a bit about her work.
Severus listened intently, nodding and asking questions, his black eyes full of interest, real or feigned, but Narcissa went on and on about many things, occasionally laughing at some things in the conversation.
The gold rings glittered and sparkled every time she lifted her thin, pale fingers to cover her mouth from laughter.
"Sounds like a very fascinating job," Severus commented as the conversation drew to a close.
"It sounds like you really enjoy working at the Ministry and from what I hear, you have big ambitions," he added.
"Well... I certainly enjoy it, but things are tense these days at the Ministry of Magic and Lucius isn't very happy that I'm still working there" nodded Narcissa and then sighed with a hint of frustration and exhaustion in her voice.
"I'm curious, you didn't talk to me about how things are going with Lucius, is that why you only talk to me about work?" asked Severus already guessing that things weren't going so well between the two of them.
