AN: Hello. The next chapter of the story. Made for Tumblr user princessquinnella.

Enjoy!

It was afternoon and Basil was setting his disguise. Last time, his disguise didn't help to fool Ratigan, but he won't make that same mistake. He had a dark brown cap, fake beard, mustache, and scar painted on his left eye. He was wearing a long shaggy coat, dark green blouse, and dark grey pants.

"Shouldn't I come along?" Dawson asked.

"I need to be my backup with Elizabeth." Basil said. "Who knows what would happen with Ratigan now. He might expect me to appear like before or has prepared something horrible to avenge me."

"I'm surprised, but also relieved he hasn't done it so already." Dawson said.

"He definitely wants it to be as cruel as possible to me. I won't be surprised if he has one of his men watching over us."

"Well, you are right on that one." Elizabeth said while coming in. "I think I spotted someone watching over here."

"What did you get?" Basil asked his niece.

"By what I learned from my informers and boys… and by this." Elizabeth said while showing a book about fairies. "I believe he is here." she said and pointed to one spot a bit further from the river.

"I didn't know we had a book about fairies." Dawson said while looking at the book.

"I told you, humans don't know about them, but we animals do. Of course, some mouse has written about them." Basil said.

"And according to the book, fairies can't fly if their wings are wet. So, it's elementary that Ratigan will have his new lair somewhere near in the sewers." Elizabeth cleared.

"And this one is closer to the main pipe which makes any pipe dripping water over the wings." Basil figures. "Plus these other two have either been taken for a different use or are in the middle of London that she could easily escape."

"Which is why it has to be that spot." Elizabeth said.

"It will be a maze of pipes to get out by flying or by feet, but one way or another they will lead to the main pipe and there to the river." Basil said. "I assume that fairies don't know how to swim."

"Well, according to the book there are water fairies, but not for that purpose. So I'd say no." Elizabeth said.

"Then here's the plan." Basil started."I go in disguise into Ratigan's lair and free the fairy. We run till we take one of the pipes that will take us to the main pipe and there to the riverfront. You two will be ready to catch us. And if things go wrong somehow, like for example Ratigan catches me as well, get the police from Mouseyard. Just tell them we found the culprits of jewel robberies and forgeries."

"Hopefully we don't need to." Elizabeth mumbles.

"But what about the fellow who is watching us?" Dawson asked.

Basil and Elizabeth looked at each other before both smiled.

It was getting dark. Whoever was watching over Baker Street kept an eye on the window. In it, he could see the silhouette of Basil playing violin, Dawson, and Elizabeth listening. He had no idea that three mice went backdoor riding with Toby.

"I have always wanted to pull this." Elizabeth whispers.

"Let's hope it will work long enough." Basil said.

Toby ran as fast as he could and they came to the riverfront. Basil comes down and looks for a way to the sewers. Dawson and Elizabeth come down too. The main pipe will be the exit, but for the entrance, there has to be another way in.

"There." Elizabeth points to a manhole.

"Well done, Elizabeth." Dawson said.

Basil walks there to see it clearly. He could go through it. "Wait three hours, if you don't hear anything in the main pipe, go get the cops."

"Be careful, uncle." Elizabeth said before Basil got down through the manhole.

Basil had luck. He managed to get into one sewer pipe that connects to the main pipe. He marks it with a piece of chalk. It didn't take long before he spotted a bit of light. As he walks further he hears laughing. Yes, he is on the right track. It didn't take long before he saw mice drinking and enjoying themselves. Most of them he recognizes from the Jubilee case. It seems Ratigan has hired a bit more.

Then he sees Fidget coming from a huge barrel. He hides behind an old stool.

"Okay, remember to behave, boys. Boss said if anyone even touches her wings, they become cat food." he warns. No one complained about that. Ratigan seems to keep his minions under control by fear as always.

Fidget goes into one barrel with a thick door with bars on it. In a minute or two someone comes out and Fidget behind her.

Basil was surprised by what he saw. Sure, in Kensington gardens fairies were pretty and all, but this one…was beautiful. Despite the sad look on her face, she looked beautiful. She was wearing a lavender-colored dress. The way others whistled and cheered, confirmed he wasn't wrong. Hard to imagine that she is a tinker fairy, as Queen Mabs told them. Must be a talent that doesn't show up outside. But by that beauty, it's hard to say are all never fairies this pretty or is she unique even there. No, focus! You came to save her and stop Ratigan.

She walked to the other barrel with R on it where there was a light on. Basil sneaks to get near. So far, no one has noticed him. Good, he hasn't lost the touch. Now he needs to find a way inside without being noticed. To his luck, there was a crack up on the barrel. He quickly climbed up and noticed it was made to hold the main chandelier up. He peeks to see how to move from there. Many ropes were holding it up, so he could get down. He just needs to wait for the right time to do so. By looking at the main room, Ratigan has set everything. A table for two, candlelight, a huge gramophone to play music and it's pretty obvious there was more. Considering the fairy's beauty and how evil Ratigan is, it's clear he isn't going to leave the opportunity to claim her one way or another. He needs to stop him before he gets to that part. Which means he needs to get down, while the room is dark. Which it was, luckily. Knowing his archnemesis, Basil had a pretty good idea where his room was. And he had a pretty good idea of how he was going to save the fairy. Hopefully, nothing goes wrong during the rescue mission.
